Billionaire Harvard fund manager sez Harvard president Claudine Gay must GO ! (and Ivy heads testify to Congress)
[MAIL] A billionaire Harvard donor and alumnus has demanded the university president to resign after she refused to say that calling for the genocide of Jews was harassment.

Bill Ackman, a hedge fund manager who in 2014 gave $26 million to the university, said on Tuesday he was outraged by the performance of Claudine Gay.
I suppose he was giving her time to turn things around at his alma mater after he’d demanded the names of the Harvard students who’d signed the letter condemning Israel after Hamas’s 10/7 massacre, because he refused to hire them.
Ackman, who is Jewish, accused her of 'profound moral bankruptcy' and said she and other university presidents who spoke at a Congressional hearing on Tuesday must 'resign in disgrace'.

Gay was called to testify before the House education committee, along with the president of the University of Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Magill, and the president of MIT, Sally Kornbluth, who is Jewish.

All three women were pressed by Elise Stefanik, the chair of the House Republican Conference, over their actions to stamp out antisemitism on their campuses.

#3  Claudine's communications (if you can call her word salads that) to the alumni have been muddled and clueless. She was hired because of her skin color and her chromosomes. She has no other qualificaitons. Her resume is one of the lightest I've ever seen. And even the usual puff piece in Harvard magazine for a new president was tepid at best. They did their best, but there's only so much you can puff up someone this light.

Sudan's pro-democracy leader slams Burhan's warning to new UN envoy
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Yasir Arman, a prominent figure of Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
’s pro-democracy coalition Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC), has criticized the stern message delivered by the head of the Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, to the newly appointed UN envoy to Sudan, Ramtane Lamamra.

"Is it reasonable to threaten the envoy of the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Secretary-General, Ramtane Lamamra, before he even sets foot on Sudanese soil and before he has had a chance to meet with the concerned parties?" Arman wrote on social media hours after al-Burhan’s statement on Sunday.

In his Saturday remarks, al-Burhan had welcomed Lamamra’s appointment but cautioned that he might face the same fate as his predecessor, Volker Perthes, if he were to take sides with any particular faction or group.

"We do not want an envoy who sides with a faction or group, otherwise, his fate will be like Volker Perthes. Rather, we want a neutral mission that contributes to the stability, security and unity of Sudan," al-Burhan said in Madani, Al Jazirah State.

Arman countered that using threatening language is counterproductive, emphasizing that Lamamra, an Algerian diplomat, brings both Algerian and African perspectives to the role.

In a separate post, Arman compared the approach adopted by the "National Committee for Dealing with the United Nations," headed by Sovereign Council member Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jabir, to that of "the remnants of the ousted regime" in dealing with the UN and the international community.

South Africa: Hamas representatives at Mandela tributes
[AFRICANEWS] Senior Hamas officials joined Nelson Mandela's family as tributes to South Africa's first black president on the 10th anniversary of his death in the capital Pretoria on Tuesday, AFP journalists noted.

South Africa, a fervent supporter of the Palestinian cause, is one of the countries most critical of the massive and deadly Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip, in retaliation for the bloody attacks carried out by Hamas in Israel on 7 October.

Nelson Mandela, who advocated "freedom for the Palestinians", died in 2013 at the age of 95. Leaders from around the world, including the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas, were present at his funeral, but Israeli leaders did not attend.

On Tuesday, the family of the anti-apartheid hero laid a wreath in front of the statue of him in front of government headquarters in Pretoria.

Basem Naim, former Health Minister for Hamas in Gaza, and Khaled Qaddoumi, representative of the Islamist movement in Iran, were present. In the preceding days, they had also taken part in a conference on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict organised by Nelson Mandela's grandson, Mandla Mandela, in Johannesburg.

Arabia
Minister of Information reiterates that military operations in support of Palestine will continue
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Minister of Information in the caretaker government Dhaifallah al-Shami emphasized on Monday that the military operations conducted by the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i Armed Forces stand in solidarity with the Paleostinian people and their resistance.

