Surprising number of Americans 'not sure' if fighting Nazis was good, poll finds
[NYPOST] In the realm of global conflicts, World War II is often viewed as the quintessential battle between good and evil.

Nonetheless, a whopping one-third of Americans either believe that it was a mistake or remain unsure about the US’s involvement in the so-called "good war," according to a new poll by the Economist/YouGov.

The study, which was conducted in honor of Memorial Day, asked 1,500 Americans whether it was a mistake for the US to participate in wars from World War I to Iraq. To ensure accurate representation, the sample was weighted according to gender, age, race, education, 2016 presidential vote, registration status, geographic region, and other designations, per the site.

The poll found that a whopping 18% of participants were unsure if Uncle Sam should’ve participated in WWII, in which President Franklin Delano Roosevelt deployed troops to fight the Nazis and the Japanese Empire in 1941.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch started the buffalo stampeding......
14% thought fighting in the "War Against Hitler" was a mistake while 62% believed that contributing soldiers was the right decision.

#4  They all seem to forget or didn't cared to find out. It was about a week after Pearl Harbor that the Germans and Italians declared war on the United States. It wasn't an option at that point. The east coast would become inflamed as shipping was sunk almost unmolested since the US Navy had no real anti-submarine program (after watching the British having to deal with it for over two years).

#6  That's a weird take on history. FDR waged an undeclared war on Germany in the Atlantic. How about the Rueben Jones incident?

When German transports loaded up in Mexico, they'd be shadowed by an American ship broadcasting their location. Oh, it would be a pity if a British submarine showed up and sank it.

Once you learn how about the wars the US government foists on us, you never look at history the same. It's been this way since 1898. They have goals to achieve, money to make, and if hundreds of thousands of us have to die, well that's a price they're willing to pay.

#8  A spelling flame...really is that all you've got? This isn't a conspiracy theory and all the facts have been known for decades.

"U.S. Navy ships helped escort the convoys bringing Lend-Lease goods to England. The Royal Canadian Navy escorted the convoys to a point off Newfoundland. The U.S. Navy picked the convoys up there, escorted them out into the Atlantic, and handed them over to the British Royal Navy at a mid-ocean meeting point. The Navy performed these duties while the United States maintained its official neutrality. The pretext was that the Navy was helping to supply American troops stationed in Iceland. Merchant ships of other nations, such as Great Britain, were free to tag along, and these “hitchhikers” got U.S. Navy protection. This subterfuge was necessary because of isolationist sentiment in Congress, but it fooled few, least of all the German Navy.

On September 4, 1941, a German U- boat attacked the destroyer USS Greer (DD-145) as she steamed alone toward Iceland. The Greer dodged two torpedoes and counterattacked with depth charges. In response, Roosevelt ordered the Navy to shoot on sight any Axis warship found in waters “the protection of which is necessary for American defense.” The North Atlantic came within the scope of this order. Roosevelt’s logic was simple: “If you see a rattlesnake poised to strike, you do not wait until he has struck before you crush him.”

The London Daily Mail predicted that the United States was “marching down the last mile to a declaration of war.”

#9  ...because of isolationist sentiment in Congress

Which reflected the national mood. The Americans were all for taking on Japan for Pearl Harbor and swiftly followed by their invasion of the US territory of the Philippines. FDR and his administration were handed the gift by Hitler, cause FDR knew that until then, he couldn't get Congress to declare war on the other Axis partners no matter what 'games' he played at the edge of enticement.

Americans must join hands to stop the 1619 Project's poisonous slanders
[NYPOST] On his first day in office, President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem mschine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family......
signed an executive order abolishing the 1776 Commission established by his predecessor. But the 1776 Commission isn’t going away quietly, and all Americans should be grateful for that.

While the stated intent of the commission was to help prepare for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, then-President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and whatever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s real purpose was to correct the lies told about our Founding by The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

’ 1619 Project.

The Times project’s central proposition is that the arrival of the first African slaves on these shores in 1619 was the "true" founding of the American republic. According to project director Nikole Hannah-Jones, the colonies launched the American Revolution in defense of slavery — a claim debunked by some of the nation’s most eminent historians, including many liberal scholars, not that Hannah-Jones and her editors had enough shame to forthrightly retract it.

The 1619 Project mainstreamed the critical race theories and anti-American historical distortions that went kaboom! in the 2020 riots. Indeed, as Charles Kesler suggested in these pages, last summer’s violent mostly peaceful unrest could be called the 1619 riots.

