Fetterman wins over some conservative critics after taking on 'Squad' and progressives on Israel, migration
[NewsFinale] In an unlikely transformation since he took office more than a year ago, Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is receiving praise from some conservatives and criticism from those within his own party for his position on a variety of issues that have dominated news headlines.

Fetterman, whose 2022 campaign to serve as a senator for the Keystone State rattled a majority of conservatives, appears to be making inroads with those of different political beliefs around the country by bucking a handful of the ideas espoused by his colleagues who sit on the same side of the aisle.

His opposition to some efforts pushed by the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, which has become increasingly visible since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists, has led some conservatives to question how he went from a candidate they despised to a senator they can relate to.

On Israel, for instance, the senator has made his position very clear amid the war-torn country’s battle with Hamas terrorists. He will support Israel at all costs, even when other members of his party won’t.

Fetterman has also made heads spin within his own party when it comes to the issue of immigration and his criticism of New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez, who faces federal charges for allegedly acting as a foreign agent and accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes to benefit the Egyptian government through his power and influence as a senator.

The senator’s position on Israel differs greatly from that of several progressive Democrats in the House and Senate and was reaffirmed earlier this week when Fetterman spoke at a leadership luncheon hosted by the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center in Washington, D.C.

He questioned why those who targeted Israel through demonstrations around the United States and the world are not “protesting Hamas.”

“They’re blocking tunnels, they’re blocking roads,” Fetterman said. “Why? Why aren’t they protesting, ‘When will we get the hostages back home?’ Why aren’t they protesting Hamas? Why aren’t they protesting systemic rape and torture of Israeli women and children?

“I don’t get it.”

The senator also criticized South Africa for bringing a genocide case against Israel in the United Nations’ International Court of Justice, saying the African nation should focus on quelling unrest on its own continent and “sit this one out.”

Fetterman’s position on the war differs greatly from that of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who urged his colleagues this month to reject the more than $10 billion in military funding for Israel that is being considered amid what he considers to be Israeli forces’ “grossly disproportionate” and “immoral” response to Hamas terrorists.

Referring to the rapes and atrocities committed against Israel, Fetterman said Wednesday, “I have a 12-year-old daughter. If someone did that to my daughter, would you want me to sit down at a table and negotiate with them? Never. I would never ask for Israel to do that as well.”

Taking his support for Israel further, Fetterman said the country has the right to fully take on Hamas and noted that every Hamas terrorist that is killed is “one more step” toward peace.

Recognizing the “blowback” he has received from some members of his party for his support for Israel, Fetterman said, “Great. I welcome the smoke then.”

During an interview with NBC News last month, Fetterman said, “I’m not a progressive. I just think I’m a Democrat that is very committed to choice and other things. But with Israel, I’m going to be on the right side of that. And immigration is something near and dear to me, and I think we do have to effectively address it as well.”

Though he’s pro-immigration, Fetterman has recently distanced himself from those within his party who oppose policies — like reforms on asylum — that would significantly reduce the increasing number of migrants arriving at the southern border each day.

“It’s a reasonable conversation — until somebody can say there’s an explanation on what we can do when 270,000 people are being encountered on the border, not including the ones, of course, that we don’t know about,” Fetterman told the outlet. “To put that in reference, that is essentially the size of Pittsburgh, the second-largest city in Pennsylvania.”

Egypt establishes new security measures along ‘Philadelphi Route’ to reduce Israeli pressure for control
[IsraelTimes] Egypt is taking steps to reduce the pressure from Israel to take over control of the so-called Philadelphi Route in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip, which runs for 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) along the enclave’s border with Egypt, Arabic-language news outlet al-Araby al-Jadeed reports.

An Egyptian source tells the news outlet that the Egyptian army has already started carrying out new security measures "including conducting security patrols along the border by special operations forces to ensure that there are no activities that threaten security in that area."
And of course none of the Egyptian SOF soldiers are sympathetic to the Hamas cause of killing all the Jews, right? Not at all like the Egyptian GI who tucked his Koran in his pocket, unlocked the security fence, went through, and commenced killing IDF troops on the other side.
Israel has asked Cairo to let the IDF control the key Gaza-Egypt border road after the war, saying that this will prevent weapons from being smuggled into the coastal enclave, a request that has reportedly been soundly rejected.

