Great White North
Canada PM Trudeau says no decision yet on funding for UN Palestinian refugee agency
Backing away from previous statements? Someone must have been loudly unhappy to stop the usual Justin Trudeau posturing.
[GEO.TV] Canadian Prime Minister Justin Kim Jong Trudeau
...hereditary prime minister of the Great White North...
on Thursday said Ottawa had not decided whether it would resume funding to the UN Paleostinian refugee agency after Israel levelled allegation that some staff had been involved in the October 7 Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
attacks.

Earlier this week the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and News Agency that Dare Not be Named cited unnamed government sources as saying Canada would reverse its Jan 26 decision to pause any additional funding to the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
Relief and Works Agency for Paleostine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

But Trudeau, asked directly whether this was the case, said Ottawa was waiting for the results of an internal United Nations probe into the Israeli allegations that 12 UNRWA staff had been involved in the attacks.

"We're not making any announcements today ... we will continue to look at this situation. We will continue to watch the UN as it looks into what's happening within this organization," he told news hounds in Toronto.

A total of 16 donors, including the United States and Britannia, have paused their funding to UNRWA.

"The ongoing humanitarian crisis and disaster in Gazoo

is heart-wrenching for everyone. We know how important it is to get aid into Gaza," said Trudeau, saying people in the enclave faced starvation. Local Gaza health officials say almost 31,000 people have died in Israel's offensive.

Rep. Lauren Boebert Introduces the Build the Wall and Deport Them All Act
[Breitbart] Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) crafted a straightforward plan to end the catastrophic border crisis created by President Joe Biden.

The Colorado Congresswoman introduced the Build the Wall and Deport Them All Act Friday. The bill codifies many Donald Trump-era policies and might be the perfect contrast to the border policies offered by Biden during his State of the Union address to the nation the night before.

Boebert’s bill would end catch-and-release, restart border wall construction, prohibit federal funds for sanctuary cities, expedite the removal of illegal aliens, and restore Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy. It would also prohibit the removal of border barriers constructed by states along the border to prevent unlawful crossings and end birthright citizenship.

Laken Riley’s murder last month, allegedly by a Venezuelan national, has ignited national fury over the horrific consequences of Biden’s border policies. Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released Riley’s accused killer, illegal alien Jose Antonio Ibarra of Venezuela, into the United States interior in September 2022. And after being apprehended in 2023 for additional crimes, Ibarra was released by a sanctuary city.

Gold Star Father Given Hero's Welcome by Gold Star Families After He's Released by Authorities for Protesting Joe Biden at SOTU (VIDEO)
[Gateway] On Thursday night, Capitol Police officers arrested Gold Star father Steve Nikoui, whose son, Marine Lance Col. Kareem Nikoui who was killed in the terrorist attack on Abbey Gate at the Kabul Airport.

On August 21, 2021, during Joe Biden’s retreat from Afghanistan, suicide bomber Abdul Rehman killed 173 afghans and 13 American servicemen and women at the Kabul Airport.

The Afghan civilians were trying to flee the triumphant Taliban who had taken Kabul following Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from the country. It was the most humiliating retreat by the United States in history.

Steve Nikoui was immediately arrested and put in handcuffs by security at the Capitol Thursday night after he heckled Biden about the attack during his State of the Union address.

Listeners heard Nikoui call out "United States Marines!" and "Abbey Gate!" among other things in the brief outburst. Nikoui was reportedly charged with a misdemeanor.

Matisyahu Canceled in Chicago over ‘Threat of Protests'; Donates Proceeds to Israeli Hostages
[Breitbart] Matisyahu, the Jewish reggae legend, has again been forced to cancel a sold-out concert — this time at the House of Blues in Chicago, which called off a Friday show due to the “threat of protests.”

Matisyahu said that his security team did not believe there was a threat, but that House of Blues had canceled the show and paid the penalty. He added that he would be donating the proceeds to an organization that advocates for the Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

The Chicago is the third that Matisyahu has been forced to cancel due to anti-Israel (and antisemitic) protests. As Breitbart News reported in February:

Anti-Israel staff at venues in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Tucson, Arizona, forced the cancelation this week of sold-out shows by Matisyahu, the Jewish reggae sensation.

