More than 200 US chemical plants must reduce toxic emissions under new EPA rule - after Louisiana town becomes 'cancer cluster' from rubber facility polluting air for decades
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • The rule comes after years of cancer in local communities near chemical plants

  • Local communities have begged the government for years to restrict chemicals

  • The rule still will not eliminate the cancer-causing chemicals from being emitted

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Tuesday that plants will need to cut emissions of ethylene oxide (EtO), chloroprene and other toxins by 80 percent.

Chemical plants affected by the rule are located in 29 different states, most of them in Ohio, Louisiana, and Texas, and include those that produce car antifreeze and the synthetic rubber neoprene, as well as petroleum refineries.

Colorado wildlife agency claims it is not to blame for wolf kills, ranchers threaten future partnerships
[COLORADOPOLITICS] Even as officials of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife insist the recent killing of a calf by wolf is not their fault, the relationship with ranchers has soured to the point private landowners have begun considering to restrict state access to their properties, potentially jeopardizing programs that rely on the latter's help.

Notably, private landowners play a significant role in the state's conservation work. Indeed, the state's private land program says without that support, "modern-day Colorado's remarkable wildlife abundance — and equally rich hunting and fishing opportunities — simply would not exist."

That support is now in jeopardy.

Last week, as CPW officials maintained they were just trying to do their jobs, a letter from the Yuma County Cattlemen’s Association said ranchers will be less likely to help Colorado Parks and Wildlife and open land to the public because of how the wolf reintroduction transpired.

One or more of the wolves released in Grand County in December — which came from wolf packs in Oregon with a history of killing livestock — killed a calf near Kremmling on April 2. It was the first kill by one of the December wolves, although the predators from Wyoming who moved into Jackson County have already killed at least 16 livestock, sheep, and working dogs.

Commissioner Marie Haskett of Meeker addressed the wolf kill and CPW’s involvement during an April 5 commission meeting. "It's been quiet, but depredation has begun," she said. "I would like to ask people not to blame CPW for the wolf depredations. What we did was mandated (by law)."

Haskett said the wolf introduction was the people's will, adding, "We need everybody to work with us, so please remember that. And don't hold it against CPW. It was just something that we had to do by law."

CPW Director Jeff Davis echoed Haskett, saying, "CPW is just implementing the law" Folks, he said, tend to see the agency as "doing this to them."
I just followed orders isn't a valid defense, bud.
Erin Karney, executive vice president for the Colorado Cattlemen's Association, isn't buying that argument.

Karney said the state agency decided which wolves would be brought to Colorado, including animals that came from packs with a history of killing livestock. As an agency, officials must take responsibility for releasing the wolves, Karney said, adding the officials know wolves are apex predators - that's animals atop the food chain with no natural predators.

Hence, Karney argued, it's not reasonable for agency officials to claim they aren't responsible.

During the April 2 hearing, Davis claimed that wildlife staff have attempted to minimize the conflicts, adding that the agency stands with ranchers "in their anger and their fear."
Goddamn liberal assclowns coming here and fucking up the state even more to make themselves feel better while taxing us into poverty. Fuck Colorado. Sad to see my native state go so downhill and I'm leaving.

#1  Yeah, I dealt with these do-nothing idiots when I lived in Evergreen CO, on Bear mountain (@8000ft) west of Denver. ('95-'01)

Every time I would take in a broken razorhead, Elk cape or full severed head they would find some way to ignore the year-round bowhunter meat poaching.
"Just practicing",
"Oh, that's valuable. I'm not in animal control. I have to go to lunch",
"Probably fell out of a hunter's truck, returning from Utah".

A bear ate my dog.
"He doesn't have a collar."
"That was probably a mountain lion."

Found my silver-dapple longhaired dachsund (dog) arrow-skewered and trophy skinned for his hide.
"Did you take him to a vet?"

Iraq
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi: notorious terrorist or American agent?

[Cradle] Ranked second only to Osama bin Laden, the US's most notorious declared enemy during the so-called War on Terror was Jordanian jihadist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the founder of Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI).

But a closer examination of Zarqawi's life and his impact on events in Iraq shows that he was likely a product and tool of US intelligence.
If I was really, really smart I'd get fiftyother former intelligence professionals together and we'd all write a leter (I could help with the spelig) to state that this is utter bull droppings.
Neoconservative strategists within the administration of George W. Bush utilized Zarqawi as a pawn to justify the illegal US invasion of Iraq in 2003 to the American public.
Wasn't the sequence first invasion then Zark?
Moreover, he was instrumental in fomenting internal discord within Iraqi resistance groups opposing the US occupation, ultimately instigating a sectarian civil war between Iraq's Sunni and Shia communities.

Skipping down a bit.

Then, in January 2004, the key pillar of the Bush administration's justification for war unraveled. David Kay, the weapons inspector tasked with finding Iraq's WMDs, publicly declared, "I don't think they exist," after nine months of searching.
See? It wasn't that hard to prove a negative, was it?
That would be the late David Kay.

Israel threatens to bomb nuke sites as Iran backs down from direct attack – report
Correctly attributed to a Skid comment from earlier this morning.
[Times of IS] Following last week’s strike in Damascus and threats of retaliation from Iranian officials, Israel has signaled that it will attack targets in Iran if it were to launch a direct attack, according to an Arab report Monday.

Citing an anonymous "Western security official," the London-based Elaph News reported that Israel has been conducting air force drills in recent days that include preparing to target Iranian nuclear facilities and other key infrastructure.

Unnamed US intelligence sources told CNN, however, that Iran is unlikely to attack Israel directly out of fear of American and Israeli reprisal, and will instead urge its various proxies in the region to launch attacks on its behalf in the coming days.

Published on Monday night, the report cast doubt on previous assessments by both Washington and Jerusalem that an attack by Iran was "inevitable."

Israel has been on high alert over the past week amid Iranian officials’ promises of revenge for a Damascus airstrike that killed their top commander in Syria, Mohammad Reza Zahedi; alongside six other members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and at least one member of Iranian proxy group Hezbollah.

commander in Somalia over the weekend, officials said, making a significant run in the fight against the forces of Evil who have grounded the country's struggling economy for the last two decades.

Al-Shabaab has been fighting to topple the fragile UN-backed federal government of Somalia but efforts by multi-agency security teams have managed to stabilize the country, although several villages are still under the control of the holy warriors.

According to reports, an operation in Lower Shabelle left a senior commander of the group dead in what the military referred as to an 'important' milestone in the fight against the group. Several members of the group were also killed, officials said.

The operation took place at Hanti Wadag and the leader identified as Zubeir was killed during the confrontation. Zubeir was the senior security chief of the group, in charge of operations, the government reported without giving finer details.

According to the government, the Danab commandos also destroyed the group's positions in the area, vowing to continue such operations against the al-Shabaab group. The government is still pursuing forces of Evil who may have fled from the scene, authorities revealed.

The Somali National Army has been conducting raids across the country targeting al-Shabaab forces of Evil who control large swathes of rural central and southern regions. The operations in these regions have left thousands of the forces of Evil dead.

According to reports, the government troops with assistance from the US Africa Command and the African Union

Turkey says Israel denied its request to join Gaza aid airdrops

, and Ankara will take new measures against Israel in response, its foreign minister, Hakan Fidan, said on Monday.

Turkey, which openly supports Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, denounced Israel for its offensive in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate ceasefire, has sent tens of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid there since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7.

The United States started dropping deliveries of aid into Gaza by air last month, with the Netherlands, La Belle France, Spain, and others contributing.

"We also conveyed our request to be included in this humanitarian aid operation with (Ottoman Turkish) air forces’ cargo planes. Today, we learned that our request was rejected by Israel, despite a positive approach by the Jordanian authorities," Fidan said in a statement to the media.

Israeli authorities did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

"There is no excuse for Israel to block our attempt to drop aid to starving Gazooks," Fidan said, adding that Turkey has decided to take a "series of new measures" against the Jewish state.

"These measures, approved by our president, will be implemented step by step, without delay," Fidan said, without elaborating.

"The measures to be announced by our relevant institutions will continue until Israel declares a ceasefire and allows humanitarian aid to reach Gaza without interruption," he said.

Turkey and Israel normalized ties in 2022 by reappointing ambassadors, after years of tensions. But those links quickly deteriorated after Hamas invaded Israel on October 7

What military support does the US give Israel?
[IsraelTimes] A look at the financial, military and diplomatic support provided by Washington as calls mount for the US to reexamine its role amid Israel’s war with the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", terror regime in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has prompted calls for Washington to put conditions on the billions of dollars in military funding and other assistance it provides to Israel, which, since World War II, has received more United States foreign aid from the US than any other country.

The following are details of US support for Israel as it fights Hamas holy warriors in Gaza.

What aid is mandated by law?

In 2016, the US and Israeli governments signed a third 10-year memorandum of understanding, covering the period from Oct. 1, 2018 to Sept. 30, 2028. The MOU provides a total of $38 billion in military aid over the 10 years, $33 billion in grants to buy military equipment and $5 billion for missile defense systems.

What advanced weapons systems does Israel get?

Israel is the first international operator of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, considered the most technologically advanced fighter jet ever made. Israel is in the process of buying 75 F-35s and — as of last year — had taken delivery of 36, paying for them with US assistance.

The US has also helped Israel develop and arm its Iron Dome short-range rocket defense system, developed after the 2006 war between Israel and Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity™, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade...
-based Hezbollah. The United States has repeatedly sent Israel hundreds of millions of dollars to help replenish its interceptor missiles.

Washington has also helped fund the development of Israel’s "David’s Sling" system, designed to shoot down rockets fired from 100 kilometers to 200 km (62 miles to 124 miles) away.

Will Israel get more for its campaign against Hamas?

Last year, US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect hacked up by the World's Greatest Deliberative Body. The guy who single-handedly lost Afghanistan...
asked Congress to approve a $95 billion (NIS 354 billion) supplemental spending bill that included $14 billion (NIS 52 billion) for Israel, in addition to $60 billion (NIS 223 billion) for Ukraine, support for Taiwan and billions in humanitarian assistance.

That package passed the Senate with 70% support in February but has been blocked in the House, whose Republican leaders will not call it up for a vote, largely because of their objection to further funding for Ukraine.

It also faces resistance from a handful of left-leaning Democrats who object to sending more money to Israel while it pursues a military campaign that has killed more than 33,000 people in Gaza, according to the Strip’s Hamas-controlled health ministry.

The figure cannot be independently verified and includes some 13,000 Hamas holy warriors Israel says it has killed in battle. Israel also says it killed some 1,000 button men inside Israel on October 7, when thousands of Hamas-led holy warriors stormed southern Israel, killing nearly 1,200 people and taking over 253 hostages.

How else does Washington support Israel?

The US has long used its veto power at the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
Security Council to block resolutions seen as critical of Israel. Earlier in the six-month-long war in Gaza, it vetoed measures that included calls for an immediate ceasefire that were not linked to a hostage release.

To pass in the Security Council, a resolution needs at least nine votes in favor and no veto by the US, La Belle France, Britannia, Russia or China.

In late March, Washington dropped its traditional protection of Israel by abstaining from a vote on a resolution demanding a ceasefire, instead of casting a veto, although it described the brief text as "non-binding."

#1  Supposedly when we give money to foreign countries that gives us leverage over them. But we don't have any leverage over Israel. Israel is ripping us off. Even the slime molds in Europe do what we tell them. They're nice little lapdogs. But all we get from Israel are dogbites. It's harming our international reputation as leader of the rules-based international order. We're supposed to rein in rogue states and bring them to heel when they do things like this. But we aren't, which is making us look ridiculous in the eyes of the world. BRICS is gaining strength and we're losing it.

So why are we giving them money?

#8  But we don't have any leverage over Israel.

When backed into a corner with their survival threatened, nation-states can be as vicious as rabid wolverines. Existential concerns override leverage or any other Great Game considerations. Both Russia and Israel are current examples.

When analyzing a threat, will and capability matter. The other side may hate you and want you exterminated, but if they lack the capability to do anything about it, they are not an existential threat. If Hamas was capable of nothing more than randomly blowing up pizza parlors and the occasional checkpoint stabbing, it would be business as usual for everyone. Hamas had the will, but not the capability to be more than a deadly nuisance. On October 7, they demonstrated a new capability that elevated them into the existential threat category.

Israel is removing that threat. Harsh words and sanctions will not deter them because survival is at stake. Overly dramatic? Israel is a small country. If a terrorist attack in the US killed 60,000 people, would harsh words, platitudes and hand-waving be a sufficient response?

Hamas isn't any threat to Israel's survival. they're a bunch of dudes with AKs, their best weapon is homemade from lengths of water pipe. Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Senior commander in Hezbollah's elite force killed in IDF strike
[IsraelTimes] Ali Ahmed Hassin, a Radwan field commander, had been tasked with attacks on Ramim Ridge area in northern Israel amid war; explosive-laden drone hits near Rosh Hanikra

The Israel Defense Forces early Monday eliminated a senior field commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force in southern Lebanon, the military and the terror group said.

