#5  Iran had to so they didn't lose face after their main guy there was turned into a baloney mist cloud.

But they did it... in the most inefficient way, after notifying Israel and countries their stuff would fly over... so everyone knew when they were coming and where they were coming from...

So face saved and Iran being sent back to default settings prevented.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Never argue and fuss with an old man holding a six shooter
[MAIL] An Ohio man has been charged with murder after shooting dead a female Uber driver who had been tricked by scammers into going to his home to collect a package.

The fatal incident, captured on the driver's dashcam, took place in the town of South Charleston, Ohio, on March 25 at around 11:25am.

William Brock, 81, told police he had been receiving fraudulent phone calls from scammers demanding money and had been threatened by them in the weeks leading up to the altercation.

On the day of the shooting, one called him telling him a relative was in jail. They demanded money from him, then placed an order via Uber for someone to collect a package from his house.

The driver was Lo-Letha Hall, 61. She was unaware the man was being targeted, and thought the job was legitimate. When she showed up, Brock shockingly whipped out a gun and demanded she identify who had sent her.

Government Corruption
The Deep State and the Biden regime are at war against the American people
[American Thinker] Who would or could have predicted that our own representatives in Congress would vote to allow the government to spy on American citizens without warrants?

Of course, all the Democrats voted to extend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

The Democrat party has fully morphed into a Marxist cabal, ready and willing to impose tyranny on American citizens.

But how do we explain the Republicans who capitulated to the left and voted 'yes' for the two-year extension? Even House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Reps. Matt Gaetz and Anna Paulina Luna flipped.

They will say it was the lesser of the evils, two years instead of five, but that is no excuse. The bill to extend should not have passed and Rep. Andy Biggs’s amendment to require warrants if it did should have passed, but did not.

It seems that small-government, conservative, Americans have very few actual representatives in Congress.

Speaker Johnson has not kept any of the promises he made to obtain his office. He was all in on what was essentially Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s latest big spending bill.

The promise to defeat warrantless surveillance of Americans was likewise broken.

Apparently, Attorney General Merrick Garland made numerous phone calls to wavering reps. One can only wonder if this is how those calls went: "This is how you will vote and if you don’t, this is what will happen. ...." It is beginning to dawn on the American people that it is the deep state that runs the country and they run it with leverage and blackmail. Are Gaetz’s feet made of clay like all the others who have betrayed their constituents?

We know that the Obama administration and his worker bees in the DOJ, FBI and CIA abused FISA throughout the Obama and Trump administrations.

AT suggests capitulation.
I suggest push it past the election after which it may be fully revisited. Before that, for the next two years we may really need inspection powers.

#2  "Indeed, Abu Zaydeh is well aware that for the past two years the Hamas leadership had been talking about implementing "the last promise" (alwaed al'akhir) – a divine promise regarding the end of days, when all human beings will accept Islam. Sinwar and his circle ascribed an extreme and literal meaning to the notion of "the promise," a belief that pervaded all their messages: in speeches, sermons, lectures in schools and universities. The cardinal theme was the implementation of the last promise, which included the forced conversion of all heretics to Islam, or their killing."

#7  For some reason that didn’t stay as the day’s headline. Clearly Fred will be a while longer debugging this new iteration of Rantburg’s program but once he’s done it’ll be smooth and lovely.

I thought that was the key paragraph, too, Old Salty. And the previous bits go partway to answer Besoeker’s question from yesterday when he posted that video: Why did not Israel know in advance?

I asked Abu Zaydeh whether he had ever thought that Hamas was capable of perpetrating horrors like those of October 7. "If you had asked me," he replied, "I would have answered like any Israeli intelligence officer: It's inconceivable that this is what they're planning. I would not have believed that they would not take into account what would happen to them on the day after."

He adds, "There were many statements by Hamas before October 7, and we in Fatah would laugh. For example, someone from Hamas wrote on Facebook: 'Remember, in another few months the al-Qassam men will get to Ashkelon, enter the jail and free all the prisoners.' That was the atmosphere. It was hard for us to grasp that they believed that with 3,000, 5,000 or even 10,000 armed militants they would conquer Israel. That's insane. But when you believe that God is sending you to do his bidding, there's no one to argue with. The signs were out there the whole time."

Economy
Recessions are a monetary phenomenon
[American Thinker] "Balance and control government activity, which always tends to want more power. Force our government to live within the bounds of our Constitution. For the Constitution explicitly limits the power and scope of only the government. It does so to protect the inalienable rights and freedom of the individual citizen."

Monetary Policy implementation is bipolar. The Federal Reserve tightens through interest rate increases and concurrently stimulates with excess money supply (liquidity). These two activities are diametrically opposed. Yet they happen by the hand of one federal agency, the Federal Reserve’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).

The net effect: Inflation, due to excess money supply, is decimating the buying power of the dollar. Simultaneously, interest rates are bludgeoning business expansion through higher costs of debt. Financial institution margins compress due to the squeeze in spread between long and short rates.

Long interest rates (market-driven) have not gone up nearly as much as the Fed raised short rates (Fed Fund Rate). The yield curve remains inverted, further suggesting a recession.

All recessions are a monetary phenomenon, according to Milton Friedman and through economic observation. Why the Fed decided to put us into a recession is curious. Recessions hurt the private economy and citizen. Recessions don’t hurt bureaucrats or government workers. If the bureaucrat can’t get paid through raising taxes, they print money.

The excessive supply of money was created by placing our nation into massive debt (sale of Treasury Bonds). That debt will be paid back by every working citizen through taxes, further depressing the individual’s ability to stand on his own. That debt was incurred because our government decided to create massive spending programs for entitlements, welfare, student loan forgiveness, COVID relief, and green energy subsidies like E.V.s.

If one believes that the government is the solution for every problem (collectivists, socialists, communists, fascists, democracy, the left), then why not crush the antithesis of the government — namely, private enterprise and free citizens working in the private economy by causing a recession brought on by federal monetary policy. This is not a bias along party lines. Many Republicans exhibit these tendencies, as do most Democrats.

#1  interest rates are bludgeoning business expansion through higher costs of debt

Strange how banks are paying 'savers' 0.04% interest. Couldn't be because the banks no longer see it as a source to fund their business since the Treasury and Fed give them all they ask for.

Anti-Trump groups are quietly planning for a deepfake election crisis
[BLAZE] Dozens of prominent U.S. and state government officials, advocacy groups, and executives from big tech companies gathered in New York last month to participate in an important simulated election exercise.

The war game exercise imagined a fictional crisis in which AI-generated photos and videos are released on social media immediately before the 2024 election. The images appear to show election officials in Florida dumping ballots, in an apparent attempt to manipulate the election’s outcome.

The simulation also included phone calls to elderly voters in Arizona that featured AI-generated voices. The calls asked elderly voters to stay away from polling centers due to threats from radical militia groups.

More than a dozen former Defense Department officials, generals, and admirals filed a brief with the Supreme Court arguing against former President Donald Trump’s presidential immunity arguments.

It comes as the U.S. Supreme Court is set to hear arguments on the former president’s assertions that he should enjoy immunity from prosecution for activity that he carried out while he was president. The former president invoked that argument after he was accused by federal prosecutors of attempting to illegally overturn the 2020 election results.

The amicus brief’s signatories include former CIA Director Michael Hayden, retired Admiral Thad Allen, retired Gen. George Casey, retired Gen. Charles Krulak, and more.

Holding at 19, but should reach the standard 51 community professionals number by mid-week. Mike Hayden has the lead. Brennan is busy with Obama and ValJar on the Iranian crisis.

Economy
Carl Menger's Overlooked Vital Evolutionary Insights
[Mises Institute] Carl Menger is widely recognized as one of the economists leading the so-called marginalist revolution along with William Stanley Jevons and Léon Walras. There are two other contributions by Menger that are relatively underappreciated and are vital for making sense of the socioeconomic order, including why mankind remains so lost in economic ignorance and tribalistic warmongering.

They are, first, his insights into the proper method or way to study the economy or social order and its emergence-evolution, and second, his application of such wisdom to explain the evolution of money and the entire socioeconomic order that further emerges thanks to money. Let’s further expand on these two.

