NYPD: Jordan Burnette Arrested In Connection With Synagogue Vandalism and Burglary
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police have made an arrest in what they’re calling a rash of hate crimes in the Bronx.

The NYPD identified the suspect as 29-year-old Jordan Burnette.

Police say they arrested him Saturday morning as he was riding a bike stolen from a synagogue.

"He is being charged with burglary as a hate crime and also faces numerous charges relating to the many acts of vandalism as hate crimes that have taken place in this community," said NYPD Deputy Inspector Jessica Corey, of the Hate Crimes Task Force.

"This has been going on for a few days. This was a department-wide effort," said John Miller, NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism. "Hopefully life will resume back to normal and people will be able to worship without fear."

Mother of Chicago Gunshot Victim Praises Officers Who Saved Her Son
[REDSTATE] Here’s a story the hard left would hate for people to know about. The mother of a 13-year-old boy in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
told news hounds she "can’t praise" two coppers "enough."

On Monday evening, Swaysee Rankin was shot in the back and stomach. Two officers responding to the scene acted quickly to save his life. Fox News reported:

Jackson said the fact that the officers took Rankin to the hospital in their patrol car instead of waiting for an ambulance "saved his life," adding she plans to get their names and badge numbers so she can thank them properly.

Officers Rhonda Ward and Julius Givens, who were patrolling the Southside neighborhood Monday evening, saw Rankin and realized his wounds were too severe to wait for an ambulance so they carried the boy to their patrol car, WLS-TV in Chicago reported.

"I’m highly grateful for you guys. Thank you that was a wonderful job," Swaysee Rankin’s mother, Ashley Jackson said during a presser.

Givens stayed in the back of the vehicle with Rankin to make sure he stayed awake. "He was in and out of consciousness, so we were trying to keep him alive and keep him up," the officer said.

Jackson was relieved to find out that her son did not sustain any long-term injuries and that the family is "praying for a speedy recovery" as he goes through surgery.

"This violence has definitely got to stop immediately," she said, noting that her son’s 14-year-old cousin was also shot. "These kids do not deserve it. These are babies laying in these hospital beds."

Rankin’s cousin is also expected to recover.

Officer Ward stated that "it was just heartwarming for me that I could actually save a life because that’s what I got on this job to do."

Biden's Pentagon Denies Veterans Biker Group a Parking Permit for Memorial Day Event - First Time in 32 Years
[PJ] ABC-7 News in Washington reports the Biden administration has found yet another use for the COVID pandemic.

In South Dakota, Biden’s unity-branded administration is using the pandemic to cancel 4th of July fireworks at Mt. Rushmore. The fact that the pandemic was worse last year, Mt. Rushmore fireworks went forward, and there wasn’t a single case of COVID linked to that event is immaterial.

In the nation’s constitutional capital, which Biden wants to turn into its own state on a par with Texas despite the fact it has fewer people than Austin, Biden’s woke Pentagon has denied AMVETS a parking permit for their Memorial Day ride through the city they put their lives on the line to defend.

COVID is of course the handy excuse.

The Pentagon released the following statement on Friday, leaving the group little time to prepare for an alternative and burying bad news on the weekend:

Utah and Idaho See Population Booming
[nwaonline, hat tip to the Dallas Morning News] Two Western states known for their rugged landscapes and wide-open spaces are bucking the trend of sluggish U.S. population growth, which dipped to the lowest level since the Great Depression, though different forces are powering the population booms in Utah and Idaho.

In Utah, births largely drove the fastest growth in the country over the past decade. In neighboring Idaho, newcomers from California and other states helped it capture the second spot.

For both states, which have long been lightly populated, the expansion comes with rapid economic growth, sparking concerns about strains on infrastructure, rising housing prices and a sharp increase in the cost of living that could threaten the area's quality of life in the long term.

As the states tucked between the Rocky Mountains and the West Coast enter the next decade, leaders will have to wrestle with how to keep the growth rolling without letting costs spiral out of control for individual households or straining the natural resources that help draw people to the area.
Perhaps they can avoid the California model? Maybe learn from it?
The majority of Idaho's growth, about 60%, has been driven by people moving into the state between 2010 and 2019, according to data from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey. One in five of those came from California, many of them retirees seeking lower housing prices and some of the most pristine wilderness in the continental U.S.
Not as many from California as I guessed.
The biggest growth driver in Utah, by contrast, is new births. As home to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a faith that puts a high value on family, Utah has long been among the states with the highest birth rate, largest households and youngest overall population: 31 years old compared with 38 in the U.S. as a whole in 2019.