Despite 1619’s errors, big and small — not least the outrageous characterization of Lincoln as a racist bent on resettling liberated slaves in Africa — Hannah-Jones won a Pulitzer Prize; the Times might as well house the award next to its 1932 Pulitzer for reporting that covered up Stalin’s terror famine in Ukraine.

Yet school districts around the country have embraced 1619 as a curricular template for teaching US history. Trump, then, was right to establish a commission that would counter the influence of a project designed to poison the minds of students. But Biden, intent on reversing everything Trump did and in thrall to his party’s left wing, dumped it.

Despite the presidential shutdown, the group informally reissued the report it submitted in January. More important, members met again in May to begin an effort to push back against a new Biden Department of Education rule that would, under the guise of "anti-racism," direct federal funds to programs that will be guided by critical race theory.

That means the Biden administration will actually be encouraging and funding the teaching of racial discrimination — mirroring its overtly racist COVID-relief efforts that exclude white farmers and restaurateurs.

In-group favoritism, sometimes known as in-group–out-group bias, in-group bias, intergroup bias, or in-group preference, is a pattern of favoring members of one's in-group over out-group members. This can be expressed in evaluation of others, in allocation of resources, and in many other ways.

Two prominent theoretical approaches to the phenomenon of in-group favoritism are realistic conflict theory and social identity theory. Realistic conflict theory proposes that intergroup competition, and sometimes intergroup conflict, arises when two groups have opposing claims to scarce resources. In contrast, social identity theory posits a psychological drive for positively distinct social identities as the general root cause of in-group favoring behavior.
If a manager's favoritism is based on a protected characteristic, such as race, sex, or religion, that might constitute illegal discrimination. For example, if a manager refuses to promote Latino employees or gives plum assignments to younger workers only, employees may be able to sue for discrimination.

Biden is guilty of this behavior in office.

Slow Joe Putting Kamala in Charge of Voting Legislation
[HotAir] Ah, that’s nice of him. Something new for her to fail at instead of just failing to ease the border crisis.

"To signify the importance of our efforts, today I’m asking Vice President Harris to help these efforts and lead them among her many other responsibilities," Biden said. "With her leadership and your support, we’re going to overcome again, but it’s going to take a hell of a lot of work."
If she does as well at this as she did with the border we should be just fine.
Biden called the challenges to voting rights in recent months a "truly unprecedented assault on our democracy." Georgia, Florida and Arizona, all competitive states in the 2020 election, have seen Republican-led legislatures drastically overhaul voting procedures. Texas is looking to pass a similar law, though Democratic lawmakers there managed to thwart its passage over the weekend.

Why does Biden want Harris in charge of voting rights? What’s she going to bring to the table to dislodge Joe Manchin’s and Kyrsten Sinema’s opposition to ending the filibuster, the only chance Dems have of passing a bill?

Not much. She’s the highest-ranking African-American official in the administration so having her as the face of the effort makes it even easier symbolically for the White House to frame the GOP’s new voting laws as essentially racist. Harris is a former senator too, of course, so in theory she has relationships in the chamber she could leverage to move votes. But she was in the Senate only four years; if anyone’s in a position to gladhand former colleagues in the interest of getting something passed, it’s Biden, not Harris. Besides, Joe Manchin is the key vote here and Manchin has already gotten annoyed once before at Harris for trying to strong-arm him on legislation.

Perhaps anticipating her new role, she told MSNBC this morning that she "eats ’no’ for breakfast." Well, she has a large breakfast waiting for her in the Senate.

Vulnerable Democrats Do Not Want to Talk About Donald Trump Anymore
[BREITBART] Vulnerable Democrats do not want to talk about Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
anymore, as they seek reelection in 2022 to keep House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
in power.

"The former president is now a private citizen, and it appears our justice system is handling whatever potential misdeeds he may or may not have committed," said Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), who will be in a tough reelection bid due to the State of Florida’s redistricting measures.

Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) said she is "focused on substantive issues. Not just retribution for a failed, corrupt president."

She continued, "I’ve never been obsessed with going after former President Trump."

"Even when President Trump was president, people got tired of hearing about him," said Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), who won his seat in 2018.

"Trump puts his foot in his mouth more than anybody else. Let him do the talking. People are going to see him for what he is," Luján said.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spokesperson Chris Taylor echoed his members’ strategy.

"In our campaigns, we’re going to tell voters what we’ve accomplished and what we’re fighting for," said Taylor in relation to keeping the Democrat’s message off President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier......
’s failures and Republican successes.

Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) agreed with Taylor, saying Democrats should stay away from the topic of Trump.

"I think it’s a bad idea if [Democrats] bring Trump in and they really make him the focal point of the election," he said. "You’re gonna have some places where it hurts them, and other places where it hurts them severely."

The proposed strategy is a reversed one from the 2020 cycle, when Democrats largely campaigned on Trump’s personality.

Indeed, a study revealed the establishment media covered Trump’s character the most, while reporting on his economy the least.

Election data from 2020 indicates former President Trump grew his margins with females and all races and demographics, except white men.

Data indicates Democrats may want to stay clear of an agenda that suggests "Women of color were the most swayed by Trump’s style of governing," Matt Bruenig, founder of the left-wing think tank People’s Policy Project, said of his findings.

Biden's DHS Issues Another Baseless White Supremacy Warning For Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Events
[THEFEDERALIST] After months of failed predictions concerning potentially violent mostly peaceful acts committed by white supremacists, President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....
’s Department of Homeland Security issued another blanket statement warning law enforcement, organizers, and attendees of the Tulsa Race Massacre centennial commemoration events that they could be targets of extremism.

Just last week, DHS said the "events associated with the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre ... probably are attractive targets for some racially or ethnically motivated violent mostly peaceful murderous Moslem-white supremacists to commit violence."

DHS later admitted that "there are no specific or credible threats at this time that violent mostly peaceful forces of Evil are planning on targeting the remembrance," but corporate media outlets such as ABC News, CNN
...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for...
, NBC News, and even Rolling Stone continued to amplify their coverage of a potential attack. Some of these same corrupt outlets even claimed that events such as "Remember and Rise," which sought to commemorate the fatal day, were canceled due to the reported threats, but others say the true reason for taking the event off the schedule was a dispute over payments to survivors of the massacre and their descendants.

Despite the federal agency’s claims, hundreds of people gathered peacefully on the 100th anniversary of the race massacre to remember the many black people killed in the 1921 race mob in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Biden is also still scheduled to visit the area on Tuesday to participate in a series of memorial activities to remember the destruction of "Black Wall Street," a trip the White House would probably rethink if it actually anticipated violence.

This isn’t the first time DHS, especially under the Biden administration, has warned against nonexistent violence and then was let off the hook by the media when its projections never came to fruition. In March, corporate media and Democrats amplified a memo from the DHS and FBI warning that "domestic murderous Moslems" were ramping up to "take control of the U.S. Capitol and remove democratic politicians on or about the 4th of March." Capitol Police also signaled the threat of a breach, while federal agents conducted investigations into "whether there was an increase in the number of hotel rooms being rented in Washington, as well as monitoring flights to the area, car rental reservations and any buses being chartered to bring groups into the capital."

Similar predictions were used to justify prolonged fencing and National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., but the only violence and rowdiness that occurred on Jan. 20 were committed by Antifa
...the armed wing of the Democratic Party...
rioters who erupted into the streets to vandalize businesses and even the Oregon Democratic Party headquarters to protest Biden’s inauguration.

Does Anyone Actually Like Adam Schiff?
[TOWNHALL] There are some Members of Congress you see and think, "I get it, I can see how that person got elected." Either they’re charismatic, smart, attractive, have that "it" factor, or some combination of those traits and you get it. Then there are some who have you thinking they made some kind of deal with the devil to get there — personality-less, weird, creepy, almost soulless people who’d say or do anything if it helped them, even a little. Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Congressman Adam Schiff
...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"...
is the perfect example of that.

He hasn’t been in the news much, which should tell you something about all the allegations he threw around during the Trump administration. For someone who swore the Russian government had installed a puppet in the White House, it’s a bit odd that he’d drop all investigations into it the second he had a President in the White House who’d offer up access to any and everything within the executive branch, doesn’t it?

Hunter Biden's laptop keeps damning Joe, but most media just ignore it
[NYPOST] Hunter Biden
......son of President Joe: cashiered from the Navy, a crackhead, wheeler dealer, leg humper, horn dog, and general all around ne'er do well. We're supposed to feel sorry for him.....
’s laptop continues to yield damning information that shows his dad, President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....
, played a significant and knowing role in his son’s sleazy influence-peddling. And while the media efforts to pretend these revelations are nothing but "Russian disinformation" have ceased, The Post’s scoops still get ignored by outlets that would be all over them if they were about the Trump family.

The latest, of course, is the photographic evidence that then-Veep Joe attended an April 16, 2015, dinner with shady Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakh "businessmen" and even posed for photos with the unseemly guests.