Ali Ahmed Hassin, according to the IDF, held a rank equivalent to a brigade commander, and was charged with attacks on northern Israel’s Ramim Ridge, an area that has come under repeated rocket, missile, and explosive-laden drone fire amid the war against the Hamas terror group in the south.

"As part of his role, he was responsible for the planning and execution of terror attacks in the Ramim Ridge area against the Israeli home front," the IDF said.

Hassin was struck in the southern Lebanon town of as-Sultaniyah. According to the IDF, another two Hezbollah operatives under his command were killed in the strike.

Hezbollah announced Hassin’s death, saying he was killed "on the road to Jerusalem," its term for operatives slain in Israeli strikes. The terror group did not refer to him as a commander.

The Radwan force is believed by Israeli officials to be tasked with potentially infiltrating into the country.

Hassin was the fifth Hezbollah officer with a rank equivalent to a brigade commander to be killed by Israel amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, according to the IDF. The military has said that more than 30 Hezbollah commanders have been killed in its strikes in the past six months.

Meanwhile, on Monday afternoon, an explosive-laden drone launched by Hezbollah struck an area near Rosh Hanikra. The IDF said the strike caused a small fire in an open area, and that there were no reports of injuries. Hezbollah took responsibility for the attack, claiming to have targeted an Israeli naval base in the area.

Drone infiltration sirens had sounded in several communities in the Western Galilee amid the incident.

Throughout Sunday, Hezbollah continued its attacks on northern Israel, with the IDF saying it targeted sites belonging to the terror group in response.

On Sunday morning, a barrage of rockets was fired from Lebanon at the Golan Heights and Manara area, and in the evening, a rocket fired at the northern city of Safed was successfully intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system, the IDF said. There were other attacks on army bases and communities in northern Israel throughout the day.

The IDF said Sunday evening that its fighter jets carried out strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon’s Kafr Kila, as well as a rocket launcher in the town of Yaroun.

Earlier Sunday, the IDF said fighter jets carried out strikes on a military compound belonging to the Radwan force in southern Lebanon’s Khiam. The compound included seven buildings used by the terror group, according to the IDF.

The IDF said it also struck a Hezbollah command center in Toura.

Since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israeli communities and military posts along the border on a near-daily basis, with the group saying it is doing so to support Gaza amid the war there. Some 3,100 rockets, missiles, and drones have been launched from Lebanon at northern Israel since the beginning of the war. Another 35 have been fired from Syria, according to the IDF.

Some 4,700 Hezbollah positions have been hit by the IDF amid the war, according to the military.

So far, the skirmishes on the border have resulted in eight civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 10 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

Hezbollah has named 273 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon but some also in Syria. In Lebanon, another 53 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and at least 60 civilians, three of whom were journalists, have been killed.

Trump's got it right.
Leave it up to the STATES instead of DC.

The State voters should actually be the only a real say in the matter.

Instead of a National Political Party, well known to be funded by PPH, a collection Global Population Control Elitists and even genocidal racists with agendas.

But, why no outcry?
Well Federal Politicians, Lobbyist and companies with a history of seeking to trim certain minority racial populations and the medical industry selling Stem cells and baby parts will lose a source of $$$$$, votes and/or power.

BTW: look it for yourself.

The mission of the EIS is to prevent epidemics from arriving on American soil. The intrepid EIS failed to stop the Covid virus from arriving stateside, and their failure has not been subjected to investigation. In early 2020, EIS veteran Dr. Nancy Messonnier, the sister of Rod Rosenstein, delivered a series of press briefings that faithfully echoed China’s talking points.

"We are proud of our training and service in the EIS, promoting CDC’s vital mission to protect the health of the American people," claims an October 14, 2020 "Open Letter by Epidemic Intelligence Service Officers Past and Present — in Support of CDC." As the letter explains, "the US epidemic is sustained by deadly chains of transmission that crisscross the entire country."

Georgia Defendant Harrison Floyd Catches Fani Willis in a New Crime! – Gives Her Until Monday Afternoon to Recuse Herself From RICO Case or Face Charges!
[Gateway] Harrison Floyd, former leader of Black Voices for Trump and a defendant in Fani Willis’s lawfare suit against President Trump and his associates, caught Fulton County District Attorney committing another crime.

It is already widely known that Willis committed perjury when lying in court about the length of her affair with her lead prosecutor on the case, Nathan Wade. Both Willis and Wade lied about when their affair started in order to cover up that she hired him not on his talent or legal mind but because she could then work with the traffic attorney and pay him for his services in the Trump RICO case.

Wade was forced to resign from the case for committing the exact same crimes as his lover who is still overseeing the case against the former president. The legacy media has completely ignored Fani’s lawlessness as they cover this charade.

Now Harrison Floyd has caught Willis in another criminal act. Floyd alleged Willis illegally recorded a telephone call with his attorney in an unrelated criminal case in Maryland. Maryland is a two-party state, meaning both parties in an electronic discussion must give their permission to record the conversation.

Harrison Floyd pointed this out last week in his threat to Fani Willis.

In interrogation, Islamic Jihad spokesman admits group's rocket struck Gaza hospital
[IsraelTimes] Tarek Abu Shaluf, one of 500 terror operatives captured by IDF at Shifa Hospital, details how group lied about al-Ahli blast, use of Strip’s medical centers

The Israel Defense Forces on Monday released footage from the interrogation of the front man for the political wing of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, in which he admitted that the terror group tried to hide the fact that one of its rockets struck al-Ahli Arab Hospital at the beginning of the war, as well as saying that terror operatives use "all hospitals in the Gaza Strip."

Tarek Abu Shaluf was among 500 terror operatives captured by the IDF at Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital last month, the military said.

The IDF said Abu Shaluf "advanced acts of incitement and propaganda from within Shifa Hospital, and testified to the use of the compound and medical equipment for terror purposes."

In the video, Abu Shaluf is seen telling an interrogator of the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 that the blast at al-Ahli hospital (which he referred to by the local name of "Mamadani Hospital") was "a local rocket. We said it was Israeli."

Israel accused Islamic Jihad of firing the rocket that fell short and hit the hospital in late October, reportedly killing dozens of people, hours after Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, officials falsely blamed an Israeli strike, a claim that international media outlets widely reported.

"To erase this story, the movement (Islamic Jihad) made some moves — it made up a story that the rocket belonged to the occupation (Israel) and that the target was the [hospital] building," Abu Shalaf said.

Asked by the interrogator which hospitals Islamic Jihad and Hamas use in Gaza, Abu Shalaf said, "All of the hospitals."

"Because there is internet there 24 hours, there is electricity 24 hours," he said, explaining that when terror groups use the hospitals, they occupy a room or two in each ward, without needing to close an entire department.

Abu Shaluf in his interrogation also detailed the use of ambulances by terror operatives at the hospitals.

International law stipulates that while a medical facility is a protected site in conflict, it loses that status if it is used for military activity.

Israel has offered evidence that Hamas and Islamic Jihad use such facilities as cover for terror purposes and says the groups plunder humanitarian aid to take supplies for its fighters, depriving the civilian population.

Despite overwhelming evidence, Hamas has denied operating from Shifa and other health facilities.

During the two-week-long raid at Shifa in March, the IDF said troops captured some 900 suspects, of whom more than 500 were confirmed to be terror operatives, and killed more than 200 button men.

Among those killed and detained were top commanders in Hamas and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad. Valuable intelligence was also seized, the IDF said.

-Great Cultural Revolution
30-Year Naval Academy Teacher Details Depth Of DEI Rot In America's Military Institutions
[Federalist] It’s no secret the Biden administration has "reimagined" the U.S. military into a left-wing social experiment. From employing enlisted drag queens to boost recruitment to using taxpayer funds to host LGBT "pride" events on military installations, America’s supreme fighting force has prioritized promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) racism over addressing the biggest challenges hampering U.S. military readiness.

A recently released book unveils how this leftist ideology is also infecting the military’s service academies. In Saving Our Service Academies: My Battle with, and for, the US Naval Academy to Make Thinking Officers, author and professor Bruce Fleming documents the pervasiveness of DEI throughout the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) and shows how the institution’s cookie-cutter bureaucracy is crippling individuality among the school’s midshipmen.

During his over 30-year teaching career at the institution, Fleming served (for a time) on the USNA Admissions Board, which evaluates applicants and decides which are ultimately admitted into the school. While on the board, he allegedly discovered that — like many civilian colleges — the academy considers applicants’ race throughout the admissions process and accepts nonwhite applicants who don’t meet the school’s academic requirements. Fleming claims that "[a]pplicants who self-identified as a member of a race the Academy wished to privilege ... were briefed separately to the committee not by a white member but by a minority Navy lieutenant."

"The choices are simple. If you want students who look a certain way but tend to score lower than others, you accept the lower scores and stop talking about your standards. Or you go with the class that can meet these standards and stop talking about the way they look," Fleming writes. "The Naval Academy tries to square the circle by both bragging about its standards and letting in half the class to lower standards."

Last year, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision that the use of race-based admissions, or "affirmative action," by institutions of higher education is unconstitutional. That decision did not, however, address the use of such policies by U.S. military academies. Students for Fair Admissions — the plaintiff in the aforementioned SCOTUS decision — filed lawsuits against West Point and the Naval Academy over their race-based admissions policies in September and October, respectively.

Throughout his book, Fleming further notes that the USNA’s obsession with race is creating "resentment within the ranks," and that students who speak out against the school’s DEI-focused promotion system are punished.

"What I saw at Annapolis was that nonracist white midshipmen became resentful at realizing that leadership positions were awarded to less competent midshipmen on the basis of skin color, and that they themselves, if they noted this out loud, were punished for not being with the program — which increased their resentment," Fleming writes. "All promotions or preferences are individual ones, and ’broadly reflective diversity’ is bought at the individual level by preferring a less competent individual with the desired skin color. If they are equally competent or more competent, the problem disappears."

In first, C-Dome aerial defense system shoots down drone near Eilat
[Ynet] Israel for the first time, used the C-Dome aerial defense system late on Monday, to intercept a UAV that infiltrated its space near the southern city of Eilat.

The intercepting missile was fired from a Sa'ar 6-class corvette that had just recently become operational in the navy.

The drone was monitored from the naval vessel by the C-Dome system, similar to the Iron Dome missile defense system used on land but made to defend sea faring vessels and infrastructure including offshore gas rigs. When it crossed into Israeli airspace it was successfully shot down. According to the military, no injuries or damage was reported.
The Times of Israel adds:

Freed Gaza hostage says she was abducted by armed civilians, sold to Hamas

An Israeli hostage who was kidnapped during the Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,-led terror onslaught on October 7 said Monday that she was captured by armed Paleostinian civilians who later sold her to the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. -ruling terror group.

Nili Margalit’s revelation in an interview with the Le Point French magazine appeared to further highlight the extent to which participation in the shock attack in which some 1,200 Israelis were killed and 253 were taken hostage extended beyond fighters in the Hamas terror group.

Margalit shared her story while on a Gay Paree stop of a tour throughout Europe aimed at raising awareness of the 133 Israelis still in captivity.

Margalit was in her home in the Gaza-border town of Kibbutz Nir Oz when thousands of Paleostinian murderous Moslems burst across the border shortly after dawn. Like many others, she took refuge in her house’s bomb shelter before messages began flooding in from neighbors sharing that murderous Moslems had infiltrated their town, she recalled in the interview.

At around 9 a.m. murderous Moslems breached Margalit’s home, ransacking rooms and setting the building on fire. They soon found her hiding in her safe room.

It was not locked, allowing the attackers to open it easily. The unlocked door may have actually saved her life. "Those who barricaded themselves in the [safe rooms] died because the murderous Moslems shot through the doors and set them on fire," she explained. In Margalit’s case, the murderous Moslems simply opened the safe room door before they found a need to shoot through the entrance.

The 42-year-old was pulled outside and covered with a white sheet while surrounded by what she described as "civilians armed with Kalashnikovs." She was forced onto a golf cart and driven to the southern border before being transferred to a car and driven to the Gazook city of Khan Younis.

There, her civilian captors "negotiated with Hamas to sell me. When they were paid, I was taken straight into a tunnel," she said.

Initially, Margalit was taken to an area with about thirty other people — many of whom were friends and neighbors from Nir Oz.

"The men had swollen faces and injured legs after being dragged on a cycle of violence," she said.

The hostages were divided into smaller groups, including one that was made up of people above the age of 70. "I mentioned that I was an emergency room nurse," Margalit said.

She was eventually put in a small room with around a dozen other people, under the watch of four guards. Crammed together, they were given small daily rations of rice and bread that caused stomach issues for some of the hostages.

"Several hostages did not have their glasses, or hearing aids or lacked oxygen. I was their eyes and ears so they could find their way in the tunnels," she said.

Margalit worked to maintain herself by doing yoga exercises. She took care of the other hostages, especially those who were elderly or needed medications.