He highlighted that these operations against the Zionist entity will escalate, targeting more areas and assets until the aggression against Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. ceases.

"The heroic operation carried out by the Yemeni Naval Forces is part of an escalating series of responses in support of our brothers in Paleostine," al-Shami said in a statement to the Unews agency. "These operations, targeting Israeli vessels in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, may extend to encompass additional regions and objectives. We’ve consistently declared our unwavering support for our Paleostinian brothers, relying on Allah in our actions."

He added, "The targeting of these two ships will profoundly affect the strategic dynamics of the ongoing battle waged by Israel against our Paleostinian brethren."

Responding to media speculation from Saudi coalition outlets regarding a potential peace deal with Yemen, the Minister of Information remarked, "These leaks emerge amid the ongoing intensity of the conflict, particularly after the announcement by Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
about our direct involvement in combat against the Israeli entity, a move that received widespread acclaim from the Yemeni populace. Thus, the enemy aims to spread such rumors to quell the growing indignation and resentment among Yemeni citizens."

Al-Shami continued, "Our stance regarding any agreements in this context remains resolute and immutable, in fact, it has strengthened. They seek to divert attention from our opposition to America and Israel. These leaks are orchestrated by Zionists and Americans against our nation through subtle, media-driven political tactics. We will disclose everything at the appropriate time, whether it involves peace negotiations or warfare."

He emphasized further, "In recent times, they attempted to incite conflict and instigate war through their proxies but have encountered frustration. Any actor today aligning with Zionism will be viewed as serving Israel. This is the manner in which we will confront both internal and external individuals associating themselves with the Israeli entity."

Europe
Lawyers try stop export of F-35 parts from Netherlands to Israel
[IsraelTimes] Human rights lawyers go to court in the Netherlands today to call for a halt to the export of fighter jet parts to Israel that could be used in strikes on Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
The organizations allege that delivery of parts for F-35 jets makes the Netherlands complicit in what it calls possible war crimes being committed by Israel in its war with Hamas
...one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
The rights lawyers want The Hague District Court to issue an injunction banning the export of F-35 parts that are stored in a warehouse in the town of Woensdrecht.

"The state must immediately stop the delivery of F-35 parts to Israel," lawyer Liesbeth Zegveld tells the court.

Citing government documents, Zegveld says that Dutch customs asked the government if it wanted to continue exports after the Oct. 7 assault by Hamas that triggered the Israel-Hamas war.

"The warning that the fighter jets can contribute to serious breaches of the laws of war does not, for the (Dutch) state, outweigh its economic interests and diplomatic reputation."

Government lawyer Reimer Veldhuis urges the court’s single judge to reject the injunction, saying that even if it were to uphold the rights lawyers’ legal arguments and ban exports, "the United States would deliver these parts to Israel from another place."

He adds that Israel has the right to self-defense.

"Israel must be able to respond to threats from the region. That must, of course, happen within the framework of international law," Veldhuis says.

EU authorities warn of risk of terrorist attacks during the holidays
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson warned of the risk of terrorist attacks in European countries during the New Year holidays amid the conflict in the Middle East, the Associated Press reported on December 5.
And not just from the Moslem colonists — Antifa and Communist “activists” have been getting in on the action, too, claiming that Israel is an evil capitalist colonist society.
“With the war between Israel and Hamas and the polarization it has caused in our society, as well as the upcoming holiday season, there is a huge risk of terrorist attacks in the European Union,” Johansson warned.

In addition, she added, the European Commission will allocate an additional 30 million euros to strengthen security in vulnerable areas of EU member states.

As Regnum reported, Hungarian historian László Bernát Veszprémi previously warned that a large-scale “bloody” civil war threatens Europe due to the public reaction in European countries to the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The expert added that in the future, anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim actions of an ultra-right nature are likely to intensify in European countries. Terrorist attacks that may be carried out by right-wing radicals will push Islamists to retaliate, and such confrontation will lead to civil war.