Menger wrote an entire book devoted to discussing the proper method with which to study the social sciences, aptly titled Investigations into the Methods of the Social Sciences. So how should we study the social sciences according to Menger? He writes,

Natural organisms almost without exception exhibit, when closely observed, a really admirable functionality of all parts with respect to the whole, a functionality which is not, however, the result of human calculation, but of a natural process. Similarly we can observe in numerous social institutions a strikingly apparent functionality with respect to the whole. But with closer consideration they still do not prove to be the result of an intention aimed at this purpose, Le., the result of an agreement of members of society or of positive legislation. They, too, present themselves to us rather as "natural" products (in a certain sense), as unintended results of historical development. One needs, e.g., only to think of the phenomenon of money, an institution which to so great a measure serves the welfare of society, and yet in most nations, by far, is by no means the result of an agreement directed at its establishment as a social institution, or of positive legislation, but is the unintended product of historical development. One needs only to think of law, of language, of the origin of markets, the origin of communities and of states, etc. Now if social phenomena and natural organisms exhibit analogies with respect to their nature, their origin, and their function, it is at once clear that this fact cannot remain without influence on the method of research in the field of the social sciences in general and economics in particular. . . . Now if state, society, economy, etc., are conceived of as organisms, or as structures analogous to them, the notion of following directions of research in the realm of social phenomena similar to those followed in the realm of organic nature readily suggests itself. The above analogy leads to the idea of theoretical social sciences analogous to those which are the result of theoretical research in the realm of the physico-organic world, to the conception of an anatomy and physiology of "social organisms" of state, society, economy, etc.

Like Herbert Spencer, his contemporary and arguably the most famous and influential intellectual of the late 1800s, Menger too felt like the social order was akin to a "social organism" and should be studied using an organic or evolutionary approach similar to how we study the biological order. Menger thus felt like the methods of the physical sciences, like their use of mathematics, was as inappropriate for understanding the monumental complexity and evolution of the social order as it was for the biological one. He writes, "I do not belong to the believers in the mathematical method as a way to deal with our science. . . . Mathematics is not a method for . . . economic research."

Emphasis added.

Over 1,300 layoffs hit logistics companies across US
[Freight Waves] Texas, Florida, Illinois, Michigan and Georgia firms say market conditions, loss of customers forced job cuts.

Layoffs continue across the freight and logistics industry, with companies in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan and Texas announcing job reductions and facility closures over the past two weeks.

Universal Logistics

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Here's How We Know the U.S. Military Is VERY Worried About WWIII After Iran's Attack on Israel
[PJ] After the missile and drone attack launched by Iran against Israel on Saturday, one can assume the Pentagon is concerned about an expansion of this hot war. The question of how much Joe Biden and his puppet master, Barack Obama, care remains unanswered, however (where is that Rashid Khalidi tape anyway, LA Times?).

Biden's persistent undermining of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the president's political left flank calling for Bibi's ouster during a war have been politically punctilious, outrageous, and deflating. They telegraph the administration's antipathy toward the Israeli leader and desire for him to fail in his country's quest for survival.

After all this, you can understand why many question Biden's alleged "ironclad" support of the Jewish state.

Whether Biden takes this missile attack against Israel seriously is one question, but there's little question the Pentagon is on full alert about the possibility of World War III breaking out.

How do we know this? Not because of any national address by the President of the United State of America. Though he came back to the White House for his situation room photo op, he's been silent on the matter.

A Brave Marine Lt. Colonel Stepped Forward and Revealed that 15 US Agencies Knew COVID-19 Was Created in Lab in 2018 – But They Kept It Secret from American Public (VIDEO)
[Gateway] Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who happens to be a US Senator and a Doctor of Ophthalmology, released a stunning report on Tuesday where he discovered that 15 different federal agencies knew that the Wuhan laboratory in China was trying to create a COVID-19 virus and they knew this since 2018.

Not one single official or employee in these 15 agencies revealed the truth to the American public during the pandemic. They should all be fired.

Rand Paul announced on Sunday that a brave Lt. Colonel in the Marines stepped forward with the information on the COVID origins. He was the only honest person in 15 agencies brave enough to expose the truth.

On Sunday, Senator Paul joined Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures to discuss this explosive revelation and more.

Iranian Leader Khamenei Posts Tweet in Hebrew Threatening Israel After Missile Attack – Israeli President Responds
[Gateway] Late Saturday Iran fired off missiles and 50-100 drones in an unprecedented attack from Iranian soil on the state of Israel.

Israel later announced that 99% of Iran’s missiles were taken down and did not reach their target. US ships assisted in shooting down the incoming missiles that crossed over Iraqi and Jordanian airspace before they were shot down by Israel.

This was the first time the Iranian regime fired on Israel directly — typically Iran uses its affiliates of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi rebels in Yemen to do their dirty work.

On Sunday, Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei posted a threatening tweet on X in Hebrew.

After Iran’s unprecedented attack on Israel on Saturday-early Sunday morning, Khamenei threatened Israel, "Al-Quds will be in the hands of the Muslims, and the Muslim world will celebrate the liberation of Palestine."

Obviously, Khamenei taunting the Israelis after his unprecedented strike against Israel just hours earlier.

10 years after armed standoff with federal agents, Bundy cattle are still grazing disputed rangeland
[AP via Post Register] BUNKERVILLE, Nev. (AP) — The words "Revolution is Tradition" stenciled in fresh blue and red paint mark a cement wall in a dry river wash beneath a remote southern Nevada freeway overpass, where armed protesters and federal agents stared each other down through rifle sights 10 years ago.

It was just before noon on a hot and sunny Saturday when backers of cattle rancher Cliven Bundy, including hundreds of men, women and children, made the U.S. Bureau of Land Management quit enforcing court orders to remove Bundy cattle from vast arid rangeland surrounding his modest family ranch and melon farm.

Witnesses later said they feared the sound of a car backfiring would have unleashed a bloodbath. But no shots were fired, the government backed down and some 380 Bundy cattle that had been impounded were set free.

"Since then, we've relatively lived in peace," Ryan Bundy, eldest among 14 Bundy siblings, said in a telephone interview. "The BLM doesn't contact us, talk to us or bother us."

"The BLM does not have any comment on this subject," agency spokesman John Asselin said in response to email inquiries about the standoff, Bundy cattle grazing today in Gold Butte National Monument and the more than $1 million in unpaid grazing fees and penalties the BLM said Bundy owed in 2014.

At the ranch, Cliven Bundy greeted guests this week while cradling one of 74 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren that he has with his wife, Carol Bundy.

"We're all a little bit older," he said, "but we're still doing the same thing: ranching."

Later, watching two of his sons and a friend rope yearling bulls in a pen, the plainspoken and photogenic rancher — who rallied followers through a bullhorn that day saying, "Let's go get those cattle" — recalled being arrested, jailed for nearly two years and brought to a trial that was dismissed due to prosecutorial misconduct.

People urged to 'shower as a couple' as Colombia faces water crisis
[GEO.TV] Colombian capital Bogotá, located at around 2,600 meters (8,500 feet) high in the Andes, is confronting a water crisis that has never occurred in generations, The Guardian reported.

The roasting of El Niño has ignited record-shattering droughts, bringing in the current reservoir that stands on 16%-the driest ever registered.

In the face of this shortage of water, Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán has issued rationing rules, which include bifurcating the city sections and water supply cuts for 24 hours. "But, let"s not waste the water," Galán emphasised that people should decrease the water usage.

“Shower as a couple,” said Galán. “This is an educational exercise in saving water, nothing else. That kind of thing is going to help us a lot. Those behavioural changes are key.”

Some experts say that Bogotá"s water supply could last only 54 days, according to Bogotá"s water supply service to city residents.

Revealing a dilemma between the significance of hygiene for Colombians versus the extent to which these practices will be followed, Mariana García Achury who is a resident of Bogotá also has her doubts regarding this agenda.

Bogotá, like some other metropolitan areas in South America, is facing the consequences of the outbreak of drought. In terms of rationing water, Mexico City was forced to start this plan last month, whereas Guatemala announced a wildfire emergency recently.

The future remains uncertain. Will the measures still be in force long? Is the population prepared for the worst drought scenario possible in Bogotá? Will they be able to plan accordingly to avoid the disaster?

PTI-led opposition alliance 'conspiring' against country: Baby Bhutto
[GEO.TV] Firing a fresh salvo at the PTI-led “grand opposition alliance”, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that they are hatching a conspiracy against the country under the garb of poll rigging claims.

Bilawal made the remarks while addressing a public gathering at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh in Larkana on Sunday in connection with 45th death anniversary of former prime minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

“Many forces did not believe in democracy. They used to hatch conspiracies but President Asif Ali Zardari foiled their designs.”

Taking a veiled jab at the six-party opposition alliance, the former foreign minister said that some politician wanted to launch PNA-II even today.

The Pakistan National Alliance (PNA), a nine-party alliance, was launched in 1977 against the Bhutto-led government.

Without naming Imran Khan, Bilawal said that some politicians play with the fate of the country and people for the sake of “personal ego”.
Is any ego other than personal?
“Now they are hatching conspiracy against the country and its economy by beating the drums of [electoral] rigging,” he added.