One of the captors, speaking in Arabic translated by a hostage, asked for a list of medications they needed, but the medicine that arrived was inadequate.

"We quickly established a routine: patients had to eat at the same time, then take their pills at another time," she told Le Point. "But we were short on stock. We learned afterward that Hamas had received boxes of medicine and glasses from the Red Thingy, sent according to the needs of each hostage."

The days "were extremely long" and the captives inevitably got into arguments.

"There were shouting matches, crying [but also] laughter. It’s normal when you put ten people in the same room — we’re human! But we always supported each other."

"At first, I told myself it would only last two days. Then I understood that Israel would never pay for so many hostages. This depressed some of us. We had to hold on psychologically. Helping was my way of surviving."

Margalit said the hostages were largely unaware of what else had happened on October 7 beyond their individual abductions.

She was eventually released from Gaza on November 30, 2023, as part of a negotiated truce between Israel and Hamas that freed over 100 hostages. She received no warning of her impending freedom.

"A guard came and picked me up, pointed at me, and said, ’Go, go,’" giving her no time to say farewell to the other hostages with whom she had been held captive.

Once back in Israel, family and friends visited her in the hospital where she was recovering and they slowly informed her of what had happened on October 7. A day after her release, the IDF confirmed the death of her father, Eliyahu Margalit, whose body remains in Gaza.

Margalit is now touring Europe to campaign on behalf of the remaining hostages’ plight.

"Freeing the hostages is the key to ending this war," she said.

As for herself, she remarked, "My rehabilitation will begin the day the hostages are out."

Russian Foreign Ministry: Western media instructed to remain silent about number of Crocus terrorist attack victims
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The media of Western countries were given instructions not to mention the number of victims of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in order to distract the world community from the real organizers and beneficiaries of the incident, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on April 8.

The department noted that the editors of leading Western publications were given specific instructions to consolidate in the information space their own version of events around the terrorist attack about the involvement of the ISIS group (a terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) in its organization, the denial of ties between Islamists and the government of Ukraine or Western intelligence services, discrediting the results of the investigation and promoting various kinds of conspiracy theories about the involvement of Russian special services.

“The inadmissibility of demonstrating sympathy and humanism towards the Russian people was noted,” says the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel.

The department noted that the attempts of Western countries to distract the world community from the real organizers and beneficiaries are given a special cynicism by the categorical instruction not to cover the true scale of the tragedy in the media, namely not to mention the number of victims of the terrorist attack, dead children, and to exclude demonstrations of the reaction of ordinary citizens to what happened.

As IA Regnum reported, on the evening of March 22, armed terrorists attacked the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow, where a concert of the Picnic group was to take place. The attackers opened fire on visitors with machine guns and set the building on fire. The terrorist attack killed 145 people, including six children. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Moscow Region, more than 500 people were injured.
The biggest jihadi attack in Russia since Beslan in 2004, as I recall.
In connection with the terrorist attack, 11 people were arrested, including four direct perpetrators, who were detained in the Bryansk region, not far from the border with Ukraine.
And very odd the location of their arrest appears, too. The four arrested reportedly claimed to be unremarkable Tajiks hired by ISIS-K to do the deed for $10,000, which is also odd.
On March 27, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said that the testimony of those involved in the terrorist attack case confirms the Ukrainian trace. He noted that the terrorists could not have organized the attack on their own; they had help.

On April 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised that Russia would reach all the beneficiaries and customers of the terrorist attack. On April 4, the head of state also stated that the main goal of those who ordered the terrorist attack was to damage the unity of Russia.

On April 3, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, in a telephone conversation with the head of the French Ministry of Defense, Sebastian Lecornu, said that Moscow has information about the Ukrainian trace in organizing a terrorist attack in the Moscow region.

On the way to the complete liberation of the DPR. Russian troops storm Chasov Yar
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Sergey Adamov

[REGNUM] Russian troops are advancing on several sectors of the front in the area of the Northern Military District. Fighting continues in the Marinka, Avdeevka, Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions.

One of the most tense sections of the front was the Chasov Yar area. Adviser to the head of the DPR, Jan Gagin, was one of the first to report fighting on the outskirts of the city. According to his information, Chasov Yar was seriously strengthened and mined by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which previously fought in the Bakhmut-Soledar area.

“From our positions to the city of Chasov Yar itself there is about half a kilometer left. Let’s just say we are already in the suburbs,” Gagin said.

Ukrainian sources also confirm information about heavy fighting in the city. The day before, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, admitted that the situation in this area remains “tense.”

“A particularly difficult situation has developed in the Bakhmut, Avdeevsky and Novopavlovsky directions,” said Syrsky.

He added that the situation in Chasovoy Yar is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and all attacks were allegedly successfully repelled. According to unconfirmed reports, the loss of the city could cost Syrsky his post as commander-in-chief, so heavy fighting should be expected in the Bakhmut direction.

Moreover, the Ukrainian command plans to use the terrain for its own purposes.

THE UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES ARE TRANSFERRING RESERVES
The city of Chasov Yar is divided into two unequal halves by the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal (also known as the Seversky Canal). On the left bank there is the Canal microdistrict, on the right bank there is the historical center of the city, dense residential buildings, industrial enterprises and a railway junction.

Based on the geographical location of the city, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine sets two tasks for the troops. Firstly, hold the Canal area for as long as possible, tying up Russian troops. Secondly, create defensive lines on the left bank, using water barriers and an industrial zone.

At the same time, such tactics have repeatedly failed the Ukrainian troops, a source in the Russian army located on the Artyomovsky sector of the front tells IA Regnum .

“Similarly, they tried to defend Bakhmut, which is also divided into two parts by the river. They retreated from Zabakhmutovka to the right bank, thinking of creating a defensive line. As we now know, it didn’t work out. But the fact that they don’t learn from mistakes is not our problem,” the source notes.

According to the interlocutor of IA Regnum, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is afraid of serious image losses associated with the surrender of the city. Therefore, in recent days, it has been transferring reinforcements from other sectors of the front, in particular from the Kupyansk region.

The arrival in the city of units using Swedish-made armored vehicles is recorded: Strv 122 tanks (a Swedish variation of the Leopard 2 tank) and CV90 infantry fighting vehicles. Along the way, defense units are being installed in the workshops of industrial enterprises, primarily the Chasovoyarsky Refractory Plant.

It is also reported about the transfer of units from the Zaporozhye and Avdeevka directions, in particular the forces of the 3rd mechanized brigade, created on the basis of “Azov” (a terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation)

STEP BY STEP
Local sources note that the Russian army needs to solve several problems in order to move on to crossing water barriers and storming the main part of Chasov Yar.

The first preparatory stage was the storming of the village of Ivanovskoye. It is located southeast of the city, where the dominant height in the region is located - Mount Baba. Occupying a height allows you to adjust artillery fire on targets both directly in the city and along the supply routes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

To proceed to the assault on the city, you also need to take control of the settlements adjacent to Chasovoy Yar, located on the left bank of the Seversky Canal - Bogdanovka and Kalinovka. According to unconfirmed reports from the field, Russian troops managed to advance in this direction.

As the left bank is cleared, Ukrainian army units stationed in the Kanal microdistrict will be forced to retreat to the right bank. After which the direct crossing of the water barrier can begin.

“What we cannot allow is for our communications to become the target of their artillery and drones. The main work is currently underway on this. Fire points are identified and suppressed. In general, we do not allow them to competently organize their defense,” explains the source of the Regnum news agency.

ACCESS TO OPERATIONAL SPACE
Despite the cheerful reports from the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that “all attacks have been repelled,” Kyiv is preparing to abandon Chasov Yar. This is evidenced, in particular, by the decision to force the evacuation of the population from the village of Konstantinovka, located nine kilometers from the city.

It is also reported that the evacuation of administrative buildings and institutions from the city of Druzhkovka, 15 kilometers northwest of Chasov Yar, has begun. In fact, both cities are turning from the deep rear to the operational one, with the prospect of being on the front line in the foreseeable future.

For the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the loss of Chasov Yar and the passage of Russian troops through the Seversky Canal will become a serious problem - the Russian Armed Forces will be able to gain operational space.

At the distance from the canal to the Druzhkovka - Konstantinovka line, de facto there is not a single large settlement left that could be turned into a powerful defense hub.

“There are no mega lines of defense or new frontiers here. It’s difficult to connect this with anything specific, but I think they are afraid to pull construction equipment so close to the front line,” says a source from IA Regnum.

At the same time, he believes, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will cling to “Chasik” (Chasov Yar) for as long as possible - like Bakhmut or Avdiivka.

UKRAINE HAS A PROBLEM WITH NEW YORK, DONETSK
Another problem that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will inevitably face with the loss of Chasov Yar is the threat of encirclement of units located in the Toretsk-Novgorodskoe (New York) area north of Gorlovka.
Oh. Not America’s New York. Got it.
In fact, this is the only section of the front that has remained unchanged since the beginning of the special military operation. However, the liberation of Chasov Yar will create a threat of encirclement of the Ukrainian group from the north and force it to retreat.

After this, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be pushed back from the Donetsk agglomeration to a distance that does not allow shelling of the central regions of the DPR and planning (even in theory) counter-offensives in the area. This means that Kyiv will have to accept that these regions are completely lost.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: April 8, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:14 French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during a telephone conversation emphasized the need to strengthen military support for Ukraine, the British Prime Minister's office reported. In particular, Macron and Sunak stated the need to “intensify efforts aimed at preventing Russia from winning its war of aggression against Ukraine.” The parties also discussed priorities for the coming months, in particular increasing the supply of ammunition, drones and air defense equipment for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

21:33 The Russians hit civilian infrastructure in the Poltava community, said the head of the OVA, Philip Pronin.

21:30 Ukraine will be able to join NATO only after the end of the current war, said US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.

21:27 Donald Trump's victory in the US elections is feared in Europe and Ukraine. He has repeatedly stated that he could quickly end the Russian-Ukrainian war. At the same time, those around the presidential candidate deny information that he allegedly has a plan to give some Ukrainian regions to Russia to end the war. Read more in the article What Trump thinks about Ukraine.

21:20 The White House accused Congress of inaction on the issue of assistance to Ukraine. “Over the past few weeks, several months, we have seen Ukraine losing ground on the battlefield. And this is due to the inaction of Congress,” said Karine Jean-Pierre, spokeswoman for the US presidential administration.

20:56 The mayor of Energodar, Dmitry Orlov, called the drone attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, for which Russia blames Ukraine, a “low-quality provocation”: “The design of the reactor can withstand even a plane crash, a direct hit. Therefore, the situation concerns some drones, which they probably themselves they launch it and try to make some kind of news out of it - this is an extremely low-quality provocation.” He emphasized that IAEA experts can only record those events that the Russian forces controlling the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant allow to be recorded.

Orlov also said that in February Russia banned access to the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP for workers who had not signed a contract with Rosatom. About 2,000 former employees remained to work at the station, which means they signed contracts.

20:15 Zelensky said in an interview with CNN that Ukraine will lose the war if the US Congress does not unblock the aid package: “If Congress does not help, Ukraine will lose the war. And we need to find a public format for this. If Ukraine loses this war, other countries will attacked."

20:11 The number of victims as a result of today's Russian strike on an apartment building in Selidovo, Donetsk region, has increased to five, including a 16-year-old teenager, the prosecutor's office reported.

20:02 The German government stated that Ukraine received military aid worth 28 billion euros, but data indicate a significantly smaller amount, writes Bild. In particular, about 2.6 billion euros out of 6 billion promised as military aid to Kyiv will go to other countries and to rearm the Bundeswehr. In addition, 3.4 billion euros could be returned to Germany from EU funds. Taking these data into account, it turns out that the actual promised military assistance to Kyiv is only 21.7 billion euros. This is 23% less than the authorities claim, the newspaper writes.

However, this amount may not be accurate either - Bundestag deputy from the CDU/CSU opposition bloc Ingo Goedehens claims that in reality, only 10.2 billion euros of military aid from Germany have been transferred to Kyiv so far.

19:51 Russia now produces 30 “shaheds” per day, and by the end of the year this figure could rise to 87, writes Die Welt. In addition, according to the publication, the country produces up to 130 missiles with a range of at least 350 km and about 100 shorter-range missiles every month. At the end of last year, the Russian Federation produced about 2 million shells of 152 mm and 122 mm caliber. The production of about 2.1 million artillery shells is planned for this year.

At the same time, the publication notes that about 90% of the tanks that were in Russia as of February 2022 were destroyed. Now the Russian Federation uses partially “museum” tanks, such as the T-62 and T-55. Analysts suggest that reserves will last for another two to three years.

19:18 The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence agreed on changes to the bill on mobilization, including, in particular, fines for violation of mobilization and military records. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture recognized circuses as “critically important” and granted the right to book workers. The final vote is expected to take place in the parliamentary session hall on April 11. Read more in the article Booking for the circus and crazy fines.