Afghanistan
Senators Seek Thorough Probe Into Kabul Fire That Killed 9 People
[ToloNews] Senators on Sunday raised questions over recent fires in Kabul, Farah and Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
province that mainly targeted fuel imports, saying there are "some hands behind such incidents" that seek to harm the country’s economy.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs said that nine people were killed and 14 more were maimed in the major fire at a tanker truck station in the Qala-e-Murad Bek area north of Kabul along the key highway that connects the capital city with northern provinces.

At least 60 vehicles, including fuel tanker trucks as well as trucks carrying food and other goods, were completely damaged in the fire that started around 9:00 pm on Saturday.

The Chamber of Trade and Investment said an investigation into the incident has begun, but added that the use of a magnetic bomb is one of the possible reasons for the massive fire.

The chamber estimates the losses of the fire at around $20 million.

The Kabul fire was the fourth in less than three months, following a major fire at Herat customs office and two more at a border town in Farah that shares a border with Iran.
The Kabul fire was the fourth in less than three months, following a major fire at Herat customs office and two more at a border town in Farah that shares a border with Iran.

"Such incidents need a thorough probe to determine whether it was an enemy action," said Mohammad Khan, a senator.

Senators said that one of the reasons can be a lack of attention by government officials in the proper management of the country’s border towns, ports and customs.

"A fire happened at Kabul gate. All these incidents must be probed thoroughly," Senate Speaker Fazl Hadi Moslemyar said.

Following the major fire at the border town of Islam Qala in mid-February, the government vowed to make public its findings on the incident, particularly on how it happened. But senators said the report has not been made public so far.

"There is no one responsible. The culture of impunity has expanded more than in the past," Deputy Senate Speaker Mohammad Alam Ezedyar said.

Eyewitnesses said the fire spread rapidly after it broke out as the fuel tankers were parked very close to each other.

"They went kaboom! one after another in five seconds," said Ghulam Nabi, a fuel truck owner who says his vehicle was burned in the fire.

Other tanker truck owners said they are fed up with the government checkpoints along their way to Kabul as they are stopped for several hours each time they reach the entrance gates of the capital city.

"We were allowed to move at 12:30 pm but we were stopped by the checkpoint. We are devastated," said Najibullah, a truck owner.

"I was asked to give 300 Afs to move. Is it the government?" asked Ghulam Sakhi, owner of a fuel tanker.

Kabul governor Yaqub Haidari said that those who have stopped the vehicles and have made the parking where the fuel tankers were parked should be responsible.

"On what decision was this parking made?" he asked.

Home, Vehicle Owners Protest Over Kabul Fire Damages

[ToloNews] A massive fire that began with a tanker truck carrying fuel in the Shakar Dara district of Kabul along the highway connecting the capital with northern provinces has inflicted heavy damage to vehicles and nearby houses as residents described.

This led to a protest by residents of the area who closed the highway to traffic for many hours on Sunday.

The fire first erupted in a tanker truck that was parked among dozens of others in a line waiting to enter Kabul.

Owners of the fuel tanker trucks said they are often stopped like this by security forces and officials before they enter Kabul. They said it has been one of their main concerns for a long time.

Unconfirmed figures by the residents show that at least 100 houses were damaged in the Qala-e-Murad Bek area. A restaurant, a fuel station, many shops and many vehicles that were passing through have been damaged in the fire.

Unconfirmed figures show that dozens of tanker trucks were burned in the fire.

"We suggested many times to transfer the checkpoint from here, but no one heard our voice, including in the Shakardara district governor’s office," said Jamshid, a resident of Qala-e-Murad Bek.

Other residents said that the government has failed to build a parking slot for the fuel tankers to ensure their safety. Now trucks park in a line near the entrance gate of Kabul.

"This is not a proper place because there are many residential houses around. The (Kabul) governor issued orders many times, but they were not implemented," Shakardara district governor Gawhar Khan Baburi said.

Trucks carrying goods also park near the entrance gate leading into Kabul.

Almost 530K residents in Donbass received Russian citizenship
Direct translation of the article
[TASS] Almost 530 thousand residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics received Russian citizenship in a simplified manner in two years. TASS was informed about this in the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in response to a corresponding request from the agency.