The Egyptian source tells al-Araby al-Jadeed that the country has sought to coordinate on the issue with Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
and various other terror groups in Gaza, and has obtained "assurances that the Philadelphi Route area should be free of any resistance actions, to block the way for Israeli attempts to be present in that region."
That fatal Egyptian charm, I guess. If only they’d thought to apply it before, October 7th never would have happened. Nor any of the previous Gaza wars, either.

South Africa strips Jewish U19 cricket skipper of captaincy, citing anti-Israel protests
[IsraelTimes] Cricket South Africa says it was advised that protests over the war are likely to target upcoming world championship and focus on teen, with a risk of ’conflict or even violence’

David Teeger, a rising star on South Africa’s cricket scene, has been removed as the country’s Under-19 team captain on the eve of the world championship competition.

Cricket South Africa cited threats to Teeger, who is Jewish, and the team over Israel’s war against Hamas
...one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
ahead of the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup, which South Africa is hosting.

"We have been advised that protests related to the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. can be anticipated at the venues for the tournament. We have also been advised that they are likely to focus on... David Teeger," the organization said in a statement.

"CSA has decided that David should be relieved of the captaincy for the tournament," Cricket South Africa added. "This is in the best interests of all the players, the SA U19 team, and David himself," adding that there was a risk of "conflict or even violence."

The statement said he would remain an "important and active member" of the team.

Cricket South Africa had previously suspended Teeger while it investigated hate speech allegations against him after he expressed support for Israeli soldiers following October 7, when Hamas attacked Israel. It later cleared him to return to the team.

Strong anti-Israel sentiment in South Africa has been in the spotlight as the International Court of Justice hears genocide charges brought against Israel by the South African government.

Many pro-Paleostinian activists claim that Israel’s treatment of the Paleostinians is apartheid, a term originally referring to the bygone regime of racial segregation and discrimination in South Africa. About 50,000 Jews live in South Africa; many say they hope to emigrate, citing anti-Israel and antisemitic sentiment as well as other other challenges.

Biden calls Houthis terrorists, then declines to give them ‘irrelevant' official designation
[NY Post] Wouldn't wanna piss of his Iranian (and Kalorama) Masters
President Biden labeled the Houthi movement as "terrorists" on Friday but refused to give the Iranian-allied militants an official terror group designation — calling the difference "irrelevant."

Biden was asked about the "terrorist" label just hours after he ordered airstrikes on Yemen in response to Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea.

"Are you willing to call the Houthis a terrorist group, sir?" a journalist asked the 81-year-old commander in chief as he visited small businesses in Allentown, Pa.

"I think they are," Biden replied.

In a subsequent exchange, Biden dismissed the need for an official designation following the joint US-UK bombardment, which Houthi leaders said killed five people. The offensive prompted a large anti-American rally in Yemen’s capital Sanaa.

Yemen. Disposition (News Roundup)
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] 1. Now it’s the Houthis’ turn. The next move of the United States depends on where and how they strike. They cannot not hit, as it will look like weakness, so they will hit. The US will not be able not to respond, because if it does not respond, it will look like weakness. Therefore, the US will be forced to continue. Therefore, the following moves are actually a forced option.

2. Iran will not enter into any war. This is the basis of his strategy. Iran's goal, while avoiding direct war with the United States and Israel, is to maximally support their wars with their proxies - in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen. This is Soleimani's strategy. It does not provide for quick victories and blitzkriegs - the task of Iranian proxies in the region is to drag Iran’s enemies into endless multi-year wars and exchanges of blows, in which the enemy gets stuck in sand, without achieving any operational or strategic goals.

This is the concept of strategic attrition, which fully corresponds to the main provisions of the strategy of indirect action described by Liddle-Hart. By implementing this strategy, Iran has achieved a lot - despite all the opposition, it has strong positions in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Palestine. While the enemies added chaotic tactics with attacks on Iranian proxies, Tehran consistently expanded its influence throughout the region.

3. Iran invested heavily in the Houthis and achieved the actual creation of Hezbollah 2.0 in Yemen near Saudi Arabia, creating an instrument of pressure on Riyadh. In the hands of Iran, this is an important figure with whom Iran made its move in the confrontation with the United States and Israel.