His remarks came a day after the PTI-led opposition alliance — including Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP), Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) — launched its protest movement with a power show in Balochistan’s Pishin district.

The six-party alliance launched the movement against the alleged massive rigging in the February 8 general elections.

Stressing the need for “national reconciliation” to steer the country out of the crisis, the PPP leader said that the country would not progress if they do the “politics of abuses”.

He urged the politicians to stay in their ambit prescribed in the Constitution.

If the democracy is derailed, masses would be the first who suffer loss, warned the PPP leader. “Politicians utmost priority should be steering the country out of crisis.”

Puntland arrests pirates behind MV Abdullah hijacking incident
[Garowe] At least 8 pirates have been apprehended on the East Coast of Puntland, a Federal state in northeastern Somalia, just moments after a Bangladeshi ship that was hijacked, was released from the hands of the notorious group operating in the country"s waters.

Somalia had struggled with piracy in the last three months with the pirates working closely with Al-Shabaab militants according to multiple sources in the country. There have been deliberate efforts to arrest and prosecute the pirates.

A high-ranking officer from Puntland Police Force informed Garowe Online that they have apprehended 8 members of the pirate group holding the Bangladesh-flagged ship MV Abdullah. It has not been confirmed whether the ransom money paid to the pirates was recovered during the operation.

"The practice of paying ransoms could potentially encourage more pirate attacks,” a Puntland police officer, who wished to remain anonymous, told Garowe Online. The coastline of Puntland has been the target of the pirates for a while.

This development comes amid a decrease in pirate attacks along the Somali coast, thanks in part to significant efforts by Indian naval forces capturing numerous pirates. The Indian Navy arrested several pirates early this month and were subjected to trial far away from Somalia.

Earlier, some reports indicated Somali pirates had released the MV Abdullah after receiving a $5 million ransom, local officials confirm. The Bangladeshi ship with a 23-member crew was hijacked in mid-March but it"s not clear if the pirates were arrested after receiving the ransom.

Puntland Marine Police Force has increased surveillance along the coastline with support from Somalia’s international partners who have been working hard to help defuse piracy in the country. The efforts have to a larger extent stabilised the region.

Al-Shabab group has been taking advantage of the instability in Somalia to work closely with the pirates but their effort has not been fully successful. Somalia is battling the vices as it streamlines its economy to attract more investors.

TPLF reaches preliminary agreement with Abiy Ahmed’s party
[Garowe] The Tigray People"s Liberation Front (TPLF) has for the first time reached an agreement with the Property Party which is associated with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, whose two-year dispute with the faction caused a prolonged conflict in Ethiopia.

According to Addis Standard, the Property Party and the TPLF discussed issues giving room for in-depth dialogue involving the two sides as agreed in the Nairobi and Pretoria agreement which effectively ended the conflict in the Horn of Africa nation.

State media reported that the senior representatives of the two sides "have agreed on the principles of party-to-party discussion and have started identifying the agenda for the next discussion."

On April 2nd, the two parties held a decisive meeting in Mekelle, the regional administrative capital of Tigray. This was the first-ever meeting between the two parties in compliance with the Pretoria Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (CoHA) of November 2022 aimed at addressing the political root causes of the two-year brutal war in the Tigray region.

Adem Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party, and other senior party officials including Defense Minister Abraham Belay and Transport and Logistics Minister Alemu Sime attended both the first and second meetings, whereas TPLF is represented by its Chairman Debretsion Gebremichael (PhD) and joined by two Executive Committees of the party in today"s meeting.

The short muted video released by state media about the meeting does not show if Getachew Reda, President of the Tigray Interim Regional Administration (TIRA), who was at the first meeting, is attending the second meeting today, the Addis Standard further adds.

Ethiopia’s long-standing conflict has successfully ended, paving the way for development and prosperity. But in recent weeks, Addis Ababa has been at a crossroads with Somalia after it signed a controversial agreement with Somaliland over control of sections of the Red Sea.

So severe has been the conflict leading to serious confrontations with Somalia closing Ethiopia’s embassy while insisting on "respect to our territorial integrity". The international community has called for dialogue to end the hostility between the two countries.

Heavy Losses Inflicted on Al-Shabaab Militant Group in Central Somalia
[ShabelleMedia] In a significant development in the ongoing conflict in Somalia, more than 20 fighters from the al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
murderous Moslem group were killed in an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
that targeted their location in Ji’ibow village, located in the central Hiran region.

The operation occurred early on Sunday, dealing a considerable blow to the murderous Moslem group.

According to residents, the turbans suffered severe losses as a result of the airstrike. Throughout the morning following the attack, the turbans were seen collecting dead bodies and tending to their injured comrades. Among the casualties were fighters who were identified as non-Somalis by the villagers. This suggests that the murderous Moslem group might have been drawing recruits from other countries as well.

The al-Shabaab turbans had reportedly been regrouping in the area, possibly in preparation for an ambush somewhere in Hiiraan. The airstrike appears to have disrupted their plans and significantly weakened their capabilities in the region.

This incident follows a series of other recent engagements between the Somali government forces, supported by international partners, and the al-Shabaab murderous Moslems. The murderous Moslem group, which is affiliated with al-Qaeda, has been a major source of instability in Somalia, engaging in violent mostly peaceful attacks and seeking to impose its strict interpretation of Islamic law.

Officials say the damage occurred last weekend on the north side of the lake, where petrified red dunes make it one of the most well-trafficked areas of the park.

A video taken by a witness to the event, shows two men working hard to shove large chunks of loose rock of the edge of an outcropping.

The video was sent to the National Park Service.

A little girl, the daughter of one of the men, stands behind them, horrified, and screaming intermittently as the rocks fall.

The US president stated this during a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Biden and his senior advisers are highly concerned an Israeli response to Iran"s attack on Israel would lead to a regional war with catastrophic consequences, US officials said.

Chronicle: Iran's war against Israel, 14 April 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 23:30 Air attack by Iran on the night of April 14 is a “declaration of war” on Israel. This was stated by the country's President Isaac Herzog. He noted that Israel is now “considering all options” for responding to the attack, but is not looking for war. According to him, the Iranian attack was another example of how Tehran is spreading chaos, terror and instability throughout the world.
It should be noted that in Israel the president is really nothing more than an elected constitutional monarch. All the power resides with the prime minister, so President Herzog ought to be voicing Bibi’s decisions here, not his own. But given that the Biden administration, among others, is being pissy about Prime Minister Netanyahu, it makes sense that the president was tapped to speak out.
13:44 In Iran, two capital airports in Tehran, as well as in cities in the west of the country, stopped operating. The pause in their work will last until 6:00 on Monday, April 15, the ISNA agency reported.

12:12 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Western politicians strongly condemned Iran's massive attack against Israel. They are unanimous that Iran's actions are completely unacceptable and pose the risk of an unprecedented further escalation of the situation in the Middle East.

10:54 Iran’s massive strike on Israel was allegedly “successful” and led to the fulfillment of the goals set by the Iranian command. This statement was made by the Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, IRNA reports. According to him, the strike was concentrated on a “major information center”, as well as on the Nevatim air base, where F-35 aircraft are based. “Both of these centers were largely destroyed and became inactive,” says Bagheri.
It sure looks that way if you mistake a real fire in Chile for an imaginary one in Israel. That’s as bad as posting tweets from wargames based in imaginary Chernarus with the claim that they were taken in Ukraine.
10:22 The US military intercepted dozens of missiles and drones attacking Israel from Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen. This statement was made by Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. He called on Iran to immediately stop further attacks, including by its proxy forces, and reduce tensions.

10:00 The Israel Airports Authority announced the opening of Israeli airspace from 7:30 a.m. the week after the Iranian attack. However, the flight schedule at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv may change. Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon also opened their airspace.

09:00 On the night of the week, Iran fired about 300 drones and a missile at Israel. 99% of them were intercepted. This was announced by the official representative of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari.

According to him, Iran launched 170 drones into Israel, and none of them invaded Israeli airspace. Iran also fired 30 cruise missiles, 25 of which were shot down by the Israeli Air Force. In addition, Iran fired 120 ballistic missiles. Some missiles managed to penetrate Israeli defenses and hit the Nevatim airbase in southern Israel. Its infrastructure suffered minor damage, but "capabilities were not blunted."

08:08 US President Joe Biden had a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the White House press service reported. The American leader announced a meeting of G7 leaders "to coordinate a common diplomatic response to Iran's brazen attack."

05:15 The US Congress will consider a bill to support Israel next week. This was announced by Republican Majority Leader in the House of Representatives Steve Scalise. Perhaps this will be the same bill that also provides for $60 billion in military assistance to Ukraine. Scalise said "additional information... will be provided."