"Since the beginning of the implementation of the presidential decree of April 24, 2019 <...> more than 527 thousand persons permanently residing in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine have acquired Russian citizenship," the press center said.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, almost 2,000 residents of the DPR and LPR refused to acquire Russian citizenship. Thus, 40% of applications were rejected due to the fact that people had restrictions on entry to Russia due to administrative expulsion, deportation, readmission, or in connection with a decision made regarding them that they were undesirable to stay in the Russian Federation. A third of those who have been denied citizenship have an unexpunged or outstanding criminal record. A quarter of applicants for Russian citizenship were not given due to the fact that they advocated a violent change in the foundations of the constitutional system of Russia and pose a threat to security.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the work on the admission of citizens of the DPR and LPR into the citizenship of the Russian Federation continues.

On April 24, 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing residents of the DPR and LPR to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner. Citizenship in a simplified manner will also be eligible for Ukrainians who lived not only in "certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine" (that is, in the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics), but also residents of these regions as a whole. Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan: Images of destruction after border clashes
[BBC] The death toll from recent clashes at a disputed Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border has risen to 46, with hundreds of people injured and dozens of homes destroyed, officials say.

Of those killed, 34 were reported from the Kyrgyz side, the Kyrgyz emergencies ministry said on Sunday, and 12 from the Tajik side.

More than 100 properties - including schools, shops, border checkpoints and a police station - were burned down or vandalised in some of the worst fighting the region has seen in years, the ministry added.

Images captured by the BBC show the extent of the destruction in villages in Kyrgyzstan, with homes blackened by fire, roofs collapsed and some buildings reduced to rubble.

North Korea claims Biden's 'big blunder' creates 'grave situation'

In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...

...... 46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem mschine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family......
"made a big blunder" in his speech to Congress this week — by labeling the hermit kingdom a security threat.

Biden’s remark, in which he described North Korea’s nuclear program as a "serious threat to America’s security and world security," has created "a very grave situation" for the United States, senior North Korean Foreign Ministry official Kwon Jong Gun said Sunday.

"His statement clearly reflects his intent to keep enforcing the hostile policy toward the DPRK as it had been done by the U.S. for over half a century," the official said.

"It is certain that the U.S. chief executive made a big blunder in the light of the present-day viewpoint," Kwon said. "Now that the keynote of the U.S. new DPRK policy has become clear, we will be compelled to press for corresponding measures, and with time the U.S. will find itself in a very grave situation."

Kwon didn’t say what action North Korea would take.

Economy
Silicon Valley Billionaire Sounds The Alarm; Biden's Tax Plan Is About To Wreck Havoc
by Jonathan Davis, via Lucianne

Without any doubt, raising taxes on Americans makes them poorer and never better off, regardless of the justification behind the levy.

But taxes can also be — and have been — used in a punitive way to punish success and reward favored political constituencies.

The Democrats are experts at the latter.

For a half-century, Democrats, when they’ve had enough power to do so, built a ’progressive’ tax structure that prohibited growth and shunted innovation as individuals and corporations alike were kept from realizing their fullest potential.

Donald Trump and Republicans reversed that trend in 2017 with the biggest tax cuts and reforms in a generation. We saw the results: Lower taxes, especially on job-creating corporations, resulted in massive growth and an explosion of domestic investment, driving down unemployment to below 4 percent, lifting all socio-economic boats, and allowed every demographic to become better off.

That was then. Now the Democrats are back in charge again and because they worship big government and prefer their subjects to be servile, obedient, and dependent, they are eying some hefty tax increases that will undo everything put in place by Trump and the GOP.

The hikes will also hinder expansion and job growth, as a noted Silicon Valley billionaire explains, per Breitbart News:

Prominent Silicon Valley billionaire and investor David Stewart tweeted President Joe Biden’s capital gains tax, proposed to be raised about 20 percent, would make it harder for startups to recruit because "the tax system will punish their employees."

"If Biden increases the long-term capital gains tax rate from the current 23.8% up to a new cap of 43.4%, it could neuter America’s entrepreneurial ecosystem," Stewart explained in a Twitter thread.

By the way, capital gains rates kick in when an asset is for gain after being held for a year, Breitbart further explained.

Continuing, Stewart said he "rant the numbers" and found that an employee at Google earning $400k per hear in California "pays 38 percent of income over 10 years in taxes" (which is obscene, by the way, and discriminatory).