Previously, Iran could only block the Persian Gulf, which threatened a direct clash with the United States, as was the case, for example, in the late 80s. Now he can blockade the Red Sea with the hands of the Houthis without risking himself, offering the United States a futile war with the Houthis, whose religious concept includes a direct war with the United States and Israel. The Freemen from Sana'a are just waiting to meet the Imperial Sardaukars.

4. The United States understands the game that Iran is playing, so it wants to limit itself to a demonstrative and ineffective PR blow, which should at least save face for the hegemon and prevent Iran from being drawn into an exchange of blows with the Houthis. Therefore, even during and after the strikes, the United States declared its limitations and unwillingness to continue. But now it is the Houthis’ turn and they can force further US steps that they would like to avoid. To do this, it will be enough for them to hit several ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Oman in the next couple of days.

This is precisely what Iran's response may consist of, followed by a reaction to the expected US actions, and the reaction, as usual, will affect the actions of Iranian proxies in Iraq and Syria. That is why many American experts and politicians say that the US strikes against the Houthis were an impulsive mistake that will affect the US strategic position in the Middle East.

5. Iran's main program of action now.

Supporting the resistance in the Gaza Strip.
Support for Hezbollah strikes in Northern Israel.
Rocket attacks on Israel from Iraq and Yemen.
Shelling of American military bases in Iraq and Syria.
Support for the withdrawal of American and NATO troops from Iraq.
Supporting the Houthi maritime campaign in the Red Sea and Gulf of Oman
.
Therefore, do not expect sharp steps from Iran - it is playing for the long haul and is quite ready to convert its human and material costs into a strategic result. Sharp steps and statements will be made by pieces that are methodically moved by bearded grandmasters from Tehran.

Houthis have promised new attacks on ships despite US strikes in Yemen

The rebel Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) will continue to attack Israeli-linked civilian ships in the Red Sea, despite US and British strikes on territory they control in Yemen. This was announced on January 12 by the official representative of the movement, Mohamed Abdel Salam, on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

According to a Houthi official, there is “no justification” for US and British aggression against Yemen, as international shipping in the Red and Arabian Seas was “not at risk.”
“How dare you unbelievers fight back against the Lions of Islam, beloved of Allah!”
“We have attacked and will continue to attack Israeli ships heading to the ports of occupied Palestine,” he wrote.
“Or any ships coming through the Strait headed anywhere — Allah gave this position so that we might shoot from it.”
As Regnum reported, earlier on January 12, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani Chafi called the US and British strike on Houthi positions arbitrary and a violation of the territorial integrity of Yemen. According to him, such actions will only increase instability in the region.
Yeah, yeah.
On the night of January 12, the United States and Great Britain launched a military operation against the Houthis. According to CNN, the British and American military attacked “multiple targets ” of the movement in Yemen.

Later that day, the Pentagon confirmed strikes against Ansar Allah targets in Yemen by US and allied forces. On January 12, Russia requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the strikes by the United States and its allies on targets in Yemen.

Nebenzya announced a violation of the UN Security Council resolution on the Red Sea

The UN Security Council resolution on the Red Sea was violated by the US, UK and their allies, who launched strikes on Yemeni territory. Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, announced this to journalists on January 12.

The Russian diplomat was asked about the reasons for Russia convening an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Yemen.

“Because [the resolution] was immediately violated,” Nebenzya responded.

A resolution on the safety of navigation in the Red Sea, including a demand for the Houthis to immediately stop attacks on ships, was adopted by the UN Security Council on January 10. 11 countries voted for the document, Russia, Algeria, China and Mozambique abstained.

Before the vote, Russia proposed three amendments to the document, including a clause stating that all provisions of the document should not become a precedent or establish new norms of international law. All Russian amendments were rejected by the United States and Great Britain.

Earlier, IA Regnum reported that, as noted by Russia's permanent representative to the UN Nebenzya, the authors of the resolution are trying to legitimize the actions of the international coalition in the Red Sea. Nebenzya noted that Washington and its allies adhere to methods of unilaterally solving the problem by force.