03:05 As a result of Iran's night attack on Israel, 99% of Iranian drones were shot down. This was reported by the Ynet portal with reference to anonymous Israeli officials. They also promised a "strong response to Iran" soon.

At the same time, the Times of Israel, citing a representative of the Israeli defense department, reported that more than a hundred Iranian UAVs were intercepted by the US and British military outside Israeli airspace.

Hamas reaffirms demands in response to mediator's ceasefire proposal, adds more
“Nuts!”
[GEO.TV] Hamas has sent its response to the Gaza ceasefire proposal to Egyptian and Qatari mediators, in which it reaffirmed its demands, the Gaza-ruling movement said in a statement on Saturday.

Hamas reiterated its demands, including a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of all Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes, the facilitation of more relief supplies and aid into Gaza, and the start of reconstruction efforts in the coastal enclave.

In response to the ceasefire proposal delivered on April 8, Hamas stressed its readiness to conclude a serious prisoner-hostage exchange agreement with Israel.
It sounds considerably more unreasonable when the Times of Israel lays out the rest of Hamas’s demands. Bet they’re sorry now that they waited for Iran’s big attack to relieve them:
IsraelTimes] Hamas has presented a hostage release proposal to mediators in which it demands Israel observe a six-week ceasefire before it receives any of the 129 hostages held by the terror group since October 7, Hebrew daily Haaretz reports.

The terror group’s proposal was reportedly submitted after it rejected the US-mediated deal late last night.

In the proposal, Hamas suggests that the IDF would be required to cease all fighting in Gaza and retreat from urban areas for six weeks, allowing displaced Palestinians to return north. Only after the end of the six weeks would any hostages be released, Hamas says, claiming that it would use the weeks of paused hostilities to locate the hostages and ascertain what condition they are in.

The terror group’s draft stipulates that 30 Palestinian prisoners would be released for every Israeli civilian — a steep increase from the 3:1 ratio of the weeklong November truce. It also demands that 50 Palestinian prisoners — 30 of them serving life sentences — be released for every captive soldier.

Israel has previously dismissed similar demands as “delusional” and the number of Palestinian prisoners Hamas has demanded, as well as the severity of their crimes, has been a sticking point in several previous rounds of negotiations.

… When asked for more details about those strikes, the officials acknowledged that only about half of them were intercepted successfully.

The rest failed in flight and didn't reach their targets, the officials said.

Joe Biden Approved Iran's Assault on Israel 'Within Certain Limits'
[Jpost] Iran informed Turkey in advance of its planned operation against Israel, conveyed through diplomatic channels, aiming to limit escalation in the Middle East.

Iran informed Turkey in advance of its planned operation against Israel, a Turkish diplomatic source told Reuters on Sunday, adding that Washington had conveyed to Tehran via Ankara that any action it took had to be "within certain limits."

Turkey, which has denounced Israel for its campaign on Gaza, said earlier on Sunday that it did not want a further escalation of tensions in the region.

The Turkish source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had spoken to both his US and Iranian counterparts in the past week to discuss the planned Iranian operation, adding Ankara had been made aware of possible developments.

MIDDLE EAST DE-ESCALATION EFFORTS
Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke to Fidan to make clear that escalation in the Middle East was not in anyone's interest.

"Iran informed us in advance of what would happen. Possible developments also came up during the meeting with Blinken, and they (the US) conveyed to Iran through us that this reaction must be within certain limits," the source said.

"In response, Iran said the reaction would be a response to Israel's attack on its embassy in Damascus and that it would not go beyond this."

Iran, which neighbours Turkey, had vowed retaliation for what it called an alleged Israeli strike on its Damascus consulate on April 1 that killed seven officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Turkey's foreign ministry later confirmed the contacts in a statement, saying Ankara had called for restraint and warned of a regional war if tensions escalated further.

It said Ankara would continue efforts to prevent further conflict and escalation in the region.

A Turkish security source said CIA chief William Burns had spoken to Ibrahim Kalin, head of Turkey's MIT intelligence agency, over the Eid al-Fitr holidays and asked him to act as a "mediator" in the Israel-Iran tensions.

The two discussed ceasefire efforts in Gaza as well, the source said, without elaborating.

Correct, an air base and remote areas were likely specified in the prearranged target deck. No advance "warning" required. "Significant damage" not approved.

Ambassador Tracy: The United States, at Russia’s request, handed over data on the terrorist attack at Crocus
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] After the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow, the United States continued to share information with Russian intelligence services, including upon direct request, said US Ambassador to Russia Lynn Tracy, whose words are quoted on April 14 in the Telegram channel of the diplomatic mission.

She added that Washington will continue to do so in the future.

“Despite our very real and deep differences with the Kremlin, the United States believes that Russian citizens have the right to live in safety and dignity, protected from the threat of terrorism,” the ambassador said.

As Regnum reported, on the evening of March 22, armed terrorists attacked the Crocus City Hall near Moscow. They opened fire on visitors with machine guns and set fire to the auditorium. The terrorist attack killed 145 people, including six children. 551 people were injured.

FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said on March 27 that the testimony of those detained in the Crocus terrorist attack case confirms the Ukrainian trace. He emphasized that the Islamists could not have prepared a terrorist attack on their own; they had help.

The press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service clarified that the United States is shielding those responsible for the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow, and the administration of US President Joe Biden is intensifying work to form a distorted picture of the attack. However, Washington’s propaganda rhetoric regarding Crocus is not selling well: the Americans cannot achieve unified assessments of the tragedy near Moscow even among NATO and EU members, the SVR clarified.

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya emphasized at a meeting of the organization's Security Council that there is no doubt about Ukraine's direct involvement in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: April 14, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 20:57 The number of victims as a result of the fall of rocket debris in the Dnieper and Lyubimovskaya community has increased to 12, said the head of the Dnepropetrovsk OVA Sergei Lysak.

20:50 Over the past week, Russian troops used almost 130 suicide bombers against Ukraine, most of which were shot down, as well as more than 80 missiles and about 700 guided bombs, Zelensky said in an evening video message. The president also emphasized that each Russian missile contains at least dozens of components - electronics, chips - that are supplied from companies from other countries and imported through the territory of Russia's neighbors. Drones also contain components produced in the free world, Zelensky added.

19:06 Russian troops hit Nikopol in the Dnepropetrovsk region with a drone and heavy artillery - four people were wounded, said the head of the OVA Sergei Lysak. In addition, in the Dnieper region, air defense forces destroyed an enemy missile. As a result of falling debris in the Dnieper, five people were injured, including a 15-year-old teenager, and three were injured in the Lyubimovskaya community.

These are deliberate Russian actions that continue the Russian practice of blackmailing our state and the entire international community with the risk of a catastrophe at Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant,” the General Staff noted.

11:51 The Russians dropped explosives from a drone onto a truck on the territory of the Krasnopolsky community of the Sumy district, the driver died, the prosecutor’s office reported.

11:35 The Russians are trying to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops west of Bakhmut in order to reach the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal, capture Chasov Yar, and create conditions for further advance to the Kramatorsk agglomeration, Syrsky said. According to him, separate groups of enemy infantry reached the Novy microdistrict, but were destroyed by FPV kamikaze strikes and artillery fire. “At the same time, the threat remains relevant, given the fact that the top Russian military leadership has set the task for its troops to capture Chasov Yar by May 9,” the commander-in-chief noted.

09:14 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of April 14:

  • personnel - about 453,650 (+890) people,

In the Kupyansky district, one person was wounded as a result of shelling in the village. Hemlines.

08:12 Over the past 24 hours, 76 military clashes took place at the front, the General Staff reported in its morning report . In particular, in the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled 36 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka, Luhansk region, as well as Verkhnekamenskoye, Vyemka, Spornoye, Razdolovka, Ivanovskoye, Novy, Opytnoye, Kleshcheevka, Andreevka in the Donetsk region. In addition, the enemy tried 22 times to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops in the Novopavlovsk direction - in the areas of Georgievka, Novomikhailovka, Urozhainy, Donetsk region.

The enemy did not conduct offensive actions in the Kupyansky and Limansky directions. IRGC chief spells 'new equation' after first-ever Iranian strikes on Israel
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday that any future Israeli attacks on Iranian interests and people will provoke direct retaliation from Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries" embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime"s influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
itself.

"We have established a new equation: henceforth, any assault by [Israel] on our people, property, or interests will trigger a reciprocal response originating from within the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran," state media quoted the IRGC’s chief commander Hossein Salami as saying.

Salami’s remarks followed Iran’s unprecedented assault on Israeli territory late Saturday, a retaliatory move against Israel’s deadly strike on Tehran’s consulate in Damascus on April 1.

For all the latest headlines follow our Google News channel online or via the app.

