Media Outlets Bury Revelation That Epstein Accuser Retracted Trump Allegations
[Breitbart] Media outlets buried the revelation that an accuser of the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein had retracted former President Donald Trump from her allegations.

On Monday, multiple media outlets ran reports of Trump having been named in the latest Epstein documents, but failed to note in the lede of their articles that the accuser had actually retracted those allegations in 2019.

Court documents made available on Monday included Epstein victim Sarah Ransome’s 2016 emails to the New York Post suggesting that she had Epstein-related sex tapes involving half a dozen prominent people, including Trump, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Sir Richard Branson.

Ransome, however, could not provide the tapes when asked, and no such footage has ever been uncovered.

Then in 2019, Ransome retracted her claims, according to the New Yorker, which reported that Ransome admitted to having “invented the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior, and to make him believe that she had ‘evidence that would come out if he harmed me.'”
That makes no sense. He would know if there were tapes or not
Multiple media outlets nonetheless ran with the old — and retracted — news on Monday, burying the lede in their stories, which was that Ransome’s claims had already been retracted years ago.

“These baseless accusations have been fully retracted because they are simply false and have no merit,” Steven Cheung, Trump spokesperson, said in a Monday statement.

A headline by Daily Mail read, “Donald Trump named in latest Epstein documents: Sarah Ransome said he had sex with ‘many girls’ in email where she also claimed pedophile had tapes of the ex-president, Richard Branson, Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton.”

“She retracted all her claims, telling Callahan she wanted to ‘walk away from this’, citing fears for her family,” Daily Mail eventually acknowledges in its article — four paragraphs down from the headline.

Another headline by the New York Post read, “Epstein accuser claims pedophile had sex tapes of Trump, Clinton, Prince Andrew and Richard Branson: new docs.”

“Ransome walked back the salacious allegations in an Oct. 23, 2016 email with a Post columnist, writing, ‘I would like to retract everything I have said to you and walk away from this,’ according to the filing,” the New York Post eventually admits in its article — also four paragraphs down from the headline.

Essentially, new salacious headlines were published by media outlets on Monday using old and retracted news from four years ago. That is the assessment of author and investigative reporter Vicky Ward, who first reported on Epstein in a profile piece for Vanity Fair in 2003.

“Very importantly, Sarah Ransome has since said that isn’t true — that she invented the sex tapes because she was so terrified of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at the time,” Ward explained in a Monday video on her Substack titled, “Ignore The Salacious Headlines About Clinton, Trump.”

“This is why covering this story is so complicated. Witnesses, victims are afraid. People have imperfect memories and sometimes complex motives,” Ward added.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Host Mehdi Hasan announces exit from MSNBC after final broadcast
[NYPOST] MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan announced Sunday night he was leaving the left-leaning network during his final prime-time broadcast two months after the cable news giant said it planned to scrap his show.

Hasan, who hosted “The Mehdi Hasan Show” on Sundays, broke the news after he was previously expected to stick with MSNBC as an analyst and fill-in host.

His show was canceled by network leaders in November after it suffered a ratings decline and as part of a larger shakeup at the news organization.

During the show’s last broadcast, Hasan said he was leaving to “look for a new challenge” as a new year brings “new plans.”
"Spend more time with my family"
“As we begin 2024 with an election coming, a war still ongoing and too many Trump trials, honestly, to even keep track of and with this show going away I’ve decided it’s time for me to look for a new challenge.

“Tonight’s not just my final episode of ‘The Mehdi Hasan Show,’ it’s my last day with MSNBC,” he said.

Government Corruption
Prosecutor on Special Counsel Jack Smith's Team Shut Down FBI Investigation into the Clinton Foundation in 2016
[AG] A top prosecutor on Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team recommended that the FBI shut down an investigation into the Clinton Foundation in 2016, despite ample evidence of suspicious activity related to hundreds of thousands of dollars in foreign transactions, Fox News reported.

In his May 2023 report on the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation, Special Counsel John Durham identified Ray Hulser, the former chief of the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section (PIN), as the official who "declined prosecution" of the Clinton Foundation. Hulser now serves on Smith’s team currently prosecuting former President Donald Trump for alleged crimes related to January 6.

According to Durham’s report, in late 2014, the FBI began investigating a "well-placed" confidential source’s claims that two foreign governments had attempted to make illegal donations to buy influence with Hillary ahead of her presidential campaign.

By early 2016, three different FBI field offices, in Washington, D.C., Little Rock, Arkansas, and New York, had opened investigations into the Clinton Foundation for "possible criminal activity," but Hulser shut them down, claiming there was "insufficient predication" for opening the investigations. He reportedly declined to prosecute during a meeting on February 1, 2016.

Nancy Pelosi's huge portfolio gains again make the case for banning stock-trading in Congress
[NYPOST] As Americans sweat over the high cost of food and gas, Rep. Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
’s stock portfolio racked up massive gains in 2023.

The former speaker, a consistent high performer in the market (though she had a bad year in 2022 while under increased scrutiny over her trading), enjoyed a 65% return on her investments, reports industry news service Unusual Whales.

That’s better than most major hedge funds.