After the adoption of the resolution, the United States and Great Britain launched a military operation against the Yemeni Houthis in Yemen on the night of January 12. A total of 23 strikes were carried out on targets in four provinces of Yemen.

Iranian Foreign Ministry: US and British strike on Houthis will increase instability

US and British strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen will lead to increased instability in the region. This was stated on January 12 by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani Chafi, his words were quoted by the Iranian Foreign Ministry in the Telegram channel.

The diplomat stressed that US and allied strikes on Yemen “will lead to nothing other than increased insecurity and [increasing] instability in the region.”

The official representative of the department added that Washington and London are trying to expand support for Tel Aviv with these actions, while the Israeli military continues military operations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

As Regnum reported, earlier on January 12, an official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry called the attacks by the American and British military on Houthi targets arbitrariness and a violation of the territorial integrity of Yemen.

On the night of January 12, the United States and Great Britain launched a military operation against the rebels of the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) in Yemen. Later that day, the Pentagon confirmed US and allied strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen.

Russia on January 12 requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council after US and allied strikes on targets in Yemen.

Erdogan accused the West of trying to turn the Red Sea into a “sea of blood”
“Pay attention to MEEEEE!!!
The United States and Great Britain are using disproportionate forces to attack Houthi targets (Ansar Allah movement) in Yemen, trying to turn the Red Sea into a “sea of blood.” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters about this on January 12.

"They [the US and Britain] have used disproportionate force, they are trying to turn the Red Sea into a 'sea of blood,' " he said.
Oh no! Disproportionate force!!!! What a hypocrite — does he restrain himself to proportionate force against the Kurds?
According to Erdogan, Israel is now doing the same in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The Turkish leader noted that Ankara receives news through various channels, from which it follows that the Houthis are successfully responding to attacks from Washington and London.
How do you define successful, Your Excellency?
As Regnum reported, on the night of January 12, the United States of America and Great Britain, with the support of Australia, the Netherlands, Bahrain and Canada, launched a military operation against the Houthis in Yemen. Later that day, the US Department of Defense confirmed the attack on Ansar Allah targets on Yemeni territory.

The press service of the US Air Force on January 12 announced strikes on 60 targets in Yemen. The US military clarified that it used more than a hundred precision-guided munitions of various types for the strikes.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said on January 12 that Moscow condemns the US and British strikes on Yemen. The Kremlin representative pointed out the illegitimacy of such actions from the point of view of international law.
So you say.

Palestinian refugees ask to study at Dagestan universities
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] A total of 12 displaced people from Palestine asked to be enrolled in universities to receive free higher education in Dagestan, the republican ombudsman said after a meeting with refugees.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, by January 9, 156 migrants from Palestine, including 81 children, had been settled in Dagestan. 62 people have already received Russian passports, the issue of the legal status of other migrants is being resolved, the administration of the head of the republic reported. More than 30 migrants are ready to work in Dagestan, mainly in the healthcare sector, the head of the Republic’s Ministry of Labor reported.
Does this mean they’re doctors or that they’re janitors? It’s good that they want to work, but how much of a brain drain is this for Gaza?
From November 25 to December 7, 2023, five groups of immigrants from Palestine arrived in Makhachkala. Those who arrived will receive refugee status, the government of the republic announced. On December 23, authorities reported that 45 refugees had been given passports, and Russian language classes had been organized for their children.

The Commissioner for Human Rights in Dagestan Jamal Aliyev reported on today's visit to a temporary accommodation center for refugees from Palestine. “There are 156 people here who were forced to leave Palestine, of which 75 are adults and 81 are children under 18,” he explained in his Telegram channel.

The meeting was also attended by the first deputy head of the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Ilya Chechelnitsky, Aliyev noted. During the visit, the displaced people received “several requests, including requests to organize free higher education for Palestinian children,” the publication says.

“We are talking about 12 young people who want to get a higher education in Dagestan. These and other issues will be brought to the attention of the federal ombudsman by Ilya Chechelnitsky. All appeals have been taken under my personal control,” said the Dagestan ombudsman.

Let us remind you that Palestinian residents who arrived in Dagestan asked to be provided with cellular communications and the Internet, as well as to draw up documents. Some of them said that they intend to obtain Russian citizenship. All displaced persons  are housed at a recreation center  near Makhachkala.

