-Lurid Crime Tales-
Bush Ties Peace Prize Record
With the selection of the International Committee on Climate Change and Al Gore, Jr., for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, President Bush has moved into the record book for most Peace Prizes awarded to Americans during their presidency.

His Presidency is tied with three others for most Americans winning the Award!

Previous American Presidents to share multiple peace prizes during their Presidency were Ronald Reagan, Richard M. Nixon and…Herbert Hoover.

On a side note, I personally think that Al Gore’s more prize-worthy accomplishment was his invention of the internets, not his advocacy on global-warming. The internet has brought people together and helped to tear down borders in a way that was unimaginable a decade ago when he came up with the idea for a network of tubes connecting computers. Alas, they don’t let me vote!
I know we're not supposed to post other blogs, but this was too good to pass up, if only for the headline. Even more interesting is the cast of Peace Prize winners. It doesn't look like things have changed much since Hoover's time when the award went to Frank Kellogg of the oh-so-successful Kellog-Briand Pact, Jane Addams, bleeding heart social worker, and Nicholas Murray Butler, Nazi sympathising president of Columbia University.

Jimmy Carter: warmongering neocon (who knew?)
"Best of the Web"

eader Martin Shimp parses Jimmy Carter's comments on Iran and comes to a surprising conclusion:

So let's sum this up. According to Mr. Carter, diplomacy consisted of having American diplomats kidnapped and then dispatching a clandestine operation, which entailed invading a sovereign country, to rescue said kidnapped diplomats.

He is worried that the current administration isn't using enough diplomacy with Iran. As I understand it, we currently have Americans being held against their will in Iran. All that's left, I suppose, is for President Bush to invade Iran to complete the circle of Carter-like diplomacy.

This logic seems impeccable. Who knew Jimmy Carter was such a neocon?

#3  During my experiment, I learned that you cannot follow the entire Bible. It’s impossible.

Yup. Sure is. And the "transgress one part of the law, transgress them all" clause is pretty harsh. Good News is, there is a way past that.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Nasrallah blames Israel to protect Damascus
The accusations directed by Hezbollah Secretary General, Hassan Nassrallah at Israel regarding its responsibility for the series of assassinations in Lebanon reminds of the myth that emerged after the September 11 attacks.

Among the same minds addressed by Nasrallah, myth was that the Mossad was behind Osama bin Laden and that the Americans themselves had conspired to kill their own people. Such fantasy is hard for the sane to believe although the Sheikh of Al-Qaeda had served Israeli interests more than Israel would have ever desired by turning all Muslims, and especially Arabs, into permanent suspects.

If Hezbollah had clues and analytical evidence proving that the Mossad was behind the parliamentarians and politicians in Lebanon, why doesn't it cooperate with the international investigation commission and present the information to it? Why would Hezbollah oppose the international tribunal and protest it? Doesn't Israeli crime warrant support from Hezbollah and its allies to the victims?

Why then did Michel Aoun "snap" the seat of late deputy Pierre Gemayel in Al-Maten instead of declaring his support to the Kataeb Party and the martyr's father against the enemy since he refuses to make any accusations at Syria? Or did Nasrallah not feed his ally, the retired general, with the information he had about the assailant?

In a statement issued at the end of last May, just one day after the Security Council passed Resolution 1757 which called for the formation of a tribunal for the assassinations, Hezbollah considered that the resolution threw Lebanon in the storms of international interests and widely opened the doors among international interferences to the extent that Lebanon under the international mandate seems to have lost its independent decision and sovereignty in a manner unprecedented in the history of nations. Hezbollah also considered that the resolution bypassed the Lebanese state and assaulted its internal affairs…an insolent breach that serves the American political project…and a violation of the law and of the UN's chapter, principles and objectives.

Is it not strange for Hezbollah to so severely lead the assault on a resolution that paves the road to condemn its enemy and the enemy of all Arabs? Don't the leaders of March 14 have the right to deduce after Nasrallah's statement that the assassinations will continue since the Mossad stands behind them and since Nasrallah has admitted that he is unable to control Israeli networks because they are operating in areas of Beirut outside his security sphere of influence? Does this statement set the ground for an expansion of Hezbollah's power and in relation to the campaign to arm and train Aoun's supporters? If the accusations are true, why then criticize Saad Al-Hariri's positions in Washington and New York in which he called for a tougher stand on the assassinations to bring the formation and activation of the tribunal up to speed?

Following Nasrallah's latest speech, Syrian newspaper Al-Baath launched an angry campaign on the majority in Lebanon and emphasized that its "hysterical responses" to vindicating Syria "leave no doubts about the intentions of this side to seek further escalation." By the token of the same logic used by Hezbollah's Secretary General, the majority is demanding that Israel murder more of its leaders and sacrifice them to embarrass Damascus, and Israel will certainly not hesitate to accept the invitation!

How to Cope with Global Jihad
Posted by: tipper || 10/12/2007 10:30 || Comments || Link || [7 views] Top|| File under: Global Jihad

#1  Our enemies have figured out they can best fight us by using our 'strength' - our civilized and humane ethos - against us. They may even win that way, but I suspect (and hope) that Zenster is not the only one who does not plan to submit quietly to the end.
At some point, they may say, paraphrasing Yamamoto, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

#2  I don't like the title. There is no coping w/global jihad. You either decide to exterminate it or decide to rollover. I understand that we have to shift tactics - a big no sh*tter - all our mil ldrs know this. However, until our political leaders are truly ready to get down and dirty all this talk is just that. We need to stop giving free passes to terrorist enablers. I'm personally all for wetworx, mis-information campaigns, and extortion of any nation-state that backs a terrorist org. We should have cut the saudi's off at the knees yrs ago.

