[NEWSWEEK] President Donald J. Trump loves a good conspiracy theory. He spent much of Barack Obama’s eight years in office suggesting that the president had been born outside the United States. That claim, with its obvious racial overtones, raised Trump’s profile with the nativist wing of the Republican Party, giving him the necessary credibility to launch a presidential campaign in 2015.
During the Republican presidential primary, he suggested that the father of Senator Ted R. Cruz, the Republican from Texas, was somehow involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Later yet, after his Republican foes had been vanquished, he charged that his general election opponent, Hillary Clinton, "meets in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich these global financial powers, her special interest friends and her donors."
The statement suggested a fickle affinity for conspiracy theories that would be difficult for a 71-year-old to temper, even if his newfound political power may have called for a more restrained approach to unsubstantiated innuendo. Trump has carried the conspiratorial mind-set into the Oval Office, tweeting about illegal Obama wiretaps of Trump Tower and worrying about Deep State coups against his administration.
Yes, yes, yes of course Newsweek columnists, Trump is absolutely insane.

The problem with Trump's foreign policy is that he isn't even knowledgeable enough to be a dilettante. And the professionals are people who represent the interests of the countries they specialize in, rather than those of these United States.

At least Trump's primary consideration will be our national interest, which is a quantum leap forward from Obama's, where it was the last consideration.
[American Spectator] It is incomprehensible," Bill O’Reilly says of Megyn Kelly’s attack on him this week. No, it is entirely comprehensible, given that her show, aimed largely at liberal women, is tanking. By playing the feminist card again and pandering to her audience, she hopes to revive her flagging show. But it won’t work. Her tremulously delivered, overly dramatic monologue about O’Reilly ‐ "his suggestion that no one complained about his behavior is false; I know, because I complained" ‐ was typically manipulative, misleading, and narcissistic.
The "behavior" to which she so darkly referred didn’t include sexual harassment at all. It referred to his appearance on a television show during which he declined to answer any questions about her memoirs. He begged off, saying that he had no "interest" in badmouthing his employer. That didn’t sit well with Kelly, who felt that he should have praised her book and its trashing of Roger Ailes. Seeing a chance to throw her weight around during contract renegotiations, she then fired off a letter of complaint to Fox News executives.
[FOX] Former vice president Joe Biden wrote in his new book that Hillary Clinton was a "prisoner of history" when it came to her unsuccessful 2016 campaign for president and she lacked "joy."
In excerpts of his new book Promise Me, Dad printed in Vanity Fair, Biden reflected on his decision to not run for the Democratic nomination against Clinton as well as the death of his son, Beau, in 2015.
Biden addressed Clinton's position as being the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination early in the race and the fact that she was a woman in that position. Biden said he decided not to run because of the death of Beau and has since said he regrets the decision.
"Everyone thinks it was just raw ambition on her part," Biden wrote. "I think she was sort of a prisoner of history; first woman who had a better-than-even chance of getting the nomination. First woman, relative to the Republican field, who had a better-than-even chance of being president."
Biden also said that he believed that Clinton's campaign was joyless, as noted by Newsweek, while he enjoyed campaigns during his long political career.
[Newsweek] The Obama administration and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have risen to the center of controversy over a 2010 nuclear deal that handed Russia control of 20 percent of the U.S.’s uranium supply. The Uranium One deal has been referred to as a Russian nuclear bribery scheme and similar names since government documents surfaced last week showing the FBI had substantial evidence of racketeering by Russian officials before the Obama administration approved the deal.
[Tom's Hardware] As the U.S. Congress is now battling over three bills (a House version and two Senate versions) that aim to re-authorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Section 702 mass surveillance programs, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has asked an appeals court to declare Section 702 surveillance unconstitutional.
[Townhall] New questions were raised this week about the Mandalay Bay security guard in the Las Vegas massacre. Fox News’s Tucker Carlson reported Wednesday that guard Jesus Campos left the country just days after the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.
According to documents Fox News obtained from Customs and Border Patrol, Campos returned to the U.S. from Mexico one week after the attack on concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival. The documents do not reveal when he left, or how long he stayed, only that he entered at the San Ysidro border crossing in California.
The 25-year-old guard entered the U.S. from the same entry point in January. During that trip he drove his own vehicle, this time he rented a car, accorded to Fox News’s sources.
The new information raises even more questions about Stephen Paddock’s Oct. 1 massacre ‐ such as why authorities would allow Campos to leave the country in the middle of their investigation or how the security guard managed to make it down to Mexico with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Campos reportedly took a bullet from gunman Stephen Paddock at the start of his killing spree.
The union that represents him told Fox that they were aware of his trip to Mexico and claimed it was pre-planned visit. What’s unclear, though, why the group didn’t report his whereabouts in the days following the massacre. (NY Post)
Another odd detail about Campos is that he not a registered security guard with Nevada’s Private Investigator’s Licensing Board‐and when Fox pressed the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for answers about what requirements are needed to be a guard at the casino, an agent "refused to tell [the producer] what is needed" and said they don’t talk about victims. The agent then hung up.
"This story gets murkier by the day, and that is the opposite of what is supposed to happen," Carlson said. "It's obvious there is lying and incompetence at the heart of it."
[FoxNews] Oakland A’s catcher Bruce Maxwell, 26, claimed this week that a waiter in his Alabama hometown of Huntsville refused him service after identifying him as the MLB player who took the knee during "The Star Spangled Banner" last month ‐ only the waiter has a very different version of events, and told Fox News that was far from what went down.
"He is outright lying. This is really upsetting as he was given full service, I didn’t even know who Bruce Maxwell was," Matt Henry, a 42-year-old waiter at Keegan’s Public House, told Fox News. "This all started because I carded his friend who wanted to order a beer."
According to Henry, an Alabama native, Maxwell was dining with local Democratic councilman Devyn Keith and another friend who produced an expired ID, and the server refused to serve him a drink ‐ which upset the friend, who followed him into the kitchen.
"He asked me, don’t you know who Bruce Maxwell is, and told me I was making everyone feel uncomfortable. Nobody was even paying attention to them," Henry claimed. "I didn’t know anything about him or the kneeling. All I know is a friend of mine 15 years ago lost his job for serving someone a drink who happened to be underage, so if anyone looks under 30, I’m going to card them."
The waiter said that the councilman then complained to the restaurant’s manager about Maxwell being uncomfortable, and the manager simply swapped me to another table, and that it was "no big deal."
The restaurant manager on duty that day, Anne Whalen ‐ who requested the restaurant name not be used without permission from the owner ‐ also told Fox News that Maxwell’s story being portrayed in the media could not be further from the truth.
"Matt came to me and told me that a guy wanted a beer but his ID was not valid and told him he absolutely could not give it to him, we can go to jail for that in the state of Alabama. It was his friend causing all the fuss, none of us even knew who this baseball player was. I told him I had no idea who he was going on about," Whalen said. "Eventually Matt just asked if we could put another server on the table so I did. ... I can’t believe the story."
Whalen said that of the three men, Maxwell was the only one who produced a valid ID and thus was the only one they served a beer to.
However, Maxwell told TMZ Sports this week ‐ and headlines since have spanned the globe ‐ that the waiter said to him, "You’re the guy who took the knee?" After confirming he was, Maxwell alleged that the waiter then responded, "I voted for Trump, and I stand for everything he stands for," and then refused to serve him.
This allegedly prompted the councilman, who is a high school friend and is African-American, to approach the restaurant’s manager who then mitigated the situation by putting another waiter on their table.
"We didn’t even discuss Trump. I was working two jobs, I don’t have time for rallies," Henry continued. "If this all happened a month ago, why suddenly now is he claiming all this now?"
The pro-baseball rookie also claimed to TMZ that he was racially profiled by the server, of which Henry vehemently denies.
"It’s really easy for people to point a finger at Alabama, and that’s what has upset me about this fabrication the most," Henry noted. "This is one of the best places to live in America, if not the planet. Hearing this was a slap in the face."
Henry also noted that Maxwell was very polite during the meal, never raising any eyebrows. Whalen said that the men happily paid their bill without objection and left after their meal.
Maxwell became the first and only MLB player to kneel during the national anthem at a game against the Texas Rangers on September 23. He is also the son of a U.S. Army veteran and previously stated that the point of his kneeling was not to disrespect the military, but to draw attention to the "racial divide that is being practiced from the highest power."
"Unless you’re subjected to it, you won’t feel it," Maxwell also told TMZ. "I’m very respectful, I’m very educated. And it still happens to this day. And so ... that’s the reason I kneel."
Henry told Fox News that he started at the local restaurant a couple of months ago, but left two weeks ago only because of health issues from working two jobs and now is working only one.
A spokesperson for the Oakland A’s told Fox News that the club has no comment, and that Maxwell stands by his story and is not doing further interviews at this time.
A representative for Keith did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Keith previously told the Washington Post that the whole incident was "an embarrassment."