According to preliminary information, 14 buildings were damaged, including seven high-rise buildings, a health care facility and a cultural institution.

17:33 In the Donetsk region, as a result of today's Russian shelling, at least one person was killed and three were wounded, said the head of the OVA Vadim Filashkin. In particular, in the city of Chasov Yar one person was killed and six private houses were damaged. In Selidovo, three people were injured as a result of being hit in a nine-story building.

17:27 In the city of Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation, on the territory of the naval base on April 7, the Serpukhov missile ship was disabled as a result of a fire. As the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reported, its communications and automation equipment inside the missile ship was completely destroyed. Restoring the ship's combat capability will take a long time, intelligence claims. Serpukhov is a Russian vessel of project 21631 Buyan-M, which was launched in 2015.

17:18 Against the background of active shelling of Kharkov, a number of Western publications published articles about the difficult situation in the city. Journalists claim that the Kremlin wants to turn Kharkov into a “gray zone” and do not rule out a ground offensive. Read more in the article Why the enemy is destroying Kharkov.

17:12 The latest Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure have had many more consequences than the attacks last winter, Energy Minister German Galushchenko told The Guardian. According to him, up to 80% of thermal generation facilities, more than half of hydroelectric generation and a large number of substations were attacked. The minister noted that the latest strikes were the “biggest attack” on Ukrainian energy infrastructure since the start of the full-scale invasion.

16:36 Russia asked Kazakhstan to supply it with 100 thousand tons of gasoline in case of a shortage, which could worsen due to attacks by Ukrainian drones and interruptions in the operation of refineries, Reuters writes, citing sources. According to them, Kazakhstan has agreed on a corresponding agreement with the Russian Federation.

16:29 Denmark has allocated about 5.8 million euros for the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the country’s Foreign Ministry reported.

16:05 Bloomberg writes, citing sources, that Switzerland plans to hold a summit on Ukraine in mid-June, which will be attended by 80 to 100 countries, including those from the Global South. However, it is not yet clear whether China will agree to participate. For Switzerland, this is a “key issue” that “will be decisive to make the initiative credible,” the newspaper notes. Several countries insist that Russia take part in the meeting, but Ukraine is against it.

15:58 The Russians launched an airstrike on the civilian infrastructure of Sumy, the consequences are being clarified, the OVA reported.

15:34 Zelensky said that he held a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The main issue is the protection of Kharkov from Russian attacks and the ability to strengthen air defense and electronic warfare in the region. In particular, “there will be separate tasks for our diplomats to work with partners for the sake of new air defense systems for Ukraine,” the president added.

In addition, Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky presented information on the situation in the main combat directions. “We are holding our positions. The main thing now is efficient logistics,” Zelensky noted. Also, he said, intelligence and special services are “working on new steps to reduce Russia’s war potential.”

15:26 Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller called The Washington Post's information about the “peace plan” with the surrender of Ukrainian territories fake. At the same time, he emphasized that Trump is “the only one who talks about stopping the killing,” while Biden “talks about continuing the killing.”

15:12 The Russians hit an industrial facility in Zaporozhye, six casualties are known, said the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov.

14:57 NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joane said that the Alliance must play a more pronounced coordinating role in supporting Ukraine, while at the same time avoiding escalation: “We are saying a very simple thing. NATO must play a more pronounced coordinating role in supporting Ukraine, without becoming "at the same time, a party to the war. We are very attentive to the risk of escalation, we are very careful about this demarcation line between legitimate and necessary support for Ukraine and escalation of the conflict."

14:35 Ukrainian hackers, who may be associated with the SBU, destroyed a data center used by the Russian military-industrial complex, oil and gas and telecom, media report citing sources. We are talking about the OwenCloud cloud service, in which more than 10 thousand Russian legal entities stored their data. According to sources, this was a joint operation of the Ukrainian hacker group BlackJack with the cyber department of the SBU. They destroyed more than 300TB of data - that's 400 virtual and 42 physical servers.

13:56 Over the past three weeks, Russian planes have dropped 21 aerial bombs on the Belgorod region, the opposition Russian publication Astra has calculated. In particular, five more cases have been recorded since the beginning of April. All ammunition has already been destroyed, there are no casualties. The authorities prefer to hide these facts, and when this fails, they declare an “abnormal discharge of ammunition.”

13:18 Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Russians have completely destroyed more than 60 thousand hectares of forests in the occupied territories worth at least 14 billion hryvnia, according to an NGL investigation. Among the natural areas most affected in the Donetsk region is the Holy Mountains National Natural Park, located in the Kramatorsk and Bakhmut regions. Since the beginning of the invasion, fighting has been going on in this area, as a result of which 80% of the park was destroyed.

12:43 Chinese Foreign Ministry speaker Mao Ning once again stated that Beijing does not provide military support to Russia and exercises proper control over the export of military goods. “China’s position on the Ukrainian issue is always objective and fair. We are actively working to promote peace negotiations and a political settlement,” Mao added.

12:24 In the morning, the Russians fired artillery at Nikopol, Dnepropetrovsk region, two people were wounded, said the head of the OVA Sergei Lysak. A two-story residential building was completely destroyed, private houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged.

12:02 The Greek government can transfer up to 32 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, but this requires the approval of France, writes the local publication News Break. During their service, fighters of this type have undergone two design upgrades and are currently at an average of about 60% of their service life.

11:47 For the first time since the existence of the department, the Ministry of Defense has created a new coordinating advisory body for the Internal Audit Department - the Audit Committee. The committee includes certified internal auditors from NATO member states and Ukraine, the MoD said.

11:18 Zelensky plans to visit the Republic of South Africa in the next few months, writes the local publication Business Day, citing Naledi Pandor, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa. According to her, the Ukrainian president expressed his intention to visit South Africa to establish stronger trade ties between the countries and discuss the nature of relations after the end of the war.

10:44 At night, as a result of a Russian attack in the Dnieper region, equipment at one of the Ukrenergo substations and two high-voltage overhead lines were damaged, the company reported. There was no loss of power to consumers. In addition, on April 7, in one of the front-line areas in the east, as a result of artillery shelling, the Ukrenergo 330 kV high-voltage substation was de-energized. Hourly shutdown schedules are in effect in the Kharkov region, and consumption limits for industrial consumers in the Krivoy Rog region also continue to apply.

10:29 French and British foreign ministers Stephane Séjournet and David Cameron wrote a joint column in The Telegraph to mark the 120th anniversary of the signing of the agreement between the two countries, known as the Agreement of the Heart. In it, the heads of the Foreign Ministry write that “dark times” have come in the world, given Russia’s war against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and problems with climate change. Sejournet and Cameron in particular note that their countries are united by the understanding that Ukraine must win the war, and both nuclear states must take responsibility for this and do even more to defeat the Russian Federation.

09:53 Governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoyt said that tonight a drone dropped explosives on the territory of a former distillery near the village of Guevo, Sudzhansky district. A fire broke out in the premises of the inactive factory club, which was quickly extinguished; no people were injured.

09:20 Russia has changed its tactics of attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure, using precision missiles to destroy power plants in less protected areas than Kiev, writes the Financial Times. The publication notes that although the damage is not as widespread, it is worse than last winter, and now its goal is permanent, irreparable destruction. Some facilities will not be fully restored until next winter.

Thus, during the period from March 22 to 29 alone, Russia struck seven thermal power plants and two hydroelectric power plants - all of them were located in regions where there are not enough modern air defense systems. Large-scale blackouts were avoided thanks to warm weather, imports of electricity from the EU and increased electricity production from renewable sources.

08:59 In the Voznesensky district of the Nikolaev region, during a night attack, power lines were damaged by debris from a downed UAV. 14 settlements and one partially lost power. Work is underway to restore power supply, there are no casualties, said Vitaly Kim, head of the OVA.

08:54 In the Zhytomyr region, during a night attack, drones attacked a critical infrastructure facility. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties or injuries, the OVA reported. The Zvyagel City Council warned that as a result of the attack on the community's infrastructure, there is a threat of air pollution, so it is recommended to stay indoors with the windows closed.

08:35 During a night attack in the Odessa region, a drone hit a transport and logistics facility, the Southern Defense Forces reported. In addition, a gas station was damaged by falling debris from a downed drone, but no people were injured.

08:16 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of April 8:

Drones were destroyed in Odessa, Nikolaev, Kirovograd, Khmelnytsky and Zhytomyr regions. In addition, the X-59 guided aircraft missile, which the enemy launched from the airspace of the occupied Zaporozhye region, was destroyed, the Air Force command reported.

07:24 Over the past 24 hours, 76 military clashes took place at the front, the General Staff reported in its morning report. violations, putting pressure for a peaceful resolution.

A member of the Sinja Resistance® Committees informed Sudan Tribune that the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) and the General Intelligence Service (GIS) arrested prominent Communist Party member Seif al-Dawla Jadid and Sinja emergency room volunteer Mohammed al-Hadi, known as "Hatab."

Significantly, both Jadid and Hatab were released only a month ago after spending over three months in detention. Their rearrests highlight the ongoing crackdown.

The source further reported that the security forces also detained Mohammed al-Wathiq Mohammed Abdallah, an employee at Sinnar University’s Faculty of Education, along with the brother of journalist Ali al-Arsh (apparently mistaking him), and the father and brother of two other activists.

This follows a wider arrest campaign by Military Intelligence across Sennar State in recent weeks, targeting members of political parties, resistance committees, and even humanitarian aid workers in cities like Dinder, Abu Hajjar, and Sinja.

The source revealed that security forces raided over 25 homes during the latest operation, with fears of an intensification in the coming hours due to the heavy deployment of security personnel. This extensive deployment has also hampered efforts to monitor detainees’ whereabouts.

History of the Wunderwaffe. Why the long-awaited F-16s won’t help Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Denis Davydov

[REGNUM] By summer, European partners promise to supply Ukraine with the first batch of F-16 fighters, for which Ukrainian pilots are already being trained in Romania, Denmark and the United States. In December, the Netherlands announced the decision to give away the first 18 aircraft, and subsequently increased this number to 24. Together with other promises, the expectation of miracle aircraft constitutes the last point of support in hopes for a “wunderwaffe” capable of providing the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a turning point in the war.

[REGNUM] When, on the evening of April 5, military equipment began to arrive at the Mexican Embassy in Quito, observers, of course, thought that something at least interesting was being prepared. But it was somehow inconvenient to assume that President Daniel Noboa would risk ordering an assault on a foreign mission. After all, 2024 is just around the corner. Although, if you look at things more objectively, by 2024, everyday naivety will have long been out of trend, as will international law.

Australian government uses AI to censor public submissions to parliamentary inquiry: a grieving mother who lost her daughter to Pfizer mRNA jab 2 had her entire submission to the Covid Response Inquiry blacked out
A taste:
[LettersFromAustralia] This is the AI censorship that the government is now using on you

Public submissions to the Commonwealth Government COVID-19 Response Inquiry have been bizarrely censored by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Raelene Kennedy, mother of Caitlin Gotze, 23, who died shortly after her second Pfizer shot, had her two-page submission 1784 entirely blacked out here, archived here.

Raelene Kennedy bravely spoke out many times in interview including here
All that appears of her story are two black slabs.

When Raelene saw the complete redaction without even her name on it, she despaired.

“The truth is never going to come out,” she said on Saturday.

Raelene wrote to the Covid-19 Response Inquiry asking how she could make a submission without censorship as the next of kin.

She got a form-letter response.

“Submissions may have been redacted in accordance with the Privacy Notice,” the email said.

“Submissions may have been redacted where they contain material with the personal or business information of third parties if the department does not have their consent to publish the information.”

They will never have Caitlin’s consent because she is dead. Caitlin - a healthy, vibrant, beautiful, young woman - died less than two months after her second Pfizer mRNA injection.

The terrible story of Caitlin’s death has been told publicly by Raelene on Jab Injuries Australia’s Instagram here, on Cafe Locked Out here and to the Joint Parliamentary Covid Inquiry in 2021 here, backup here.

It’s not a secret to be guarded by the government with censorship.

Raelene wants answers and has joined Dr Melissa McCann’s class action to help the vaccine bereaved and injured, as detailed by Rebakah Barnett here.

IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE NOW CENSORING DEMOCRACY?
Letters From Australia also wrote a four-page submission, 1116, archived here, which has been oddly redacted, as if by an AI that searches for capital letters but can’t tell the difference between names that need privacy and those that don’t.

however this is a big threat to free speech because of the context it is in - in the USA you are going to be censored piecemeal as the countries around you are passing censorship laws and will be using the AI to do it.

This is the first faltering example.

See how the AI cannot understand the difference between "Bradford Hill criteria of causation" and an imaginary person called "Bradford Hill" who might need their name redacted for privacy

and the AI can't understand that "Pfizer" isn't a proper name not to be redacted

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Man arrested for setting Sen. Bernie Sanders’s office in Vermont on fire
[IsraelTimes] Police apprehended 35-year-old suspect who sprayed liquid on floor of lawmaker’s office before setting it ablaze; building interior damaged, but no casualties reported

A man was charged on Sunday with setting a fire outside the Vermont office of US Sen. Bernie Sanders
...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
, federal prosecutors said.

