[PJMedia] Did you know that raccoon attacks are on the rise in Portland, Ore.? No, seriously: the number of, shall we say, negative interactions between raccoons and people is on the uptick. No, they have not joined some leftist militia, and to my knowledge, they are not holding protests, breaking windows, setting fires, shooting guns, or spray painting graffiti on buildings. At least not yet, anyway. And, I hasten to add, we are talking about actual raccoons here, not people who have decided to identify as raccoons. Although, there may be a few of those kicking around Portland. In fact. I’d bet money on it.
The crisis came to my attention via an article in the Oregon Catalyst that also presented video evidence:
The author of the article has an interesting theory. Namely, that the raccoons are hopped up on narcotics. The author notes that Portland sports a plethora of abandoned and damaged buildings due to rising taxes that ran off business owners, the many riots that have plagued the city, and homeless squatters. And, might I add, crime. The point is also made that Portland sports mile after mile of homeless encampments, which are chock full of the very types of goodies that raccoons love and plenty of places in which the little beggars would like to rummage. AND, since Portland has, among its long train of addle-brained and noddle-headed decisions, decriminalized cocaine, there are plenty of leftover drugs for the raccoons to sample.

It sounds like this 'study' began with a set of predetermined outcomes, and 'analyzed' the data accordingly. Not like that's any different than a multitude of other studies performed by governments and universities of late.

Since this is happening in first world countries one might consider another explanation. The 'Greatest Generation' was born during a period when infant mortality was although historically normal was very high in today's perspective. Every generation since then has suffered less and less of the effects of natural selection that occurred before them. That leaves us today with a population that most likely would not have gotten much beyond late adolescent let alone childhood.

Even though the Texas soldier saved the migrants from imminent danger, the Mexican politician claimed the shooting was an affront to his country’s sovereignty.
“They claim that it was to defend a migrant,” Lopez Obrador said. “That the wounded man wanted to hurt a migrant and that is why (the Texas Guardsman) fired, first into the air and then at him.”
However, when the Texas guardsman fired, he violated Mexico’s international rights because they can not fire a weapon across the border, AMLO said.
“We are looking at that,” he said.
The statement from Lopez Obrador confirms a report from Breitbart Texas where U.S. law enforcement sources stated that the guardsman fired when he saw a man with a gun on his waist swinging a machete at a group of migrants that were trying to cross the border.
The Mexican politician said that on Wednesday the wounded Mexican had been released from medical care. Local news outlets in Mexico identified the wounded gunman as 37-year-old Darwin Jose Garcia from Veracruz.
Despite the reason behind the shooting, news outlets in El Paso used the case to criticize the actions of the Texas National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety. In Mexico, the news outlet Aristegui En Linea reported AMLO’s statements. Still, it only used part of the politician’s quote failing to add the comment that the gunman was trying to hurt a migrant.