Another wanna-be who is soon to be released, and can get with his outa work NFL loser mentor to start some sort of pro athelete wank fest.
They could even rewrite the National anthem; just think of the possibilities with the new line in the lyrics: " From knee to whining knee..."
Still, it's pretty dumb to deny a drink to someone who produces an expired ID. There is no requirement that the ID be valid (i.e. unexpired) unless produced for the specific purpose of the ID (i.e. travel for a passport, operating a motor vehicle for a driver's license). For a bar, the point of the ID is to provide proof of age.

ZF is correct. I just looked up MA law (MGL Ch. 138. Sec 34B) - there's no 'expired license' exception for taking a MA license as a valid ID to purchase booze.

[NYPost] What’s the difference between the infamous Russian dossier on Donald Trump and that random fake-news story you saw on Facebook last year? The latter was never used by America’s intelligence community to bolster its case for spying on American citizens nor was it the foundation for a year’s worth of media coverage.
Then again, you get what you pay for. We now know Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee paid as much as $9 million for the discredited dossier on Trump.
According to The Washington Post, a lawyer named Marc Elias, who represented both the 2016 Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, had hired Fusion GPS, a DC firm working on behalf of the Russian government to soften sanctions at the time, to provide opposition research for them. The firm then hired a former British spy named Christopher Steele who reportedly purchased salacious rumors about Trump from the Russians.

A San Diego-based destroyer aided three Iranian civilian mariners who reported being attacked by pirates off Yemen, the Navy said Wednesday.
A boarding team from the USS Howard provided medical aid, food and water to the fishermen and helped make repairs to their boat on Monday, according to the Navy.
The pirate attack was reported by the Iranian coast guard in a call to the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, which sent a patrol aircraft to the area.
The Howard responded to the scene along with the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force destroyer JS Amagiri.
Despite rising tensions with Iran and its revolutionary guards, rescues by the U.S. Navy of Iranian civilian mariners having some sort of trouble aren't uncommon.

See, that's the thing about boomerangs...they come back at ya
Veteran journalist Mark Halperin sexually harassed women while he was in a powerful position at ABC News, according to five women who shared their previously undisclosed accounts with CNN and others who did not experience the alleged harassment personally, but were aware of it.
"During this period, I did pursue relationships with women that I worked with, including some junior to me," Halperin said in a statement to CNN Wednesday night. "I now understand from these accounts that my behavior was inappropriate and caused others pain. For that, I am deeply sorry and I apologize. Under the circumstances, I'm going to take a step back from my day-to-day work while I properly deal with this situation."
Widely considered to be one of the preeminent political journalists, Halperin, 52, has, among other career highlights, been political director at ABC News; co-authored the bestselling book "Game Change," which was made into an HBO movie starring Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin; and anchored a television show on Bloomberg TV. "He currently serves as an analyst for NBC News, making frequent appearances on MSNBC's "Morning Joe", and is featured in Showtime's "The Circus," a show that chronicled the 2016 campaign cycle and the early days of the Trump presidency, and has a project in development with HBO, which, like CNN, is owned by Time Warner.
But women who spoke to CNN say he also had a dark side not made public until now. The stories of harassment shared with CNN range in nature from propositioning employees for sex to kissing and grabbing one's breasts against her will. Three of the women who spoke to CNN described Halperin as, without consent, pressing an erection against their bodies while he was clothed. Halperin denies grabbing a woman's breasts and pressing his genitals against the three women.
The women who worked with Halperin and who spoke with CNN did not report to Halperin. However, Halperin made many decisions about political coverage at ABC News, and had a voice in some critical personnel decisions. None of the women have said, though, that he ever promised anything in exchange for sex, or suggested that he would retaliate against anyone.
Still, while they no longer work with him, Halperin continues to wield influence in politics and media.

[Dallas Morning News] On a moonless night, an Army Chinook helicopter swept low over the Tangi Valley, a strip of forbidding terrain in eastern Afghanistan teeming with Taliban and located just 35 miles south of the capital, Kabul.
Among the 38 occupants inside the Chinook were some of the most highly trained and battle-seasoned fighters in the U.S. military, including 15 commandos from the Navy’s SEAL Team 6, the unit that three months earlier had killed Osama bin Laden. Their target was a Taliban commander responsible for ambushes and other attacks against U.S. and Afghan forces.
Missions like this one to insert or remove an assault force are the military equivalent of a perfect 10 in the Olympics -- equal parts skill, experience and daring.