RUSSIA'S POSITION
As reported by IA Regnum, the Russian President has previously repeatedly stated that Moscow has never refused negotiations with Kiev. The Ukrainian authorities prohibited these negotiations for themselves, Putin noted, recalling that in the spring of 2022, representatives of Kyiv initialed a peace agreement, but after the withdrawal of units of the Russian Armed Forces from Kyiv, they refused to implement it. In addition, according to the Russian leader, the key to solving the problem of Ukraine is on the side of the West.

The Kremlin and the Russian Foreign Ministry have repeatedly noted that Russia is ready for peace negotiations with Ukraine, provided that Kiev fulfills the requirements set before the start of a special military operation, and provided that new territorial realities are recognized - the return of four regions to Russia in 2022.

POSITION WEST
According to Western leaders, peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia should not be held to the detriment of Kyiv. Thus, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on March 20 that Washington would oppose any peace plan if it did not provide for Russia’s retreat from new regions.

The Kremlin then said that the US leadership was “maniacally determined” to prevent the Ukrainians from even thinking about the hypothetical possibility of entering a peaceful settlement path.

However, later in November 2023, observers of the German newspaper Bild reported in their material that the US and German authorities want to force the leaders of the Kiev regime to peace negotiations with Moscow and therefore send Ukraine such shipments of weapons that are enough to hold the front line, but not for an offensive.

Courtesy of Skidmark, the BBC adds:
A similar warning came from German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser who told reporters the EU had to keep a close eye on threats and propaganda, as there was a high "risk of further emotionalisation and radicalisation of violent Islamist perpetrators".

Many European countries have seen a surge in hate crimes since Hamas gunmen attacked Israeli communities.

EU ministers were meeting after a deadly attack close to the Eiffel Tower on Saturday in which a 23-year-old German tourist called Collin B was stabbed to death, and his girlfriend and a British tourist were wounded. The young German couple had visited Disneyland Paris, the Louvre and taken selfies in front of the Eiffel Tower before the attack.

Police said the 26-year-old French suspect, identified as Armand R,
...that’d be Armand Rajabpour-Miyandoab...
who comes from a non-religious Iranian family had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group.

The man, who was arrested at the scene, had previously been imprisoned for planning a terror plot in the La Défense business district outside Paris. In 2020, he was interviewed by French police for having communicated with Abdoullakh Anzorov, who murdered teacher Samuel Paty. Anti-terror prosecutor Jean-François Ricard said that Armand R's mother had raised concerns about his behaviour although there was no evidence at the time to take further measures against him.

Germany has also been on high alert for possible attack.

Last week two boys were detained in different parts of the country on suspicion of planning a militant Islamist attack on a Christmas market in the city of Leverkusen.

And a 20-year-old Iraqi who arrived in Germany last year is in custody on suspicion of planning a knife attack on a Christmas market in Hannover.

The head of German domestic intelligence in the eastern state of Thuringia, Stephan Kramer, has warned of the "considerable potential for danger" posed by Hamas-sympathisers, not just to Christmas markets but to major sporting events such as the Paris Olympics and the Euro 2024 football championships next year.

Germany Stands Up for Israel; Has Obligation to Israel
All credit to Germany for this.
[Townhall with embedded TwitterX video] So, amid the chaos and the baseless accusations that Israel is committing genocide from the international community, one European nation has stood out from all the rest regarding standing with Israel in their struggle against the terrorists: the Federal Republic of Germany. Here’s what Chaskel Bennett, a grandchild of Holocaust survivors, had to say back in November. He was commenting on this clip from German Vice Chancellor Robert Habek:

Spread of gang violence wrecks Sweden's peaceful image
The bones of the article. All the human interest stuff can be read at the link.
[BBC] Gangland shootings and bombings that have plagued Sweden's biggest cities have spread to quieter suburbs and towns, shattering its reputation as a safe and peaceful nation.

Half an hour north of central Stockholm, Upplands-Bro features lakeside boat clubs, copper-red wooden villas and apartments flanked by pine and spruce trees. But a 14-year-old boy was found dead in a forest here in August, and since January there have been several shootings and bombings targeting houses and apartments.

