2 men charged in Georgia officer's fatal shooting
[NY Post] Officer Antwan Toney was black. The two perps are as well. BLM doesn't count when the cops are black
SNELLVILLE, Ga. ‐ Two teen-aged suspects have been charged, including one man who remains on the loose, in connection with the fatal shooting of a George police officer who was killed while responding to a suspicious vehicle parked near a middle school, authorities said Sunday.

Gwinnett County Police said in a statement that Isaiah Pretlow, 19, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday and charged with aggravated assault. A second suspect, Tafahree Maynard, 18, has been charged with aggravated assault and felony murder but remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Both men are suspected in the afternoon shooting near Snellville of Officer Antwan Toney, the Gwinnett County Police Department said in a news release.

Toney died at a hospital from his injuries, police said. The 30-year-old from Southern California had been with the Gwinnett County Police Department for nearly three years. It was his first police job.

"The people that worked with Officer Toney on a daily basis recalled a very jovial person who was dedicated to his job and dedicated to his community," Gwinnett County Police Chief Butch Ayers said.

This is why Western Civilization* totally rocks. Not only did it invent pretty much everything in our modern world, but it's a big tent - anyone can join no matter what your race, color, creed or planet of origin. And we don't give a flip about that 'cultural appropriation' nonsense either. Want to fly a plane, ride a bike or build a Mars rocket? Have at it! The more the merrier, so line up and sign up today.

* You can call it The White Man, you can call it The Patriarchy. I prefer Western Civ - it's more accurate and less whiny.

Follow-up with fotos: 20 men jailed for sexual abuse of teenage girls in northern England
[DAWN] Twenty men have been jailed for raping and abusing more than a dozen girls in a northern England town, in what a judge called a "vile and wicked" campaign of exploitation.

The men in the town of Huddersfield were found guilty in three trials this year, but the verdicts could not be reported until a judge lifted reporting restrictions on Friday.

The cases are the latest in a series of prosecutions in northern English towns and cities for child sexual exploitation involving British Asian men of mostly Pakistani heritage.

The men were accused of being part of a gang that groomed vulnerable girls described in court as from "isolated" backgrounds and were convicted of more than 120 offences against 15 victims aged between 11 and 17.

#5  But I’m glad the Dawn reporter also gives us the following:

In August, a UK appeals court had upheld a government decision to strip three men of citizenship who were convicted of grooming girls for sex. They now face deportation to Pakistan.

Anti-Muslim activist Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, who uses the pseudonym Tommy Robinson, was jailed for contempt of court in May after broadcasting live on Facebook outside the trial of some of the Huddersfield gang, breaching reporting restrictions.

Police statistics in Britain show that most offenders in child exploitation cases are white men, and most of the abuse takes place online, at home or in institutions such as schools.

But former prosecutor Nazir Afzal, who has brought many abusers to trial, says Pakistani men are disproportionately involved in the sort of street grooming seen in recent high-profile cases.

DOJ's New Strategy on Transnational Crime
[OpsLens] Organized crime. Second only to "terrorism," its likely the most feared domestic security threat in the United States. It’s certainly the oldest and long-lasting danger to law and order America has had to deal with. Of course, the criminal organizations that represent the prime danger to America today are not comprised of local thugs and drug dealers. It’s the transnational crime syndicates that are the real problem‐and who are often orchestrating those low- level thugs and dealers.

Local and federal governments have for decades sought innovative ideas on how to deal with this problem. Some solutions have been less successful than others.

RIP Ted Bol, Inventor of 'Little Free Libraries'
[Weekly Standard] In 2009, Tod Bol put a small wooden box in front of his Hudson, Wisconsin, home and unwittingly started a movement. Bol, who died Thursday at age 62, filled the box‐shaped like a one-room schoolhouse in honor of his late teacher mother, who had loved reading‐with books. He encouraged his neighbors to borrow a book or leave a book. And so the Little Free Library movement was born.

Over the ensuing decade, word of Little Free Libraries spread on the Internet. They quickly spread across the globe; they’re reportedly to be found in more than 80 countries now. 75,000 are registered on the Little Free Library website. Bol operated a Little Free Library non-profit, which tracks them and provides support. "It’s weird to be an international phenomenon," he told the Associated Press in 2012.

You encounter Little Free Libraries in the predictable precincts, of course: The heavily educated quarters of upper northwest Washington, D.C., are chock full of them. But they’re not at all exclusively the province of the Bobos: I’ve run across them in suburban San Antonio and working class parts of Rhode Island, too.
The Little Free Library website can be explored here.

Trump's gonna need a bigger venue for Ted Cruz rally because crowd size just EXPLODED!!
[Right Scoop] We told you the other day that Trump had to pick a bigger Houston venue for his Ted Cruz rally because they was getting a lot more signups than anticipated for their 8,000 seat venue. So they bumped it up to the Toyota Center which holds 19,000. And as we also pointed out, that’s well above average of what Trump normally seats for these campaign rallies.

Well it turns out the signups for the Trump/Cruz rally has exploded since we reported that and now there’s no way he can seat everyone in the Toyota Center:
FOX NEWS ‐ At least 77,000 people have signed up for President Trump’s Houston rally on Monday to support incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, who is locked in the Texas Senate battle with Democratic Congressman Beto O’Rourke.

The Houston Chronicle reported that Houston police will be "fully mobilized" for the rally. Attendees must have tickets to enter and will be admitted in the order that they line up, the report said.

"Keep in mind that once the capacity is met, you won’t get in whether you have a ticket or not," an officer said.

More than 77,800 people had signed up for the rally by Friday morning, according to The Chronicle. A person familiar with the event told the paper that the Trump campaign was not considering a move to a larger venue.

It’s been over 24 hours since they last checked, so who knows what the number would be now.

But it makes sense why they aren’t trying to move the venue again, as it’s just too close to the day of the rally which is Monday.

But wow, 77k sounds just fantastic. If this is representative of what’s going to happen on election day in Texas, Beta might lose by a landslide.

Washington state voters could be the first to approve a carbon tax
[Washington Examiner] Washington state could be the first in the nation to enact a voter-approved carbon tax if a ballot initiative succeeds there in November, an outcome that supporters say would prove the political tenability of a major policy to combat climate change.

"Even being in a competitive position is a significant achievement," Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, a Democrat and rumored 2020 presidential candidate, told the Washington Examiner in an interview. "If it doesn’t happen this year, we are not done."

However, if voters in this progressive western state reject a carbon tax for the second time, after voting down a similar plan two years ago, it may slow what modest momentum there is for pricing pollution at the national level.

"I do think about the consequences of it failing," said Noah Kaufman, a Columbia University economist who studies energy and climate change policy. "If a blue state fails again to pass a carbon tax, it certainly doesn't look good for efforts in states elsewhere, and at the federal level."

The logic behind a carbon tax is simple, economists say: Raise the price of carbon intensive products ‐ based on the damage they cause society ‐ so consumers use less of them, and encourage producers to find other solutions to limit emissions.

If the Left Had Their Way What Would It Be Like
[Canada Free Press] With all that is going on today in our social and political culture, especially the audacious unmasking of what liberals and the Democrat Party are now demanding, it would not be difficult to imagine an America ruled by the Left, the modern liberal, the modern Democrat Party. I say modern liberal because it is a far cry from the classic liberal of the forgotten past.