[DailyMail] An Islamic convert who spent nearly a decade in prison after becoming the only Spaniard to be convicted over the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York, has been tossed in the calaboose Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un! over his alleged links to ISIS.
The 52-year-old, believed to be convicted Al Qaeda terrorist Luis Jose Galan Gonzalez, was held in Madrid on suspicion of 'recruiting, indoctrinating and training' new ISIS members.
Spain's Interior Ministry did not name him in a statement confirming the detention and claiming he had encouraged others to commit terrorist acts.
But they made his identity clear by describing him as 'the first person convicted in Spain over the terror attacks in New York on September 11' and revealing he had left prison in May 2011 after 'spending more than nine years in prison for membership or integration in a terrorist organization and illegal possession of firearms.'
Madrid-born Gonzalez was interviewed by a local paper in Murcia, south east Spain, after leaving jail on May 9 2011 following nine and a half years behind bars for belonging to a terrorist organization and illegally possessing weapons.
The convicted terrorist, 46 at the time and calling himself Yusuf Galan, was described then as the only Spaniard convicted over the Twin Towers attacks.
The Interior Ministry said the suspect they had held had developed a 'sophisticated modus operandi' to try to disseminate information on the Internet without being caught.
A front man said in a statement, where he referred to ISIS by its acronym DAESH: 'He collected an important amount of material which he housed simultaneously in several profiles or in instant messaging transmissions so he could reach the greatest number of people.
'He used the sort of language which is normal in these forums, commenting, linking and sharing content as part of DAESH's global strategy of using the Internet as a means of transmitting terrorist ideological values.
'Along with this ideological indoctrination, another fundamental pillar in his criminal strategy was to carry out operative training in combat techniques of other people.
'To do that he published videos in which he appeared using knives with great skill, alongside highly explicit messages, directed towards the commission of terrorist acts.
'He specifically focused on the psychological preparation of new recruits, who he prepared mentally so they would finally show their willing to commit terrorist acts.'
Galan was one of 11 people arrested in November 2001 in connection with the New York attacks in an operation dubbed Datil - Date in Spanish.
He was accused of belonging to Al Qaeda's Spanish network and travelling to Indonesia to receive military training.
He was involved with far-left Basque nationalist political party Herri Batasuna before embracing Islam.

[IsraelTimes] Russian firm acknowledges its software picked up source code but says it was destroyed and never shown to anyone
The Russian company Kaspersky Lab confirmed that it had taken source code for a secret American hacking tool via its antivirus software.
The company’s internal investigation came after Israeli intelligence discovered that Russian hackers were using the antivirus software to steal classified information from the United States.
Kaspersky’s anti-virus program is used by 400 million people worldwide, including officials at about two dozen American government agencies.
Source code for a secret American hacking tool was stolen from a National Security Agency employee who had improperly stored it on his home computer, which used Kaspersky antivirus software.
The company said it discovered the code in 2014 in a ZIP file that its software flagged as malicious. Kaspersky said it destroyed its only copy and that no third parties saw the code, though other reports dispute the claim.
According to Kaspersky, it found no evidence that the company had been hacked by the Russians or anyone else except Israel, though it suggested others could have hacked into the American official’s computer through a back door it identified.
The hack was discovered by the company a year later and publicly reported, though it did not name Israel as the culprit. Kaspersky’s report did state, however, that the program was similar to the Duqu virus, which allows the hacker to eavesdrop on conversations and steal electronic files.
Duqu was attributed to the inventors of Stuxnet, the computer worm that set back Iran’s nuclear program by several months or years by affecting some of its computer systems and centrifuges used to enrich uranium after it was released in 2010. Stuxnet was reported to be a joint project of Israel and the United States.
[AlAhram] Egypt's Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest on Tuesday of 12 members of rhe Hasm terrorist group in Fayoum governorate, 100 kilometres southwest of Cairo.
The group members were planning to conduct a number of attacks within Egypt, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The suspects confessed to joining a group called "Hasm Vanguards" and received training on the use of firearms and preparing IED's, said the ministry.
Police made the arrests based on intelligence provided by Homeland Security, seizing weapons and ammunition during a raid, according to the statement.
The Hasm group has grabbed credit for a number of deadly attacks against Egyptian security personnel in recent months, mostly targeting police checkpoints.
Egyptian security forces have incarcerated Please don't kill me! and killed dozens of suspected Hasm members in the past few months.
Authorities say Hasm is linked to the banned Moslem Brüderbund group.

[TheLocal.de] Berlin police said on Wednesday they had tossed in the clink Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! an alleged Islamist holy warrior during overnight raids and seized a cache of weapons but found no evidence of an imminent attack.
The suspect, an unnamed 40-year-old German citizen, will come before a judge later in the day, the police and the public prosecutor said in a joint statement.
The raids at four sites in the German capital - including on properties in Charlottenburg and Reinickendorf - allowed police to "seize weapons, weapon parts and large quantities of ammunition," according to the statement, which did not give details about the type of arms found.
"Due to concerns they could be used for attacks, Berlin prosecutors took over the investigation," the authorities said.
"After it was determined that (the suspect) displayed an increased willingness to use violence, it was decided to arrest him. The suspicion of weapon possession was confirmed, without any evidence so far of a concrete attack plan."
The suspect came to their attention in the course of another criminal probe, they added.
Later, police front man Winfrid Wenzel clarified that officers found handguns, rifles and 20 to 30 cases of ammunition during the raids, and that the suspect was a regular at mosques of "particular interest" to authorities. Wenzel added that the man "might have been pursuing an idea" to launch an attack, or been planning to give them to others who were.
[AlAhram] The Trump administration will temporarily delay processing of most refugees from 11 countries identified as high-risk, while resuming refugee admissions for other countries, government officials said on Tuesday. Most of the affected countries are in the Middle East and Africa, according to documents seen by Rooters.
The administration also will place on hold a program that allows for family reunification for some refugees resettled in the United States, according to a Trump administration memo seen by Rooters and sent to Congress on Tuesday. The resettling of so-called following-to-join refugees will resume, according to the memo, once screening "enhancements have been implemented."
U.S. officials said the changes were aimed at protecting U.S. national security, but refugee advocates said they amounted to a de facto ban on refugees from the 11 countries and were unnecessary, since refugees are already heavily vetted.