#3  How is easy. Stop letting Mulsims get away with things big or small.,that we don't allow others to get away with.

Arrest those that incite violence in a mob, rally, or mosque. Uphold the law despite cultural differences. Reevaluate those refugees and immigrants milking the system and rotting it from within and expel them.

And until global Jihad is over limit the number allowed to travel to the West. If they are moderates the Muslim nations need them back home straightening things out. If they are not moderates why in the hell would we want them travelling in the West?

#4  I don't want to "Cope" with Global Jihad, I want to kill it dead.

1. Seal the American borders including the airports, seaports and waterways that make it miserable to those attempting to come in "illegally" without passports and/or visas.

2. Make visas much more tougher to obtain. I could care less about our reputation. I'm like the Milwall Football Club fans, "They don't like us and we don't care".

3. Go to the heart of the matter, the madrassas, the radical mosques, lets kill the message and the message composer first then deal with the messenger.

4. Let loose the dogs of war especially our technology and airpower superiority and nip the Iranian, Syrian, Hezbollah cabal right in the bud now.

5. Make all of this a show of brutal pre-emptive survival vengance. Make sure the muzzies get the message - you are no longer viable but rather you will die if you don't crawl back under the rock from whence you came.

To hell with coping. Ariel has to be a New Yorker.

#5  Well said Jack. I have no interest in coping with global jihad either. I want to see it destroyed one way or another. That is the only way to cope with it.

#6  Jack's item 4, loose the dogs of war....
Reality check is in order; we are in a country which pulled it's best general in the middle of WW2 because he slapped a soldier. There's no hope for leaders in a civilized world unless they are given carte blanch control over forces until the hostilities are concluded by unconditional surrender. I don't see that ever happening within this environment. Dictatorship ? Yes, democracy, no.

#7  MSM & NET > both have well-reported that Jihadist-Islamist now works wid Communist-Maoist; + formerly seeming opposing Socialist camps. i.e. Ultra-Right Fascist + Ultra-Left Communists also now collude, and exclusive of many singular Hardline groups or movements. IOW, THE USA ARE NOT FACING ONLY A "GLOBAL JIHAD" vv Radical Muslims. WOT > The threat to the USA + Free World is not only from Muslim-centric Radical Islamism.

FREEREPUBLIC > VICTOR DAVIS HANSON > believes the USA must either expand our milfor levels to suppor our WOT policies [read - DRAFT]. OR ELSE SCALE/REDUCE BACK OUR COMMITMENTS TO EUROPE, ASIA, AND MIDDLE EAST. * IOW, USA > UNILATERALLY STOP BEING A GLOBAL SUPERPOWER OR HYPERPOWER, aka USA RESISTING US-CENTRIC/DOMINATED OWG-NWO-SWO, sub aka USA "VOLUNTEERS" TO DEGRADE ITSELF TO REGIONAL-LOCAL, THIRD WORLD?, MINOR WORLD POWER STATUS???

WAFF.com/TOPIX NEWS > US COMMANDER DESIRES 40,000 US TROOPS IN EUROPE TO STAY TO COUNTER A "RESURGENT" RUSSIA [read - USSR] ; + PUTIN WARNS MISSLE DEFENSE, FAILURE OF MISSLE TALKS THREATENS US-RUSSIAN RELATIONS. Putin also offers to provide/sale Russian mid-flight BMD-ABM defense
systems to interested nations espc Euros.

HANSON article > may show why MOUD = IRAN believes the era of American power is at or near an end. Amer as a Nationa-Society must effectively suppor its own policies, or it does not thus allowing competitors = "young turks" to step in and replace the USA. SUBSTITUTION OF NATIONS/POWER EXISTED BEFORE 9-11/GWOT, AND DID NOT STOP DUE TO SAME. RADICAL ISLAM > GLOBAL CALIPHATE/ISLAMIC STATE, etc concept > concept/
agenda is broadly intended to stop the "Great Game of Geopolitics" once and forever.

#8  Actually coping is very simple.

1. You advocate Jihad of any kind toward America Israel. Solution: You die.
2. You are a member of a terrorist organization (of any kind) Solution: You die.
3. Your organization donates money to known terrorist groups. Solution: Support of Terror IS terror, you die as does every donating person.
4. Your country supports, protects, trains or harbors terrorists. Solution: Your country dies. Complete scorched earth tactics. All infrastructure destroyed, everything, roads, bridges, power, water treatment, food production and transport, every port, airport and government building gets turned into a crater. Total interdiction of anything moving in or out of the country.
5. Your people gather and chant "Death to America". Solution: See above.
6. Your actions demonstrate aid and comfort to our enemies. Solution: You die.

Eventually, people will learn.

#9  Spot on Jack. I should've mentioned internal security initiatives like stopping immigration from their countries.

Bottomline -- none of our leaders have the nutz...I thought Bush was the man until all the ROP nonsense and weakness wrt the southern border. We've made plenty of mistakes in iraq, unfortunately most were due to lack of boldness and aggression vice the contrary.