The classic liberal would advocate Constitutional Republicanism, a limited government with basic inalienable rights entrusted upon its people, shared equally by all its citizens, of all races, bestowed by God. It was envisioned by our founders that all were created equal in the law and then allowed to be let loose to become all you can be with limited government and few limits. It was what many of us fought to reestablish in the 60s and 70s.

LIBERALISM AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY HAVE MORPHED
Liberalism and the Democrat Party have morphed. They have contorted into a shape that is no longer recognizable. More likely they were stolen by nefarious groups who waited for their opportunity to affect a docile and pliable generation more concerned with getting high.

Liberals have achieved much power over the decades. They have almost completely taken over the media, the entertainment industry and the education system. The internet has proven difficult for liberals. They fear the totally free exchange of ideas...people thinking for themselves. Facebook, Google and others are trying desperately to control what we all read. Nevertheless, Hillary Clinton’s candidacy represented a culmination of many years of indoctrination, misinformation, and brainwashing. They were close, real close. How else could they have responded to a Trump presidency?

Caribbean-Latin America
100 ISIS Terrorists Caught in Guatemala as Central American Caravan Heads to U.S.
[Canada Free Press] In a startling revelation, Guatemala’s president announced in the country’s largest newspaper that nearly 100 ISIS terrorists have been apprehended in the impoverished Central American nation. Why should Americans care about this?

A caravan of Central American migrants is making its way north. Let’s not forget that Guatemala is one of the countries that bombarded the U.S. with illegal immigrant minors under Barack Obama’s open border free-for-all. They came in droves from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala through the Mexican border and for years Uncle Sam rolled out the welcome mat offering housing, food, medical treatment and a free education

Guatemala has long been known as a major smuggling corridor.

A terrorist could have easily slipped in considering the minors, coined Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), were not properly vetted and some turned out to be violent gangbangers who went on to commit heinous crimes in their adopted land of opportunity. In fact, the nation’s most violent street gang, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), was energized by the barrage of UACs.

The Texas Department of Public Safety even issued a report documenting how the MS-13 emerged as a top tier gang in the state thanks to the influx of illegal alien gang members that came with the UACs. At the time more than 60,000 UACs‐many with criminal histories‐had stormed into the U.S. in a matter of months. Tens of thousands more eventually made it north.

Guatemala has long been known as a major smuggling corridor for foreigners from African and Asian countries making their way into the U.S. Last year Guatemala’s largest paper, Prensa Libra, published an in-depth piece on the inner workings of an international human smuggling network that moves migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh to the U.S. Individuals are sent to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates then flown to Brazil before heading to Colombia.

Once in South America, the migrants are transported to Panama before moving on to Costa Rica then a central point on Guatemala. One Spanish news report refers to Guatemala as a human smuggling paradise because it’s so easy to get fake passports. A few years ago, the head of Guatemala’s passport division got arrested for selling fake passports to a group of Colombians, according to a government announcement.

Government
Soetoro Admin Weaponized FDIC Through 'Operation Choke Point'
[Free Beacon] New court filings document the extent to which the Obama administration used government power to target disfavored industries, and subsequently sought to avoid responsibility for its targeting program.

The new information comes from a motion for summary judgement filed in federal court by the plaintiffs in Advance America et al. v. Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. et al.

Advance America, a payday lender, was one of the firms targeted by Operation Choke Point. The company contends‐and the documents it filed show‐that the FDIC was consciously working to target a totally legal industry, and also at a number of points to deny its involvement in the same work.

Choke Point was an initiative under which the Obama administration tried to shut down disfavored industries by removing their access to payment processing and other banking services, thereby cutting off their financial "oxygen." They did so by applying pressure to third-party banks through the FDIC and other federal financial regulators. Targeted businesses were almost all entirely legal, and included ammunition sales, online gambling, and payday loans.

The FDIC has repeatedly denied that it specifically targeted payday lenders. FDIC chairman Martin Gruenberg told Congress in written testimony that targeting payday lenders was "not consistent with our policy," and claimed that the corporation had taken "a number of significant steps" to discourage targeting firms that were otherwise operating within the law.

However, the new court filings tell a completely different story.

They go back to late 2010 and early 2011 when, according to a deposition from Chicago Regional FDIC Director Anthony Lowe, the FDIC's leadership in D.C. informed regional chiefs that "if a bank was found to be involved in payday lending, someone was going to be fired." This directive made clear to Lowe and his colleagues that they should exercise their power to make sure that payday lenders could not get access to banks.

This effort was clearly in line with the priority of the highest levels of authority at the FDIC. Gruenberg told colleague and Director of the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection Mark Pearce that "we should discuss" a New York Times article about payday lending and banking in an email. Another email shows that Gruenberg also met personally with a senior bank official to push the bank to withdraw from its involvement with payday lending.

The targeting of payday lenders flowed out of Washington and to the various regional directors. Atlanta Regional Director Thomas Dujenski, who was deposed for the lawsuit, wrote in an email released by Advance America that he "literally can not stand pay day lending. They are abusive, fundamentally wrong, hurt people, and do not deserve to be in any way associated with banking." He would later tell employees that "any banks even remotely involved in payday [lending] should be promptly brought to my attention."

Dujenski's specific focus on choking off payday lenders was clearly of interest to top brass. In one email, he reported to FDIC director Mark Pearce that "I think you will be pleased" because a bank had stopped permitting payday loan providers to use its payment processing service.

Nancy Pelosi: There Will Be ‘Collateral Damage' to Those Who Disagree with Us
[Breitbart] House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told a gathering at the 92nd Street Y in New York on Sunday that there may have to be "collateral damage" to those Americans who do not agree with the Democratic Party agenda.

Pelosi was being interviewed onstage by Paul Krugman, the left-wing New York Times columnist and Nobel economic laureate who predicted, the day Donald Trump won the presidency, that Trump would trigger "a global recession, with no end in sight."

In a long, rambling monologue, during which she stumbled on her words and appeared to lose her train of thought, Pelosi said:

Failed polygamist and minister, accused of illegally circumcising 2 teens
[Springfield News-Leader] A Nixa man who started an organization called "Restore Bible Culture" was indicted for illegally circumcising two teenagers in May, court documents say.

A grand jury indicted Curtis W. Abbott in August on two counts of child endangerment and one count of unauthorized practice of medicine or surgery ‐ all of which are felonies.

Abbott, 47, is not a doctor.

He sent a statement to the News-Leader calling the allegations false.

Because the case was handled by a grand jury, many details of the case ‐ like an alleged motive ‐ are not public.

However, court documents from a recent divorce shed light on Abbott and his strong religious convictions.

Abbott represented himself in the divorce, which his now ex-wife initiated in 2017.

Court documents filed by Abbott say his wife decided to end their marriage after his "decision to officially go back into the ministry after having multiple prophetic communications."

Abbott claimed his ministry had "several false starts in years past."

When his ex-wife accused him of being mentally abusive, controlling, a polygamist and dismissive of women, Abbott denied most of those charges ‐ and also clarified his views on polygamy.

He responded, writing that he believed "polygamy is not in anyway (sic) condemned or looked down upon in the Bible and that many social ills pertaining to the stability of family would be balanced out if it were still in favor today."