[Ynet] Nearly 30,000 Kurds have been displaced from a multi-ethnic city south of Kirkuk where sectarian tension flared after Iraqi forces took control of it, humanitarian organizations said on Wednesday.
Most of those displaced from Tuz Khurmato are in need of urgent aid and staying in open shelters, officials from two international humanitarian organizations told Rooters.
A third, Amnesia Amnesty International, said on Tuesday that satellite images, videos, photos and dozens of testimonies indicate that hundreds of properties were looted, set on fire and destroyed in what appeared to be a assassination on predominantly Kurdish areas of the city of about 100,000 people.
The Kurds fled after Kurdish Peshmerga fighters withdrew from the city on Oct. 16, as government forces and Iranian-backed Sh'ite Popular Mobilisation moved in in retaliation for an independence referendum held by the Kurdistan region authorities last month.
Half a decade or so back, I wrote: "It's a good basic axiom that if you take a quart of ice-cream and a quart of dog feces and mix 'em together the result will taste more like the latter than the former. That's the problem with the U.N."
Absolutely right, if I do say so myself. When you make the free nations and the thug states members of the same club, the danger isn't that they'll meet each other half-way but that the free world winds up going three-quarters, seven-eighths of the way.
That's how it went last Friday when the World Health Organization, ostensibly one of the least nutty operating units of the UN (compared with, say, the Human Rights Council), announced that Robert Mugabe was being appointed a WHO "Goodwill Ambassador". Mr Mugabe's idea of "goodwill" is to send his goons round to your farmhouse to announce he's stealing your land - and, if you're minded to object, kill your farm workers or wife or kid. When Zimbabwe's nonagenarian monster goes Goodwill hunting, best not to stand in his path.
Yesterday the WHO was forced to back down. But how did it ever get as far as an official announcement? Mugabe's greatest contribution to "world health" has been to raise the comparative life expectancy of every other country by dramatically reducing his own over his first quarter-century:
Life expectancy in Zimbabwe, 1980: 59.39 years
Life expectancy in Zimbabwe, 2005: 41.76 years
In fairness, this wasn't accomplished merely through killing people. He also starves his hospitals of basic drugs and materials, while jetting off to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur for the world-class medical treatment that keeps him remarkably spry at the age of 93.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) is starting to lose patience with the stonewalling FBI and DOJ.
He told Fox News host Bill Hemmer on "America's Newsroom" this morning that as interesting as the question of who paid for the "dirty dossier" is, the real question is whether the Justice Dept. and the FBI relied upon its dubious "findings" to launch the Russia investigation.
"I want to know whether the nation's premier law enforcement agency relied on a document that looks like the National Enquirer prepared it," Gowdy, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said.
[The Hill] The Justice Department on Wednesday night released a former FBI informant from a confidentiality agreement, allowing him to testify before Congress about what he witnessed undercover about the Russian nuclear industry’s efforts to win favorable decisions during the Obama administration.
Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores confirmed to The Hill a deal had been reached clearing the informant to talk to Congress for the first time, nearly eight years after he first went undercover for the FBI.
"As of tonight, the Department of Justice has authorized the informant to disclose to the Chairmen and Ranking Members of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, as well as one member of each of their staffs, any information or documents he has concerning alleged corruption or bribery involving transactions in the uranium market, including but not limited to anything related to Vadim Mikerin, Rosatom, Tenex, Uranium One, or the Clinton Foundation," she said.
Multiple congressional committees have been seeking to interview the informant, whose name has not been released publicly, because he stayed undercover for nearly five years providing agents information on Russia’s aggressive efforts to grow its atomic energy business in America.

[The Hill] Current and past leaders of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) say they had no knowledge that the national party was helping to fund a dossier compiled by a British spy that contained scandalous accusations about President Trump.
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC paid millions to the law firm Perkins Coie, where Democratic lawyer Marc Elias worked with the opposition research firm Fusion GPS to construct the memo, which was compiled by British spy Christopher Steele.
The memo is at the center of several investigations into Russian meddling and it may have been used by the FBI as part of its investigation into allegations that Trump campaign officials had improper contacts with Russian officials. Former FBI Director James Comey has said none of the allegations in the memo have been verified.
The bombshell Washington Post report has emboldened President Trump, who on Wednesday lashed out at the "fake dossier" and described it as the cornerstone of "the whole Russia hoax."
DNC communications director Xochitl Hinojosa said chairman Tom Perez, who only became the Democratic leader in April, had nothing to do with the arrangement. The law firm Perkins Coie handles a range of issues for the DNC.
"Tom Perez and the new leadership of the DNC were not involved in any decision-making regarding Fusion GPS, nor were they aware that Perkins Coie was working with the organization," Hinojosa said. "But let’s be clear, there is a serious federal investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, and the American public deserves to know what happened."
But wait a minute. Past leaders like Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and/or Donna Brazille? Those past leaders? They denied it? Because they denied other things too and now we all know better.

Can you really trust anything put out by anyone at the DNC?
[TheFederalist] Claiming that President Trump’s intemperate tone voids an entire legal proceeding is ludicrous, and in doing so Bowe Bergdahl’s legal team is questioning Anglo-American legal fundamendals.
[WRKO] Sen. Elizabeth Warren Dem Senatrix from Massachussetts, who traces her noble lineage all the way back to Big Chief Spouting Bull. It has been alleged that she speaks with forked tongue but she denies that...
has just jumped the shark. The Massachusetts Democrat has been caught lying about being a victim of sexual harassment. The question is: Will the GOP hold her accountable? If they do, this scandal may be too much even for the progressive icon to withstand.
Recently, Warren went on “Meet the Press,” claiming she had a “Me Too” story as well—in reference to the #MeToo campaign, which began after the Harvey Weinstein allegations by countless women as a way to give voice to their experiences of sexual assault and harassment.
“I was a baby law professor and so excited to have my first real teaching job and there was a senior faculty member who would tell dirty jokes and make comments about my appearance,” she said. “And one day he asked me if I would stop by his office, which I didn’t think much about, and I did, and he slammed the door and lunged for me. It was like a bad cartoon. He’s chasing me around the desk trying to get his hands on me and I kept saying ‘You don’t want to do this. You don’t want to do this. I have little children at home. Please don’t do this.’”
The faculty member Warren is referring to is law professor Eugene Smith, who was her mentor and close friend at the University of Houston.
Warren conveniently—and deliberately—left out a seminal fact: Smith suffered from polio. He was unable to walk or move around without a wheelchair or crutches. According to his former colleagues, Smith’s polio was so severe they felt pity for him.

[THECONSERVATIVETREEHOUSE] A disturbed individual named Ryan Clayton came within inches of the President of the U.S. and Majority Leader of the Senate today while, inside the Capitol Building and embedded with the press pool.
How this unbalanced person was capable of hiding within a credentialed and security processed press pool is a little unnerving. He’s within a few feet of the president when he launches his confrontation. Did members of the press pool facilitate the attack? It would seem likely.

Did Ryan Clayton pull the short straw or something?
Even though this picture is of Ryan Clayton, this one time I really wouldn't mind the mods removing this disgusting picture (and comment) of the true nature of this frickin fairy.

I've met Ryan Clayton more than once. He is the same guy who organized and coordinated the "russian flag" stunt at CPAC earlier this year.
He is an arrogant nutjob and jackass and President of Americans Take Action, an anti-Trump PAC.
The alternative reality that he built up in his mind is imploding, leading to this latest stunt which is nothing more than a transparent and pathetically desperate attempt to deflect from all of the seriously damaging news coming out now about HRC, the 0bama admin, the DNC, the Trump dossier, and the Uranium One scandals.
He is also a rabble-rousing attention whore drunk on his own delusions; an unscrupulous pied piper of the Trump-hating millennial crowd. He is unable to accept that HRC lost and Trump won the election and is living proof of the consequences of acute cognitive dissonance. I hope they throw the book at him and we never see or hear from him again.
Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Security troops have killed an Islamic State militant while transferring explosives in northeast of Diyala, a security source said on Wednesday.
“A driver on board of a Mercedes vehicle tried to pass quickly through three security checkpoints in Qurret Tapa, northeast of Diyala,” the source told Alghad Press on Wednesday. “Security troops managed to follow the militant.”
“After besieging and opening fire against him, the militant tried to leave the vehicle and run away through al-Qasaba al-Qadima region, however, troops were able to kill him.”
Explosives were found in the car, the source said.
Earlier this month, Iraqi troops regained full control on Hamreen mountains that stretch out between Diyala and Kirkuk provinces, retaking areas between Zgheitoun bridge reaching until al-Fatha bridge, an area that stretches out 45 kilometers with depth of 15 kilometers.