"It's awful. We've [been] woken up by explosions in the neighbourhood and it's scary," says 42-year-old Anna Petterson, who lives in Bro and has three children. "It's very much something that we're aware of, and we talk about a lot, and are afraid of."

Sweden has been a European hotspot for gang-related shootings and bombings for several years. But recently the violence has shifted beyond low-income, vulnerable urban areas and police say one reason is that gang members are increasingly targeting rivals' relatives.

Detectives suspect some of the latest violence has been organised by criminal leaders based in other countries, including Turkey and Serbia.
...also Iraqis, Kurds, and Syria...
More than 50 people have been killed in shootings so far in 2023, and there have been more than 140 explosions. Last year, more than 60 people died in gun violence, the highest number on record.

"What started out as gun violence between young gangs looking to defend their territory has turned into a vicious circle of firearms trafficking and gun violence," explains Nils Duquet, a firearms researcher based at the Flemish Peace Institute in Brussels.

"Gangs have also matured and are no longer just the street criminals, but are often connected to higher-level criminals as well."

Swedish police do not currently map gang members' nationalities, but research for the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention in 2021 showed young people born in Sweden to two parents from abroad were overrepresented as suspects in murder cases and robberies.

The right-wing coalition government, elected in September 2022, believes the rise in gang violence in recent years is directly connected to Sweden's earlier immigration policies. Until 2016, it had one of the most generous asylum laws in Europe.

"We can now see that 'outsideship' and lack of integration, in combination with trade of narcotics and organised crime is creating this very, very toxic mixture," Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom told the BBC in September.

The government wants to make it harder for immigrants from outside the European Union to get social benefits, and to make preschool compulsory for children with two foreign parents in some areas, in order to improve Swedish-language skills.

Earlier this year, it became an offence to recruit children to participate in criminal activities. Stop-and-search zones are set to be introduced in early 2024 and ministers want to double prison sentences for offences including gun crimes and explosions.

Worries about how gang conflicts are impacting the country's international image are also growing. "Sweden has always been viewed as an extremely safe country. Maybe one of the top safe countries in the world. And this image is falling apart," says Hradilova-Selin.

According to a recent survey for the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, eight out of 10 Swedish companies questioned believe it will get harder to attract foreign talent, investment and visitors due to the ongoing violence.

Study finds Hamas may have profited from Oct. 7 assault with advance stock market trades
[IsraelTimes] A recent study finds that the Hamas

terror group may have tried to profit off its October 7 assault on Israel, using advance knowledge of the attack to short sell Israeli companies in the days leading up to the massacre.

The study published in the SSRN journal by Robert J. Jackson, Jr. from the New York University School of Law and Joshua Mitts of Columbia Law School finds that traders who apparently had advance knowledge made billions of dollars.

"We document a significant spike in short selling in the principal Israeli-company ETF days before the October 7 Hamas attack," the paper says.

"The short selling that day far exceeded the short selling that occurred during numerous other periods of crisis, including the recession following the financial crisis, the 2014 Israel-Gazoo

war, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Similarly, we identify increases in short selling before the attack in dozens of Israeli companies traded in Tel Aviv," it notes.

Short selling is when a trader borrows shares in a specific company and then sells them, hoping the price will fall after so they can buy them back for a lower price.

"For one Israeli company alone, 4.43 million new shares sold short over the September 14 to October 5 period yielded profits (or avoided losses) of 3.2 billion NIS ($740 million) on that additional short selling," the paper says.

"Although we see no aggregate increase in shorting of Israeli companies on US exchanges, we do identify a sharp and unusual increase, just before the attacks, in trading in risky short-dated options on these companies expiring just after the attacks," it added.

FBI director says terror threats elevated to all-time high since Oct. 7: 'Blinking lights everywhere'
[FoxNews] FBI Director Christopher Wray testified Tuesday that the terror threat facing the United States has reached unprecedented levels since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., asked Wray to describe the current "threat matrix" facing the United States at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

"What I would say that is unique about the environment that we're in right now in my career is that while there may have been times over the years where individual threats could have been higher here or there than where they may be right now, I've never seen a time where all the threats or so many of the threats are all elevated, all at exactly the same time," the FBI director replied.