Salami said that Iran’s retaliation was a targeted operation, focusing solely on the facilities used to carry out the consulate attack.

"This operation could have been very extensive, but we limited the scope of the operation to the facilities that [Israel] used to attack our consulate," he said.

Salami warned that should Israel choose to retaliate, "our subsequent action will be much harsher, drawing upon the insights we have gathered regarding their capabilities."

The Israeli military said that Iran launched over 300 drones and missiles toward Israeli territory, causing 12 injuries.

Iran said its attack was "completely successful," but Israel said that the majority of the drones and missiles were intercepted before reaching Israeli territory with assistance from allies, including the US.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, Switzerland acts as a mediator in negotiations between Georgia and Russia after Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2008, and the Georgian parliament voted to sever diplomatic relations with Russia. The first round of Geneva discussions took place on October 15, 2008. At the fourth round of Geneva discussions, on February 18, 2008, it was possible to agree on the text of a proposal to create a joint mechanism for the prevention and timely response to incidents in the border areas of Georgia and South Ossetia, as well as Georgia and Abkhazia. In April 2022, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the suspension of the Geneva discussions, but then they resumed.

Georgia considers Abkhazia and South Ossetia to be Russian-occupied territories after Russia intervened in the armed conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia on August 8, 2008 and later recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The Georgian parliament voted to sever diplomatic relations with Russia, according to the Caucasian Knot report on  the 2008 Five-Day War, which also contains details of this armed conflict.

Maria Zakharova explained the desire to move the location of the discussions by saying that Switzerland is “losing trust as a mediator in resolving international issues.”

“The Russian side was forced to put into practice the issue of transferring the International Geneva discussions on security and stability in the Transcaucasus to another country, whose authorities actually refrain from any actions detrimental to the interests of any of the participants in this negotiating format,” said Maria Zakharova, quoted by RIA Novosti.

The Foreign Ministry representative also stated that several states are vying for the role of a new platform for regular meetings, some of them have already given consent. The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added that Abkhazia and South Ossetia “completely share Moscow’s point of view on this matter.”

It should be noted that the latest 60th round of international Geneva discussions took place on April 5 with the participation of representatives of the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Republic of South Ossetia, the Russian Federation and the United States, co-chaired by the UN, OSCE and the European Union.

“The general intention to continue joint work under the auspices of the Ministry of Railways has been confirmed. They remain the only internationally agreed format for the post-conflict restoration of relations in the Sukhum-Tbilisi-Tskhinvali triangle,” says a statement published on the same day in the official telegram channel of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Abkhazia and South Ossetia support the transfer of discussions to another country, said Deputy Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Irakli Tuzhba. “Abkhazia and South Ossetia also have their own claims against Switzerland. They are also related to the tightening of visa policy,” says a message published in the telegram channel of the Media Center of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry.

The decision to postpone discussions has not yet been made; this requires the consent of all participants in the negotiations. Abkhazia, Russia and South Ossetia are considering Belarus and Serbia as options, the report also says.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry has not yet responded to statements by representatives of the foreign ministries of Russia and Abkhazia.

The Geneva format of negotiations has lost its relevance, since the meetings held are of a formal nature. Its only significance is that all parties to the conflict take part in the discussions, noted Georgian analysts interviewed by the Caucasian Knot in July 2023.

Let us recall that in February 2023, the Abkhazian authorities refused to accept the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions. They planned to take part in the 57th meeting of the international Geneva discussions on stability and security in the South Caucasus. According to analysts, the refusal of the Abkhaz authorities was initiated by Russia.

Iran summons British, French and German ambassadors over 'double standards'
[GEO.TV] Iran"s foreign ministry summoned on Sunday the ambassadors of Britain, France, and Germany to question what it referred to as their "irresponsible stance" regarding Tehran"s retaliatory strikes on Israel, the semi-official Iranian Labour News Agency reported.

The three European countries have condemned Iran"s drone and missile attack against Israel, which went through Saturday night into Sunday and were in retaliation for Israel"s bombing of its consulate in Syria on April 1.

The director for Western Europe at Iran"s foreign ministry accused the three countries of "double standards" as they opposed earlier this month a Russian-drafted UN Security Council statement that would have condemned Israel"s attack on Iran"s embassy compound in Syria.

Russian embassy is seeking information about a Russian on a ship seized by Iran
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Russian Embassy in Iran is in constant contact with local authorities and is clarifying the details of the presence of a Russian on board the hijacked MSC Aries vessel to provide consular assistance. This is stated in the Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic mission in Tehran.

“The Embassy is in constant contact with local authorities to clarify all the details of the presence of Russian citizen T. S. Kolchanov on board the Aries sea vessel in order to provide the necessary consular assistance,” the message says.

The diplomatic mission noted that they are in contact with the sailor’s relatives.

As Regnum reported, on April 13, the naval forces of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized the commercial ship MSC Aries in the Strait of Hormuz. A day earlier, it had been in the Persian Gulf near Dubai and, in line with the practice of Israeli-linked ships passing through the region, had turned off tracking data.

A spokesman for the vessel's operator, MSC, said there was a crew of 25 people on board. After the seizure, the route of the container ship was changed, the ship is moving towards Iran.

Telegram channel “Vladivostok No. 1” wrote that sailors from the Primorsky Territory are on board the container ship MSC Aries, captured by Iranian special forces in the Strait of Hormuz.

It was noted that the ship, associated with the Israeli company Zodiac Group of billionaire Eyal Ofer, was sailing from the UAE to India under the Portuguese flag. Special forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) parachuted from a Mi-17 helicopter and captured a container ship.

Iran threatens to attack Jordan if it ‘cooperates’ with Israel
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Jordan will be Iran’s "next target" if it "cooperates" with Israel amid Iranian missile and drone attacks against Israel, the semi-official Fars news agency reported early Sunday, while two regional security sources said Jordanian jets downed dozens of Iranian drones flying across northern and central Jordan heading to Israel.

Iran’s military is "carefully monitoring the movements of Jordan during the punitive attack against the Zionist regime, and if Jordan intervenes, it will be the next target," Fars reported, citing, an "informed source" in Iran’s armed forces.

"Necessary warnings were given to Jordan and other regional countries before the operation," the agency, which is close to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), quoted the source as saying.

According to the two regional sources, the drones were brought down in the air on the Jordanian side of the Jordan Valley and were heading in the direction of Jerusalem. Others were intercepted close to the Iraqi-Syrian border. They gave no further details.
"We can say no more!"

Two regional security sources said late Saturday that Jordan’s air defenses were ready to intercept and shoot down any Iranian drones or aircraft that violate its airspace.

They said the army was also in a state of high alert and radar systems were monitoring any drone activity coming from the direction of Iraq and Syria.

Residents in several cities in the northern part of the country near Syria and central and southern areas heard heavy aerial activity. A security source said the country’s air force was intensifying reconnaissance flights.

Jordan had earlier said it closed its airspace starting on Saturday night to all incoming, departing and transiting aircraft in what officials told Rooters were precautionary measures in the event of an Iranian strike across its border.

"The relevant authorities took the decision to close the airspace for precautionary reasons as a result of the surrounding security situation," Jordan’s government spokesperson Muhannad Mubaideen said.

Biden watched in real time in Situation Room as more than 300 drones and missiles rained over Tel Aviv: Inside the tense preparations as White House braced for Iran to start smashing Israel
I can just imagine the side conversations during those hours, especially as sundown approached.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] American officials breathed a sign of relief on Saturday night when they realized their preparations to help Israel, made over the past 10 days, had paid off and Iran had been thwarted.

President Joe Biden and his team were mindful the attack from Tehran 'could have caused an uncontrollable escalation abroad regional conflict, something we have worked day and night to avoid,' a senior administration told reporters in a briefing on Sunday.

Biden and his team watched - in real time in the White House Situation Room - as Iran sent over 300 aerial attacks into Israel. At one point, Tehran fired over 100 ballistic missiles at the same time, leading to a tense moment among the Americans, who said the level of force was at the 'high end' of what they expected.

'He was in the Situation Room getting real time updates, as this unfolded, including at the time of missile launches,' the official said of Biden, adding 'there was a bit of a relief, which you can imagine those tense moments,' when it was clear the attack was thwarted.

Two squadrons of U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles and anti-missile defenses shot from two U.S. aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean Sea helped Israeli defenses war off the attack, which left minimal damage.

'The United States enabled Israel to spectacularly defeat this unprecedent attack,' the U.S. official said, pointing out that 'President Biden is the first American President to directly defend Israel.'

Israel describes Iran's 350-missile attack as a 'declaration of war' and vows more 'offensive and defensive action' as G7 leaders including Rishi Sunak 'stand ready to take further measures' - but the US WON'T join any retaliation
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Israel has described Iran's unprecedented 350-missile attack as a 'declaration of war' and confirmed it has approved plans for 'offensive and defensive action'.