[PRESSTV] The stalemate in Afghanistan will not improve unless the United States acknowledges its defeat in the country, says Pak Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif.
"Their failures over the past 16 years [since the war in Afghanistan started] is before them," Asif said Wednesday, while briefing the Pak Senate on Wednesday about the talks he held the previous day with an American delegation led by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
Asif told politicians that US policymakers, and not their military commanders, needed to drop the failed military plan and devise a political solution.
"There will only be room for improvement if Washington accepts their defeat, their failures in Afghanistan," Asif said. "They are not ready to accept this."
"Our country, our military and our police have made sacrifices in the war and in return, we have gained unmatched success," the foreign minister said, rebuking claims by the administration of US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... that Pakistain was not doing enough to fight the Taliban ...Arabic for students... and the ISIS terrorist groups in Afghanistan.
The new Republican president denounced the Pak government for offering safe haven to "agents of chaos" in a speech in April, when he revealed Washington’s plans for prolonged military presence in Afghanistan by sending 3,000 more troops to the country.

Here's the thing. Apparently tonight's game is the Cravens vs. Daphnes. I say apparently, because the spot sauntered past me on the program guide. Before I have been, what the hell, see who wins, enjoy a game when I don't have a dog in the fight, amiright Vick?
I have given myself the choice, and I choose instead Ash vs. Evil Dead.
And football, not as fast as everyone says. Still takes three hours, same as baseball, but without all the commercial blocks and referee dissertations.
Want fast, hockey is on. They actually throw players into the penalty box for trying to play the referees. Fuckayoo soccer boy, in the box!

[Al Jazeera] Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates... has reiterated its readiness for dialogue to solve the GCC crisis and called on its citizens and media outlets to refrain from attacking "Gulf symbols".
A statement by Qatar's foreign ministry on Tuesday was in response to a call by the Kuwaiti emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, for all sides to de-escalate the ongoing Gulf crisis.
The statement said Doha "hailed the appeal" made by the Kuwaiti leader and did not seek to "escalate the situation".
"In line with the approach laid down by HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in his address to the people of Qatar on 21 July 2017, calls upon citizens, residents and all media in Qatar to avoid slipping into the abuse of Gulf symbols," the statement read.

[Libya Observer] The advisor of the dialogue committee of the High Council of State (HCS) in Tunisia talks, Ashraf al-Sheh, said they provided moderate forms for the amendments needed to be done to the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) in the second round in Tunis.
Al-Sheh told the Italian news agency Aki on Monday that three of the House of Representatives (HoR) dialogue committee members rejected the HCS's forms and demanded a constitution-guaranteed post for Khalifa Haftar ... served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all... in the Libyan upcoming government, which took the talks back to the drawing board, he remarked.
Two days of suspension of talks by the HoR members delayed the progress of the negotiations as they protested what they described as "unclarity" of the HCS's demands, then resumed after they conditioned it to receiving written ideas and forms of amendments by the HCS.
The HCS said the HoR committee is the one hindering the talks, adding that they did not present any written forms of amendments proposals, whereas other sources said that several HoR members insisted to remove Article 08 of the additional provisions in order to approve the amendments.
Meanwhile, ...back at the shouting match, Bart was wondering if fisticuffs would be appropriate at this point... Eissa al-Aribi - a member at the HoR committee - said Wednesday that the members of the Justice and Construction Party (Political Arm of Moslem Brüderbund in Libya) must be dismissed from the HCS's committee in order to reach consensus, adding that they are trying to fail the talks as they are clinging to leaving Article 08 intact and demanding voting - like the HoR - for the selection of the new Presidential Council.
Pro-Haftar HoR members have announced time and time again their utter rejection to the LPA as it shelves Haftar, whom they tried more than once to include in any sort of future common ground agreement, while at the same time the HCS remains in strong refusal to make any concessions in that regard, leaving the talks option dangling not knowing to which party it should swing.

[WASHINGTONTIMES] Perennial Presidential Campaigner Hillary Crooked Hillary Clinton ... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away... ’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee violated campaign finance law by failing to disclose payments for a dossier on Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... , according to a complaint filed Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission.
The complaint from the nonprofit Campaign Legal Center said the Democrats effectively hid the payments from public scrutiny, contrary to the requirements of federal law. By law, campaign and party committees must disclose the reason money is spent and its recipient.
"By filing misleading reports, the DNC and Clinton campaign undermined the vital public information role of campaign disclosures," said Adav Noti, senior director of trial litigation and strategy at CLC and a former FEC official. "Voters need campaign disclosure laws to be enforced so they can hold candidates accountable for how they raise and spend money. The FEC must investigate this apparent violation and take appropriate action."
Media reports on Tuesday alleged that a lawyer for the Clinton campaign hired Fusion GPS to investigate Mr. Trump in April 2016. The private research firm reportedly hired Remington Christopher Steele, a former British spy with ties to the FBI, to conduct the opposition research, and he compiled a dossier containing allegations about Mr. Trump’s connections to Russia.
The Clinton campaign and the DNC funded the effort until the end of October 2016, just days before the election.
"Questions about who paid for this dossier are the subject of intense public interest, and this is precisely the information that FEC reports are supposed to provide," said Brendan Fischer, director of federal and FEC reform at CLC. "Payments by a campaign or party committee to an opposition research firm are legal, as long as those payments are accurately disclosed. But describing payments for opposition research as ’legal services’ is entirely misleading and subverts the reporting requirements."

[Al Jazeera] Using "The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... will be good" as its slogan and a bright sun as its logo, ex-Ottoman Turkish minister Meral Aksener has launched a new political party with a promise to shake up the country's politics.
"Turkey and its people are tired, the state is worn down and public order is unraveling," Aksener told hundreds of enthusiastic supporters at the founding event of the Good (Iyi) Party in the capital, Ankara, on Wednesday.
"There is no other way [for Turkey] than a change in the political climate," said the 61-year-old, a prominent right-wing politician and former interior minister.
The party, which has adopted a centre-right platform, has been backed by five members of Turkey's 550-seat parliament, as well as other well-known public figures named in its its constituent structure.
It lists pluralism, democracy, the rule of law, freedom of speech and nationalist values as some of its founding principles
"Democracy is under threat and the government's justice is above all else," said Aksener, in an attack against the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), led by President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him... "The primary quality of the state should be fairness for its own people," she added, criticising the government for "eradicating" state balances.
In response to supporters chanting to her, "Prime minister," Aksener said: "I will be president".