Shant Soghomonian, 35, who was previously of Northridge, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, entered the building on Friday and went to Sanders’ third-floor office where security video showed him spraying a liquid on the door and setting it afire, officials said.

The building’s interior suffered some damage from the fire and sprinklers that doused the area with water, but no one was hurt. Sanders, an independent, was not in the office at the time.

Soghomonian was arrested Sunday on a charge of using fire to damage a building used in interstate commerce, according to a statement from Nikolas Kerest, the US attorney for Vermont.

The motive remained unclear. Soghomonian was detained Sunday and could not be reached for comment. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer, and an initial court appearance had not been set, officials said.

The crime carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The case was investigated by police departments in Burlington, Shelburne and Williston; Vermont State Police; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and US Capitol Police, officials said.
Police said they believe Shant Michael Soghomonian, 33, was hanging around Sanders’ Burlington office the day before the fire and said he had been a "long-term guest" at a Chittenden County hotel.

Inn at Burlington staff, who recognized Soghomonian from an image released by police, told authorities that the man had stayed at the hotel for "several weeks" or "close to two months."

Police matched Soghomian to security camera images from the Inn at Burlington, wearing what appeared to be a similar orange winter hat in which he was seen around the time of the arson.

In an affidavit, Eric Brimo, a special agent with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, wrote that Shelburne Police located Soghomonian’s Subaru Impreza, with New York plates, at the Quality Inn in Shelburne early Sunday morning.

Hotel staff informed police which room Soghomonian was staying in and that he was due for checkout later that morning, according to the affidavit.

After knocking on his door and requesting entrance, "officers then heard what sounded like the individual dragging heavy items near the door," Brimo wrote.

Fearing a barricade, officers requested a key to the door but found their entrance blocked, according to the affidavit. Upon forcing entry, police took Soghomonian into custody.

No court date appears to have been set for Soghomonian. He’s currently held at Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans, according to Vermont’s inmate locator.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Oct. 7 Massacre: Six Months Later
[PJMedia] Six months ago today, on October 7, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel to inflict horrific atrocities on civilians of all ages, committing the worst single day of massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Yet six months later, much of the world is sympathizing with the guilty and attacking the victims in the Hamas-Israel conflict!

Six months ago, babies were burned alive and/or beheaded, whole families were gunned down, women were raped to death, and civilians of all ages were kidnapped. Gazans celebrated the mass murder, and the Palestinian Authority rewarded the jihadis with cash. How much clearer does it need to be? Yet leftists have gone wild with anti-Semitic hatred and jihad-empathizing vitriol. Even a disturbing number of conservatives are repeating Hamas propaganda and falsely accusing Israel. It is a sad reflection on how divorced many Westerners, including Americans, are from reality — and how perilously close we are to another Holocaust.

Growing up, we all talked about the Nazis as if it were inconceivable that anyone could ever have condoned or ignored the Holocaust. Yet Westerners are doing just that now -- ignoring the very real attempted genocide against Israelis while preposterously accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza, based on Hamas talking points and Hamas-issued casualty numbers.

The Arabs now calling themselves Palestinians have never had a right to Israeli land, and they have spent decades rejecting offers of land concessions and their own nation from Israel. Even now, the majority of Palestinians still support terrorist Hamas and its horrific attacks on Israel on Oct. 7. Yet both Muslims and non-Muslims around the world refuse to admit the reality of the situation.

Do you think it could not happen here in America? Students are marching on every major campus in support of jihad against Israel, and the hatred against Jewish people is so violent that some Jewish students fear for their physical safety. Anti-Semitic incidents tripled in America between October and January. The majority of Democrat politicians have been undermining Israel in favor of Gaza. Joe Biden is going Nazi and not only sending huge amounts of aid to Gaza, but also planning to label products from Judea and Samaria -- land the Palestinians falsely claim as theirs and call the "West Bank." This will facilitate boycotting of the Israeli products.
Hopefully it will not come to nuclear Masada - but, you never know: Zionists ARE crazy!

Contractor killed when she walks into Air Force drone propeller while looking down at device

[NYPOST] A US Air Force civilian contractor was killed when she walked into a drone’s rotating propeller at a Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, airfield — after losing "situational awareness" while glued to a data-recording device, officials say.

Stephanie Cosme, 32, was fatally injured when she "inadvertently" stumbled into the moving propeller of a parked MQ-9A Reaper drone at Gray Butte Airfield on Sept. 7, according to a new statement from Air Force Materiel Command summing up the findings of a report on the accident.

"Without looking up to determine her position relative to the aircraft, [Cosme] proceeded to walk directly into the propeller of the [aircraft] sustaining fatal injuries," stated the final investigation report released Friday.
Won't do that again
In his statement of opinion, Accident Investigation Board President Brig. Gen. Lance French identified two causes for the accident.

First, Cosme was incorrectly instructed or trained on how to take data readings when approaching a drone while its engine is running.

Second, "she lost situational awareness" while walking around the unmanned aircraft taking readings with a hand-held measurement device, the report stated.

Sudanese army advances in Al-Jazirah, RSF vows response

ese Air Force launched raids on paramilitary force positions in three areas: south, west, and east of the central Sudan state.

An army source reported progress on the eastern front bordering Gedaref State. On Sunday, their forces captured the town of al-Qalaa al-Bayda in Um al-Qura locality, about 30 kilometres east of the state capital Wad Madani.

Last Thursday, army forces advanced from al-Khayari, separating the Gedaref and al-Jazirah states, and taking control of Um Faksha and Hafira areas deep within the state.

The source indicated violent mostly peaceful festivities near Shabarqa, about 30 kilometres from Wad Madani.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the RSF broadcast video clips of alleged confrontations near al-Faw in Gedaref State, claiming heavy losses inflicted on the army and allied forces. They also released pictures of prisoners, casualties, and a captured tank from the army troops.

RSF commander in al-Jazirah State, Major General Abu Aqla Kikal, denied any army progress and vowed to capture a new area before Eid al-Fitr, within two days.

For their part, the Wad Madani Resistance® Committees reported that Sunday’s festivities resulted in the deaths of two civilians in Sharif Yaqoub village due to flying shrapnel. They urged the area residents to stay away from conflict zones and avoid going outside their homes to watch the fighting.

The RSF paramilitary forces seized control of large parts of al-Jazirah State last December, extending to the outskirts of Sinnar State in the south. However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
they failed to control al-Manaqil and al-Qurashi localities in the west.

Also, military sources affiliated with the Sudanese army reported air strikes launched early Sunday morning against RSF positions in al-Jazirah State.

The air attacks targeted RSF forces in several areas in southern al-Jazirah. Also, the Sudanese air force targeted Arab city, west of Wad Madani, and al-Shabarqa, east of the the state capital.

The army appears to be besieging RSF in al-Jazira from three axes: east (Gedaref), south (Sennar), and west (Al-Manaqil).

Regarding the western axis of al-Manaqil, the same military sources confirmed the army’s capture of Medina Arab town, about 15 kilometres west of Wad Madani, after the RSF withdrew from the area following limited festivities.

The fighting is expected to intensify in the coming days.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran general killed in Syria was on Hezbollah's top council
[NAHARNET] An Iranian general killed in a strike in Syria's capital was a member of Hezbollah's Shoura Council, the powerful Lebanese group's decision-making body, a source close to the movement said.

The April 1 air strike leveled the Iranian embassy's consular annex in Damascus, killing seven Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) members, including two generals.

One of them was Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in the Quds Force, the Guards' foreign operations arm.

Zahedi was the only non-Lebanese on Hezbollah's eight-member Shoura Council, the equivalent of the powerful Shiite Moslem movement's political bureau, led by secretary general Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
, the source said, requesting anonymity because the matter is sensitive.

In a speech Monday, Nasrallah paid homage to Zahedi and his colleagues killed in the strike, which Tehran and Damascus have blamed on Israel.

In a previous speech, Nasrallah said his group "owed a lot" to the senior Iranian official.

Zahedi "lived with us for long years, away from the spotlight, and provided important services to the resistance in Leb

and the whole region," Nasrallah said Friday during a televised address.

Zahedi, 63, had held a succession of commands in a Guards career spanning more than 40 years, and was the most important Iranian military official killed since a United States missile strike at Baghdad airport in 2020 killed General Qasem Soleimani, who headed the Quds Force.

Tehran has promised to respond to the strike, which killed 16 people including two civilians, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a monitor of Syria's years-long civil war.

In the Rostov region, portraits of Nazis were confiscated from the Don Cossacks museum
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Portraits of Nazi criminals were confiscated from a museum dedicated to the Don Cossacks in the village of Elanskaya, Rostov region. Representatives of operational services reported this on April 8.
Erasing undesired persons from history was a Soviet tradition…
Law enforcement officers conducted searches in the memorial complex, where the monument to the Cossack ataman-collaborator and accomplice of Nazi Germany Pyotr Krasnov is located.

“Portraits of Nazi criminals have been seized,” a representative of the operational services told TASS.

As Regnum reported, the museum and memorial complex in the village of Elanskaya was opened in 2006. At the entrance to the museum, a monument was erected to the Don Ataman Pyotr Krasnov, who led the Cossack SS division during the Great Patriotic War. Since the museum is located on private territory owned by businessman Vladimir Melikhov, the monument can only be dismantled with the consent of the owner. Many years of attempts by social activists to achieve the demolition of the monument did not yield results.

According to Doctor of Historical Sciences, member of the Russian Military Historical Society Anatoly Agafonov, the complex and ambiguous figure of Krasnov is one of the headaches of the Rostov region. The Supreme Court of the USSR recognized Krasnov as a war criminal and sentenced him to death. This is exactly how the ataman should be perceived, because his activities were directed against the Soviet Union and against the Soviet people.

Now up to 100...
[Regnum] More than 90 people have died after a fishing boat sank off the coast of Mozambique.agency reported this on April 7.

As Nampula Provincial Secretary of State Jamie Neto said, the homemade boat was not intended to transport people. Neto said that there were about 130 people on the ship, and it was heading to a small island off the coast of Mozambique.

Rescuers found five survivors; the search and rescue operation continues, but it is complicated by weather conditions. The Nampula provincial secretary of state noted that many children were among the dead. The exact number of victims is being established, and an investigation team is working at the scene. The circumstances of the shipwreck are being determined.

According to Neto, people tried to leave the country, panicked by misinformation about the cholera epidemic. Mozambique has recorded almost 15,000 cases of the disease and 32 deaths since October 2023.
According to Neto, people tried to leave the country, panicked by misinformation about the cholera epidemic. Mozambique has recorded almost 15,000 cases of the disease and 32 deaths since October 2023.

Nampula is the worst-affected region, accounting for a third of all detected cases.

Earlier, IA Regnum reported that as a result of the collapse of a bridge in Baltimore in the eastern United States, according to preliminary information, at least six people working on the structure at that time were killed.

The Economist: The Russian Armed Forces destroyed several Patriot air defense systems transferred to Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Russian armed forces destroyed several American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs) supplied to Ukraine by the United States of America. The British magazine The Economist reported this on April 7,citing sources.
War is hard on equipment as well as children and other living things, ‘tis said. That’s why armies have dedicated units dedicated to this thing called logistics.
“Russia destroyed some of the Western-supplied Patriot air defense systems that Ukraine used to defend cities such as Kharkov,” the material says.

However, it is not specified what exact number of air defense systems were destroyed.

A high-ranking official responsible for the functioning of Kharkov, which is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a conversation with The Economist, accused Western allies of insufficient assistance. According to him, if the West provided Ukraine with more powerful air defense systems or F-16 fighters, Kyiv could reduce the damage that the Russian Armed Forces inflict on Ukrainian military infrastructure.

As Regnum reported, on April 7, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, said that guided bombs used by the Russian military regularly destroy the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and cause enormous damage to military infrastructure. According to Kuleba, the only way to counter such attacks is to shoot down bombers carrying these ammunition. Earlier, the head of Vladimir Zelensky’s office, Andriy Ermak, called the critical moment that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing due to a shortage of weapons and delays in Western supplies. He also pointed to the inability of Ukrainian troops to shoot down Russian guided glide bombs and demanded more missiles for American Patriot air defense systems.

The Russian side has repeatedly warned Western countries to refrain from supplying weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that any military cargo intended for Ukrainian troops is a legitimate target of the Russian Armed Forces. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, in turn, noted that arms supplies will not change the course of the special military operation in any way, but will only deplete the resources of the countries participating in supporting Ukraine.

Government Corruption
Appeals Court Vacates 'Disinformation' Monitoring Of Jan. 6 Defendant's Computer
[ZeroHedge] A sentencing requirement that Jan. 6 defendant Daniel Goodwyn have his computer monitored by the government for "disinformation" has been vacated by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
That’s better than a kick in the pants, I suppose.
The court on March 26 published a mandate sending the case back to U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton to remove the computer monitoring requirement he issued as part of the sentencing judgment in the case on June 15, 2023.