Key to her success was very "lucky" use of stock options, often a sign of trading on inside information, something members of Congress have lots of.

To let average Americans echo the gains of Democrats in Congress (and their spouses), Unusual Whales last year launched the "NANC" trading fund, pointedly named after Nancy.

In theory, various guardrails prevent blatant insider trading by members of Congress, but ethics watchdogs have raised regular red flags.

Pelosi and her husband, Paul Pelosi, have made millions off tech companies that she’s responsible for regulating. (Don’t try this at home, or you could get slapped with a prison sentence of 20 years.)

Multiple bills were put forward last year to stop or limit congressional trading, including the bipartisan "Ban Stock Trading for Government Officials Act," introduced by Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand
...Machine non-entity selected to become the successor to Hillary Clinton as Senatrix-for-Life from Noo Yawk. She is running for the Dem presidential nomination in 2020. She has no observable principles, will apparently say anything to anyone, and seemingly lacks any personality of her own....
and Josh Hawley in late July, which went nowhere.

#2  Ultimately, they trade influence. Several of them get paid through the stock market. Biden had a different gig. From the federal worker standpoint, Fauci had several lucrative scams not based on stock trades. Other folks get book deals, honorariums and plum job opportunities. The system needs an enema.

Fani Willis accused of hiring a man she was in a romantic relationship with to prosecute Donald Trump and play a prominent role in the election interference case, bombshell court documents claim
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Trump co-defendant Michael Roman included charges in bombshell filing

  • It alleges that Fani Willis had 'romantic' relationship with private lawyer

  • Nathan Wade is special prosecutor assisting her office

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been accused of hiring a private lawyer she was in a 'romantic' relationship with to prosecute Donald Trump, according to a stunning filing by one of the former president's co-defendants.

The bombshell allegations are included in a filing by Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official who is accused of taking part in the 'fake electors' scheme as one of 18 people charged in the state along with Trump.

The public court filing, which seeks the dismissal of charges against him, alleges that Willis was in a personal relationship with private lawyer Nathan Wade, who was paid more than $600,000 as a special prosecutor assisting her office's sprawling probe of Trump's election overturn effort.

The filing doesn't provide documentary proof of the allegations. It states that 'sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney have confirmed they had an ongoing, personal relationship.'

The motion states the gravity of the allegations. 'The instant Motion is not filed lightly. Nor is it being filed without considerable forethought, research or investigation,' according to the filing.

'Nonetheless, this Motion must be heard, as the issues raised herein strike at the heart of fairness in our justice system and, if left unaddressed and unchecked, threaten to taint the entire prosecution, invite error, and completely undermine public confidence in the eventual outcome of this proceeding.'

It states that the pair engaged in 'a personal, romantic relationship that has ultimately yielded substantial income to the special prosecutor.'

The filing makes reference to a sealed divorce filing for the married special prosecutor, but then goes on to make the claim based on other information.

It states that 'information obtained outside of court filings indicates that the district attorney and special prosecutor have traveled personally together to such places as Napa Valley, Florida and the Caribbean and the special prosecutor has purchased tickets for both of them to travel on both the Norwegian and Royal Carbibean cruise lines. Traveling together to such places as Washington, D.C. or New York City might make sense for work purposes in light of other pending litigation, but what work purpose could only be served by travel to this traditional vacation destinations?'

DailyMail.com has reached out to Willis' office and Wade for comment.

A Willis spokesman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the DA’s office would respond 'through appropriate court filings.'

'The district attorney chose to appoint her romantic partner, who at all times relevant to this prosecution has been a married man,' according to the filing.

It says the DA and Wade 'have been seen in private together in and about the Atlanta area' and are 'believed to have co-habitated in some form or fashion.'

It further states that there is 'no evidence' Willis was 'authorized' by the county to use funds to retain Wade for the case.

Roman was charged this summer with alleged crimes including taking part in a racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to commit forgery, and conspiracy to file false documents, all in connection with a scheme to submit fake Republican electors who would cast votes for Trump in place of electors to reflect Joe Biden's certified victory in the state.

Any more poison pills and mayoral control of NYC schools will be a dead letter
[NYPOST] Mayoral control of New York City public schools is on the cusp of extinction: If the Legislature weakens it any more this year, the United Federation of Teachers will effectively be calling the shots.

The UFT is already all too close, having used its vast power in Albany to water down the mayor’s power in the Panel for Educational Policy (which officially controls the city Department of Education) two years ago — while also passing an NYC-only “class size” law that basically forces the city to spend an added $2 billion a year on more teachers despite declining enrollment.

The Legislature also only renewed the law for just two years setting it up to further undermine the mayor this year.

And the fix is in: The 2022 renewal also ordered the State Education Department to review mayoral control and recommend changes — and the SED, as we’ve warned for years now, is firmly in the tank for the teachers unions.

If lawmakers fail to act, the city suddenly defaults to the old Board of Education governance rules — guaranteeing both a chaotic transition and de-facto UFT rule.

Thanks to lawmakers like Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D-Bronx) and state Sen. John Liu (D-Queens), renewing this law has become a regular means for the Legislature to make NYC mayors come begging — and now an exercise in rewarding the UFT for its campaign donations and political support.