The country's president Isaac Herzog insisted that Israel did not want a war but suggested they would retaliate after Iran's audacious airstrike early on Sunday.

He said it was 'about time the world faces this empire of evil in Tehran' and makes it clear that its behaviour is 'unacceptable'.

President Herzog told Sky News: 'It's a declaration of war... we are considering all options and I'm quite confident we will take the necessary steps to protect and defend our people.'

Tehran had signalled that an attack was coming in retaliation for an airstrike on its diplomatic compound in Damascus, Syria, that killed two top Iranian generals earlier this month.

IDF Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari accused Iran of trying to 'ignite the Middle East and escalate the region' by firing 60 tonnes of suicide drones, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and rockets at Israel overnight - but insisted his army was on 'high alert'.

'Over the last two hours, we approved operational plans for both offensive and defensive action,' he told reporters on Sunday. 'We will continue to protect the State of Israel, and together with our partners, we will continue to build a more secure and stable future for the entire Middle East.'

The IDF spokesman said Iran's plan had 'failed' - as he praised the response from the 'regional alliance' which helped down '99 per cent' of the missiles fired. He did not elaborate on the approved plans, but it came after a meeting of Israel's war cabinet.

Leaders of the G7 - including UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak - also held talks on Sunday in which they 'unequivocally' condemned Iran's attack on Israel and warned that the risk of an 'uncontrollable regional escalation' must be avoided.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Iran's attack on Israel. 04/14/202
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] 1. Iran was solving the problem of implementing retaliatory measures to Israel’s attack on the consulate in Damascus. Iran could not not respond, since this would mean a manifestation of weakness, even within the framework of the general Iranian strategy. And that is why it was impossible to get by with the usual strikes by Iranian proxies from Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen, with which Iran habitually responded to Israeli attacks on its proxy forces. Israel sought to draw Iran into a direct attack by attacking the Iranian consulate, disregarding the Vienna Convention.

2. As part of its strategy, Iran has set the task of implementing a direct response, with strict boundary parameters. The strike should not be too weak, so as not to create the impression that Iran is faking a response, but at the same time, not too strong, so as not to make an Israeli retaliatory strike inevitable, and if it does happen, then make Israel culpable for the subsequent escalation. Hence the observed nature of the night impact.

3. From a diplomatic point of view, Iran justified its strike under the international law of retaliation in connection with the attack on the consulate. From the point of view of old international law, Iran was within its right to strike. But the problem is that international law has not been working for a long time, and within the framework of a “rules-based world order,” there can be no attacks on Israel, and Israel can attack whoever it wants. Yes, this is the bastard order that the United States is trying to preserve, and Russia and China are trying to destroy.

4. The limited nature of the Iranian strike was identical in structure to the strike on the American base of Ain al-Assad in 2020 in response to the American killing of Soleimani and Muhandis in Baghdad. All interested players were informed of the approximate time of the strike, the approximate flight directions of missiles and drones, the nature of the selected targets (military), and the boundary conditions of the response. In this regard, Iran deliberately and consciously abandoned any attempts to achieve operational-tactical surprise, and relied specifically on a targeted frontal penetration of Israeli air defenses at a specified time.

Since there was no goal of starting a full-fledged war, the strikes by Hezbollah, Ansar Allah and Iranian proxies in Syria and Iraq were of a limited auxiliary nature.

5. It is important to understand that Israel did not resist the Iranian attack alone - the US Air Force and Air Defense, British and French Air Forces, and Jordanian Air Defense took part in repelling the attack. Some of the missiles and drones were shot down on approach. In fact, there was massive testing of the consolidated air defense of the United States and Israel in the Middle East in conditions where this air defense could prepare for a strike 72 hours before it was launched.

6. The number of drones and missiles launched is key. Iranian sources said 115 missiles were fired. USA and Israel about 200+ missiles. Plus, according to various estimates, there were from 150 to 400 or even 500 drones. Objective data is not yet sufficient to determine the actual number of missiles and drones launched. In addition, in addition to missiles and drones, Iran launched various decoys and old missiles to overwhelm enemy air defense systems. Iran also used missiles with multiple warheads, which could also be counted as separate missiles.

7. If we talk about the general goals of the attacks, the IRGC states that the purpose of the attack was to break through the Israeli air defense system and defeat the air base from which the consulate in Damascus was attacked, as well as the MOSSAD intelligence facility involved in organizing the attack on the consulate. The choice of targets also shows Iran's commitment to a limited response.

In the event of “burning bridges,” Iran would certainly set as its goal the guaranteed destruction of the reactor in Dimona and buildings in the government quarter in Tel Aviv, starting with the Knesset. The strike tactics included a synchronized strike of drones, cruise and ballistic missiles in order to achieve a guaranteed penetration of the consolidated air defense system of the United States and Israel. Therefore, ballistic missiles were launched at Israel shortly before the bulk of drones and conventional missiles entered Israeli airspace.

The main striking force was the latest Haidar ballistic missiles (range 2000 km, warhead 1.5 tons, protection from electronic warfare + optional multiple warheads). Their task was to break through to their intended targets, hiding behind a cloud of drones and cheap missiles, which were supposed to overload the Iron Dome, Patriots and other air defense systems of Israel and the United States.

8. In general, Iran's tactics worked - some of the ballistic missiles broke through to the air base. Israeli sources report at least 7 arrivals, Iranian sources report 15. Iranian sources also report a successful missile strike on a MOSSAD reconnaissance facility. Israel denies this.

The IDF claims 99% of downed targets, the IRGC claims 50% of successful hits (meaning ballistics). It is obvious that Israel will in every possible way downplay the consequences of the strike and hide the casualties and destruction, since this is a matter of military prestige. It is obvious that Iran will exaggerate the consequences of the strike as much as possible and conduct active information events aimed at increasing the military prestige of the IRGC and the Iranian Armed Forces.

The same thing happened during the strike on Ain al-Assad, when Iran reported enormous damage, and the United States reported 5 wounded (in the end, there were only 135 officially wounded).

9. From a symbolic point of view, Iran decided to save face and respond to the attack on the consulate in Damascus. The Iranian military-political leadership demonstrates complete satisfaction with the received images of Operation True Promise. In addition, Iran became the first state that, for the first time in several decades after Saddam Hussein, directly struck Israel (we do not take proxy strikes into account).

Iran has also demonstrated that even with a limited strike, it can bluntly penetrate the enemy’s prepared air defense head-on, which hints that, if desired, Iran with an even more massive strike can break through the US and Israeli air defenses covering Tel Aviv, Haifa or Dimona. Israel can be satisfied that the strike on the consulate in Damascus is now over, and the damage from the Iranian strike, due to its limited nature, for Israel will be equally limited. But the point here, of course, is not only about material damage (although in addition to direct damage, one must also consider the cost of expenses of both sides - for air defense work, aviation work, drones, etc. - Israeli sources claim that Israel’s expenses alone exceeded $1 billion, and Iran spent several hundred million dollars).

10. Israel is now at a fork in the road. To strike Iran directly means to receive a retaliatory missile strike, even more powerful, which is guaranteed to penetrate the Israeli air defense system. At the same time, the United States has already stated that it will not take part in attacks on Iran, hinting that Israel should limit itself to something like the usual strikes against Hezbollah and Iranian proxies in Syria.

Similarly, Israel is actually warned against attacks on Iran by the United States' European satellites. But this, of course, will be perceived in Israel itself as a sign of weakness, because Iran has shown that it can directly hit Israel directly, which is the intersection of Israeli red lines. There will be no consolidated international condemnation of Iran, either in the UN Security Council or in the world as a whole, because Israel itself is profaning UN Security Council resolutions and violating old international law by ignoring the Vienna Convention. Therefore, Iran will not find itself in international isolation due to the strike, and Israel’s retaliatory strike on Iran will look precisely like a deliberate escalation on the part of Israel with a further increase in the toxicity of Israel outside the countries of the “golden billion.”

Iran has conquered the Muslim street and now revels in its role as the main defender of the Palestinians against the background of the traders and opportunists Erdogan and bin Salman. It was Iran that ensured that for the first time in six months not a single bomb fell on the Gaza Strip. Well, footage of missiles flying at targets in Israel over Al-Aqsa will be in the mainstream of Shiite religious and political propaganda for many years to come.

In general, Iran has solved its problems and now it’s up to the United States and Israel.

Russian Foreign Ministry on Iran's attack on Israel

Official statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry regarding Iran's night strike on Israel.