Matisyahu’s songs emphasize hopes for peace and unity. He has been openly and proudly pro-Israel, especially in the wake of the October 7 terror attacks, and has performed for Israeli troops.

Matisyahu burst onto the music scene more than a decade ago, when he was deeply observant in the Hasidic Jewish tradition. He is still observant but no longer strictly so. He has worked with artists from a variety of backgrounds, including Bruno Mars and Akon.

In his statement on the Chicago cancelation, Matisyahu said: “While my fans and I are deeply hurt by this, please know we will not cower to these bullies and the pressure they exert. … These individuals and the organizations that break under their pressure threaten the bedrock of artistic expression … We will continue to play shows. And we will always stand tall against hate and march towards the true goal of a long term peace for all.”

Ex-Honduras president who moved embassy to Jerusalem convicted in US court for drug trafficking
[IsrelTimes] A jury in New York has found former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernandez guilty of trafficking hundreds of tons of cocaine into the United States.

Hernandez, 55, who US federal prosecutors say turned his Central American country into a "narco-state" during his presidency in 2014-2022, faces a potential sentence of up to life in prison.
Did he? I must have missed that.
Sentencing will take place at a later date.

Hernandez is accused of having facilitated the smuggling of some 500 tons of cocaine — mainly from Colombia and Venezuela
...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south...
— to the United States via Honduras since 2004, starting long before his presidency.

Hernandez used the drug money to enrich himself and finance his political campaign, and commit electoral fraud in the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections, prosecutors said.

He was extradited to the United States in 2022, accused of aiding drug smugglers in return for millions of dollars in bribes.

With the guilty verdict, Hernandez follows in the footsteps of other former Latin American heads of state convicted in the United States, like Panama’s Manuel Noriega in 1992 and Guatemala’s Alfonso Portillo in 2014.

As president, he moved Honduras’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in 2021.

'Zardari to take care of you as he does of me', Bilawal assures Punjab lawmakers
[GEO.TV] In a bid to woo Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentarians ahead of the presidential poll, Pakistain Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has assured that his father Asif Ali Ten Percent Zardari
...former president of Pakistain, husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, who has been singularly lacking in curiosity about who done her in...
, who is poised to become the next president of Pakistain, will take care of Punjab’s politicians as he does of him.

With the ruling coalition on the same page regarding Zardari as the joint candidate, the presidential election is set to take place in the assemblies tomorrow (Saturday).

Speaking to the members of the PML-N-dominated Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Assembly, Bilawal said that he was there to ask the parliamentarians to vote for his father in the March 9 presidential election.

"Asif Ali Zardari will take care of you as he takes care of me," he said while heaping praise on the seasoned politician, who will serve the president’s post for the second time if he wins.

Bilawal, the former foreign minister, said that Zardari "meets everyone like he meets his own party's representatives".

The young politician said that the position of the president is a representative of the Centre — the federal government.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz thanked Bilawal, saying that her party politicians would have voted for Zardari, who is the jointly agreed candidate of coalition partners, even if the PPP chairman hadn’t asked for it.

Maryam, the first woman chief executive of the province, also said that the PML-N and the PPP were competitors in the general elections but serious parties put aside their differences for the betterment and interest of the country.

"Asif Ali Zardari is our presidential candidate. All of us will vote [for him] tomorrow," she added.

Iraq donates $25 million to UNRWA
[RUDAW] Iraq on Wednesday announced it had allocated $25 million to the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
Relief and Works Agency for Paleostine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), after donors froze funding over allegations of some of its employees being involved in the October 7 attack on Israel.

The UN agency has been shrouded in controversy since Israel began accusing its employees of complicity in the October 7 attack by Paleostinian Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
hard boyz on the country that killed 1,160, which sparked a deadly war that has so far killed over 30,000 Paleostinians in Gazoo

Following Israel’s allegations, big UNRWA donors such as the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany suspended funding to the agency. The total amount of frozen funds - around $450 million — was half of UNRWA’s total funding in 2023.

In a speech at the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced "a decision by the Iraqi Council of Ministers to allocate an amount of $25 million" to the agency "out of its belief in the importance of the agency’s efforts to alleviate the burdens of the Paleostinian people by providing medical and relief supplies, which had become a necessity," Iraq’s foreign ministry said.

