Farrakhan: Mideast uprisings will come to US
Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan predicted on Sunday that America faces imminent uprisings that mirror those in the Middle East.
Americans demanding freedom, prosperity and democracy?
"What you are looking at in Tunisia, in Egypt ... Libya, in Bahrain ... what you see happening there ... you'd better prepare because it will be coming to your door," Farrakhan said in a booming voice, thousands of followers cheering in his wake.

Farrakhan also called on President Barack Obama to allow protesters to march, urging the president not to attack innocent people when they do.

The keynote address, titled "God will send saviours," capped a weekend of workshops focused on health, preparing for natural disasters and unidentified flying objects. The Nation of Islam believes in a UFO called "the wheel" or "the Mother Plane."

Farrakhan has described a 1985 religious experience in which he ascended into a flying saucer and heard the voice of Elijah Muhammad predicting historical events that came to pass.

For about four hours, Farrakhan spoke and jumped from topic to topic, citing religious texts.
Among other insane rants, he even praised Scientology and its founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Freddie: not "innocent people", all people, OK. Obama may not consider Tea Partiers innocent and we need protection for them too.

#5  He also claims he ascended into a flying saucer and heard the voice of Elijah Muhammad...

Nutjob. Americans don't take too kindly to threats from anyone. Farrakhan is able to spout his BS because a great many brave Americans died for his right to do so. They continue to do so. If he doesn't like this country, there are plenty of dictator-run dumps in which to go run by fellow travelers. However, it looks like there are fewer and fewer dictators everyday.

Afghanistan
DNC Adopts Resolution Urging Speedier End to Afghan War
[Tolo News] President Barack B.O. Obama has adopted a resolution to push the administration towards a speedier withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, reports say.

Members of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) have reportedly passed the resolution at DNC's annual winter meeting in Washington D.C. where hundreds of members from all parts of the United States have gathered to discuss finances, resolutions, and figure out re-election of Democrats in 2012.
Good luck with that, guys. Really.
The resolution adopted Saturday states that "the Democratic Party supports prioritising job creation and a swift withdrawal of US armed forces and military contractors in Afghanistan which must include a significant and sizeable reduction no later than July 2011."

According to the resolution the nearly ten-year-old war has cost more than $100 billion per year, and that 72 percent in the US want to speed up the withdrawal process, arguing that the conflict does not have a military solution.

The US is to begin withdrawing troops from Afghanistan in July 2011 and Afghan forces are to undertake full security responsibility by 2014.

Last year Defence Secretary Robert Gates had said the US would start withdrawal of troops in July 2011, but had emphasised that any withdrawals would happen based on conditions on the ground.

#1  From the Washington Post, November 18, 2008
Obama suggested - as he did during the campaign - that he'll get the terror master Bush failed to find. Worse, the president-elect stated that he'll "stamp out al Qaeda once and for all."

#2  military contractors in Afghanistan which must include a significant and sizeable reduction no later than July 2011."

July would be lovely, after the 16th if possible thank you. Would not want to miss the tax break.

I suspect there is a significant amount of behind the scenes actions taking place with the Taliban that will enable the MSM to herald a huge success story for Obama in months leading up to the election. Not 'victory' mind you, but a successfully negociated settlement. I pitty these poor buggers after the US pulls out. This place will be another Cambodia of the 1970's.

#3  Besoeker,

You'd think they would have it pre-negotiated but it won't work. These arabs won't stick to an agreement. They will turn on the agreement as soon as it suits them. We are infidels after all.

L.A. Police Union Urges Members to 'Stand in Solidarity' with SEIU and MoveOn.Org
Without commenting on any particular member of the Protective League's current board of directors, I can describe a process I've observed many times in my career with the LAPD. There are a variety of reasons why a police officer might choose to run for office with the League, but once he wins that office he begins the metamorphosis that changes him from cop to Union Guy. The degree of change varies among individuals, but once in office for some time the League director is almost invariably more recognizable as a Union Guy than as a cop. As proof of this, it's almost unheard of for a League director to leave office voluntarily and resume duties as a police officer. Rather, like the politicians with whom they mingle, they take advantage of their incumbency and cling to their office with the steadfastness of a pope, using the political connections they've made to ease themselves into some comfortable government job once they've retired from the police department. As Jesse Jackson has proved with stunning clarity, mouthing support for the Working Man can be a great way to avoid actually being one.

Which helps to explain how we in the LAPD found ourselves being, yes, encouraged to pick up a picket sign and march alongside a bunch of leftist kooks and government bureaucrats to demand our slice of the pie, this under the dubious theory that these leftist kooks and government bureaucrats can in some way be described as our "brothers and sisters."

#2  Nuclear option. Decertify them. No certification, no auto dues checkoff. Can the Gov legally decert? Dunno, Depends on the contract - inciting to break the law or refuse orders should be there. If not, do it anyway. Ala Reagan and the ATC's.

#3  In an occupation which performs best with the cooperation of the population, really want to go sow suspician of police response based upon political affiliation? Don't peace officers have enough of that already, especially coming from LA? I agree here, the union leaders are hijacking your message for their power gains - sound familiar?

He should be concerned, as the bad guys get the news as well and the image of police more interested in picket's charge than patrolling may get to feeling a bit more bold.

I get what he is saying as KS FF Union call sounded their bell.

#5  Police officers are better than the likes of SEIU and MoveOn.org. SEIU is run by radical leftists and MoveOn.org is George Soros front organization. Standing in solidarity with these organizations puts you in bed with some sleezy characters.