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Five Federal Police personnel were killed in an armed attack launched by Islamic State militants in western Mosul, a police source said on Wednesday.
“Seven IS militants attacked a checkpoint for Federal Police in al-Rifa’ie district. The confrontations left five personnel killed,” the source told BasNews.
“The attackers then ran away toward an unknown destination,” the source added.
According to residents from the region, the attackers were able to escape in the same region, however, troops carried out a campaign that lasted for more than an hour in search for them.
The accident is considered the second in two weeks, after a similar attack was carried out by three militants against Federal Police checkpoint in al-Zanjili, in Old City. The attack left a lieutenant general and two other personnel killed.
On July 10, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory over IS militants who had held the second largest Iraqi city since 2014. More than 25000 militants were killed throughout the campaign, which started in October 2016.
3 Iraqi soldiers die fighting Kurds in Mosul
Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Three Iraqi army soldiers died Tuesday in clashes with Kurdish Peshmerga forces north of Mosul, according to an army source.
Maj. Abbas al-Bayyati told Anadolu Agency that a force of the army’s elite Counter-Terrorism Service, backed by the 9th armoured division, advanced towards the town of Tel Saqf, a mainly Christian town north of Mosul, to impose federal security control there, but was met with fire from Peshmerga.
Bayyati told the agency three army members were killed while two others were injured. He said there were losses on the Peshmerga side, too, but could not give an exact toll.
He was quoted by the agency saying that Peshmerga troops will be handled as an enemy if they reject the call to withdraw.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Defense Ministry’s War Media Cell denied Kurdish media reports of clashes between Popular Mobilization Forces and Peshmerga in Mahmoudia and Rabia, Mosul, were inaccurate.

[FOXNEWS] President Trump, in a wide-ranging sparring session with news hounds Wednesday afternoon, blasted Perennial Presidential Campaigner Hillary Crooked Hillary Clinton ... former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away... over new revelations her campaign helped fund a salacious anti-Trump dossier last year ‐ calling the project a "disgrace" and claiming the tables have turned on Democrats over the "Russia hoax."
"They’re embarrassed by it, but I think it’s a disgrace," Trump told news hounds, before heading to Texas for a briefing on Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts and a Republican fundraiser. "It’s a very sad commentary on politics in this country."
In the midst of a court case that threatened to reveal the dossier’s funding, it emerged Tuesday night that political consulting firm Fusion GPS was retained last year by Marc E. Elias, an attorney representing the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign. The firm then hired former British intelligence officer Remington Christopher Steele to write the dossier that contained unverified and lurid allegations against Trump and his team’s ties to Moscow.

Maybe the hoax is turned around, but what is more important is whether or not the consequences are also turned around.
I think you forgot your /sarc tag, grom. They pleaded the Fifth in Congress. Then they went out for drinks and dinner. They'll be sorry if and when they ever have to do the perp walk but they lack the feelings of guilt and shame that most people have so they will not off themselves.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... -led militias in northern Aleppo province have asserted a clear intention to launch an offensive to capture the large town of Manbij, currently held by US-backed forces.
Yesterday, the Ottoman Turkish-backed factions of the Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... in northern Aleppo dispersed leaflets saying that Syrian rebels will seize the town of Manbij from US-backed forces "no matter what the cost is."
Manbij was captured from ISIS by the Syrian Democratic Forces in June 2016 after a two month battle. Following the Ottoman Turkish military intervention in northern Syria, Turkey demanded that all Kurdish militias in the Manbij region withdraw east of the Euphrates.
Officially, Manbij and the area around it is void of Kurdish fighters and only US-backed Arab factions of the Syrian Democratic Forces are present there (although there is little evidence to decisively prove this).
The town has constantly been a source of tension between Turkey-led militias and the US-backed forces.

Golden showers sounds more like something Slick Willy would actually do. According to the lefty media, Trump is a germaphobe. "Golden showers" never seemed like they were in Trump's wheelhouse. Since the dossier was faked, there is little need to think about it other than for prosecution purposes.
What I'd like to know is when is someone going to be doing the "perp walk" over the vast amount of corruption that occurred during the past administration? When that happens, I will begin to believe that we follow the rule of law and have one system of justice for all.
[FOXNEWS] Nikki Haley ...Trump administration's ambassador to the UN. First woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country, after Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. At the age of 39, Haley was the youngest governor in the U.S., a distinction formerly held by Jindal. She is a Republican, which really grates on the Dems... , the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... , was suddenly evacuated Wednesday from a U.N. camp in South Sudan after violence and looting broke out during a political demonstration. Cheeze. Almost as hairy as when Hillarity was under sniper fire at Tuzla.
Haley, who’s in the middle of a three-country visit in Africa, left the camp as several hundred protesters opposing President Salva Kiir approached, a spokesperson for the U.S. Mission to the U.N. told Fox News. The protesters "became upset that [Haley] was not able to meet with them, due to time constraint," the U.N. told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.
Shortly after Haley left the camp, which is meant for homeless and displaced residents, U.N. security guards fired tear gas into the crowd of more than 100 people who looted and destroyed a charity office operating there, an aid worker at the camp said.

This year I met a couple of UN workers on leave. They had worked in camps like this. One seemed to exhibit PTSD when talking about some of his experiences.
[Al Jazeera] Ottoman Turkish authorities have put 11 human rights ...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state... activists on trial, including the chairman of Amnesia Amnesty International in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... , Taner Kilic.
Those facing charges at Istanbul's Caglayan courthouse on Wednesday were enjugged Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un! in separate police raids in June and July and include one Swede and a German national.
Idil Eser, director of Amnesia Amnesty International Turkey, is also among those on trial.
Accusations include supporting groups that Turkey has proscribed as "terrorist" organizations, such as the Gulen movement, and Kurdish separatist factions.
A court in Istanbul on Wednesday said that German activist Peter Steudtner and 11 other human rights activists should be released on Wednesday after the Turkish public prosecutor requested an end to the pre-trial detention of the group.
It sounds like this is a for-the-duration-of-the-trial thingy, rather than sending them home for good.
The Turkish government has accused the group of "aiding armed terrorist organizations" through civil society actions in Turkey. The government has also accused the activists of being members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), far-left DHKP-C and the Gulen movement.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Capitalizing on a sandstorm that swept throughout Syria’s Deir Ezzor province yesterday, ISIS Lions of Islam launched a powerful assault against pro-government forces on the western bank of the Euphrates River.
Whilst most of the attacks came from the west, ISIS also launched an assault across the Euphrates from the east in what was an obvious attempt to surprise pro-government forces.
The main pro-government formation to encounter the ISIS cross-river assault was the Paleostinian Liwa al-Quds paramilitary group.
Fighters from the pro-government militia report that one of their positions near the Euphrates shoreline was the focus point of the ISIS assault.
In the end, Liwa al-Quds not only completely repelled the ISIS surprise attack, but also succeeded in killing dozens of Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... fighters as well as capturing several more.

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) launched a big assault in the Yarmouk Camp, today, targeting the neighborhoods controlled by Aknef Beit al-Maqdis and Jaish al-Islam ...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful... According to the terrorist group’s official media wing, their forces captured the Yarmouk Hospital and several buildings nearby after overtaking the Islamist fighters in the southern part of the district.
ISIS originally posted photos from the battle, showcasing their operation; however, they have since taken down the images.
Most of the Yarmouk Camp is under the occupation of the Islamic State, which leaves the remaining civilians inside the district at the mercy of the terrorist group.
While the Syrian Red Islamic Thingy and U.N. have attempted to deliver humanitarian aid to the beleaguered neighborhoods of Yarmouk, they have found themselves often blocked by the Islamic State Death Eaters manning checkpoints between this district and nearby Paleostine Camp.