Hussein called on other countries to support UNRWA for the "continuation of life" in the Paleostinian territories.

Iraq is a staunch supporter of the Paleostinian cause and has on several occasions condemned the lack of global support for justice for Paleostinians.

During the meeting, Hussein reaffirmed "Iraq’s position in supporting the steadfastness of the Paleostinian people who face policies of Dire Revenge and collective punishment at the hands of the Israeli entity’s army in Gaza on a daily basis."

Footage indicates Iranian Red Crescent has established shelters in Gaza for displaced Palestinians

, recent footage uncovered by the Kan public broadcaster reveals.

The footage shows the Iranian flag plastered on a sign hung at one of the shelters where food was being distributed to children.
"Where did all this fresh dirt come from?"
The president of the Iranian Red Islamic Thingy has claimed that his organization has donated tens of thousands of tons of food and medical equipment to Gaza since the outbreak of the war.

In November, Arabic media reported that Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi rejected a request from his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi for Tehran to donate aid to Gaza, as Cairo feared the Islamic Theocratic Republic would use this to gain a foothold in the enclave. The recent footage raises questions regarding the accuracy of that reporting.

Hamas official: Freed hostage got plastic surgery, thinking she wasn’t pretty enough to have been assaulted
Vile.
[Times Of Israel] Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan in an interview with the Hezbollah-linked Mayadeen TV said yesterday that one of the Israeli hostages underwent plastic surgery after her release because she thought she might not have been attractive enough to have been sexually assaulted.

Hamdan blasted the report compiled by the United Nation’s envoy on sex crimes, which indicated that rape and gang rape likely occurred during the October 7 Hamas onslaught against southern Israel, that “clear and convincing” evidence shows that hostages were raped while being held in Gaza and that those currently held captive are still facing such abuse.

“The UN report has three essential problems that necessitate the dismissal of [UN envoy Pramila Patten] who published it,” Hamdan said, according to translations from the Middle East Media Research Institute.

“The first problem is that the report is not based on any evidence. The second issue is that only the Israeli narrative was heard, not the counter-narrative, which includes many details about what happened – none of those were adopted,” Hamdan said.

“The third scandal is that what was written in the report is the opposite of the facts. She wrote that the Israeli women who were taken captive by the resistance were [sexually assaulted].”

“When these women were released, they said themselves that they were not attacked. I can say as an anecdote that one of them underwent cosmetic surgery because she thought that she was not assaulted because she was not pretty enough. In other words, they say one thing, and then the committee says the opposite. This is a scandal in the halls of the UN,” Hamdan said, without citing any proof for his allegations.

UNRWA report says Israel coerced some agency employees to falsely admit Hamas links

from Israeli detention reported having been pressured by Israeli authorities into falsely stating that the agency has Hamas

links and that staff took part in the October 7 attacks.

UNRWA fired 12 staffers earlier this year following allegations from Israel that they actively participated in Hamas’s terror onslaught.

The assertions are contained in a report by UNRWA reviewed by Rooters and dated February 2024, which detailed allegations of mistreatment in Israeli detention made by unidentified Paleostinians, including several working for UNRWA.

UNRWA communications director Juliette Touma says the agency planned to hand the information in the 11-page, unpublished report to agencies inside and outside the UN specialized in documenting potential human rights

abuses.

"When the war comes to an end there needs to be a series of inquiries to look into all violations of human rights," she says.

The document says several UNRWA Paleostinian staffers were tossed into the calaboose by the Israeli army, and added that the ill-treatment and abuse they said they had experienced included severe physical beatings, waterboarding, and threats of harm to family members.

"Agency staff members have been subject to threats and coercion by the Israeli authorities while in detention, and pressured to make false statements against the Agency, including that the Agency has affiliations with Hamas and that UNRWA staff members took part in the 7 October 2023 atrocities," the report says.

UNRWA declined a Rooters request to see transcripts of its interviews containing allegations of coerced false confessions.

In addition to the alleged abuse endured by UNRWA staff members, Paleostinian detainees more broadly described allegations of abuse, including beatings, humiliation, threats, dog attacks, sexual violence, and deaths of detainees denied medical treatment, the UNRWA report says.