Saudis Used Mole At Twitter To Track Dissidents For Troll Farm: Report
[Huffpoo] Mole was part of a "troll farm’ operation to attack critics under orders of Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, reports the New York Times.

The Saudi government apparently groomed a mole inside Twitter to keep tabs on dissidents as part of a wide-ranging operation that also unleashed vicious social media attacks on them, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The mole was part of a sophisticated online effort "dictated" by controversial Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman and carried out by his advisers to quash domestic and international criticism of Saudi Arabia, according to the Times.

One of the dissidents viciously attacked as part of the ongoing operation was the late Washington Post journalist and U.S. resident Jamal Khashoggi. Each morning he awoke to a vile onslaught of Twitter attacks, said the Times.

"The mornings were the worst for him because he would wake up to the equivalent of sustained gunfire online," Khashoggi’s longtime friend Maggie Mitchell Salem told the Times.

The Saudi government finally admitted Friday that Khashoggi was killed inside the country’s consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2 ‐ during a physical altercation, according to state-owned media. Turkish officials, who reportedly have an audio tape of Khashoggi’s death, say he was murdered in the consulate by a Saudi hit squad and dismembered under orders of the government. The Saudi version of events has been largely met with derision.

This retirement expense has hit $100,000 annually ‐ and it's continuing to rise
[CNBC] This retirement living expense has nowhere to go but up.

The annual cost of a private room in a nursing home has cracked the six-figure mark, according to Genworth Financial.

The national annual median cost of a private room in a nursing home is $100,375, the insurer found in its 2018 Cost of Care study.

Overall, the rising cost of care has outpaced inflation. The Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers was 2.1 percent for the first half of 2018. The annual median cost of a room at an assisted living facility grew by 6.67 percent between 2017 and 2018. Meanwhile, the cost of a shared room in a nursing home jumped by 4.11 percent.

#7  If you need this sort of care in your later years, plan to move to a third world country, or buy a robot. There is no way for a normal person to make enough money to pay these bills given the current inflation rate on medical care.

In a related story, my mother-in-law actually had insurance for long term care, and yet chose to die rather than use it, because she wanted her independence.

It is sad that she wasted her money on insurance she did not want to use. But that was her choice so, ok.

The moral of the story, is to spend some time thinking about this problem. Absolutely no one will care about your choices when you are dead.

Instead your relatives will be paying lawyers and funeral homes to get your things sorted out.

Teen drives seven hours round trip to deliver pizza to a dying man
[CBS News] A teen in Michigan made a pizza delivery he'll never forget, and his gesture is warming hearts across the nation. Eighteen-year-old Dalton Shaffer was working his shift at Steve's Pizza in Battle Creek, Michigan, Tuesday night when he got a call about an old customer.

The man on the phone said his son-in-law, Rick Morgan, who had moved to Indianapolis, was a big fan of Steve's Pizza and was battling cancer. They had planned a trip back to Michigan and a visit to Steve's, but Morgan's health took a turn for the worse and he was now in hospice care. The man wondered if the shop might be willing to send Morgan a text or a card.

"He was kind of telling me just a little bit about how they used to live in Battle Creek and they were just really big fans of Steve's Pizza," Shaffer told CBS affiliate WWMT.

After hearing that a fan of Steve's Pizza was unable to fulfill his dream of eating a slice again, Shaffer wanted to do more than send a card. He asked the father-in-law what kind of pizza Morgan wanted. Then, after he closed up shop for the night, Shaffer jumped in his car with two pizzas.

He drove three and a half hours from Michigan to the home in Indiana.

Hillary Clinton Releases DNA Test Results Proving She's Only Half Lizard Person
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.‐Shortly after Elizabeth Warren released a DNA test that may or may not show that she is 1/1024th Native American, failed presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton showed the results of a recent DNA test that conclusively proved she is only 50% Reptilian.

The test, conducted by a renowned DNA expert, showed that only 50% of her blood comes from reptilian humanoids from space bent on destroying humanity. Many Washington insiders had claimed she was 100% reptile, but these claims are now known to be a hoax.

"I'm happy to announce that I'm only half reptile," she said on an interview Sunday evening. "I hope my critics will think twice before calling me a space reptile now, since that's only half true. I'm only part lizard person, thank you very much."

But she was quick to point out that whether or not she's an earth-conquering reptile is irrelevant, quipping, "What difference, at this point, does it make?"

At publishing time, Clinton had admitted the remainder of her DNA was that of a Cylon.

Florida and Texas Post Record Sept.-to-Sept. Job Gains
(CNSNews.com) - Florida and Texas, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, not only led the nation in the number of nonfarm jobs they added in the year running from September 2017 to September 2018 but also added the greatest number of jobs to their states in any September-to-September period on record.

Ohio and Pennsylvania‐sometimes considered part of the nation’s "Rust Belt"‐also saw significant job gains from September 2017 to September 2018, with Ohio showing the largest increase for its state in 21 years and Pennsylvania showing the largest increase in 18 years.

"Thirty-seven states had over-the-year increases in nonfarm payroll employment in September," BLS said in its state employment report. "The largest job gains occurred in Florida (+407,300), Texas (+406,400), and California (+339,600). The largest percentage gain occurred in Florida (+4.8 percent), followed by Utah (+3.6 percent) and Texas (+3.3 percent).

The unemployment rate in Florida was 3.5 percent. In Texas, it was 3.8 percent. In California, it was 4.1 percent.

While California ranked third among all states for the number of job gained during the period from September 2017 to September 2018, its statewide jobs growth numbers during that period were actually smaller than they were in two of the previous three September-to-September periods. (From September 2014 to September 2015, California added 493,000 jobs; from 2015 to 2016, it added 393,800 jobs; and from 2016 to 2017, it added 307,500 jobs)

FBI Acknowledges Using Multiple Human Sources In Investigation of Trump Campaign Aide Carter Page
[Daily Caller] The U.S. government revealed in court filings Friday that the FBI used multiple confidential informants, including some who were paid for their information, as part of its investigation into former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

"The FBI has protected information that would identify the identities of other confidential sources who provided information or intelligence to the FBI" as well as "information provided by those sources," wrote David M. Hardy, the head of the FBI’s Record/Information Dissemination Section (RIDS), in court papers submitted Friday.

Hardy and Department of Justice (DOJ) attorneys submitted the filings in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for the FBI’s four applications for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants against Page. The DOJ released heavily redacted copies of the four FISA warrant applications on June 20, but USA Today reporter Brad Heath has sued for full copies of the documents.

Hardy’s declaration acknowledged that the confidential sources used by the FBI were in addition to Christopher Steele, the former British spy who authored the infamous anti-Trump dossier.

"This includes nonpublic information about and provided by Christopher Steele, as well as information about and provided by other confidential sources, all of whom were provided express assurances of confidentiality," Hardy wrote, referring to information disclosed in the four FISA applications.
I believe the term for Carter Page is 'mole.' Notice how rapidly interest in Page literally evaporated upon his departure from the Trump Campaign ?

China's top Macau liaison official dead after fall from building
BEIJING (Reuters) - China’s top representative to Macau died late on Saturday after falling from the building where he lived, the Chinese government said on Sunday.

Zheng Xiaosong, the head of China’s liaison office to Macau, had been suffering from depression, the Hong Kong and Macau Office of the Chinese government’s State Council said in a statement. The statement did not elaborate further on the circumstances of his death.