[PRESSTV] The Nigerian military says it is investigating reports that one of the wives of Abubakar Shekau ... the lunatic leader of Boko Haram who has been reported dead at least eleven times, pledged his body and soul to ISIS, told his fighters to hang it up once or twice, and been fired by the Caliph and refused to step down ... , the leader of the Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... group, has been killed in a recent Arclight airstrike.
"Efforts are ongoing to confirm the reported killing of Shekau's wife, alongside other BHTs (Boko Haram terrorists)," said air force front man Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya on Tuesday, six days after an attack on Boko Haram Lions of Islam near Urga in the Konduga area in Borno state.
Adesanya said the air raid on October 19 targeted "a large gathering of Boko Haram terrorists" at the Durwawa settlement. He added that the attack killed scores of Lions of Islam on the ground and triggered a fire.
The official said that Shekau's wife, identified as Fitdasi, was "reported to have been representing her husband in a coordinating meeting with other holy warriors at the location of the Arclight airstrikes".
Fitdasi was thought to be one of Shekau's four wives. Nigerian army enjugged Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! another wife, Hassana Yakubu, in a raid in the northeastern city of Damaturu in 2012. She was released a year later along with the wives of several other top commanders of Boko Haram.
One of other wives of Shekau is a widow of Muhammad Yusuf, the founder and former leader of Boko Haram who died in jug in 2009.
Under Shekau’s leadership which began after Yusuf’s death, Boko Haram has led an insurgency in northern Nigeria and neighboring countries that has left around 20,000 people dead. Hundreds of thousands have also been displaced in the violence.

[ConservativeDailyPost] Rep. Bob Goodlatte, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, revealed a bombshell revelation about the Obama administration Tuesday. Former Attorney General Eric Holder manipulated his controversial "slush fund" to pump money into liberal causes.
"It is not every day in congressional investigations that we find a smoking gun," Goodlatte, R-Va., said Tuesday. "Here, we have it."
The Obama Justice Department struck up an unusual deal with prosecutors. Large corporations were forced to divert some of their settlement payments to outside groups that had no connection to their lawsuits.
"Republican lawmakers long have decried those payments as a ’slush fund’ that boosted liberal groups, and the Trump DOJ ended the practice earlier this year," Fox News reports.
The funds could have been used to help Americans, but instead, Holder and Obama used to money to pad liberal causes. Conservative groups were more than overlooked, they were explicitly excluded.
"Aiding their political allies was only the half of it," Goodlatte said. "The evidence of the Obama DOJ’s abuse of power shows that... (his) team went out of its way to exclude conservative groups."
The Obama administration repeatedly discriminated against conservatives. The man who was deemed the next great American hope turned out to be a typical politician. He used his Justice Department to reward his friends and supporters.
"When the federal government settles a case against a corporate wrongdoer, any settlement funds should go first to the victims and then to the American people ‐ not to bankroll third-party special interest groups or the political friends of whoever is in power," current Attorney General Jeff Sessions said.
Obama was a smooth talker. People were so distracted by his honeyed words that they were tricked into thinking that he was an upstanding guy. The Obama administration was as corrupt as any other, perhaps more so, yet liberals remember him as an honest politician.
Goodlatte’s uncovered emails show that Justice Department officials complained about Holder’s process.
"Concerns include: a) not allowing Citi to pick a statewide intermediary like the Pacific Legal Foundation (does conservative property-rights legal services)," the official wrote under the title of "Acting Senior Counselor for Access to Justice."
"We are more likely to get the right result from a state bar association affiliated entity."
The Justice Department wasn’t supposed to involve itself in choosing recipients for its slush fund but it’s clear that they did.
"We are flattered that the previous administration would be concerned enough about our success vindicating individual liberty and property rights to prevent settlement funds from making their way to Pacific Legal Foundation," PLF CEO Steven D. Anderson said in a statement.
The groups who were lucky enough to be funded obviously expressed a different view of the scheme.
"Now that it has been more than 24 hours for us all to try and digest the Bank of America settlement, I would like to discuss ways we might want to recognize and show appreciation for the Department of Justice and specifically Associate Attorney General Tony West," wrote Charles R. Dunlap, executive director of the Indiana Bar, in a 2014 email.
He added that West "by all accounts was the one person most responsible...for the Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts group receiving money."
"Frankly, I would be willing to have us build a statue [of West] and then we could bow down to this statue each day after we get our $200,000," someone crudely responded to Dunlap’s email.
Obama and Holder probably thought that their secrets were buried. Obama, in particular, has been sure to keep his name in the public’s eye. He’s even gone back to giving political speeches. It’s hard to believe that he would seek so much publicity if he knew his crimes were going to be revealed.

Where were the Pubs during this time? Most people here in fly-over land understood Obama's corruption dating back to 2009. Were the Pubs busy with Kabuki theater and tap-dancing? The swamp is indeed vast. It will take some time to drain.
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A deadly Arclight airstrike targeted a large gathering of the Taliban ...Arabic for students... faceless myrmidons in western Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... province of Afghanistan, leaving scores of hard boyz dead or maimed, the local government officials said.
The Arclight airstrike was carried out on Tuesday in the vicinity of Chest Sharif district of Herat as nearly 300 Taliban faceless myrmidons had gathered for a meeting.
The provincial government media office in a statement confirmed the Arclight airstrike and said heavy casualties were inflicted to the Taliban Lion of Islams.
However, those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... the provincial government said the exact number of the Taliban faceless myrmidons killed in the Arclight airstrike has not been ascertaiend so far.
The statement by the provincial government further added that the Taliban faceless myrmidons were forced to flee the area after the Arclight airstrike was carried out.
It is yet not clear for what reason the meeting was organized by the Taliban faceless myrmidons but the provincial government said the Arclight airstrike was carried out based on a tip off received from the area.
The anti-government armed bad boy groups including the Taliban faceless myrmidons have not commented regarding the report so far.

Maybe they should hold and annual reunion to mark the event.
[Al Jazeera] A 90-day ban on a popular Swahili daily in Tanzania - the fourth newspaper to be shut down since June - has prompted concern over press freedom in the East African country.
Journalists and activists urged President John Magufuli on Wednesday to overturn the ban on the Tanzania Daima newspaper, and accused him of undermining the country's democracy by muzzling the media.
The call came a day after the opposition-leaning paper, which has a daily circulation of 30,000, was shut down for three-months. Authorities accused it of continuously spreading "false information" after it published an incorrect claim about the number of Tanzanians taking anti-retroviral drugs used to treat HIV.