On the night of April 14, a large number of missiles and drones were launched into Israel. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, this attack was carried out within the framework of the right of self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter in response to attacks on Iranian targets in the region, including the attack on the building of the consular department of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus on April 1, which our country strongly condemned. Unfortunately, due to the position of Western members, the UN Security Council was unable to adequately respond to the attack on the Iranian consular mission.

We express our utmost concern about another dangerous escalation in the region. They have repeatedly warned that the failure to resolve numerous crises in the Middle East, primarily in the area of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which are often fueled by irresponsible provocative actions, will lead to increased tension. We call on all parties involved to exercise restraint. We hope that regional states will solve existing problems through political and diplomatic means. We believe it is important that constructive international players contribute to this.

We draw the attention of Russian citizens located in Israel and neighboring countries, primarily Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, to the need to follow messages and practical recommendations published on the information feeds of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the official websites of Russian foreign institutions in the mentioned countries, the Consular Department and Department of the Situation and Crisis Center of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including in the corresponding section of the updated resource - the “Assistant Abroad” mobile application.

In general, they called for de-escalation, they did not condemn Iran, in fact they supported Iran’s position that this was a retaliatory blow to the attack on the consulate.

And the UN Security Council will not condemn it, so the chances of any documents condemning Iran being adopted in the UN Security Council are zero.PS. Rosaviatsia reported that Iraq, Israel and Jordan have lifted restrictions on civil aviation flights. If something starts to happen, they will be brought in again. But that's it for now.

'The issue is settled': what is known about Iran’s massive attack on Israel
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Aleksandr Il'yin

[REGNUM] Last night was marked by “the largest drone attack in the history of mankind,” as the former commander of the US Army in Europe, Mark Hertling, described in the media as a full-scale attack by Iran on targets in Israel.
As in Mark "Full semiautomatic" Hertling
According to various estimates, Iran fired about 200 Shahed drones, 110 ground-based missiles and 36 cruise missiles towards the Jewish state. With reference to the Pentagon, there were even fantastic figures of 400-500 UAVs.

Most of the incoming targets were intercepted by the Iron Dome system, as well as by American, British and Jordanian air defenses involved in assisting Israel. In particular, British Air Force aircraft based at the Cyprus base took part in repelling the attack.

Iran's targets were military installations of the Israeli army located both in the center of the country and in the south, in the Negev Desert. The Lebanese Hezbollah joined in the attack on targets in the north of the country, firing unguided rockets. Israeli media assess the damage as "relatively minor." They also talk about “minor damage” at one of the military bases.

In turn, representatives of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) paint a different picture. According to them, “the IRGC attacked important military targets of the terrorist army of Israel in the occupied territories, successfully targeted and destroyed them.”

In any case, a real assessment of the damage caused can only be done after some time. And even after that, the general public may never know about the real scale of destruction.

Numerous videos circulating online show Iranian missiles flying over the territory of neighboring countries, the operation of the Dome, and explosions on the ground. Representatives of the American command say that most of the targets were destroyed outside Israeli airspace. Debris from at least one rocket fell on the streets of the Jordanian capital Amman.

The streets of Iranian cities were full of jubilant people who wanted revenge for the destruction of the Iranian consulate building in Damascus on April 1 by Israeli missiles. Then, as a result of an attack on a diplomatic institution protected by special laws, several Iranian officers and generals were killed.

After the attack, which lasted five hours, parties to the conflict and major powers, including Russia, began making diplomatic statements.

Israel has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. The country's representative, Gilad Erdan, said Iran had violated the organization's charter and asked Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to condemn the attack. “Where is your voice, where is your condemnation? Wake up!” - he wrote on social networks.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promises a “tough and clear response.” The Prime Minister himself, simultaneously with the launch of Iranian missiles and drones, addressed the nation in which he stated that he adheres to the principle: strike whoever strikes Israel. Netanyahu promises “cold-blooded and decisive” defense of Israel from any attack.

An IRGC spokesman spoke on state television about the possibility of a more serious strike if Israel decides to continue its escalation.

The leadership of the Corps, which is the most elite unit of the Iranian army and a kind of “punishing sword” of the Islamic Republic, emphasized that any manifestation of aggression and participation in causing damage to Iran from anywhere in the world will lead to a mirror response.

The IRGC also unequivocally states that the United States bears full responsibility for the actions of its ally and calls them a “terrorist regime.”

In turn, Iran's permanent mission to the UN refers to Article 51 of the organization's charter, which allows for an attack in self-defense.

“The issue is settled. But the Israeli regime may make another mistake, and then Iran’s reaction will be much harsher,” the permanent mission said. And at the same time they warned the United States that they should “keep their distance” without interfering in the conflict.

Immediately after the attack began, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei announced that the "malicious Zionist regime" would be punished.

The Iranian attack has already been condemned by Britain and France, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reminded the world that his country firmly supports Israel. The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, spoke of an "unprecedented escalation".

The First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, called what was happening “a potential acute Middle East crisis.” “If Israel responds, Iran will respond in a more powerful and decisive manner <...> It all depends on the next steps of the parties involved, or lack thereof,” he added.

According to Polyansky, an urgent meeting of the Security Council is scheduled for the evening of April 14, where the consequences of the Iranian attack will be discussed. Ahead of the meeting, both Iran and Israel have already prepared letters with mutual accusations of violating international law.

At the time of writing this material, US President Joe Biden, who urgently interrupted his weekend, is preparing an address to the nation. Earlier, the American media wrote that there is great concern in his administration due to the unpredictability of Netanyahu, who can strike back without regard for the consequences. At the same time, Iranian nuclear facilities are named as the main targets of the Israelis.

Russian Delusion Watch: Russian news roundup on the Iranian attack on Israel
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Military experts explained the success of Iran's attack
Are they considered good military experts?
[Regnum] The attack on Israeli targets was successful due to the fact that Iran was able to competently break through the air defense system of this country. Military expert Mikhail Onufrienko expressed this opinion to a Regnum correspondent on April 14.

“Iran launched several hundred Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles in different directions, which overloaded the Israeli air defense system and forced it to expend most of its missiles on them. The second echelon was already moving ballistic missiles with multiple warheads. These are not hypersonic missiles, which Iran does not have in service. The Israeli “Iron Dome” turned out to be unsuitable for intercepting ballistic missiles with multiple warheads under conditions of great physical stress,” the military expert noted.

He added that this "dome" was created to protect against primitive missiles that were used in launches from the Gaza Strip. However, for more modern missiles its permeability has become obvious. This was clear several decades ago, when American Patriot systems tried to shoot down rather primitive Iranian missiles. Then the effectiveness of these systems was estimated at 43%. The Americans tried to interpret these figures, bringing them to 62%, but even in their interpretation, a third of the missiles passed through the air defense system.

Now the situation has changed. It became obvious that cheap drones are able to overload almost any air defense system. There is no air defense system that could completely ensure 100% impenetrability of any zone. Therefore, Israel, which is surrounded by opponents on all sides, should negotiate with them. Otherwise, even with US support, it can be destroyed or damaged to such an extent that it will not be able to function as a militarized state.

In turn, captain 1st rank reserve, military expert Vasily Dandykin pointed out that there were conflicting reports about the course of events. The Israeli side claims that 99% of Iranian missiles and drones were shot down, which is similar to the rhetoric of the Kyiv regime, which also claimed the almost complete destruction of Russian missiles by Ukrainian air defenses, despite the fact that the Russian Armed Forces are effectively hitting Ukrainian targets. The Iranian side claims that there were successful hits on the target.

“Most likely, the ballistic missiles were indeed successful, bypassing Israeli air defenses, which are considered one of the best in the world. The Iranian attack was massive, more than 300 products were used, and not all of them were intercepted by Israel. Even the most modern air defense system can miss the target during a massive attack. Perhaps because of Israeli air defense, Iran's strikes were not as effective as he had hoped. Ballistic missiles had a chance of breaking through Israel’s Iron Dome, since they move at high speed,” explained the military expert.

As Regnum reported, Middle East expert Mais Kurbanov noted that with its massive attack, Iran dispelled the myth about the invincibility of Israel's air defense system.
Fascinating. Do go on.
He stressed that the strikes against Israel were Iran's legitimate right to self-defense. On April 1, Israel destroyed the Iranian consulate in Damascus with its missile attack. Among the dead were two generals of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) - Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji, and five more representatives of this military formation were also killed in the attack.

As Kurbanov noted, Israel believed that it had the most advanced air defense system in the world. However, Iran achieved its goals; it did not attack civilians. Iran's target was a military base, and it hit it. According to Israeli experts, the Iranian attack cost the Israeli economy about $1.5 billion, and this despite the fact that Iran used less than one percent of its arsenal.
That’s two percent, if the 50% failure rate is consistent across Iran’s entire supply.
Iran launched a massive attack on Israel using more than 200 missiles and attack drones. It lasted at least five hours and was a response to an Israeli military strike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus. The Israeli army, in turn, attacked targets of the Shiite organization Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that Tehran informed neighboring states about the upcoming attack on Israel three days before it began.