To put some face-saving cover on the event in the private "Garden Room" at Café Milano, a posh Georgetown eatery ("Where the world’s most powerful people go," run its promos), Hunter billed it as "ostensibly to discuss food security," as he emailed one guest, and invited several officials from the World Food Program.

But the beards were outnumbered by the likes of corrupt former Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov (hubby of Russian billionaire Yelena Baturina, who’d paid one of Hunter’s firms $3.5 million the year before), Kazakh oligarch Kenes Rakishev, Karim Massimov, a former prime minister of Kazakhstan, and Vadym Pozharskyi, an executive of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

The photo of the then-veep and Hunter smiling with the two Kazakhs, clearly shot at Café Milano, isn’t the only proof Joe actually attended the dinner: Pozharskyi emailed Hunter the next day, "Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. ... It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure." So much for any claim that Joe never met with Burisma officials even as he was Team Obama’s point man on Ukraine, a role he used to demand the ouster of a prosecutor who was looking into the firm.

Why Eric Adams is right not to support NYC mayoral term limits
[NYPOST] A group called US Term Limits is upset that Eric Adams, alone among the mayoral candidates, won’t take its pledge to protect New York City’s eight-year term-limit law. Come to think of it, though, 30 years (sort of) of term limits haven’t ushered in an era of enlightened government by the common man.

Gotham got term limits because of another good-government scourge: money in politics. In 1993 and 1996, cosmetics heir Ronald Lauder spent $4 million on two referendums to limit the mayor and other city officials to two four-year terms.

The voters approved both by large margins. Term limits are one of those "reforms" that people like — "throw the bums out" and all that — but that doesn’t really fix anything.

What is the problem we’re trying to solve?

Term limits for the US presidency make some sense, to avoid the risk of someone using the trappings of the office to become dictator for life.

Yet there is no risk of someone becoming tin-pot mayor for life in the Big Apple. Before New York got term limits, no mayor had ever served more than 12 years. Fiorello LaGuardia, Robert Wagner and Ed Koch all had that honor.

Even the impeachment of Gov. Cuomo is just grist for corruption
[NYPOST] Assemblyman Charles Lavine, who’s nominally in charge of the supposed Cuomo impeachment inquiry, admitted last week that there’s no end anywhere in sight. Nor will there be, until Speaker Carl Heastie decides he wants it.

At just the third Judiciary Committee meeting to even pretend to address the issue since the ball supposedly started rolling in March, Lavine merely announced that the $250,000 for outside lawyers at Davis Polk & Wardwell is just the start; the Assembly will spend as much "as needed" on its investigation.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's knife out of his hand......
The Post’s Bernadette Hogan reported that Heastie dutifully played middleman when Gov. Andrew Sonny Cuomo
...Dem dynastic governor of Noo Yawk, the son and heir of the late Mario Cuoma and formerly married to a Kennedy. Acclaimed for his leadership during the COVID epidemic, he managed the nation's highest corpse count while successfully hiding the returns and writing a book praising himself. Among the nation's horniest politicians, he has about a dozen allegations of sexual harrassment and groping against him. Noo Yawk's politix being what they are, he is still hanging tough, waiting to ride it out....
wanted Assemblyman Ron Kim to walk back his truth-telling about the admission by top Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa that Team Cuomo had intentionally kept politicians in the dark about the true COVID corpse count in state nursing homes.

At the gov’s behest, Heastie had an aide "relay" Cuomo’s request that Kim deny what he’d already told the press. "I came to the conclusion that if I put out this statement, that I would be complicit in the coverup," Kim told The Post.

And Heastie had his staff convey that invitation to help deceive the public, not the first time he’s had staff relay the gov’s threats.

So it stands to reason the Assembly’s impeachment probe won’t get very far until Cuomo tells Heastie it’s time to wrap it up. And, sadly, all Cuomo has to do in return is let the speaker have his way with public policy — the public interest be damned.

Pretty sordid, isn’t it, that even the effort to hold a governor to account for horrific abuse of his office is just grist for another corrupt bargain?

Mayoral candidate Maya Wiley releases anti-NYPD campaign ad
[NYPOST] Left-wing mayoral candidate Maya Wiley released an anti-NYPD campaign ad Tuesday, claiming cops don’t see her and other black New Yorkers as "people who deserve to breathe."

"They ran into peaceful protesters, beat others to the ground, and New York’s leaders defended it," says Wiley, who in a recent poll ranked fifth out of the eight candidates.