[Al Jazeera] Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... of Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS), according to Qatari state media.
Qatar's National Counter-Terrorism Committee said in a statement on Wednesday the individuals and entities would face asset freezes and travel bans, in a move that shows "Qatar's strong and continuous commitment to combatting terrorism and terrorism financing".
"We are committed to taking the necessary steps to defeat terrorism in all its forms, and will continue to work closely with the United States to impose sanctions on those who facilitate terrorist activity," Major-General Abdulaziz A Al Ansari was quoted as saying by Qatar News Agency.
The announcement signalled rare cooperation between Qatar and some fellow members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) that have blockaded it for nearly five months.
GCC members Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... , United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, along with Egypt, imposed the blockade on June 5, accusing Qatar of supporting "terrorism and extremism" - an accusation Doha vehemently denies.
"In terms of the Gulf crisis that we've seen over the last several months, Qatar is making sure it underlines that it is at the forefront of combatting terror," said Al Jazeera's senior analyst Marwan Bishara.
Qatar signed an agreement in July with the US on intelligence and finance cooperation in tackling "terrorism".
The Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC) was created in May and involves the US and the six members of the GCC: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman.
"Both aim at the same objective which is how to make sure that in the global Gulf region there are no individuals and no entities that would be financing or abetting terrorism," Bishara said.
The TFTC's decision to impose sanctions was first announced on Wednesday by US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who was speaking at a conference in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
"It's fascinating that Arab leaders are incapable of taking any single serious initiative that concerns their safety - the safety of their citizens, the wellbeing of their countries - without America and the American agenda bringing them together," said Bishara.

Travel bans? How about a visit from SEAL Team Six.
[DailyMail] In two weeks it is the first anniversary of Donald Trump’s astonishing US election victory.
To ’celebrate’, thousands of Trump-hating liberals in cities like Boston, New York and Philadelphia are planning a day of protest in which they will go outside, stare upwards and shout their little heads off in rage.
I’m not joking.
The planned event is actually titled on Facebook: ’Scream helplessly at the sky on the anniversary of the election’.
Organizer Johanna Schulman told Newsweek: ’This administration has attacked everything about what it means to be an American. Who wouldn’t feel helpless every day?’
Hmmm.
Well, let me try to explain, Johanna, if you haven’t already started preemptively screaming.
There are tens of millions of Americans right now who don’t feel helpless at all. In fact, they’ve never felt happier that they’ve finally got a guy in the White House who THEY believe stands up for THEM.
They don’t share YOUR view of what it means to be an American.
They share Trump’s view, because it’s THEIR view.
That’s why he was elected President, and that’s why I am beginning to think he will be comfortably re-elected in 2020.
For those who think I’ve gone completely mad, here is what I told British GQ magazine in September, 2015, when they asked me: Who will win the US election?
’I think Donald Trump will win the Republican nomination,’ I answered. ’The Democrats will only stand a chance of beating him if they ditch Hillary Clinton, who is now a busted flush, and go with Joe Biden, possibly with Elizabeth Warren as his running mate.’ My kingdom for the Bluesmobile and a laugh track.

[LAWNEWZ] Another woman said Tuesday that movie mogul Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted her. Mimi Haleyi, represented by attorney Gloria Allred, said he lured her to a SoHo loft in 2006, where he backed her into what seemed to be a children’s bedroom, and forcibly performed oral sex on her. She was having her period at the time and he pulled out her tampon during the sexual assault, she said.

Attorney Gloria Allred is involved in this? Why does that always diminish my notions about any legal actions and legal case when she is involved?
OK, we get the message that Weinstein is a sleaze that for years used his power as gatekeeper to movie careers to take advantage of people. But this is starting to look like attention-whoring and piling on. Expect even more lurid tales in the coming (heh) weeks since just being groped is no longer front page news.
[WashingtonTimes] An investigation into official flight records of financier and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s "Lolita Express" are once again dragging former President Bill Clinton into the national spotlight.
Flight logs obtained by Gawker in January 2015 put Mr. Clinton on the billionaire’s infamous jet more than a dozen times ‐ sometimes with a woman whom federal prosecutors suspect of procuring underage sex victims for Mr. Epstein. Fox News reported Friday that records show Mr. Clinton declined Secret Service protection on at least five flights.
The network’s investigation reveals Mr. Clinton flew on the Boeing 727 "Lolita Express" 26 times, more than doubling the previously reported 11 trips.
"Bill Clinton ... associated with a man like Jeffrey Epstein, who everyone in New York, certainly within his inner circles, knew was a pedophile. Why would a former president associate with a man like that?" said Conchita Sarnoff of the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit Alliance to Rescue Victims of Trafficking, Fox reported. Ms. Sarnoff also authored a book on Mr. Epstein titled "TrafficKing."
Mr. Epstein was arrested in 2005 and signed a plea agreement in 2007 with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, accepting a single charge of soliciting prostitution. He agreed to a 30-month sentence, registered as a "Tier 1" sex offender with the U.S. Virgin Islands and paid dozens of young girls under a federal statute providing for compensation to victims of child sexual abuse.
A Clinton spokesperson did not return the network’s emails requesting comment. Martin Weinberg, Mr. Epstein’s attorney, declined multiple inquiries into the flights.
Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Two persons were killed in a bomb blast as a repatriated family was inspecting their house in western Mosul, Nineveh, a security source said.
Speaking to Shafaq News on Wednesday, the source said, “a man and his son were killed as their house, which was booby-trapped by Islamic State, exploded in al-Islah al-Zera’i region, in western Mosul.”
“The house exploded as the family was checking their house for the first time since end of war against IS in the city,” the source added.
Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi troops ran into a mass grave containing relics of 170 civilian victims, south of Mosul, a security source said on Tuesday.
Federal Police troops managed to find on Tuesday a mass grave near al-Bou seif village, located south of Mosul, Col. Anbar Mohamed al-Jabri told Anadolu agency.
Joint troops ran into the grave and found relics of 170 civilians who were collectively killed, most probably by Islamic State while being in control on the city.
Most of the victims were men, who were shot in the head, back and the chest, preliminary results showed. They were likely killed more than a year ago.

[NYPOST] A man splashed an unknown liquid in a girl’s face and called her a "white b‐ch" as she was getting off a school bus in Queens, officials said.
The 13-year-old had just stepped off the bus near the corner of Lefferts Boulevard and 101st Avenue in Richmond Hill when the man accosted her around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
"This is for you, white b‐ch," he shouted before throwing the substance in her face.
The attacker then fled north toward 97th Avenue, but not before the victim managed to snap a photo of him with her cellphone.
The child was taken to Jamaica Hospital for eye irritation. Police said she was not seriously injured and they are still working to figure out what the substance was.
The suspect is approximately 30 years old, bald and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a red shirt underneath, police said.

Earlier on the day, the military media said hundreds of thousands of messages were airdropped on the two towns informing civilians that security troops are coming to free them and urging them to stay away from the enemy.

The group has taken advantage of a more than two-year-old civil war between the Iran-aligned Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... group and President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's Saudi-backed government to strengthen its position in the impoverished country.
AQAP operates in several provinces in southern and eastern Yemen, including in Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues... , Shabwa and al-Bayda.

Fighting over other peoples money. Such a soul full and enriching "religious" tenant, SATAN.
[BBC] Fats Domino, one of the most influential rock and roll performers of the 1950s and 60s, has died aged 89.
The American rock and roll artist was best known for his songs Ain't That A Shame and Blueberry Hill. ... and for playing in a beer joint in a Clint Eastwood monkey movie...
The New Orleans singer sold more than 65 million records, outselling every 1950s rock and roll act except Elvis Presley.
His million-selling debut single, The Fat Man, is credited by some as the first ever rock and roll record.
An official from New Orleans coroner's office confirmed the death, which was earlier announced by Domino's daughter to a local television station.