"So, blinking red lights analogy about 9/11 — all the lights were blinking red before 9/11, apparently," Graham continued. "Obviously, all of us missed it. Would you say there's multiple blinking red lights out there?" he asked.

"I see blinking red lights everywhere," Wray answered.

He later told Graham that since the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, when Hamas terrorists brutally murdered at least 1,200 Israelis, a "veritable rogue's gallery of foreign terrorists" has called for attacks against the U.S.

"The threat level has gone to a whole nother level since Oct. 7," Wray emphasized.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
PM: Massive military force fastest way to end war
[JPost] “If our friends want to help shorten the war, which is also their war against the barbarism that threatens to sweep the world, they simply have to stand firmly by our side,” Netanyahu said.

Overwhelming military force is the quickest way to end the Gaza war and ensure the return of the hostages, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters in Tel Aviv Tuesday night amid international concern about the mounting death toll in the enclave.

“I say from here to our friends in the world who are pushing for a quick end to the war: our only way to end the war, and to end it quickly, is to use overwhelming force against Hamas – and destroy it.

“If our friends want to help shorten the war, which is also their war against the barbarism that threatens to sweep the world, they simply have to stand firmly by our side,” Netanyahu said.

The combined pressure of such an IDF campaign in Gaza combined with a determined diplomatic one is the only way to secure the release of the Hamas-held captives, Netanyahu stressed.

“We’re working to bring all the captives home safely, and I mean everyone,” Netanyahu said.

ISRAEL ESTIMATES 138 HOSTAGES REMAIN IN CAPTIVITY
Israel has calculated that there are some 138 captives remaining of the close to 250 that Hamas seized during its infiltration into southern Israel on October 7, during which it also killed over 1,200 people.

He spoke hours after he and the war cabinet met with relatives of the hostages.

“I told the families that we are sparing no effort to return their loved ones. Returning all our captives is one of the three overarching goals we set for the war, and these goals serve each other,” Netanyahu said.

He recalled that Israel had already secured the release of 110 hostages. Eighty of those were Israeli women and children freed through a deal that ended prematurely on Friday morning.

“We managed to bring home 110 of the captives through a powerful ground campaign like no other and a sustained diplomatic effort.

“And I tell you – this is the only way to return the captives who remain in the captivity of Hamas - and we are obliged to do so,” Netanyahu said.

The IDF has been instructed to continue the war, Netanyahu said.

“Our fighters are expanding ground operations against Hamas everywhere in the Gaza Strip – including in the south of the Strip. Tonight we operated there with tremendous force. The ground shook in Khan Yunis, the ground shook in Jabalya. We surrounded them both. There is no place that we are not reaching,” he said.

“We will fight to the end, until the absolute victory,” he said.

That victory is calculated by the return of the hostages, Hamas’s destruction and ensuring that Gaza does not pose a continued threat to Israel.

“No entity in Gaza will support terror, educate for terror, or finance terror,” he said.

Once the war is over, Gaza must be demilitarized and remain under IDF security control, he said.

“No international power can be responsible for this [Gaza security]. We have seen what happened in other places that brought in international forces,” Netanyahu said.

“I am not ready to close my eyes and accept any other arrangement.

PM TO INT'L COMMUNITY: "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU" ON HAMAS RAPE?
Netanyahu thundered against the failure of human rights groups and the United Nations to immediately condemn Hamas’s acts of rape and sexual mutilation of its female victims during its October 7,

“Were you quiet because we were talking about Jewish women?” Netanyahu asked.

In English, he asked the international community, “Where the hell are you?”

“I say to the women’s rights organizations, to the human rights organizations. You have heard of the rape of the Israeli women, horrible atrocities, sexual mutilations” at Hamas’ hands?

“I expect all civilized leaders, governments, nations to speak up against this atrocity,” Netanyahu said.

He specifically called out the United Nations which condemned the sexual violence only last week after a protracted campaign by Israel and activist groups.