, Danish police said Friday.

Danish prosecutor Anders Larsson has confirmed that the case "has links to Hamas," Danish police told AFP in a statement.

The prosecutor was speaking in Denmark’s Eastern High Court on Friday as the case was being heard behind closed doors.

Police said on December 14 that they had arrested three people in Denmark suspected of planning a "terror" attack, but provided no other details.

A total of seven are now suspected of involvement.

The prosecutor’s statement appeared to back up comments by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said on December 14 that Denmark’s security forces had "thwarted an attack, the goal of which was to kill innocent civilians on European soil."

"The Hamas terrorist organization has been working relentlessly and exhaustively to expand its lethal operations to Europe, and thereby constitute a threat to the domestic security of these countries," Netanyahu said of the apparent plot against Jewish or Israeli targets.

Danish Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard said Friday that the alleged connection to Hamas "confirms that the threat against Denmark is serious, but luckily we have a strong police and intelligence service doing their best to protect us every day."

In December, Israel updated travel warnings for dozens of countries, amid rising antisemitism and threats of violence against Israelis and Jews around the world as its war against Hamas in Gaza continues, sparked by the terror group’s October 7 massacres.

French ambassador for Olympics quits role over post seen as endorsing Oct. 7 attacks
[IsraelTimes] Retired basketball player Emilie Gomis found to have ‘contravened her duty of neutrality’ for sharing anti-Israel image on social media days after the deadly Hamas onslaught

A former La Belle France basketball player serving as an ambassador for the Gay Paree 2024 Olympics has been forced to quit her role because of a controversy linked to a social media post related to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas

Following an urgent meeting of the Gay Paree 2024’s board and general assembly, Emilie Gomis submitted her resignation, Gay Paree Olympics organizers said.

Two days after the brutal assault perpetrated by Hamas in Israel on October 7, in which some 1,200 people were massacred amid scenes of horrific violence, and another 240 were seized as hostages, Gomis briefly published a message on her Instagram account showing maps of La Belle France from 1947, 1967 and 2023. The tricolor flag covering French territory was gradually replaced by the Israeli flag, with this question: "What would you do in this situation?"
There used to be Jewish communities across France. As the Moslem colonists became more numerous and hostile, however, ever more French Jews moved to the greater perceived safety of Paris. But substitute the black flag of Islam and the answer has been sanguinary.
Critics accused the former basketball player of antisemitism and supporting the Hamas onslaught, the deadliest terror attack in Israel’s history, which Gomis strongly denied
No, no! Certainly not!
Gay Paree organizers said in a statement late Wednesday that Gomis was given the opportunity to clarify her position during the meeting.

"The members of the Board of Directors and the General Meeting were able to note that Emilie Gomis condemned the October 7 attacks in Israel, as well as all forms of antisemitism and discrimination, which are contrary to her values," they said.
Uh huh. Sure.
"Emilie Gomis also shared her regrets concerning her publication and apologized."
I don’t doubt she does regret it. I imagine being the French ambassador to the Olympics involved a great many dinners and parties with admiring fans, but not much actual work.
Gay Paree organizers, however, said that Gomis, who won a silver medal for La Belle France at the 2012 Olympics, was no longer in a position to continue her mission because her social media post "contravened her duty of neutrality."

The controversy surrounding Gomis, a retired Franco-Senegal

ese athlete who had played for La Belle France for over 10 years, winning a Euro title in 2009, is the latest thorny issue to face the Games, which is already beset by geopolitical strains from the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

"The accusations of antisemitism I am facing are in total contradiction with the values that were instilled in me and that sport taught me," Gomis had said in a later social media post, apologizing to "those who felt hurt."

Her Instagram account currently has 17,000 followers.

Gay Paree 2024 said it wanted a joyous and safe Olympics for all, but organizers are worried that the event could get caught up in politics amid continuing wars in Gaza and Ukraine, as well as La Belle France’s own internal security challenges.
That last, of course, refers to the restive Moslem colonists resident in the country, who regularly throw up spree attackers and elaborate ISIS plots.