Stewart said he "ran the numbers" and determined an employee working at Google earning $400,000 per year in California "pays 38 percent of income over 10 years in taxes."

He went on to write that a startup founder would pay 36 percent of income on $3.9 million over 10 years (still obscene). However, under "Biden’s plan, the Googler’s taxes don’t change but the founder’s rate shoots to 46%!" (which should be unacceptable to anyone).

He adds:

Founders and early employees shoulder pay cuts and increased risk when they leave an established company for a startup. They do this in part because there is the potential for a big payday at the end, at an advantageous capital gains tax rate.

It will be harder for startups to recruit bc the tax system will punish their employees. A Googler making $400k/yr for 10 years will pay less tax vs a startup employee making $100k/year for 9 yrs, plus a $3m payday at year 10, despite the Googler earning more total income.

Today’s tax code effectively incentivizes people to take pay cuts and risks associated with building the next generation of companies. If entrepreneurs start to take home less of their total income vs salaried workers at mature companies, the startup ecosystem will suffer.

This is compounded by highly graduated income tax rates in states like CA, which make no distinction between cap gains and ordinary income. Founders with lumpy income ("exit" years interspersed with lean years) have long paid higher state tax rates vs salaried employees.

Bottom line: Bilking the richest Americans will, again, dampen innovation, stifle growth, and inhibit job creation — because that’s what raising taxes always does.

It doesn’t take a billionaire entrepreneur to figure that out.

Warren Buffett - 'Costs Are Up, Up, Up. We're Seeing Substantial Inflation' As Powell, Yellen See Nothing
[ZERO] We already touched on two of the more colorful exchanges from Saturday's Berkshire annual videoconference, both of which incidentally starred the traditionally far more outspoken Charlie Munger, who first crushed a generation's monetary dreams saying that today's Millennials will have "a hell of a time getting rich compared to our generation", and then infuriated tens of millions of cryptofans and diamond hands (such as Dan Loeb) when he said that "the whole damn development" of crytpocurrencies "is disgusting and contrary to the interests of civilization."

Yet while those two incidents may prompt the most Monday morning watercooler talk, what was most relevant from a macro and markets standpoint was Buffett's observation of something the Fed and Treasury are terrified to admit: that a tidal wave of inflation has been unleashed upon the US and it's only getting worse.

Speaking to Berkshire's millions of shareholders on Saturday, Buffett said that he was surprised by the "red hot" US economic rebound and warned the company was being hit by inflationary pressures.

"We’re seeing very substantial inflation," the 90-year-old billionaire who apparently does not have a Fed charge card, said in his nearly 6 hour long address to investors. But it's what he said that was especially ominous: "It’s very interesting. We’re raising prices. People are raising prices to us and it’s being accepted."

Why does this matter? Because the ability to pass on price increases and have them stick, means the surge in prices will not be transitory, no matter how many times the Biden admin, the Fed or the Treasury lie and vow the opposite.

Buffett's comments came one day after the US revealed that household incomes rose by the most in recorded history in March as the latest round of Biden stimmies hit bank accounts.

If the government takes 10 percent of your income its called taxes. If the government cheapens (re:debases) the currency so that it has 10% less value its call 'inflation'. The effect is the same.

#4  Easily our nation's best and most experienced economist is Larry Summers. He's not very conservative, and he just ripped the Biden admin's economic policies to shreds in a long interview with Martin Wolf of the Financial Times. Larry Summers says this is a repeat of the mistakes of the Johnson Admjnistration and that, yes, we're going back to the 1970s -- inflation and recession together.

This FT interview's behind the paywall, so here are some choice bits -- note the math. Summers says that the Biden advisors aren't even bothering g to do the math anymore. In short, the sums being spent are so wildly out of line with even liberal Keynesian analysis as to constitute a fraud:

Larry Summers: If you look at the economy at the beginning of this year, prevailing forecasts were that Covid would reduce wages and salaries to American households by $20bn-$30bn a month, with that figure declining over the year.

So, that would be a $250bn-$300bn hole in wages and salaries over the course of the year. So, I look at this hole and then I see $900bn of stimulus in the December package, $1.9tn of stimulus in the recently passed package and $2tn in the savings overhang, which is also likely to be spent.

I see the Fed with its foot on the accelerator as hard as any Fed has ever done.

I see serious discussion of trillions of dollars more in fiscal stimulus, along with the explanation that this latest package is not temporary Covid relief, but a harbinger of a major transformation in social policy, which suggests that at least some of it will be continued indefinitely.