Speaking at a political fundraiser in Boston, US President Joe Biden said accounts of “unimaginable cruelty” by Hamas toward its female victims had been shared over the past few weeks.

“Reports of women raped – repeatedly raped – and their bodies being mutilated while still alive, of women’s corpses being desecrated, Hamas terrorists inflicting as much pain and suffering on women and girls as possible and then murdering them. It is appalling,” Biden said.

Qatar, which mediated the hostage deal, said Tuesday it was working to repair a collapsed truce agreement between Israel and Hamas,

“We are constantly working to renew [the truce] and to alleviate the burden of our people in the Gaza Strip, but truces are not an alternative for a comprehensive ceasefire,” Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, said in a speech to Gulf leaders gathered in the Qatari capital Doha.

Sheikh Tamim, called on the UN Security Council to force Israel to return to the negotiating table over the war in Gaza, saying the inaction by the international community in halting the conflict was “shameful.” Hamas has asserted that close to 16,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza war-related violence.

“It is shameful for the international community to allow this heinous crime to continue for nearly two months, during which the systematic and deliberate killing of innocent civilians continues, including women and children,” he said.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said Tuesday’s summit in Doha was aimed at forming a united approach to end the war in Gaza across the six countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council - Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

“Now the ceiling should be raised to talk about a sustainable truce that could lead to ending this war,” Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s foreign ministry, told Al Jazeera.

14 kids under 10, 25 people over 80: Up-to-date breakdown of Oct 7 victims we know about
[IsraelTimes] Age, gender data for most civilian victims of Hamas
...always the voice of sweet reason...
onslaught, based on media tally, provides a picture authorities aim to complete as they continue efforts to identify bodies

Almost two months after the unprecedented Hamas onslaught on southern Israel, which left some 1,200 people dead, the exact data on those killed in the biggest terror attack in Israeli history is still shrouded in uncertainty. There have been efforts to compile the available data, particularly the number of babies, children, and elderly people murdered on October 7, even as several members of emergency organizations have been quoted giving imprecise information. Authorities have identified a total of 274 soldiers and 859 non-soldiers killed during the brutal assault. The latter figure includes 57 Israel Police officers and 38 local security officers. It is unclear which of these individuals were on duty when killed. Removing those victims leaves a figure of 764 civilians.

Report: IDF believes Hamas used spy to compile detailed map of base ahead of invasion
[IsraelTimes] Among the detailed Hamas
...always the voice of sweet reason...
attack plans used during the October 7 onslaught and found by the IDF is a detailed map of an Israeli military base that was almost certainly compiled using a spy, The Guardian quotes an unnamed Israeli intelligence source as saying.

The UK news site says findings on the Paleostinian terror group’s invasion plans have been presented to foreign journalists, including a map of a base that is "more detailed than would have been required by the IDF itself."

"Compiling such a map could only have been done using ’inside knowledge’ — almost certainly from a Hamas spy," the report cites the intelligence source as saying.

A military correspondent for Israel’s Kan public broadcaster, however, says at this stage, Israeli intelligence officials have no indication that there were spies in Israel who worked for Hamas before the war.

The Guardian report, according to Kan’s correspondent, stemmed from a briefing for foreign media outlets during which officials said the IDF was investigating all possibilities regarding the planning of the October 7 attacks.

The IDF says that after the war is over, it will investigate the circumstances that led to Hamas’s attack on October 7.

Sinwar last year publicly hailed TV dramatization of attack on Israel as ‘what we are preparing’
Shin Bet and Mossad were busy organizing anti-Bibi protests, while their American counterparts were spying on Donald Trump and concerned parents. Hopefully they're embarrassed enough about the consequences of their inattention to focus on their actual jobs from now on.
[IsraelTimes] A TV drama series broadcast last year on Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
TV that featured forces of Evil infiltrating Israel, was publicly hailed by Hamas’s Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
chief Yahya Sinwar as "an inseparable part of what we are preparing," Channel 12 news shows.