Biden says Israel will secure new Gaza pier but forgot to ask Israel; Pentagon: It may take 2 months to build
[IsraelTimes] Goal is to deliver 2 million daily meals; 1,000 US soldiers set to be involved, but no boots on the ground; Israel welcomes project but hasn’t confirmed it will provide security

US President Joe The Big Guy Biden

war.

In his State of the Union speech Thursday night, Biden said the US military mission to build the temporary port will not require any American boots on the ground. Senior administration officials briefing news hounds on the project before his speech, however, said that US military personnel would be operating in vessels along the shore, though they won’t be docking.

Israeli officials have yet to confirm Israel will be in charge of securing the port, though they did welcome Biden’s announcement of the maritime corridor for aid.

The Pentagon on Friday predicted the temporary port project will take "likely up to 60 days" in planning and execution, adding that the US eventually aims to provide 2 million meals to Gazooks daily.

The process may involve 1,000 US forces, but those troops will not be deploying troops ashore — even temporarily to anchor the dock to the beach, said Pentagon spokesperson Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder.

The spokesperson said there was no cost estimate yet. He said the US was also talking to NGOs, aid groups and the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
on how aid will be delivered.

A widening humanitarian crisis across Gaza and tight Israeli control of aid trucks have left virtually the entire population desperately short of food, according to the United Nations. Officials have been warning for months that Israel’s siege and offensive were pushing the Hamas-run Paleostinian territory into famine. Israel says it has made much more aid available than the UN has proved capable of delivering.
Obesity cured!
Biden has become increasingly public about his frustration with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu government’s unwillingness to open more land crossings for aid to make its way into Gaza.
“We’re in the middle of a war here, bub. We’ll get to you when we have a moment.”
In his address on Thursday, he called on the Israelis to do more to alleviate the suffering even as they try to eliminate Hamas.

In addition to the planned pier, the US began airdropping aid into Gaza last week as part of the administration’s humanitarian efforts.

Biden was asked Friday about his revelation after the State of the Union — caught on a hot mic — that he told Netanyahu that they need to have a "Come to Jesus" chat. "You guys eavesdropping on things," he told news hounds. Asked if the remarks showed his level of frustration with Netanyahu regarding the lack of humanitarian aid in Gaza and whether he needs to do more, Biden answered, "Yes, he does."

Biden, speaking to news hounds after visiting a family at their home near Philadelphia, also said he was concerned about violence in Jerusalem without a truce.

Hamas’s military wing earlier Friday urged supporters to mobilize toward the al-Aqsa Mosque at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City, a flashpoint for violence during Ramadan in past years, including in 2021 when Hamas rocket fire at the Israeli capital triggered the previous war in Gaza.
The idea for a marine humanitarian corridor into Gaza has been floated for years, but never got off the ground due to Israeli reticence and concerns that the existing Gaza City fishing port isn’t equipped for docking large ships. The US made a renewed push for the corridor establishment following last week’s deadly mass-casualty incident where dozens of Palestinians were killed trying to collect aid in northern Gaza.

Believing that the best way to ensure civilians receive aid is by flooding the strip with assistance by land, air and sea, the US has airdropped food over Gaza three times since Saturday, and will over the coming weeks begin work to establish a causeway facility off the coast of Gaza that will be able to receive large ships carrying hundreds of truckloads of food, water, medicine and temporary shelters each day, according to the administration officials.

The US is coordinating with Israel to ensure its security concerns are met and with the UN and humanitarian organizations on the ground in order to ensure that the aid is properly distributed.

Initial shipments will arrive to the port via Cyprus’s Larnaca Port, where they will ostensibly undergo security inspections.

It will take “a number of weeks” to get the temporary pier built and running, one of the officials briefing reporters said, adding that the US hopes that the port will turn into “a commercially operated facility over time.”

“We’re not waiting on the Israelis. This is a moment for American leadership, and we are building a coalition of countries to address this urgent need,” one of the senior officials says.

Follow-up on Gaza cargo drop, including 4th US airdrop
Follow up to this story from yesterday, and see the comments here.
[MAIL] Five civilians were crushed to death by the multi-nation Gaza airdrop after a parachute carrying one of the parcels failed to deploy.