So, I look at that dwindling hole. Then I look at expenditures that aren’t hard to add into the multiple trillions, and I see substantial risk that the amount of water being poured in vastly exceeds the size of the bathtub.

That could manifest itself, as a much smaller period of excess did during the Vietnam war, in rising inflation and a ratcheting-up of inflation expectations. It could, as has often happened, manifest itself in the Federal Reserve feeling a need for a sharp and surprising increase in interest rates, and the subsequent deceleration of the economy into recession. It could manifest itself in a period of euphoric boom and optimism that leads to unsustainable bubbles, or it could all work out well.

But, it doesn’t seem to me that the preponderant probability is that it will work out well. So I’m concerned that what is being done is substantially excessive.

Martin Wolf: Joe Biden’s $1.9tn package is a risky experiment.

Larry Summers: Now, when we’re talking about fiscal stimulus totalling 14 per cent of GDP in its first round, when we’re also talking about extraordinary monetary measures, structural effects of Covid — notably a large savings overhang — it seems to me that we are way overdoing the requisite response. I always thought of economics as a quantitative field and when I hear people talk about why this is the right thing to do, they say things like “we really need to go big”, or “the 2009 stimulus was too small”.

It seems to me one needs to link the scale of the problem with the magnitude of the response. I look at the response and I look at the scale of the problem and I can’t see how it adds up. There’s not much argument that the 2009 stimulus, in retrospect, was too small. It was 4 to 5 per cent of GDP over a couple of years, so it was 2.5 per cent of GDP in the first year, against a gap that was 6 or 7 per cent of GDP and growing, so it was perhaps a third or half of that gap.

Today’s stimulus is above 10 per cent of GDP in the face of a gap that is 3 or 4 per cent of GDP. Relative to the gap, this stimulus is already of the order of five or six times as large as in 2009. Not even the most extravagant critics of the 2009 stimulus have suggested it should have been six times as large.

I would say one other thing. In...the 2009 stimulus, there were important investments in electronic medical records, new green venture capital and research-type measures, extending broadband and infrastructure repair and investment.

What’s striking about today is that all of the trillions of dollars — all of it — does not include a penny directed at building back better. I could have been comfortable with a headline figure well in excess of $1.9tn if it had been a large-scale, multiyear programme of public investment responding to our deepest societal concerns.

But that’s not what this is. It transfers to state and local governments that don’t have any new budget problem, according to the latest figures. It’s paying people, who have been unemployed, more in unemployment insurance than they earned when they were working. It’s giving cheques to families in the 90th percentile of income distribution. It doesn’t seem prudent on resource allocation grounds, as
well as being problematic on macroeconomic grounds

Some January 6 'Rioters' May Not See Prision Time
[Ay Pee, hat tip to the Dallas Morning News] More than 400 people have been charged with federal crimes in the Jan. 6 so-called attack on the Capitol. But prison time may be another story.
Firing squads?
With new defendants still flooding into Washington's federal court, the Justice Department is under pressure to quickly resolve the least serious of cases.
Shouldn't they always 'quickly resolve' cases? Or is there some pressure to 'Michael Flynn' the defendants?
While defendants charged with crimes such as conspiracy and assaulting officers during the so-called insurrection could be looking at hefty sentences, some members of the so-called mob who weren't caught joining in the violence or destruction could see little to no time behind bars.

"The people who were just there for the ride and somewhat clueless, I think for most of them they probably will not get prison time. And for what it’s worth, I think that’s appropriate," said Rachel Barkow, a professor at the New York University School of Law. "Having a misdemeanor on their record, going through all this is probably a pretty big wake-up call for most of the folks," she said.
Her opinion is based on what? And why does her opinion matter?
The siege was like nothing the country had ever seen since the larger, longer anti-Trump riots in 2017, as the mob of supporters of then-President Donald Trump descended on the Capitol to stop the congressional certification of Joe Biden's election victory.
Even Ashli Babbitt thought it unlikely the certification would be stopped, but the Dems defined the crime.
But in the months since, Trump loyalists have worked to minimize the assault, while Democrats and others want justice for what they saw as a crime against democracy and the rule of law.
Unlike the George Floyd mostly-peaceful rioting, looting, and burning.
After Trump's impeachment by the House resulted in an acquittal by the Senate, these criminal cases are one possible route for justice.
Justice, or (D) vengeance? Or just a hard lesson for the proles?
It's a formidable task for lawyers and judges alike to determine the appropriate punishment to seek and hand down. Many defendants had steady jobs and no criminal records, factors typically rewarded with leniency in the criminal justice system.
Like Michael Flynn. Or Ashli Babbitt.