Zheng, 59, was appointed to the Macau post in September 2017 and is a member of the ruling Communist Party’s Central Committee, the largest of China’s elite ruling bodies.

Like neighboring Hong Kong, Macau operates under China’s "one country, two systems" policy and is ruled by a chief executive, who is chosen via an election but must get approval from Beijing to formally take office.

The liaison office in Macau serves as a bridge between the local government and Beijing and has become increasingly influential in local affairs.

Activists Demand HHS End Involvement in Late-Term Abortion - 'Humanized Mice' project
[Free Beacon] Pro-life activist David Daleiden said the Department of Health and Human Services was promoting late-term abortion by agreeing to a multimillion-dollar contract for mice injected with cells obtained from aborted babies.

On Wednesday evening CNS News revealed the agency had agreed to a $13 million contract with the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) to obtain 90 so-called humanized mice each month. Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress and undercover videographer, said fulfilling the contract would require at least two late-term babies to be aborted each month. The taxpayer-funded enterprise made the agency "complicit" in abortion.

"UCSF is the biggest abortion and late-term abortion training school in the country," Daleiden told an audience at the House of Representatives Rayburn building. "It's absolutely unconscionable that our taxpayer dollars are being used to traffic in aborted baby body parts."

Daleiden called on the agency to terminate the contract, as it did a $15,900 contract with Advanced Bioscience Resources in September following public outcry. He said it was incumbent on the "pro-life Trump administration" to live up to its values.

Judge Jeanine: ‘The Military Needs to Be Deployed to Our Southern Border Immediately'
[Breitbart] Saturday on Fox News Channel’s "Justice," host Jeanine Pirro opened her show with an "Opening Statement" aimed at the so-called caravan originating in Central America attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border.

Pirro laid out her criteria for allowing anyone within the caravan into the country, which included public safety, what the crosser would have to offer the country and their willingness to pledge their allegiances to the U.S. flag and not the flag of where they had originated.

"The military needs to be deployed our southern border immediately to stop the caravan of thousands of illegals pouring into our nation," she said. "Right now is a very dangerous time for Americans. Border control is essential to your safety and the safety of your family. The military, the National Guard, ICE, Border Patrol and DHS needs to block this caravan from entering our nation. Now, I’m not saying they are all criminals. What I am asking is, who are they? What I am saying is I want to vet them, screen them. I want to find out hop among them is a criminal, who among them is a gang member like the notorious MS-13 gang members who arrogantly rode into our country during the Obama years and they are in New York and elsewhere brutally and savagely murdering innocent American citizens."

"I want to know who is a pedophile, who is a sex offender, who thinks they are entitled to beat their wives?" Pirro continued. "I want to know who has an alcohol problem, who has a drug problem, who likes to drive drunk and who has no problem hauling drugs for the cartel? And if you can prove you are not a criminal, I want to know what you have to offer us. What do you bring to this great nation? What are you going contribute? Why should we be proud to count as an America, other than adding to the Democrats voting bloc and continuing the mob mentality that you already exhibited you are proficient at. Now, if you are not a criminal I want you to get to the back of the line behind everyone else who waited for a visa, came here legally, hired a lawyer, learned American history and sworn allegiance to this great nation. And only then am I interested in even talking to you about entering. I, for one, am sick and tired of the sense of entitlement that illegals have to enter this country then immediately claim their constitutional rights as they carry the flags, not of America, but the flags of their country. And God forbid if we try to deport them to the flag of the country they so proudly wave.

"They break our laws to come here," she added. "They are not entitled to be here. The break our laws to come here. This is not a left or right issue ‐ this is a security issue. A safety issue. We simply cannot have people about whom we know nothing living next door to us, working next to us or driving next to us."

Cameroon:over 50 Anglophone detainees appear before Yaounde military court
[JOURNALDUCAMEROUN] Over 50 Anglophones were present at the Yaounde military court on Friday October 19 for hearing but most of the cases were adjourned because lawyers failed to show up after exertions at the Constitutional Council. Just one lawyer (Me-eh Walise Kum) turrned up for the defense Counsel as well as one (Mangoua Duclair) for the Gov’t bench.

Other cases were equally postponed because most of the Anglophone detainees did not have lawyers-close to twenty of them.

It was the 49th appearance for Ngalim Felix who is the longest -serving anglophone detainee since the crisis started. He was enjugged

#1  Politics
Bamenda is the founding place and seat of the largest opposition political party in Cameroon, the Social Democratic Front (SDF), and the home of its leader, John Fru Ndi. There is a large military presence throughout the city. On 26 May 1990, a group of Bamenda elites launched the party in Ntarikon Bamenda, despite a heavy police presence. However, the launching did not end without casualty. Six civilians were killed.[citation needed]

Bamenda is also the birthplace of The Southern Cameroons National Council (SCNC), a group that has been asking for the restoration of the former British Southern Cameroons, a territory that covers the English-speaking provinces of North West and South West. The SCNC was born in Bamenda in 1994, after the All Anglophone Conference (AAC2) issued the Bamenda Declaration in which it had asked the government of President Paul Biya to respond to all anglophone grievances stated in the Buea Declaration of 1993, or face the wrath of the people of the Southern Cameroons. The Cameroon government failed to respond to the Bamenda Declaration and since then, the SCNC has categorically maintained that it now considers the restoration of the independence of the Southern Cameroons to be final and irrevocable.

Residents in occupied Golan Heights burn Israeli election ballots, wave Syrian flag
Don’t have representation, if you don’t want it. See if anyone else cares.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The protests were preceded by a demonstration against the Israeli occupation, organized by the area’s Druze community, who waved Syrian flags and held portraits of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

while standing on the border with Syria.

The Syrian population of the Golan Heights has gathered in the town of Majdal Shams to protest against Israeli policies in the occupied territories, Syria’s SANA news agency reported.

The protesters waved Syrian flags and burnt election ballots that had been distributed by local Israeli authorities.

Political activist and former prisoner Bashar al-Maqt, quoted by PressTV, slammed the elections that were organized by Tel Aviv as legally void and called on international organizations to pressure Israel to abandon its policies in the Golan Heights.

Bashar al-Maqt further vowed to spread the protests to other Syrian communities in the Golan Heights.

The protests in Majdal Shams took place two weeks after a demonstration by the Golan’s Druze community, who waved Syrian flags and set up portraits of Syrian President Bashir al-Assad along the border with the Arab Republic.

The Golan Heights was seized by Israel from Syria during the Six-Day War in 1967.

For a long time the territory was governed by an Israeli military administration, but in 1981 Tel Aviv extended the jurisdiction of its laws to the territory and established a civil administration.

The move was condemned by the UN Security Council as illegal from the point of international law.

Israel justified its move as aimed at safeguarding its borders from aggressive military acts.

It sounds like they’re Syrian Druze demonstrating loyalty to President Assad the Younger rather than Israeli Druze protesting against their own rulers, BrujoTejano. Nowadays the Druze work very hard to be known as good subjects of whatever government they find themselves under.