Biden faces fury from the left for launching airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen without going to Congress: Democrats rage at the 'unacceptable violation of the constitution' as Turkey accuses US and UK of turning Red Sea into a 'bloodbath'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] President Joe Biden is facing rage from the left for launching overnight airstrikes in Yemen without congressional approval.

It came as Turkey accused the US and UK of turning the Red Sea into a 'bloodbath' and there were growing fears of widespread escalating violence in the Middle East.

Democrats on Capitol Hill claim it was 'unconstitutional' for the president to order US fighter jets, destroyers and submarines to hit targets used by Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

Biden was also lambasted by Donald Trump for 'dropping bombs all over the Middle East, AGAIN' instead of focusing on the migrant crisis at the US southern border.

International-UN-NGOs
Israel Defends Itself At ICJ Against The Lies Of South Africa And False Accusation of Genocide
Day 2 of the proceedings.
[LegalInsurrection] The entire proceeding is a farce. South Africa, through a highly distorted set of accusations, doesn’t seek to prevent genocide, it seeks to enable genocide against Jews by preventing Israel from defending itself.

South Africa’s politicians are closely aligned with Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
, so it’s not surprising that South Africa took it on itself to bring a claim of Genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel for Israel defending itself against the Hamas, Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, and Paleostinian "civilians" who murdered, tortured, sexually mutilated, and raped Israelis and foreigners on October 7.

The entire proceeding is a farce. South Africa seeks to weaponize the ICJ so that Hamas and other Islamist Death Eaters can commit genocide against Jews. It’s a complete inversion of the purpose of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and the role of the ICJ — South Africa doesn’t seek to prevent genocide, it seeks to enable genocide against Jews by preventing Israel from defending itself and making sure the butchers of October 7 can never do it again — and they have promised to do it again. South Africa seeks extraordinary "provisional remedies" ordering Israel to cease military actions.

Just because the charge of Genocide is a farce doesn’t mean Israel will prevail at the ICJ, which serves under the tutelage of the U.N. General Assembly. The Judges have superficially impressive credentials, and on any other issue perhaps that would matter. But as to Israel, is a Judge from Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
really going to rule against Hamas? Same with Judges from Russia, China, Somalia, and several other countries hostile to Israel.

It’s basically a U.N. General Assembly vote, where you keep hoping they will do the right thing, but they never do. Maybe this time will be different because the nationality of Judges from countries hostile to Israel is not as skewed as in the overall General Assembly, but I’m not hopeful.
Key points from Israel’s opening statement to the court can be read at the link.
Germany is intervening on the side of Israel:
Tweets can be seen at the link.
The ICJ being a function of the General Assembly, has limited power to implement anything. But even the finding of Genocide, though without basis, would be another bullet in the guns of the fake human rights activists and genocidal terrorists and governments to use against Israel.
South Africa, which filed the lawsuit at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in December, asked judges yesterday to impose emergency measures ordering Israel to immediately halt the offensive.

Israel rejects the accusations of genocide as baseless and says South Africa was acting as a mouthpiece for the Hamas terror group that seeks to eliminate the Jewish state. The IDF is targeting Hamas terrorists, not Palestinian civilians, Jerusalem says.

The 1948 Genocide Convention, enacted in the wake of the mass murder of Jews in the Nazi Holocaust, defines genocide as “acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.”

The court is expected to rule on possible emergency measures later this month but will not rule at that time on the genocide allegations with those proceedings potentially taking years.

The ICJ’s decisions are final and without appeal, but the court has no way to enforce them.

Israel barred from International Ice Hockey Federation events over security concerns
[IsraelTimes] Israeli Ice Hockey Association decries ’antisemitic decision,’ will file claim with sports court of arbitration; global federation cites unspecified fears over ’safety’

The International Ice Hockey Federation has barred Israel from competing in its world championship events, citing security concerns, in a move Israel has vowed to dispute, decrying an "antisemitic" and "dangerous" decision.

The IIHF said in a statement issued Wednesday that its ruling council "has decided to restrict the Israeli National Team from participating in IIHF Championships until the safety and well-being of all participants (including Israeli participants) can be assured."

The Israeli men’s national team was due to play a Division II-A world championship tournament in Serbia in April against teams including Australia and the United Arab Emirates. The Israel women’s national team was scheduled for a Division III-B world championship event in Estonia in March against opponents including Bosnia-Herzegovina and Indonesia.