"Judge Walton had no legal basis to issue the special condition," Carolyn Stewart, Mr. Goodwyn’s attorney, told The Epoch Times in an April 3 email.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the judge "plainly erred" in imposing the computer monitoring. Judges Gregory Katsas, Naomi Rao, and Bradley Garcia issued a per curiam order vacating the monitoring provision.

Judge Walton, when imposing a 60-day jail sentence in June 2023, said Mr. Goodwyn spread "disinformation" during a broadcast of "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on March 14, 2023. Judge Walton ordered that Mr. Goodwyn’s computer be subject to "monitoring and inspection" by a probation agent to check if he spread Jan. 6 disinformation during the term of his supervised release.

The judge also referred to Mr. Goodwyn spreading alleged "misinformation," using the term interchangeably with "disinformation."

Mr. Goodwyn, 35, of Corinth, Texas, pleaded guilty on Jan. 31, 2023, to one misdemeanor count of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority. The charge could have meant up to a year in prison.

60 DAYS BEHIND BARS
On June 6, 2023, Judge Walton sentenced Mr. Goodwyn to 60 days in prison, a year of supervised release, a $2,500 fine, and a $500 restitution payment.

Letitia James' nitpicking over Trump bond is more spiteful nonsense
[NYPOST] Does state Attorney General Letitia James believe her only job is attacking Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...

Now she’s going after the ex-prez for posting the bond on the $454 million civil-fraud judgment she won against him in February, a step he must take in order to appeal.

Last week, Trump posted the $175 million bond, provided by Knight Specialty Insurance Co., to temporarily prevent James from snatching up Trump Tower and other assets (an outcome she’s been raring for since the judgment was passed down) while he continued to fight the ruling in an appeals court.

Not good enough for Tish: On Thursday, the AG’s office filed paperwork demanding that Trump or the insurer prove within 10 days that they can make good on the bond, claiming the state took "exception to the sufficiency of the surety" provided by Trump.

This does nothing except gum up the appeals process, and make Trump jump through more legal hoops — all for a civil case with no victims.

Biden, Harris hit swing states to tout $146B in student loan bailouts
[NYPost] President Biden and Vice President Kámala Harris

were visiting Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, respectively, Monday to tout multibillion-dollar giveaways to tens of millions who took out loans to pay for college — earning blowback from congressional Republicans who say the scheme could cost US taxpayers more than half a trillion dollars.

The White House announced a new student loan plan that would cancel debt for 4 million borrowers, provide $5,000 in debt relief to more than 10 million and cut any accrued interest for another 23 million borrowers.

"Thanks to our unapologetic commitment to provide relief to as many borrowers as possible as quickly as possible, our regulatory efforts would help tens of millions more borrowers find financial breathing room — and help fix our country’s broken higher education system," Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said in a statement.

The Department of Education has helped cancel $146 billion in student debt for 4 million people through executive actions, the White House added.

[AFRICANEWS] In a video unveiled by leading Zim-bob-wean newspaper The Sunday Mail, president Emmerson Mnangagwa dismissed allegations he would run for an unconstitutional third term.

Much attention has been drawn to a slogan heard at Zanu PF rallies in recent months ’2030 vaMnangagwa vanenge vachipo’ (loosely translated as ’2030 Mnangagwa will still be president’).

The party secured a supermajority in Parliament last February in disputed by-elections.

Jewish alumni rip Columbia University over antisemitic incidents, tell administration to 'do their job'
[NYPOST] Jewish graduates of Columbia University tore into their alma mater for allegedly failing to rein in antisemitism on campus — telling administrators they need to "do their job."

"Who could have ever imagined that Columbia University would be the site for rallies calling for Intifada, for swastikas scrawled on campus property and for Jewish students to be intimidated and followed as they walk home from class," said Matt Schweber, a member of the newly formed Columbia University Jewish Alumni Association.

"Our message today: enough is enough," Schweber said in a statement provided to The Post. "It must be stopped. The administration must do their job."

The alumni association also provided The Post with a link to video of what it called an unauthorized rally on campus last week, with hundreds of anti-Israel protesters chanting "intifada, intifada!" and "From the River to the Sea, Paleostine Will be Free!" Critics say the phrase calls for wiping the Jewish State of Israel off the map.

Others held BDS signs — the initials for the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against the Jewish State.

Army says LF official killed during attempt to steal his car, body taken to Syria
[NAHARNET] The Lebanese Forces
A Christian political party founded by Bashir Gemayel, who was then bumped off when he was elected president of Leb...
’ coordinator in Jbeil, Pascal Sleiman, was killed during the attempt to steal his car Sunday in the Jbeil district, the Lebanese Army announced on Monday, after the man’s reported abduction raised tensions in the country and prompted protesters to block the vital Jbeil highway.

"The army’s Intelligence Directorate has managed to arrest most of the Syrian members of the gang that carried out the abduction operation," the army said in a statement.

"During their interrogation, it turned out that the abductee was killed by them during their attempt to steal his car in the Jbeil region and that they transferred his body to Syria," the army added.

"The Army Command is coordinating with Syrian authorities over the body’s handover and the investigations are continuing under the supervision of the public prosecution," the army said.

In earlier statements, the army had announced the arrest of five Syrian suspects.

All busiesses were closed in the city of Jbeil on Monday in protest at Sleiman's abduction.

Sleiman’s phone was reportedly found in the town of Thoum in Batroun after he was kidnapped and his car stolen while his kidnappers' car was found Monday in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
by army intelligence agents.

Political and religious leaders in lebanon condemned the incident, while Grand Jaafarite Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan warned against "political exploitation" and "sectarian mobilization."

Pro-Hezbollah al-Akhbar newspaper had reported Monday, based on information it received from sources in the Lebanese Forces, that the party "is keen on civil peace" and is against throwing accusations against any party before the army's investigation ends.

The daily said a car with a foreign license plate and with four gunnies inside it had intercepted Suleiman’s car as he returned from a funeral in the town of al-Kharbeh, between the town of Lehfed and the Mayfouq-Haqel road.

"An audio recording was circulated of Suleiman talking to someone when the button men intercepted his car," al-Akhbar said. Suleiman is heard asking them not to kill him before the call was cut off, the reports said.

The U.S. Has No Choice but to Undertake Radical Economic Change
[Townhall] Burdened with $34.5 trillion in national debt that is currently growing by $1 trillion every 100 days, the U.S. economy is headed for disaster. It falls on the next administration to change that trajectory while also introducing policies that increase and broaden economic growth and wealth creation for everyone. Changing course is not easy, but people are waking up rapidly to the shocking reality that we are on an unsustainable course. Those who recognize that financial collapse is at our door can’t unsee it and they will embrace fundamental change from unconventional leadership.

Correcting courses requires both the acceleration of private-sector economic growth and a reduction in the public sector.

What holds back the U.S. economy from achieving average GDP growth rates above 3%, which were common in every decade after World War II up until the turn of the 21st century, is the growth of government spending and government debt.

The widely acclaimed 2009 analysis by Harvard economics professors Carmen Reinhart and Ken Rogoff—which concluded that national debt levels above 90% of GDP significantly reduce a country’s economic growth rate—explains in part why U.S. economic growth has become more anemic than previously.

The deficit spending of the Obama administration, which broke through that 90% debt-to-GDP ratio in 2010 with 3 years of trillion-dollar deficits, marked the steepening trajectory of our path to insolvency. The U.S. debt-to-GDP ratio now exceeds 122%. Our current $34.5 trillion national debt has grown eightfold in the sixteen years since George W. Bush passed the presidential mantle to Barack Obama.

What is increasingly troubling is the extent to which the U.S. government is borrowing new money to service old debt. And that borrowing is adding over $11 billion to the national debt every day. And that additional $11 billion to the national debt daily is financed with additional borrowing. And so on… until the compounding of national debt ends in financial collapse. Having the world’s reserve currency notwithstanding, the United States cannot escape this fate unless it dramatically changes course.

WFP food assistance reaches Darfur after several months
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
World Food Programme (WFP) has managed to bring desperately needed food and nutrition supplies into Darfur, the first WFP-provided assistance to reach the war-wracked region in months.
Sounds like the good old days, back in the army. If you had twenty vehicles or whatever, and fifteen of them weren't usable because of missing parts or whatever, you were still considered good to go if the parts were on order.
The agency said unless the people of Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
receive a constant flow of aid via all possible humanitarian corridors from neighbouring nations and across battle lines, the hunger catastrophe will only worsen.

According WFP, two humanitarian convoys crossed the border from Chad into Darfur in late March, carrying food and nutrition assistance for around 250,000 people facing acute hunger in North, West and Central Darfur.

These are the first cross-border convoys of WFP assistance to reach Darfur following lengthy negotiations to reopen these routes after authorities in Port Sudan revoked permissions for humanitarian corridors from Chad in February

The temporary halt of the humanitarian corridor from Chad as well as ongoing fighting, lengthy clearance processes for humanitarian cargo, bureaucratic impediments, and security threats have made it impossible for humanitarians to operate at the scale needed to meet the hunger needs in Sudan, WFP noted.

"We need aid to be consistently reaching war-ravaged communities through every possible route. Hunger in Sudan will only increase as the lean season starts in just a few weeks. I fear that we will see unprecedented levels of starvation and malnutrition sweep across Sudan this lean season," said WFP Representative and Country Director in Sudan, Eddie Rowe.

Last week, 37 trucks carrying 1,300 metric tons of supplies crossed into West Darfur from Adre in Chad and food distributions are underway in West and Central Darfur. The UN food agency, however, said it has no clarity as to when the next aid convoy can travel via this route, which is vital if the humanitarian community stands a chance of preventing widespread starvation in West Darfur.

Last year, WFP supported 1 million people in West and Central Darfur with food transported via Chad’s Adre crossing.

Another 16 trucks with around 580 metric tons of supplies reportedly entered North Darfur from Chad’s Tina border crossing on 23rd March, while six trucks with 260 metric tons of food reached the area from Port Sudan a few days later.

This was the first aid delivery to be transported across conflict lines in six months.

Yet, fierce fighting, lack of security, and lengthy clearances by the warring parties, have led to delays in the distribution of this assistance to people in need.

"WFP and our partners urgently need security guarantees so supplies in North Darfur can be distributed to people who are struggling to find even one basic meal a day. Cross-border operations from Chad to Darfur are critical to reach communities where children are already dying of malnutrition. All corridors to transport food must remain open, particularly the one from Adre in Chad to West Darfur where levels of hunger are alarming," said Rowe.

Last month, WFP’s Executive Director Cindy McCain warned that the war in Sudan risks triggering the world’s worst hunger crisis unless families in Sudan and those who have fled to South Sudan and Chad receive desperately needed food aid.

This, she stressed, requires unfettered access, faster clearance processes, and funds to deliver a humanitarian response that meets the huge needs of civilians impacted by Sudan’s devastating war.

Sudan’s war is driving hunger to record levels, with 18 million people across the country facing acute hunger. In Darfur, 1.7 million people are in emergency levels of hunger.

More than once I helped salvage parts from working vehicles to repair parade vehicles.

19:20 Paratroopers stormed a Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold on the outskirts of Chasov Yar -video.

18:38 Artemovsk direction

First confirmation from the enemy side about the complete control of our army over the settlement Bogdanovka.

At these moments our attack aircraft are conducting an assault on the village. Kalinovka, located west of Bogdanovka. At the moment, it is known that our fighters managed to reach the center of the village. The enemy is retreating beyond the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal.

17:24 Telegram channel “Fisherman":

Avdeevsky direction: advance of the RF Armed Forces on a broad front.

To the west of Avdievka, Russian troops are conducting offensive operations in several sectors from Berdychi to Pervomaisky.

In the Berdychi area, the enemy is exerting flank pressure from Novobakhmutovka, counterattacking with infantry groups supported by armored vehicles. However, at the moment the village is almost completely under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. Between Berdychi and Orlovka it was also possible to reduce the “pocket” that arose after the first days of the breakthrough to populated areas.

From Orlovka, Russian units managed to enter the southern outskirts of Semenovka: according to preliminary information, they took control of at least half of the village. At the same time, the enemy retains the possibility of supplying his forces through landings along the O0542 highway and the gully to the north.

To the west of Tonenkoye, the Russian Armed Forces were also able to advance in the direction of Umansky, although they have not yet been able to reach the outskirts of the settlement. However, without the occupation of Semenovka and an attack from Orlovka through the vicinity of the S051801 highway, we can hardly expect the start of battles for Umanskoye.

Russian troops are also advancing in the Pervomaisky area. Judging by footage of objective enemy control, the Russian Armed Forces launched an attack north of Staroavdeevsky Pond on the Vodyanaya River and are fighting for positions north of Utyatnik Pond, which are located less than a kilometer from the eastern outskirts of Netailovo.

16:05 Special military operation. Situation on April 8 –map.