James Madison's Solution to Tribalism
A taste:
[AmericanThinker] Political tribalism has been a very popular topic in 2018. A great divide has been created in our society as a result of identity politics. Many have retreated into groups with only like-minded individuals creating mini echo-chambers all over the country. These groups push their agenda without any regard of the effects on the rest of society. Do these disparate groups undermine American society? Is it inevitable these groups will continue to grow apart until the country becomes ungovernable? Will Americans be able to find any middle ground on which they agree? While some argue drastic change in the structure of government is needed to address this problem, the correct course would be a return to the original design of the Republic. James Madison provided much insight into the problems that arise from such "factions" in the Federalist Papers.

Darth Bolton to Meet with Vladimir Putin in Moscow Next Week
[Breitbart] President Donald Trump’s National Security adviser John Bolton will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin when he visits Moscow next week, Kremlin officials announced on Friday.

In an interview with Russia’s Channel One broadcaster, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Bolton would meet Putin as well as other leading officials.

"We are indeed waiting for Bolton to visit Moscow, the meetings are being prepared now. Security Council Secretary [Nikolai] Patrushev is his direct partner," he said. "The Russian Security Council is also preparing for this dialogue. Other meetings are also planned."

"It is not the first time that Bolton will meet Putin’s aide on external politics [Yury] Ushakov," he continued. "I cannot rule out contacts in the Foreign Ministry, but we are also preparing a possible meeting with President Putin and we hope that this meeting will take place."

Many expect the meeting to involve discussions over another bilateral meeting between Putin and President Donald Trump, although Peskov said that such plans are still just an idea. He also warned that Russia’s efforts to engage in dialogue with the United States have previously run into a "blank wall."

Tanzania: Abducted tycoon Mohammed Dewji returns home
[Al Jazeera] Tanzanian tycoon Mohammed Dewji, who was kidnapped a week ago in Tanzania's economic capital Dar es Salam, has returned home unharmed.

Dubbed as Africa's youngest billionaire, the 43-year-old heads the MeTL Group which operates in about 10 countries with interests from agriculture to insurance, transport, logistics and the food industry.

"I thank Allah that I have returned home safe and sound," Dewji told a presser on Saturday in Dar es Salaam where he was kidnapped on October 11 as he entered a gym at a hotel.

He also thanked the "Tanzanian authorities, including the police, who worked for my return".

"I thank all my fellow Tanzanians and everyone around the world for their prayers," he added.

Dewji earlier tweeted that he had been released and his father, Gullam Dewji, confirmed his son's release in comments to the Tanzanian daily Mwanachi.

Simon Sirro, national police chief, said the businessman had provided some information about the kidnapping,

"Mohammed Dewji told us that the kidnappers wanted money but were very afraid, even though they were armed. He asked them several times how much they wanted but they gave no figure," Sirro said.

"We now know their network, we know which country the plans were made," he added, without giving details.

Foreign captors?
Dewji had indicated that his abductors spoke a Southern Africa language, confirming suspicions that the kidnappers were foreigners, said Lazaro Mambosasa, Dar es Salam police chief.

The family had offered a reward of one billion Tanzanian shillings ($440,000) for information that would help police find him.

Dewji is Tanzania's richest man and is reportedly worth $1.5bn. He served as a member of parliament from 2005 to 2015.

In 2013, he became the first Tanzanian to be featured on the cover of Forbes magazine. Two years later he was named Forbes Africa Person of the Year.

Russia Says Kills 88,000 Syria Rebels
[AnNahar] Russia's defence minister said Saturday that almost 88,000 rebels had been killed in Syria in the three years since Moscow's intervention to back government forces.

"Most of the rebels have been liquidated," Shoigu said.

Minor domestic worker allegedly tortured by army officer, husband at Rawalpindi residence
[DAWN] A maiden of tender years hired as a domestic worker in Rawalpindi was allegedly tortured by her employers for over a year, it emerged on Saturday.

The case, a grim reminder of the infamous Taiba torture case of 2016, came to light through a series of videos shared on Twitter in which the child can be seen narrating her ordeal.

The child named Kinza, an 11-year-old per her own estimate, says that she is employed as a domestic worker at the residence of Ammara Riaz, a major in the Pakistain Army, and her husband Mohsin Riaz, who is a doctor by profession. The house is located in Wilayat Colony, Scheme III, Chaklala.

The girl, who managed to escape the house, accuses her employers of starving her and torturing her with wires, belts and ropes for over a year. She further says she is kicked and stomped on while she sleeps.

When asked by the videographer to describe how she has been mistreated, she explains that she is not fed properly by the family she lives with, and when she steals food out of hunger, she is administered inhumane beatings.

In the video, Kinza shows injuries that she has sustained, including her bloodshot, black eyes as well as multiple wound marks on her arms, neck and head.

Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari took notice of the case and said the ministry is "keeping a close eye [on the matter] to ensure justice for the little girl".

In a startling revelation, Guatemala’s president announced in the country’s largest newspaper that nearly 100 ISIS terrorists have been apprehended in the impoverished Central American nation. Why should Americans care about this? A caravan of Central American migrants is making its way north.

Let’s not forget that Guatemala is one of the countries that bombarded the U.S. with illegal immigrant minors under Barack Obama’s open border free-for-all. They came in droves from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala through the Mexican border and for years Uncle Sam rolled out the welcome mat offering housing, food, medical treatment and a free education."

[JOURNALDUCAMEROUN] President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
confirmed Saturday that the United States plans to leave a Cold War-era nuclear weapons treaty with Russia, which criticized the move as Washington’s latest effort to be the sole global superpower.

Trump claims Russia has long violated the three-decade-old Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, known as the INF, was signed in 1987 by president Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev.

But a foreign ministry source told the RIA Novosti state news agency that Washington’s "main motive is a dream of a unipolar world," one that won’t be realized.

"We’re the ones who have stayed in the agreement and we’ve honored the agreement, but Russia has not unfortunately honored the agreement, so we’re going to terminate the agreement and we’re going to pull out," Trump told news hounds in Elko, Nevada.

Israeli aircraft fires toward incendiary balloon-launching cell in Gaza
[IsraelTimess] Paleostinian media report cycle of violence destroyed in strike, which comes as incendiary devices launched from Strip spark 3 blazes in south.

A military aircraft fired toward a group of Paleostinians on Saturday flying incendiary balloons from the Gazoo Strip into Israel, the Israeli army said. There were no reports of injuries. Paleostine media outlets said the strike destroyed a cycle of violence in southern Gazoo.

The Arclight airstrike came as flaming balloons launched from the coastal enclave started two fires in southern Israel. Firefighters were working to extinguish the blazes, which broke out at the Be’eri and Shokeda forests. Another fire was later sparked in the Kissufim Forest by a burning balloon flown from Gazoo, the Ynet news site reported.

A front man for the Fire and Rescue Services said balloons launched from Gazoo started a total of four fires Saturday in the south.

However,

Israeli officials believe Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, has changed its policies regarding the festivities and is working towards curbing violence at the rallies which have become a near-daily occurrence, Hadashot TV news reported Friday.

Jerusalem believes the terror group is moderating the demonstrations in order to allow Egyptian mediators a chance to strike a deal between Hamas and Israel for a long-term truce in Gazoo, the report said.

Meanwhile Haaretz reported that Israeli defense officials wish to respond to the more limited rallies in Gazoo on Friday by renewing fuel supplies to the Strip. The officials have said in closed deliberations that Hamas’s efforts to limit the violence should be taken advantage of to create positive momentum towards a calm.