The head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, noted that Iran’s operation against Israel has been completed, but the Armed Forces of the republic are ready to act in the future if necessary.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in a statement after Iran’s attack on Israel, expressed concern about the dangerous escalation of the situation in the Middle East and called on all parties to show restraint. The agency recalled that the Iranian authorities called the attack an exercise of the right to self-defense and a response to the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Russia strongly condemned the attack on the consulate, but because of the position of the West, the UN Security Council did not do so, the Foreign Ministry emphasized.

NATO calls for restraint after Iran's attack on Israel. Iran's Foreign Ministry has summoned the ambassadors of Britain, Germany and France following a massive attack on Israel.

The American television channel CNN reported that Israel will respond to a massive attack by Iran, but the scale and parameters of the response have not yet been determined.

White House adviser John Kirby said the United States does not want to expand the escalation in the Middle East after Iran's massive strikes on Israel.

Minister without portfolio in the narrow military cabinet Benny Gantz said Israel intends to create a regional coalition against the Iranian threat and respond to the attack at the appropriate time and in an appropriate manner.

Orientalist Kurbanov: Iran has dispelled the myth of the invincibility of Israeli air defense
With its massive attack, Iran dispelled the myth of the invincibility of Israel's air defense system. This opinion was expressed to a Regnum correspondent on April 14 by an expert on the Middle East, Mais Kurbanov.

“Many thought that Iran would not respond to an attack by Israel, since the latter has nuclear arsenals and is backed by the United States and Europe. But Iran saw how the Americans left Afghanistan and Iraq. It became clear that they were no longer a force. The Iranian leadership is well aware that if it does not respond to aggression, Israel may take further steps. Iran warned Israel in advance about the response to the attack, thereby giving it the opportunity to prepare for it. As a result of the night operation, Iran checked the operation of its drones, assessed their vulnerability and accuracy of hitting the target,” the orientalist noted.

As the expert noted, Israel believed that it had the most advanced air defense system in the world. However, Iran achieved its goals; it did not attack civilians. Iran's target was a military base, and it hit it. According to Israeli experts, the Iranian attack cost the Israeli economy about $1.5 billion, and this despite the fact that Iran used less than one percent of its arsenal.

Iran has dispelled the myth of the invincibility of Israel's air defense system. Despite the fact that American and European fighter jets were scrambled to counter the drones, the Iranian drones reached their target. Iran has shown that it can give an answer to everyone. Together with Russia, he is taking big steps to create a multipolar world, Kurbanov added.

As Regnum reported, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel using more than 200 missiles and attack drones. It lasted at least five hours and was a response to an Israeli military strike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus. The Israeli army, in turn, attacked targets of the Shiite organization Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, noted that Iran’s operation against Israel has been completed, but the Armed Forces of the republic are ready to act in the future if necessary.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Washington is holding back the Middle East conflict, unlike the Ukrainian one, due to possible damage to its own interests. According to him, the death of people in Gaza worsens the prospects of US President Joe Biden in the upcoming elections, and due to the conflict between Israel and Iran, uncertainty is growing.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in a statement after Iran’s attack on Israel, expressed concern about the dangerous escalation of the situation in the Middle East and called on all parties to show restraint. The American television channel CNN reported that Israel will respond to a massive attack by Iran, but the scale and parameters of the response have not yet been determined.

Russian political scientist, historian, expert on the problems of the Middle East and Central Asia, Semyon Bagdasarov, noted that if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decides to retaliate against Iran’s nuclear facilities, Tehran may take more powerful actions against Israel. Iran has significantly more powerful weapons, such as the Kheibar Shekan missiles with a range of 1,450 kilometers and warheads weighing 550 kilograms, he added.

Head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces: if Israel responds, the next attack will be larger
Iran will respond with redoubled force if Israel takes any action on Iranian soil. The head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, announced thisto the Tasnim agency on April 14.

According to him, if Israel responds to the operation that Iran carried out on the night of April 14, then the next response will be much broader and larger-scale.

As noted by the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami, Iran's operation against Israel was more successful than expected.

“Our reaction to any aggression from Israel will be more severe,” the Iranian Press TV channel reports his words.

As reported by Regnum news agency, Bagheri previously said that Iran’s operation against Israel has been completed, but the Armed Forces of the republic are ready to act in the future if necessary.

How does Israel's Iron Dome work?
I don"t know, but as far as I know, we don’t have one and should.
[GEO.TV] One of the advanced air defence systems Iron Dome started operating in 2011. It detects missiles, drones, and rockets when they are launched toward Israel and stops them in mid-air by destroying the projectiles.

The highly effective missile defence was developed by indigenous firm Rafael Advanced Defence Systems with
[billion$ in]
US support.

It comprises mobile units on trucks and batteries. They are scattered all over Israel. It has three to four launchers that can fire up to 20 interceptor missiles.

On the initial level, radars detect approaching objects, and the information is transferred for analysis.

The experts decide after analysing the information what to launch for interception.

Then counter missiles are fired directly, or near their flying path to neutralise the coming projectiles or weapons.

It can be overwhelmed after a large number of rockets are fired, as Hamas did on October 7, last year.

It is known as Kippat Barzel in Hebrew and there are personnel overseeing the system 24/7.

The country also has medium and long-range defence systems, called David"s Sling, Patriot, and Arrow.

How much does Iron Dome cost?
According to the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, each Iron Dome missile interceptor costs between $40,000 and $50,000 to produce.

Iran"s missile attack cost Israel 4-5 billion shekels Sunday, Brigadier General Reem Aminoach, former financial advisor to the IDF chief of staff, told Ynet studio.

The Washington-based security think tank estimated that a complete system costs around $100 million to produce.

A CNN report estimated that the US has spent over $2.9 billion on the Iron Dome program.

Jordan says it intercepted launched Iranian drones
Good job, guys!
[Regnum] Jordan intercepted drones launched from Iran towards Israel that violated the country's airspace. This was stated in a statement by the Jordanian government on April 14.

It lasted at least five hours and was a response to an Israeli military strike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus. The Israeli army, in turn, attacked targets of the Shiite organization Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, said that Iran’s operation against Israel has been completed, but the Armed Forces of the republic are ready to act in the future if necessary. Sunak said the British Air Force shot down several Iranian drones
British Air Force fighters took part in repelling an Iranian attack on Israel on the night of April 14, said the head of the British government, Rishi Sunak, quoted by Reuters.

“I can confirm that our aircraft did shoot down several Iranian attack drones,” he said.

The British prime minister also noted that if the Iranian attack had been successful, the consequences for regional stability would be difficult to overestimate.

“We support the security of Israel and the region as a whole. Now we need calm to prevail,” he stressed.

As Regnum reported, on the night of April 14, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel using more than 200 missiles and attack drones. The operation, called “True Promise,” lasted at least five hours and was a response to an Israeli military strike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the repulsion of an Iranian air attack, promising that the country and the Israeli people will win. The strikes against Israel were Iran's legitimate right to self-defense, said the country's President Ibrahim Raisi, in turn. Iranian authorities also noted that if Israel takes retaliatory measures, Tehran’s new attack will be much larger.

In addition, Iran has threatened the United States that if it intervenes in the conflict between Israel and Iran, American forces in the region will be attacked. The Iranian Foreign Ministry also informed that it had brought to the attention of the US administration that the attack on Israel was limited.

In addition, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassadors of Great Britain, Germany and France due to the irresponsible position of some British, French and German officials.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in a statement after Iran’s attack on Israel, expressed concern about the dangerous escalation of the situation in the Middle East and called on all parties to show restraint. NATO also called for restraint. As the press secretary of the military bloc Farah Dakhlallou noted, events in the region cannot be allowed to get out of control.

Iran used at least seven hypersonic missiles during attacks on Israel. The Iranian state television channel Press TV reported this on April 14.

It is noted that at least seven hypersonic missiles were used during the attack on the Nevatim airbase. Moreover, according to the channel, not a single one of them was intercepted by “defenseless Israel.”
That’s certainly one perspective…
As Regnum reported, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that Tehran informed neighboring states about the upcoming attack on Israel three days before it began.

On the night of April 14, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel using several hundred missiles and attack drones. It was a response to an Israeli military strike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus and lasted, according to US authorities, at least five hours.

The strikes against Israel were Iran's legitimate right of self-defense, the country's President Ibrahim Raisi said on April 14. Previously, Iranian authorities also noted that if Israel takes retaliatory measures, Tehran’s new attack will be much larger.