Chinese Leader Xi Jinping Lays out Plan to Control the Global Internet: Leaked Documents
[Epoch Times via InstaPundit] Chinese leader Xi Jinping personally directed the communist regime to focus its efforts to control the global internet, displacing the influential role of the United States, according to internal government documents recently obtained by The Epoch Times.

In a January 2017 speech, Xi said the "power to control the internet" had become the "new focal point of [China’s] national strategic contest," and singled out the United States as a "rival force" standing in the way of the regime’s ambitions.

The ultimate goal was for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to control all content on the global internet, so the regime could wield what Xi described as "discourse power" over communications and discussions on the world stage.

Xi articulated a vision of "using technology to rule the internet" to achieve total control over every part of the online ecosystem—over applications, content, quality, capital, and manpower.

His remarks were made at the fourth leadership meeting of the regime’s top internet regulator, the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, in Beijing on Jan. 4, 2017, and detailed in internal documents issued by the Liaoning Provincial Government in China’s southeast.

The statements confirm efforts made by Beijing in the past few years to promote its own authoritarian version of the internet as a model for the world.

In another speech given in April 2016, detailed in an internal document by the Anshan City Government in Liaoning Province, Xi confidently proclaimed that in the "struggle" to control the internet, the CCP has transformed from playing "passive defense" to playing both "attack and defense" at the same time.

Having successfully built the world’s most sprawling and sophisticated online censorship and surveillance apparatus, known as the Great Firewall, the CCP under Xi is turning outwards, championing a Chinese internet whose values run counter to the open model advocated by the West. Rather than prioritizing the free flow of information, the CCP’s system centers on giving the state the ability to censor, spy on, and control internet data.

Countering the US

The Chinese leader acknowledged the regime lagged behind its rival the United States—the dominant player in this field—in key areas such as technology, investments, and talent.

To realize its ambitions, Xi emphasized the need to "manage internet relations with the United States," while "making preparations for fighting a hard war" with the country in this area.

American companies should be used by the regime to reach its goal, Xi said, without elaborating on how this would be done.

He also directed the regime to increase its cooperation with Europe, developing countries, and member states of Beijing’s "Belt and Road Initiative," to form a "strategic counterbalance" against the United States.
Three-pronged Strategy

Xi ordered the regime to focus on three "critical" areas in its pursuit of controlling the global internet.

First, Beijing needs to be able to "set the rules" governing the international system. Second, it should install CCP surrogates in important positions in global internet organizations. Third, the regime should gain control over the infrastructure that underlies the internet, such as root servers, Xi said.
Thanks Barack, you commie bastard, for relinquishing US control of DNS root servers.

#4  There's nothing top secret about this. Jinping has stated repeatedly that China must break western control over not only the internet, which is just the medium but also over the ideation process of collective knowledge and sources of information.

And they haven't started this today. They have been 'buying' western academics [also Asian academics], recruiting mass entertainers, infiltrating advertising, news, academia, everything to do with information. Their rationale is: When every source of data will be pro China and anti America, what good will any amount of regulation or diplomatic outrage do? And it has worked. Not as envisioned maybe, but like everything built by China does.

#7  ^ Maybe. They're all soft bellies, these leaders who maintain their trust in democracy, courts, legislation, debate. The only thing that props them up is peoples' wishful thinking. When hope is assaulted by despair and the men are shown floundering, confidence in them wavers and the Left takes care of the rest.

#8  They have been 'buying' western academics [also Asian academics], recruiting mass entertainers, infiltrating advertising, news, academia, everything to do with information.

Don't forget politicians, like Biden. If our politicians and business leaders had any guts, China would have been cut off from the Internet from the git go. Nixon and Kissinger knew that Mao was a mass murdering bastard and his henchmen in the CCP are all evil. You can never trust such people to play by the rules or abide by any agreements. We never should have sold them any computers, let alone letting them manufacture all of our computers. I'd like to believe that Nixon wouldn't have gone along with all that but we know that Kissinger has been a primary instigator and promoter of trade with China. If the megalomaniac Xi Jinping is successful in his ambitions it will be the fault of traitors in our country.