Last Friday, Israel halted the transfer of fuel to Gazoo in response to heavy rioting and attacks at the border fence. According to the newspaper, security officials hope to renew supplies to Gazoo as early as Sunday, to send a positive message to Hamas.

Arabia
Saudi Crown Prince's Ousted Aides
[An Nahar] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
on Saturday sacked two top aides to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as of 2016....
after conceding that critic Jamal Khashoggi was killed inside its Istanbul consulate.

Deputy intelligence chief Ahmad al-Assiri and royal court media advisor Saud al-Qahtani were both part of Prince Mohammed's inner circle. Their ouster came alongside the arrests of 18 Saudi suspects and the dismissal of other intelligence officials.

Here are the profiles of the top aides:

AHMAD AL-ASSIRI

Assiri, said to be in his 60s, was a high-ranking advisor close to the royal court and often sat in during Prince Mohammed's closed-door meetings with visiting foreign dignitaries.

Prior to his promotion as the deputy head of general intelligence in 2017, Assiri served as the front man for the Saudi-led military alliance in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
which has been battling Houthis since March 2015.

Fluent in French, English and Arabic, the hard-charging official had developed a reputation for hassling journalists whose reports were not to his liking.

The Saudi daily al-Hayat once described the major general, who trained at the renowned French military school Saint-Cyr, as the "best known Saudi pilot in the world".

Last year Britannia apologised after an anti-war activist attempted to make a citizen's arrest of Assiri, over Saudi Arabia's role in the Yemen conflict, and threw an egg at him during a London visit.

Before his sacking on Saturday, the New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported earlier this week that Saudi Arabia would assign blame for Khashoggi's disappearance on Assiri to help deflect blame from the powerful crown prince.

SAUD AL-QAHTANI

A key counsellor to Prince Mohammed, Qahtani was a media advisor in the royal court.

He organised interviews with the prince for foreign journalists and also served as the head of the "Centre for Studies and Media Affairs", a unit operating inside the royal court.

Saudi sources say Qahtani, said to be 40-years-old, steered online propaganda campaigns against the kingdom's adversaries such as Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
and Iran on social media.

With 1.3 million Twitter followers, the firebrand
...firebrands are noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments...
official was known for aggressively targeting dissenters and rivals on the platform.

Writing for the Washington Post earlier this year, Khashoggi alleged Qahtani maintained a "blacklist" for writers critical of the kingdom and was known to intimidate them.

In an off-record interview to Newsweek magazine prior to his death -- which was published on Saturday -- Khashoggi described Qahtani and another Saudi top official Turki al-Sheikh as "thuggish".

"People fear them. You challenge them, you might end up in prison, and that has happened," he was quoted as saying.

He called Qahtani the "most important man in media", saying he controlled the government's PR activities.

A known loyalist to Saudi rulers, he tweeted last year: "I don't do anything from my own head without an order. I am an employee and executer to my king and my crown prince."

Fifty-five dead after market row in northern Nigeria
[JOURNALDUCAMEROUN] Fifty-five people were killed this week in festivities between young Christians and Moslems in northern Nigeria following a dispute in a market, President Muhammadu Buhari said on Saturday.

Sources told AFP fighting broke out between Hausa Moslem and Adara Christian youths in the town of Kasuwan Magani’s market following a dispute among wheelbarrow porters.

Two people were said to have been killed in the market fracas on Thursday. The violence was temporarily halted by police but Adara youth later mobilised and attacked Hausa residents, burning homes, the sources added.

"Most of the killings were done in the second attack which took the Hausa community off guard," said Muhammadu Bala, a Kasuwar Magani resident who lost his home.

In a statement the presidency said: "President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the latest communal violence in Kasuwan Magani in Kaduna State which claimed 55 lives."

The violence followed a dispute in a market on Thursday, the presidency added.

The president expressed concern that Nigerians were too frequently resorting to violence over misunderstandings that could be resolved peacefully.

"No culture and religion supports the disregard for the sanctity of life," he said, adding that "peaceful coexistence is necessary for the progress of any society and its wellbeing".

He said that without harmony between communities an environment conducive to "our everyday businesses would be impossible to achieve".

"Violence cannot be an alternative to peace. On the contrary, reliance on violence leads to ultimate self-destruction. Violence is an ill wind that blows nobody any good. Embracing peace is a necessity," he said.

He appealed to community leaders to take part in regular dialogue to prevent misunderstandings and foster a spirit of tolerance and patience.

Kaduna state police commissioner Ahmad Abdur-Rahman told news hounds on Friday 22 people had been jugged
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
in connection with the violence.

[Al Jazeera] A jacket wallah went kaboom! in the Afghan capital on Saturday, killing at least 15 people as voting concluded in parliamentary elections that were overshadowed by the threat of attacks and serious organizational problems.

Voting should have been concluded by the time the attacker struck in an area to the north of Kabul, but polling stations were kept open longer than normal to cope with large numbers of people who had been unable to vote.

Ten civilians and five coppers were killed when the bomber tried to enter a polling station and more than 25 were maimed, a security bigshot said.

The resident was released by kidnappers after getting a ransom of over Rs10 million. When he safely reached home, the law enforcers started working on some leads and finally arrested the three suspects.

During investigations, the held suspects had confessed to their involvement in several cases of kidnapping for ransom.

Officials said they had kidnapped and murdered Abid Sohail in September 2017 and buried his body in Manghopir.

In January 2017, the same group had also kidnapped a member of the Ismailia community from Bloody Karachi

Iranian forces shell Pak border villages
[DAWN] QUETTA: Iranian forces fired mortar shells into Taslap, a border town in Chagai district, and nearby areas on Friday, killing an unspecified number of cows and camels.

"They fired over two dozen mortar shells, causing panic in the villages," a security official told Dawn.

"Camels and cattle grazing in the fields were killed as mortar shells hit them," the official said.

Before the shelling, the Iranians warned people working in the fields on the Pakistain side to leave the area.

"People had no option but to leave their fields and take shelter in their houses," Khuda-e-Nazar, a villager, said.

The shelling stopped only after contingents of the Frontier Corps

IDF troops arrest suspected assistant of Barkan terrorist — report
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian media says Israeli forces operating in runaway Ashraf Na’alowa’s West Bank village surrounded a school under construction, broke down doors.

IDF troops operating in the northern West Bank village of Shuweika Saturday morning incarcerated
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
a man suspected of aiding the escaped terrorist who killed two Israelis at the Barkan Industrial Zone earlier this month, Hadashot TV news reported, citing Paleostinian media.

Earlier Paleostinian media reported forces had surrounded a school under construction in the village, broke down its doors and called on the runaway terrorist Ashraf Na’alowa to surrender.

Media reports also said soldiers fired tear gas canisters at Paleostinians in the area, possibly in response to rioting.

The IDF confirmed it had operated in the village but would not give more details.

The move comes after officials delivered a demolition order to Na’alowa’s family home on Monday. The order was served to his parents, the IDF said in a statement.

Na’alowa has been on the run since killing Kim Levengrond Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi on October 7 at the factory in the Barkan Industrial Zone where he was employed. A third Israeli, Sara Vaturi, was maimed in the attack.

The day after the shooting, the shooter’s relatives publicly appealed to Na’alowa on Israel Radio to turn himself in to Israeli authorities.