The Israeli Ice Hockey Association announced in response that it will file a claim with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the international hockey group over its "antisemitic decision to exclude Israel is an unusual and very serious step that does not meet any international sporting standard and stands in complete contradiction to Olympic values."

The Israeli Ice Hockey Association said that "sources within the International Ice Hockey Federation suggest that the underlying cause of the decision appears to be the alleged capitulation of the Federation’s chairman, Luc Tardif, to political pressures, including influences from Russia."

The IIHF said it "took this decision after careful consideration and based on a risk assessment, discussions with the participating countries and discussions with the hosts."

The statement did not say if any other country had objected to playing against Israel and made no mention of the ongoing Israel-Hamas

, triggered by the Paleostinian terror group’s October 7 massacre.

Israel will remain excluded "for the time being," the IIHF said.

"In a personal conversation I had with the president of the International Hockey Federation, I witnessed a disappointing lack of transparency and opacity driven by a hidden agenda that has no place in world sports. The International Olympic Committee is aware of the situation and supports that Israel will not be discriminated [against] in any competition whatsoever. We will not allow this to happen," said Yael Arad, Chairman of the Olympic Committee of Israel, and an Olympic judoka champion.

In its reasoning, the IIHF has previously used similar language around safety and security to support its decision last year to suspend Russia and Belarus from competition following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The IIHF world championships are structured into a series of tiers and Israel’s national teams typically play in lower-division events with sparse crowds and little media exposure.

The official says that Israel has been pushing from the get-go for medications to be transferred to Hamas, which has until this week refused to cooperate. The terror group buckled amid heightened pressure from Qatar, the official says.

The Geneva-based Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) issued a statement marking 100 days since the conflict began on October 7.

"This Sunday will mark 100 days since Hamas and other Paleostinian gangs launched their horrific attack on Israel, in which 1,200 people, mostly Israelis, were killed and around 250 taken hostage," the statement began.

"On the conduct of hostilities, we have repeatedly highlighted Israel’s recurring failures to uphold the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law: distinction, proportionality, and precautions in carrying out attacks," it continued.

"Breaches of these obligations risk exposure to liability for war crimes."

It called for a ceasefire to "end the appalling suffering and loss of life" and allow the prompt and effective delivery of humanitarian aid to a population "facing shocking levels of hunger and disease."

The statement provokes a response from Israel’s mission in Geneva.

"Not one word demanding the release of the hostages held in Gaza," it said on X, formerly Twitter.

"A call for a ceasefire, without demanding the release of our hostages and the disarming of Hamas, is a call for terrorism to win."

Volker Turk, UN high commissioner for human rights, has repeatedly called for the hostages to be freed but the latest statement from his office neglected the issue.

One bomber detonated his explosives at the ceremony in Kerman, about 820 kilometers (510 miles) southeast of the capital, Tehran, then another attacked 20 minutes later as emergency workers and other people tried to help the maimed from the first explosion.

The official IRNA news agency carried a statement by the intelligence ministry saying the main suspect who planned the bombing was a Tajik national known by his alias Abdollah Tajiki.

According to IRNA, the suspect had entered the country in mid-December by crossing Iran’s southeast border, and left two days before the attack, after making the bombs.

The report also identified one of the bombers by his family name of Bozrov, saying the man was 24 years old and had Tajik and Israeli nationality.
It’s true there are Tajiki Jews, and some of them emigrated to Israel. In theory one could have converted to Islam and joined ISIS, but it seems unlikely...
It said he also arrived in Iran by crossing the southeastern border after months of training by IS in Afghanistan.

The report further said authorities were still trying to identify the second suicide bomber. In its claim of responsibility, the Islamic State group had identified the two bombers as Omar al-Mowahed and Seif-Allah al-Mujahed.

Iranian authorities have so far arrested 35 people across several provinces with purported links to the bombings, the report added.

Meanwhile,

the corpse count from the attack rose to 94 on Thursday, from the previous 91 fatalities reported on Sunday. Iranian media said 14 of the dead were Afghan nationals who were participating in the commemoration for Revolutionary Guard General Qassem Soleimani, who led the paramilitary’s expeditionary Quds Force.