14:15 Telegram channel “Fisherman":

Battle of Chasov Yar: liberation of Bogdanovka.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops continue to expand the zone of control towards Chasov Yar. According to preliminary data, units of the Russian Armed Forces occupied the southwestern outskirts of Bogdanovka.

To the north of the settlement, Russian military personnel advanced at least to the farm, and from the south they reached the Orlova tract. The enemy retreated from Bogdanovka towards Kalinovka, on the eastern outskirts of which, according to some information, fighting broke out in the area of Lesnaya Street.

At the same time, Ukrainian formations are building a new line of defense along the coastline of the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal, where a mine-explosive barrier strip was previously installed.

On the eastern outskirts of Chasov Yar, clashes are taking place in the area of Gorbatov Street in the Kanal microdistrict. In recent days, servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces have been fighting near school No. 77, but so far there is no footage to confirm the control of the Russian Armed Forces over the building.

The Ukrainian command intends to hold the defense in the remaining part of the Kanal microdistrict for as long as possible until the defense line at the Seversky Donets-Donbass water barrier, to the west of which most of the city is located, is finally ready.

The positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Chasov Yar are constantly being attacked by artillery strikes, and aviation is “working out” multi-storey buildings where the enemy has equipped observation points and positions of ATGM operators. There are also reports of hits on enemy temporary deployment points within the city.

To the west of Krasnoe, Russian paratroopers are fighting on the outskirts of Seversky Donets - Donbass. At the same time, assault troops are trying to occupy dominant heights in the area of ??the Stupki-Golubovskie-2 nature reserve.

Despite the successes of recent days, heavy fighting is still ahead. At the moment, the goal of the Russian Armed Forces is to cross the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal, along which a new line of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being built.

If successful, the position of the Ukrainian formations will become significantly more complicated and the enemy command will face the question: is it worth making another media “fortune” out of the Hours of Yar, or is it better to preserve the already bloodless units, taking them to new frontiers.

13:35 Statement by the head of the press center of the Dnepr group -video.

In the Kherson direction, units of the Dnepr group of troops (forces) continued assault operations in the area of the settlements of Rabotino and Verbovoye, defended the left bank of the Dnieper River, launched fire strikes on enemy objects, equipment and artillery on the right bank, and fought against enemy UAVs.

In just one day, the enemy’s losses amounted to over 25 military personnel; as a result of counterbattery fighting, the positions of 11 guns and mortars were hit, two air defense systems, one radar, three units of automotive equipment were destroyed, and 87 reconnaissance and attack UAVs were shot down.

12:22 Statement by the head of the press center of the “West” group -video.

Units of the West group of forces continue to carry out combat missions in the Kupyansk direction.

Motorized rifle units, in cooperation with the group’s aviation and artillery, repelled two counterattacks by assault groups of the 95th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the village of Terny.

During the counter-battery fight, artillery units destroyed: two 122mm 2S1 self-propelled artillery units “Gvozdika” and 152mm 2S3 “Akatsiya”, and a 152mm towed howitzer D-20.

Operators of the Lancet loitering munition destroyed a T-64 tank in the Kucherovka area.

The group's air defense and electronic warfare systems destroyed three unmanned aerial vehicles, including two Valkyries and a Fury.

In addition, enemy losses in the Kupyansk direction amounted to up to 30 military personnel, two installations of the Uragan and Grad multiple launch rocket systems, seven mortar crews, a counterbattery radar station, an electronic warfare station and two vehicles.

11:29 Russian Guards discovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition in the DPR.

The cache left by the Ukrainian Armed Forces unit during the retreat was found based on information from a local resident.

It contained anti-tank guided missiles, a Shmel flamethrower, PG-7 rounds, grenades with fuses, machine guns and a machine gun with cartridges, as well as a silent foreign-made mortar mine.

10:50 In Odessa, a logistics and transport facility was damaged as a result of night strikes. The speaker of the Ukrainian volunteer army “South” Sergei Bratchuk admitted this. In addition, gas stations were damaged.

09:50 Telegram channel «Fisherman":

In turn, the Russian Armed Forces attacked the warehouses of a cement plant and an oil and gas terminal in Odessa. In Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk and other regions of the so-called. In Ukraine, energy facilities have been affected, and therefore there are problems with energy supply.

In the Bakhmut direction in Chasovoy Yar, Russian troops approached school No. 77 in the Kanal microdistrict. Most of the high-rise buildings remain under enemy control. There are also battles in the suburbs of Toretsk.

In the Donetsk direction in Pervomaisky, Ukrainian formations retreated from Lenin Street towards the E50 highway. The enemy is still holding positions in the Domakh gully north of Nevelskoye.

In the Avdeevsky direction there are fierce battles in Berdychi, where it is not possible to dislodge the Ukrainian Armed Forces from positions on the western outskirts of the village. In Semyonovka, fighting continues in the central part of the village.

In the Ugledar direction, the assault on Novomikhailovka continues; the offensive actions of Russian troops are hampered by the active use of unmanned attack weapons by the Ukrainian side.

08:17 Russian paratroopers from the assault battalion named after the Hero of Russia, Major Viktor Omelkov, Ivanovo Airborne Forces unit from the South group of troops took a Ukrainian stronghold on the outskirts of Chasov Yar in the DPR, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

08:14 Artillerymen of the “North-V” brigade operating as part of the group of troops “South” of the volunteer corps, ensuring the advancement of Russian assault groups, strike the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the vicinity of Bogdanovka in the DPR –video.

08:09 Russian 122mm BM-21 “Grad” destroyed along with ammunition, the Ukrainian MLRS “Vampire”, which shelled populated areas of the Belgorod region for several days, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported

08:01 Summary on the morning of April 8, 2024:

With the onset of darkness, missiles and Geran UAVs launched attacks on enemy targets in Krivoy Rog, Odessa, Zhitomir, and Kyiv regions. For the next day, FAB with UMPC hit the Kharkov region, and arrivals were also reported from the Sumy region. In the Kherson direction, assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces continue to reduce the zone of control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Krynki.

On the Zaporozhye front there were battles in Rabotino and north-west of Verbovoy. There are no significant changes in LBS. The Ukrainian Armed Forces dealt another blow to the critical infrastructure of the city of Pologi. Four transformers and three substations were disabled. In addition, two enemy attacks occurred at the Zaporizhia NPP in Energodar. One of them was on the dome of the 6th power unit during the period when IAEA employees were at the site.

West of Avdeevka, the Russian Armed Forces have the initiative at Berdychi, Semenovka, in the direction to Umansky, in Pervomaisky.

The main attention is focused on Chasov Yar: our troops are trying to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the eastern outskirts of the city, but the main battle will be when crossing the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal. The enemy concentrated the main forces behind him, densely mined the approaches to the water canal. Artillery and aviation are operating throughout the city.

In the Belogorovka area, powerful aerial bombs are also raining down on the enemy; on the ground, our assault groups are gradually pushing the enemy out of his strongholds.

In the Krasnoliman direction, heavy fighting continues near Ternov.

Salon blames 'men punching random women in NYC' on MAGA
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] A new article out from Salon puts a wild spin on the recent phenomenon of strange men punching women in the face randomly on the streets of New York: they blame MAGA.

The headline reads "Men punching random women in NYC: A desperate last gasp of the male rage fueling MAGA." The claim from writer Amanda Marcotte is that the random attacks "are an extreme manifestation of men feeling entitled to women's time and attention."

Stephanie Weng was attacked near Manhattan's Union Square by "a creep spotted in a 'Lilo & Stitch' sweatshirt," the New York Post reports. The man punched Weng in the face.
Weng sounds like a Chinese name. It couldn't possibly be that the MAGA-enraged (black) fellow who did the thumping was expressing anti-Asian xenophobia rather than misogyny?
Mostly, I suspect, he was thumping those he expected would not hit back. Asian women, for some unknown reason, have a reputation for being gentle and submissive.
There have been additional accounts, and none of them have been linked to right-leaning political motivations.
But still, you know. They coulda been, right?
Ashley Cruz was hit in the face by a man on 6th Avenue and 14th Street.

Skiboky Stora has been arrested for punching one woman.
Only one?
Only one that he was arrested for. Heaven only knows how many others there were before or since.
He went on to represent himself in court and is "a criminal recidivist with an extensive criminal record." He is also the great-great-grandson of civil rights activist Marcus Garvey.
A perfect exemplar of white rage. It could have been because she's Hispanic, not because she's a woman, but don't you believe it, not for a moment. Marcus Garvey, for those who don't recall him or never heard of him, used to dress up like a Gilbert & Sullivan admiral and advocate for Colored Folk (they weren't black back then) to return to the Mother Continent…
"He is a frequent candidate for elected office and performing artist who records rap music under the name Designer Attitude," the Post states.
See? MAGA. Toldja so.
Malliak Miah was arrested as well and charged with assault after he was suspected of punching a woman in the face in Greenwich Village. Other attacks have been reported to police.

That's totally irrelevant to Salon, however, which claims that the women "were just living their lives, and that, it seems, is what enraged their assailants."
Aren't we all "just living our lives" until we're dead? Then we don't care.
Marcotte brings the attacks back to the complaint that men are enraged by women who don't pay attention to them.
You'd think after a while they'd get used to it.
"These stories resonate," Marcotte writes, "as well, because the nation is having a moment of increasingly unhinged male fury at women for daring to have lives that are centered around something other than catering to a man's every whim. Unleashed by Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
and the MAGA movement, there's an upswell of loud male entitlement shouting at us from every corner."
You sure?
Marcotte then links it all back to Jordan Peterson, "trad wives," Ben Shapiro, and "backlash" against feminism.
Oh, Jordan! Oh, Ben! How could you?
And who does Salon blame for all that? Young, male Trump voters, not criminals. "The rise of MAGA is fueled by misogyny. But it's less a backlash than a tantrum, a rage explosion by men who want to restore their dominance but fear that, this time,
... but only this time...
women won't buckle to their bullying. This rash of men punching women in New York City captures this moment in a dark way," Marcotte writes.
Ummm... Yes. In a dark way. You sure that's not racist?
As to who is actually to blame for the direct, violent mostly peaceful, real life attacks on women? That, she says, is irrelevant. "We don't even need to know their names or faces
Especially not their faces...
to know that men who do this are losers, lashing out because they've learned that actually, women don't owe them anything just because they're men."
Sadly, I suppose, some men and some women continue under the illusion that we owe each other a bit of respect and good behavior. But the number does seem to be diminishing.
Marcotte, of course, doesn't know anything about the men suspected in these attacks. She only knows that they are men and that is enough for her to label them with the most vile of all labels: MAGA.
I think the biggest news in this article is that Salon is still around.
They think of themselves as a smart tabloid with a leftwing, San Francisco sensibility (not something I would boast about, but I’m not the target audience). In the almost thirty years since founding, they’ve apparently never once made a profit, which points to the popularity of the viewpoint even among those who share it.

State Department says that Ukraine will not join NATO until the conflict is over.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Not mentioned: a requirement to win the conflict.

[Regnum] Ukraine's accession to NATO can only take place after the end of the current conflict, State Department press service chief Matthew Miller said at a briefing on April 8.

“Ultimately, this process (Ukraine’s accession to NATO - editor’s note) will move forward after the end of this conflict,” he said.

As Regnum reported, on the same day, the US Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Alliance, Julianne Smith, said that following the NATO summit in July 2024 in Washington, a concrete result is expected for Ukraine to strengthen Kiev’s work with the bloc. She explained that we are talking about providing additional resources for Ukraine, as well as “institutionalizing some bilateral support.”

Earlier, the American edition of The New York Times, citing sources, wrote that the leaders of NATO countries at the upcoming meeting in Washington do not intend to invite Ukraine to the alliance because of the collective security agreement, since the military bloc is afraid of being drawn directly into the largest armed conflict since 1945 on the European continent.

Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Egor Chernev, in turn, called on NATO to at least “reserve” a place for Kiev. Military expert Alexander Khramchikhin, in an interview with Regnum news agency, noted that this call voiced by Chernev will remain unfulfilled.

On April 5, the Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that NATO representatives are discussing the possibility of territorial concessions from Kiev to Russia in exchange for security guarantees for Ukraine and its entry into the military bloc. According to the publication, this possibility is not discussed during official discussions, but is discussed during informal conversations, which makes this option increasingly real, especially before the upcoming US presidential elections.

2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, on Monday said that her husband still sincerely stood with his party’s founder Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree...
Addressing a joint presser along with Shujaat Hussain’s sister, Sumaira Elahi, in Gujrat, Qaisera Qaisera said: "Parvez Elahi still sincerely stands with Imran Khan."

At the same time, she blamed incumbent Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for creating rift between her husband and PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Differences emerged within the Chaudhry clan — an influential political family in Punjab’s Gujrat — last year after Elahi announced supporting PTI founder Imran Khan while his cousin Shujaat was standing with his old friends, PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Ten Percent Zardari
...former president of Pakistain, husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, who has been singularly lacking in curiosity about who done her in...
and the Sharif family.