Hamas TV broadcast the series during Ramadan in late spring 2022, the Israeli TV report says. It dramatized an attack on Israel featuring the use of white pickup trucks, the disabling of Israeli communications, and targets including kibbutzim and IDF bases — including the Re’im base where the IDF Gaza Division is located. It also showed soldiers being kidnapped, and the raising of a Paleostinian base at an IDF base.

Along with footage from the show, Channel 12 shows a clip from a televised award ceremony held in Gaza later in 2022, at which Sinwar handed out prizes to the show’s producers.

"This series is an inseparable part of what we are preparing — the great preparations we are making with our brothers in Izz-e-din al-Qassam," he is shown saying. Sinwar cites "the weaponry that they are producing" and their "intelligence gathering."

Hamas’s military wing, he says, "is absolutely planning for the liberation and return."

TV report finds more pre-Oct 7 info on Hamas plans, IDF chiefs’ consults hours before assault

[IsraelTimes] In the latest report on information and assessments that should have enabled the Israeli military leadership to prevent the October 7 Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
-led onslaught, Channel 12 says that the intelligence officer of the IDF Gazoo Division in July 2022 prepared a presentation setting out "The Mass Invasion Plan of Hamas."

One diagram from the presentation shows some 20 Nukba Hamas terror squads invading southern Israel from Gaza. The presentation said the terror squads would be accompanied by engineering teams to breach the border fence and defenses in multiple places. The document reportedly included the sentence: "This invasion constitutes the gravest threat that IDF forces are facing in the defense [of Israel]."

Channel 12 further reports that IDF Military Intelligence held a discussion three months before October 7, at which an officer identified as Brig-Gen. Peh. concluded: "We have tried, but have not succeeded. We cannot say how [Hamas’s Gaza chief Yahya] Sinwar will act, and therefore commanders in the field should take the necessary precautions."

On October 1, the commander of the Gaza Division ordered a situational assessment, which found a "sharp increase in drills by Nukba forces." Six Hamas battalions were drilling once or twice a week, the report on that assessment said. It specified which battalions were drilling, including several in northern Gaza and one in Khan Younis.

Nonetheless, according to Channel 12, the intelligence officer of the division summed up: "In the tension between the economic benefits for Hamas and the continued disturbances [that were taking place at the Gaza border], it seems that, at the moment, things are heading toward an arrangement and a calming of the disturbances."

On the night of October 6-7, Channel 12 further reports, email was sent from an IDF base on the Gaza border about an imminent attack, describing "certain signs coming from Gaza." At the same time, the Shin Bet also saw signs that something was up.

At around 3.30 a.m. on October 7, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi was awakened by his officer manager and updated on the various signs. He convened a situational assessment with the head of IDF Operations and the Southern Command chief some 90 minutes later.

After discussing the signs of a possible imminent attack. Halevi asked for more information and ordered that the Israel Air Force be updated. He also ordered that the intelligence information be checked — and checked from a perspective skeptical to the prevailing assumption that Hamas was not interested in war.

This, says Channel 12, may have marked the first crack in that conception of Hamas being deterred, but it was not sufficient for Halevi to have ordered preparations for a major incident.

Israel had multiple sources of information on Hamas’s drills and other preparations for an assault in the weeks ahead of October 7, reportedly including a 2022 Hamas attack plan.

Land. A reminder: Hamas Land is a mere extension of what you called a national resistance. How is it possible, Jebran? How can you make a lie and believe it? Which national resistance are you talking about?" Adraee said in a post on the X platform.

"Hezbollah and Hamas are two faces of the same coin and the proof is what is currently happening in the South," Adraee added.

Bassil has totally rejected Hamas’ statement, warning that "any armed action using Lebanese territory as a launchpad is an attack on national illusory sovereignty."

"Lebanon has rights and its ’national resistance’ against Israel empowers it to defend itself, but the creation of a Hamas Land in the South weakens it," Bassil said in a post on X.

Hamas meanwhile said that its statement was misinterpreted and that the new division is a popular and not a military organization, after the announcement sparked a storm of outrage in Lebanon.