A Paleostinian security official has confirmed to The Times of Israel that Paleostinian Authority security forces are assisting in the search for Na’alowa.

Last week, Na’alowa’s sister Fayrouz was arrested at her home in the West Bank city of Nablus in connection with the manhunt for her brother, the Shin Bet said. Fayrouz had previously been questioned by Israeli forces, but was released. Na’alowa’s brother was arrested the day after the attack.

The Shin Bet refused to say on what grounds Fayrouz had been arrested. Na’alowa’s mother and other sisters were also detained and brought in for questioning following the attack, but were later released.

Officials reportedly believe that Na’alowa, who is said to have left a suicide note before the attack, is preparing to engage troops when they close in on him in a firefight that could turn deadly.

The military launched an investigation of the attack to determine, among other things, how the gun was smuggled into the industrial park and whether the terrorist had intended to take Levengrond Yehezkel hostage, having used zip-ties to bind her hands before shooting her.

Levengrond Yehezkel was a secretary while Hajbi worked in accounting at the Alon Group’s factory in the industrial park. Na’alowa was employed there as an electrician.

The army has said Na’alowa had no history of terrorist activities and was not tied to any terror groups, though several of them applauded his actions.

France charges three over supermarket terror attack
[IsraelTimes] Four people were killed in March when Redouane Lakdim went on a shooting spree and took hostages, including a police officer who traded himself for a hostage.

Three people have been charged in La Belle France on Saturday over an Islamic terrorist’s shooting rampage and supermarket hostage-taking earlier this year.

French regional media reported that the three are suspected of providing help to assailant Redouane Lakdim
...the Moroccan-French known wolf who shot up a Carcassonne grocery store in the name of ISIS. It seems the French cleverly granted him citizenship shortly before his eruption despite being on their ‘Fiche S’ terror watch list. He is also in our archive as Radouane Lakdim...
before his March attack in Carcassonne and the nearby town of Trebes. Four people were killed, including a police officer who traded himself for a hostage.

A judicial official said Saturday that the three were charged with criminal association with terrorists, and one was also accused of possessing arms in connection with a terrorist enterprise.
Golly. How many of them are also known wolves?
They were among six people nabbed

in raids this week. The other three were released. It was unclear why the arrests occurred so long after the attack.
Stop criticizing, O Reporter. The French security forces are overwhelmed by the sheer number of radicalized Moslem colonists they have to keep track of, which is why they are forever having to explain why the latest spree killer fell off their radar. If only France’s politicians would allow them to do the job as they are capable of doing it!
In March, three people were killed in a shooting spree and hostage siege in southern La Belle France when Lakdim carried out three separate attacks in the medieval town of Carcassonne and nearby Trebes.

The four-hour drama began when Lakdim hijacked a car near the town of Carcassonne, killing one person inside and wounding another. He then went to a supermarket in Trebes, shooting and killing two people in the market and taking hostages. He shouted "holy shit! Allahu akbar!" ‐ the Arabic phrase for "God is great" ‐ and said he was a "soldier of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. Special police units converged on the scene, and Lieutenant-Colonel Arnaud Beltrame was among a group of officers who rushed inside the supermarket. He offered to take the place of a woman being held as a final hostage by Lakdim.

Unbeknownst to Lakdim, Beltrame left his cellphone on so police outside could hear what was happening in the store. They stormed the building when they heard gunshots, officials said. Beltrame was fatally maimed.

French President Emmanuel Macron had attended Beltrame’s funeral and said the officer had "died a hero" who deserved "the respect and admiration of the whole nation."

ians have staged a protest on the streets of Germany to express their dissatisfaction at the Constitutional Council rulings that dismissed all petitions filed in by opposition candidates with regards to the October 7 Presidential polls.

After dismissing all petitions filed by the opposition, the Constitutional Council is all set to proclaim Paul Biya on Monday, winner of the October 7 polls handing him the chance to extend his thirty-six-year stay in power with another even-year mandate.

This has not sat down well with some Cameroonians in the diaspora who have launched a series of protests against the Council.

The protests in Germany follows that staged by some Cameroonians in the United States of America on Friday to call for the Constitutional Council to cancel the eleection.

Journalducameroun.com reported on Thursday that security has been beefed at major junctions of the capital Yaounde ahead of the proclamation of results on Monday October 22.

It is the same situation in major cities in the country as security officials guard against any post election violence in the country.

Afghanistan
Taliban are nearing victory in Afghanistan
[WeeklyStandard] America has lost the war in Afghanistan. Washington may not want to admit it, and the U.S. military insists the conflict is a "stalemate." But make no mistake: The original 9/11 war has been lost.

On Thursday, the Taliban attacked a meeting between Afghan officials and the top U.S. military commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Austin S. Miller. Americans in attendance were wounded, but Miller was unhurt. At least three Afghan officials, though, were killed, including Gen. Abdul Raziq, a key American ally and powerbroker in southern Afghanistan. The U.S. military's initial statement on the attack was a good example of its cognitive dissonance. Instead of a full condemnation, Col. Dave Butler, the spokesman for U.S. Forces-Afghanistan, claimed it was merely an "Afghan-on-Afghan incident."

(ISIS) in the al-Sweida Governorate in late August.

According to a military report from the al-Sweida Governorate, the Syrian Army secured a deal with the Islamic State that would free six civilians in exchange for the wives of ten ISIS fighters.

Among the six people released from the Islamic State’s captivity were two women and four children.

Another two batches of kidnapped civilians from al-Sweida are expected to be released by the Islamic State in the next few days, a military source said on Saturday.

At least another 16 other civilians from al-Sweida are still being held by ISIS in an undisclosed location in southern Syria.
The Times of Israel adds:
The Islamic State jihadist group has released two women and four children among 27 surviving Druze hostages it seized during a deadly July attack on the minority community’s heartland in southern Syria.

State television broadcast footage of the six arriving in the city of Sweida on Saturday, joyful at being reunited with their families but haggard after their three-month ordeal.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based monitoring group, said their release was the first part of a deal that would see at least 60 IS prisoners released in exchange and a $27 million ransom paid.

"Nine IS women prisoners held by the regime have already been handed over to the group along with seven children," Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said.

Quetta train link cut off from rest of country after bomb attack
[DAWN] Train service remained suspended for several hours between Quetta and the rest of the country on Friday after twin bomb kabooms at the main railway track near the Hirak area of Bolan district.

The Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
-bound Jaffar Express narrowly escaped the kabooms, which were reportedly planned by unknown Lion of Islams, said a railway official.

Security officials said two bombs were planted at the main track between Mach and Hirak stations. The bombs were detonated with brief intervals, destroying the track in the process.

"The train was at some distance from the Hirak station when the bombs went off," Waseef Ali Mughal, divisional superintendent of Pakistain Railways, Quetta division, said, adding that the train operator hit the emergency brakes, stopping the train immediately. Despite the fierce attack, there were no casualties and the train itself remained safe. However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
a large portion of the track was destroyed.

Soon after the blast, personnel of the Frontier Corps

They are tasked to help local law enforcement in the maintenance of law and order, and to carry out border patrol and a..the Antwerp-based Salafist organization that had campaigned to introduce Sharia law to Belgium before single-handedly making Belgium the highest per capita supplier of jihadis to Syria in Europe. and Levies rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. After the second kaboom, the bomb disposal squad was able to get pieces of evidence from the rubble. "A hand-grenade was recovered from the site as well," a security bigshot said.