'We express our condolences to the families of those who were killed,' a spokesperson said. 'Our understanding is that this was not a U.S. airdrop.
“Someone else dunnit — dunno who.”
'As we said earlier this week, these are complex and tough missions to do because so many parameters have to be exactly right. We always learn from these incidents and try to improve.

'We take every reasonable precaution to avoid injuries, including limiting the weight of the pallets, identifying drop-zones in less-populated areas, and the sending of safety messages to the population prior to the air drop.'

Maritime corridor to Gaza from Cyprus could start this weekend, says EU president
It might make the war last a bit longer, but it will definitely keep the usual “Yes, but” crowd happily occupied with something other than joggling Israel’s elbow.
[GEO.TV] European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she expected a maritime aid corridor to start operating between Cyprus and Gazoo

The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. this weekend, taking desperately needed aid to besieged Paleostinians.

Von der Leyen said a pilot test run of food aid collected by a charity group and supported by the United Arab Emirates could be leaving Cyprus as early as Friday from the port of Larnaca in Cyprus.

"We are launching this Cyprus maritime corridor together, the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States," Von der Leyen said after a visit to facilities in Cyprus.

"We are now very close to opening this corridor, hopefully this Saturday-Sunday and I'm very glad to see an initial pilot will be launched today," she said alongside Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.

One aid group, World Central Kitchen (WCK), is currently gathering food supplies in Larnaca for the people of Gaza, with support from the UAE.

Iran waging ‘draconian campaign’ against women through hijab law: Amnesty
[Rudaw] Iranian authorities are subjecting women to "draconian" punishments through surveillance and mass car confiscations to impose compulsory hijab laws, Amnesia Amnesty International said on Wednesday.

"Iranian authorities are waging a large-scale campaign to inforce repressive compulsory veiling laws through widespread surveillance of women and girls in public spaces and mass police checks targeting women drivers," Amnesty said in a report, based on testimonies from over 40 women ahead of the International Women’s Day.

The Islamic republic was shaken by mass countrywide protests after 22-year-old Kurdish woman Zhina (Mahsa) Amini died while in jug of its so-called morality olice on September 16, 2022.

Amini had been arrested for wearing a lax hijab. Her death sparked nationwide protests that posed the biggest threat to the Iranian regime in 40 years. Protestors chanting "Jin Jiyan Azadi" (Woman Life Freedom) began by calling for greater freedoms, the movement grew into an anti-government revolution as authorities responded with violence. Hundreds of people were killed and thousands arrested.

The protests saw women publicly condemn the strict dress code but authorities have remained clear about their intentions to not abandon the compulsory hijab, put in place in 1983, around four years after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

"In a sinister attempt to wear down resistance to compulsory veiling in the wake of the ’Woman Life Freedom’ uprising, Iran’s authorities are terrorizing women and girls by subjecting them to constant surveillance and policing, disrupting their daily lives and causing them immense mental distress," said Diana Eltahawy, Amnesty’s Deputy Director for the Middle East and North Africa.

"Their draconian tactics span from stopping women drivers on the road and carrying out mass confiscations of their vehicles to imposing flogging and prison sentences," Eltahawy stressed.

According to the report, Iranian police regularly confiscate the cars of female drivers or passengers without or in "inappropriate" headscarves. The surveillance is carried out by cameras or plainclothes agents through police app Nazer to report license plates of drivers violating the hijab law.

Those caught are then contacted and ordered to report to the police to hand over their vehicles as punishment. In many cases, the cars are released after 15 to 30 days, once arbitrary payment fees are settled.

According to the testimonials, the process to retrieve the vehicles is long and involves "degrading treatment from officials including gender-based insults and reprimands about the appearance of women and girls as young as nine" with "threats of flogging, imprisonment, and travel bans."

The women also told Amnesty that they are regularly denied access to public transport, airports, and banking services without wearing a headscarf.

In January, Iranian woman Roya Heshmati was sentenced to 74 lashes after appearing unveiled in public, Amnesty said.

In September 2023, Iran’s parliament approved the "Bill to Support the Culture of Chastity and Hijab," which would grant security forces additional powers to further crack down on violators of the compulsory hijab.

The bill is awaiting the approval of the Guardian Council to be signed into law.