Referring to the upcoming by-election in PP-32 Gujrat constituency, she said: "I am surprised that 25-year-old milk-drinking baby Musa Elahi is contesting elections against 78-year-old Parvez Elahi."

Musa Elahi is the son of Chaudhary Wajahat Hussain, the younger brother of the PML-Q chief.

"Parvez Elahi, at the age of 78, is still brave enough to bear hardships," she added.

It is pertinent to mention here that Elahi has been lingering in prison since June 1 last year in connection with multiple cases registered against him.

Elahi was taken into custody by anti-corruption officials from near his residence in Lahore on June 1 in the Rs70 million corruption case related to the embezzlement of development funds allocated for the Gujrat district. Since then, the former Punjab chief minister was re-arrested multiple times after being released on the orders of the relevant courts.

The View co-hosts claim the solar eclipse and earthquake are linked to climate change
[MAIL] The View co-hosts had a heated debate on Monday as they tried to explain the science behind the total solar eclipse, which saw millions of Americans taking to the streets to view the rare celestial phenomenon. Hostin, 55, began by asserting that the total solar eclipse, the 4.8-magnitude earthquake that rocked New York City last week, and the imminent arrival of trillions of red-eyed insects are possible signs of climate change. 'We have a solar eclipse. We have the earthquake,' Hostin said. 'All those factors together might lead one to believe that either climate change exists or something significant is happening.' Co-host Joy Behar countered her claims, saying: 'Except earthquakes are not at the mercy of climate change. It's underground. It can't.'

Nicaragua seeks to halt German arms exports to Israel at World Court
[GEO.TV] Nicaragua is set to ask the International Court of Justice on Monday to order Berlin to halt military arms exports to Israel and reverse its decision to stop funding UN Paleostinian refugee agency UNRWA.

The two-day hearings on emergency measures are part of a wider case brought by Nicaragua which accuses Germany of violating the Genocide Convention and the laws of war with its support for Israel.

German officials have said the ICJ case is not justified, and Berlin will present its side in court Tuesday.

Germany has been one of Israel's staunchest allies.

A train with French military equipment passed through Switzerland to Bosnia and Herzegovina
Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The train with French military equipment proceeded to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) through Swiss territory, the Swiss government said.

It is clarified that no special permission was required for the transit of military equipment, since Bern is participating in efforts to promote peace in BiH.

“These vehicles are intended for the strategic reserve forces, which from April will strengthen the EU mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina EUFOR Althea <...> Since stability in the Western Balkans is in the interests of Switzerland, it contributes to these efforts, participating in this mission since 2004 with 20 armed military personnel,” the Federal Council said in a statement.

The government explained that the task of the mission established by decision of the UN Security Council is to “ensure a deterrent presence in order to guarantee security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

As Regnum reported, in February, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the countries of the collective West took away the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina and turned the state into their colony, replacing the principles of the Dayton Agreements. The West continues its experiments on the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who already suffered from NATO aggression in 1995, the diplomat added. According to her, trying to replace the fundamental principles of the peace treaty, the West is following the “best” traditions of its neocolonial policy. The goal is to turn BiH into a raw materials and political appendage of the Western bloc, Zakharova emphasized.

Naryshkin: in 1814, Russia did not allow Britain and Prussia to dismember France
After the capitulation of Paris in 1814, Russia did not allow European countries to divide France into several parts, thus preserving it as a European power, said on April 8 the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin.

In 1814, Russia not only helped the peoples of Europe end a bloody war, but also contributed to the establishment of a just post-war world order, Naryshkin noted during a round table dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the capture of Paris by the Russian army.

“Opposing its allies, primarily Great Britain and Prussia, who insisted on dismembering France into several parts, Russia did not allow the defeated France to be humiliated, which could upset the balance of power. Thus, Russia has preserved France as a great European power,” said the director of the SVR.

The Congress of Vienna, organized after the victory over Napoleonic France with the leading role of Russian diplomacy, developed a new system of international relations that provided Europe with several decades of peace and operated until it was destroyed by the European powers themselves, including Russia's former allies who opposed during the Crimean War, Naryshkin added.

As Regnum reported, on March 31, on the anniversary of the capture of Paris by the allied Russian-Prussian and Russian-German-Austrian armies, Senator Alexei Pushkov said that French President Emmanuel Macron, making statements about the possibility of sending troops to the conflict zone in Ukraine, may not aware of the fate of the army of the French Emperor Napoleon, the collapse of which began after the invasion of Russia.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, in turn, on the same day congratulated the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and the French authorities on the 210th anniversary of the entry of the Russian army into Paris. The predecessors of the current leaders of France did not appreciate Russia’s peacefulness and paid dearly for it. Moscow stands for peace and cooperation, but on an equal basis, Zakharova emphasized.

It was the USSR that allowed the French to sit at the table of the victorious powers of fascism - Naryshkin
If it were not for the position of the USSR, then France would not have been allowed to be among the victorious countries of fascist Germany in 1945. The director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, the chairman of the Russianhistorical society Sergei Naryshkin at a round table dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the capture of Paris by the Russian army.

“We remember and honor the memory of the pilots of the Normandy-Niemen squadron, we remember the French Resistance. But we also remember that under the banner of Hitler, regiments and divisions of the French came to Russian soil,” he said. - We all remember this. And despite this, the Soviet Union, represented by Stalin, when the act of complete and unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany was signed, placed the French representative on the side of the victorious powers. We all remember this. And the great French and world leader, General de Gaulle, remembered this. But in any case, most of the current political class (in France) has unfortunately forgotten about this.”

It should be noted that having declared war on Germany in September 1939, the French chose not to conduct offensive actions. France itself was surrendered to its authorities in 42 days. At the same time, the combat power of France and its allies was comparable to the forces of the Nazis.

According to some reports, when six years later German Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel was forced to sign an act of unconditional surrender, he looked towards the French representative and, not without sarcasm, asked Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov: “Did these guys defeat us too?”

Russian Foreign Ministry blames the strikes on the Zaporizhia NPP on the countries helping Kyiv
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The blame for the attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), as well as for their consequences, falls fully on the countries helping Kyiv. This was stated by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The country’s foreign ministry also added that Russia expects IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to provide a public and completely truthful response to the Kiev regime’s attack on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on the international community to deprive Kyiv of the ability to carry out terrorist attacks on nuclear facilities.

At the same time, according to the ministry, Russia is doing everything necessary to ensure the safety of the nuclear power plant in accordance with international legal obligations. The Russian Federation will identify and prosecute those responsible for attacks on its nuclear facilities, regardless of their location, the statement clarifies.

The country's Foreign Ministry indicated that Ukraine, supported by the United States and its satellites, makes it clear that it has taken the path of nuclear terror.

The blame for the attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), as well as for their consequences, falls fully on the countries helping Kyiv. This is stated in a statement by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the attacks of the Kiev regime on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

“The blame for the strikes on the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, as well as for their possible consequences, falls fully on the leadership of those states that supply the Kiev regime with weapons and intelligence, supply it with financial resources, train military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and provide information “support” for Ukrainian crimes,” - emphasized in the diplomatic department.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also stated that Russia expects Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to provide a public and completely truthful response to the Kyiv regime’s attack on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on the world community, international organizations, primarily the IAEA, to deprive Kyiv of the ability to carry out terrorist attacks on nuclear facilities.

The country's Foreign Ministry indicated that Ukraine, supported by the United States and its satellites, makes it clear that it has taken the path of nuclear terror.

As Regnum reported, on April 7, Rosatom reported an unprecedented attack by the Kiev regime’s drones on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The strikes created a real threat to the safety of the Zaporizhia NPP.

Three employees were injured due to unprecedented drone attacks.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that it was not involved in the attacks on the Zaporizhia NPP. In response to this, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called on the curators of the Kiev regime to stop attacks on the station, emphasizing that such attacks are acts of nuclear terrorism.

The official representative of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said that the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by the Ukrainian military is a very dangerous provocation that can have very bad consequences.

Zakharova: by supplying the Armed Forces of Ukraine with drones, the USA and Britain are sponsoring nuclear terrorism in Kyiv

The United States and Britain, by supplying the Armed Forces of Ukraine with drones, are behind the attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, sponsoring nuclear terrorism in Kiev, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 8.

The Western patrons of the Kiev regime provide it not only with weapons, but also with political support and information cover, Zakharova noted on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

“Behind all this are, first of all, the United States of America, Britain and all those of their satellites, which individually and collectively supply the Kiev regime with these very unmanned vehicles, these very shells with which they are loaded, this very money with which all this is produced, political support and motivation, and also, most importantly, information cover,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As Regnum reported, on April 7, Rosatom reported an unprecedented attack by Ukrainian Armed Forces drones on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. The strikes created a real threat to the safety of the Zaporizhia NPP, the company’s press service noted. One of the drones attacked the dome of the sixth power unit of the station. The object did not suffer critical damage, and the radiation background at the station did not change.

IAEA inspectors, who were on the territory of the nuclear power plant at the time of the strike, confirmed the attack for the first time since 2022 and reported three hits to the structure of the containment shell of the main reactor. Agency head Rafael Grossi called the attack reckless, emphasizing that attacks on the facility seriously increase the risk of a nuclear accident and must be stopped immediately. The Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant was close to a nuclear accident, Grossi said.

The blame for the strikes on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, as well as for their consequences, falls fully on the countries helping Kiev, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. Moscow will raise the issue of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on the station at one of the next meetings of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, said Russia’s permanent representative to the world organization Vasily Nebenzya.

Lawyer Craft called the game 'Smoot' a worthy replacement for Western products
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Lawyer and social activist Ilya Remeslo
Who?
played the sensational computer game “Troubles” and praised it highly. Remeslo shared his opinion on his Telegram channel.

“I also got to the sensational game “Smoot.” The game definitely deserves attention, I didn’t regret the money spent. Gorgeous graphics, landscapes, characters' faces. The very idea of creating a game on a similar topic already deserves praise - popularizing the patriotic history of our country is a good thing,” he wrote.

Craft noted that immediately after the release of the game, a number of media outlets, recognized in Russia as foreign agents, immediately burst out with biased reviews. According to the expert, the task of these publications is not to criticize, but to discredit. He added that the reasons for such a reaction are quite understandable, because the key idea of the game is to resist the Polish invasion, that is, the West’s attempt to destroy Russia.
A serious attempt by Poland to invade Russia does seem a tad fantastical, but then computer games are fantasies. And even the USDOD has seriously wargamed the invasion of Canada, among others, so being unrealistic in that sense does not seem a credible objection.
“It was this “anti-Polish” discourse that was the main reason why foreign agents were incited into the game with the support of bots,” the expert said.

The expert noted that Troubles is a worthy replacement for previously dominant Western games. In his opinion, the appearance of the first big game based on a Russian work, on the theme of Russian history, should be welcomed.

The release of the computer game “Troubles,” which is dedicated to the events of 1612, when the people’s militia drove the Polish invaders out of Moscow, took place in early April.

As Regnum reported, in July 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that computer games should help a person develop, as well as instill in people universal human values and “unleavened patriotism.”

He later noted that it was important to create content, including video games, in which Russia would be presented from the most attractive side. Such games should include respect for the history and traditions of Russia, for parents and for the country itself, the president said.

In February 2024, the former captain of the Russian national football team, Andrei Arshavin, asked the head of state to assist in the development of a Russian computer football simulator. The appearance of an analogue of the FIFA game would provide an opportunity for those who wish to play for the Russian national team and teams of the Russian Premier League, Arshavin noted.

Izvestia: Fraudsters used Google service for phishing mailings
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] A popular Google service, Looker Studio, has been used by scammers to deceive Russian users.FACCT told Izvestia about this.

Experts noted that this is a new scheme for Russia. Fraudsters built it on the vulnerabilities of Looker Studio, a tool designed to summarize data into convenient reports. In the fall of 2023, researchers from Checkpoint identified the problem.

Potential victims receive emails informing them of payments or compensation. The link in the email leads to a Google presentation with a single slide that redirects the user to a fraudulent resource.
How very duplicitous of them.
According to Anton Afonin, head of the network traffic analysis and machine learning department at FACCT, outwardly the letter from the scammers is no different from the Looker Studio mailing. Moreover, it is sent through a Google server.

Google has not yet taken action to neutralize this scheme, and users need to remain vigilant in order not to fall for scammers. The very promise of payment should alert them, for example the slide "to receive 28 thousand rubles." Then the scammers offer to choose a bank that will supposedly transfer the money, but the domains on the proposed sites do not match the originals, the expert explained.

As reported by IA Regnum, previously an investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Sofya Chulkova warned that telephone scammers have intensified attempts to deceive Russians under the guise of "State Services", although they also continue to call on behalf of banks and mobile operators. She noted that genuine mailings from the State Services portal are always notifications and do not require switching to any Internet resource.

The number of serious crimes in Russia has increased due to cases of fraud, with customers often located in Ukraine, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said in a recent interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