The former MSNBC contributor and Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio
...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserve him...
counsel speaks as footage plays of coppers driving into a crowd of protesters in June 2020 during one of the many George Floyd protests over the summer, several of which degenerated into riots with widespread looting.

While a human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
report found a Bronx protester crackdown violated international human rights law and a lawsuit from Attorney General Letitia James said "inadequately trained officers" violated New Yorkers’ civil rights, Police Commissioner Dermot Shea and de Blasio have repeatedly defended the officers’ actions during the demonstrations.

House Dems Plot Own Investigation Of Capitol Riot After Senate Votes Down January 6 Commission
[DAILYWIRE] Speaker of the House Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
(D-CA) and a number of House Democrats are plotting to put together a "select committee" in order to investigate the January 6th riots at the United States Capitol following a vote in the Senate that tanked Democrat hopes for a "January 6th Commission," according to CNN
...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for...
On Saturday, Democrats failed to marshal enough votes to overcome a filibuster, losing in an effort to create a "9/11-style commission" to investigate the origins of and security failures during the January 6th incident. Republicans voted against the commission, largely because of concerns that the Democrat-drafted bill would create a partisan committee rather than ensure a neutral investigation.

Several competing bills, drafted by "moderates" and Republicans and designed to create a bipartisan commission to investigate the rally and subsequent attack on the Capitol, also failed. Nine Republicans and two Democrats did not vote.

On Sunday, CNN noted that Pelosi and other House Democrats, who backed the probe, are now considering a new plan: forming a "select commission" in the House to investigate the riots, without a bipartisan consensus.

"House Democrats are actively considering mounting a probe of their own into the January 6 US Capitol attack, signaling they don’t plan to let the issue go away," the outlet reported. "Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made clear repeatedly that moving to create a select committee has always remained a fallback option — something that would require the support of a majority of the Democratic-led House to create. And a number of Democrats said on Friday that they believe Pelosi will indeed create the new committee — and that the caucus would strongly support such an effort."

#2  Why would any American political leader ever concede the power and prestige of the American Presidency? Well, everything in our world today revolves around Israel. Europe is not willing to fight a World War over the security and existence of Israel. Europe and the liberal political establishment will not condone America’s traditional support for Israel, (this is what the war on terror is all about) and they are working in league to change America’s political behavior in regard to the Middle East, to make it conform to a more European worldview, a worldview that does not recognize the Divine sanctity of Israel, (appease the Muslim world) and will therefore be willing to sacrifice Israel up on the alter of Global governance and world peace.

Eric Adams calls mayoral rival Andrew Yang's campaign a 'joke'
[NYPOST] The two leading New York City mayoral candidates got down and dirty Tuesday hurling personal insults at one another with just 21 days until the June 22 primary.

Eric Adams called rival Andrew Yang
...Former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate. Unlike most of the other Dem 2020 candidates, he actually did things besides politix in his adult life, which made him political poison. He worked in startups and early-stage growth companies as a founder or executive from 2000 to 2009. After he founded Venture for America, the Obama administration selected him in 2012 as a Champion of Change and in 2015 as a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship. His signature campaign policy is what he calls the Freedom Dividend, a form of Universal Basic Income for every American over 18. Yang believes UBI is a necessary response to the rapid development of automation that is leading to workforce challenges. The other two central elements of Yang's platform are Medicare for All and Human-Centered Capitalism....
’s campaign a "joke" and said he should drop out of the race — prompting the entrepreneur and 2020 presidential candidate to fire back by calling the ex-cop Brooklyn borough president "business as usual."

"Why’s he still in the race?" Adams wondered aloud at a presser.

"It’s a joke, and it’s not funny anymore. I think that these are serious issues that we are facing and we are looking at," Adams added.

"This is not a game. New York doesn’t need a cheerleader. They need a leader."

Adams also dismissed Yang’s view that much of the criticism of him not being a true New Yorker is driven by anti-Asian sentiment.

"He must understand that New Yorkers are saying, ’Why didn’t you participate in any of the municipal elections? Why did you flee this city during our darkest hour?'" Adams said, referring to Yang’s move his family to upstate New Paltz during much of the pandemic.

"We don’t need a person that will run from the city. We need a person that’s going to run the city," Adams said at Spofford Juvenile Justice in The Bronx, kicking off the final three weeks of campaigning and with early voting starting in just 11 days, on June 12.

"I don’t even know what he’s talking about," Adams sniffed. "To try to make this into something that is not, that is a distraction."