"All railway traffic, to and from Quetta, was stopped following the attack and operators were asked to halt their trains at various train stations they were close to," said an official.

Hamas Rejects Egyptian Demand To Stop Gaza Border Protests
[Jpost] Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, has rejected an Egyptian request to halt the weekly demonstrations along the border between the Gazoo Strip and Israel, Paleostinian sources said on Saturday.

The sources said that Egyptian intelligence officials who met with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
in Gazoo City last Thursday also demanded that the protesters stay at least 500 meters away from the border. However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
Hamas also rejected this demand, the sources told the London-based al-Hayat newspaper.

On Friday, Paleostinians again demonstrated near the border, some of whom tried to cross the security fence. Sources in the Gazoo Strip said approximately 130 Paleostinians were maimed by gunfire and tear-gas inhalation.

Several Paleostinians who were at the demonstration commented that the number of demonstrators was smaller than in previous weeks. They also pointed out that the protesters dispersed earlier than usual, raising speculation about a possible secret deal between Hamas and Egypt.

"The Egyptians made it clear to Hamas that Israel was this time more serious than ever and would use unprecedented force if the violence continues along the border," said a Paleostinian political analyst in the Gazoo Strip. "Apparently, Hamas issued instructions to its supporters to keep a low profile."

Shortly before the protests began, the organizers of the "Great March of Return" (the name Paleostinians use to call the protests that began March 30) urged Paleostinians to "maintain the peaceful and popular" nature of the demonstrations.

Taher a-Nunu, a senior Hamas official in the Gazoo Strip, said the weekly demonstrations will continue, but only in a "peaceful and popular" manner. He denied that the Egypt had asked Hamas to stop the protests.

Family of six-year-old victim of alleged sexual assault awaits justice in Jamshoro
[DAWN] The family of a six-year-old victim of alleged sexual assault are awaiting findings from a chemical examiner's report in a case which took place in Jamshoro on September 30, it was learnt on Saturday.

The case surfaced on social media earlier this week, following the hanging of six-year-old Zainab Amin's rapist and murderer, Imran Ali. In a tweet, a user demanded similar "attention, outrage and coverage" so the child could get justice.

Police had lodged a first information report (FIR) under Sections 511 and 376 of the Pakistain Penal Code (PPC) against a young boy, who is alleged to have attempted to rape the minor girl. He was sent to jail after having been placed in durance vile
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
in the FIR lodged on a complaint of the girl’s father, Imtiaz Hingoro.

"They are my neighbours and I had deep trust in them... yet this family has done this to us," said Hingoro, who is an employee of a public sector university. "I was away from home when I was called by my wife to get back immediately. Upon reaching home I was told that this incident had happened," he said.

Hingoro initially took the child to a female doctor who advised them to report the matter to police in view of the nature of the case. The suspect, whose father is a low-ranking policeman in Hyderabad, is currently in prison on judicial remand.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jamshoro Suahee Aziz Talpur had conducted the initial investigations of the case and met the girl and her family. She has now been transferred to the central police office.

"When I was in Jamshoro we had sent samples taken from the girl and the boy for chemical examination," she told Dawn, adding that a DNA test can also be done from the samples if deemed necessary.

Civil Secretariat guard denies woman entry without dupatta
[DAWN] The government representatives on Friday took the flak after a guard at the Minister’s Block of the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Civil Secretariat stopped a woman from entering the premises without a dupatta on her head.

The issue surfaced when a woman uploaded a video on social media showing that a guard had prevented her from entering without a dupatta. It shows the guard telling the visitor that the orders had been orally given by Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Chaudhry Zaheeruddin from the Public Prosecution Department.

Both of them vehemently denied issuing any such order and the Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaaf, through its official account, also condemned the allegation.

Dr Yasmin Rashid tweeted: "This is quite absurd indeed! Neither has such an instruction been given nor is it possible to discriminate against anyone on this pretext. Have taken notice of this. The guard has been investigated and a show cause notice is being issued to him."

Her party page also supported her tweet: "The Minister @Dr_YasminRashid has not issued any discriminatory orders like this. One should not hurl any blame/allegation without concrete evidence. You may report the incident to concerned authorities."

Speaking to Dawn, Personal Secretary to Chaudhry Zaheeruddin denied the involvement of the minister, and said whoever had done this was involved in character liquidation.

"Thousands of people including women of all ages and attire enter inside everyday, and no one is told this," he said. "Someone is playing a prank of some kind for tarnishing our image," he said, adding "there are no such rules and no such orders."

Tens of Thousands Rally for Taiwan Independence Vote
[An Nahar] Tens of thousands of Taiwan independence campaigners erupted into the streets Saturday for a major rally that is a rebuke to Beijing and a challenge to the island's already embattled government.

The protest in central Taipei came as China increasingly pushes its claim to the self-ruling democratic island and President Tsai Ing-wen struggles to appease Beijing and independence factions.

It was the first large-scale protest calling for an outright independence vote since Taiwan first became a democracy more than 20 years ago.

Organisers claimed a turnout of more than 100,000.

Demonstrators gathered outside the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) headquarters chanting slogans and waving flags reading "Independence Referendum".

"Want Referendum!" and "Oppose Annexation!" the crowd shouted.

China still sees Taiwan as part of its territory to be reunified, despite the two sides being ruled separately since the end of a civil war on the mainland in 1949.

Taiwan considers itself a sovereign state, with its own currency, political and judicial systems, but has never declared formal independence from the mainland.

Beijing has warned it would respond with force if Taiwan tried an official split.

Organised by new group Formosa Alliance, which is backed by two pro-independence former Taiwan presidents, Lee Teng-hui and Chen Shui-bian, the rally called for a public vote on whether the island should formally declare independence from China.

"We want to tell China to stop bullying Taiwan," Alliance leader Kuo Pei-horng, 63, told the crowd.

"Taiwanese people want to be their own master," he added.

Families brought their young children to the event, but the majority of protesters were older residents, with some pro-independence church groups also joining the rally.

"Only through holding a referendum can Taiwanese people show to the international community our right to build an independent new country," said Tsai Wen-li, 63, a retired postal worker who wore a T-shirt reading "Taiwan is my country".

Engineer Rex Yang, 35, described Taiwan as an "orphan in the international community".

"Taiwanese people want Taiwan to become a normal country...that is why I stand out here today", he told AFP.

IHC suspends Axact man’s sentence
[DAWN] The Islamabad High Court suspended the 20-year jail term for an employee of the Axact group in the fake degrees case on Friday and ordered his release. The court told Rizwan Shah, a senior manager of M/S Axact, to furnish surety bonds of Rs 500,000.

In July, the Sessions Court of Islamabad had convicted Axact owner Shoaib Sheikh, Rizwan Shah and 21 others in the fake degree scam case and awarded 20 years imprisonment under different charges.

Mr Shah challenged the conviction before Justice Athar Minallah. His counsel Raja Rizwan Abbasi and advocate Sohail Warriach argued before the court that the conviction was not sustainable since there was insufficient evidence to link the convicted persons with the crime.

Shoaib Sheikh, the owner, has also challenged his conviction before the court.
