United Teachers Los Angeles and the LA County Federation of Labor both announced Friday that they were suspending campaign activities for Kahllid al-Alim, days after a 2022 social media post surfaced in which he praised "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews," an infamous antisemitic volume published by the Nation of Islam.

[GEO.TV] Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi — who is the sub-divisional police officer at Gulbarg Lahore — Monday said the woman harassed by an enraged mob in the city's Ichhra Bazaar was not coerced into apologising for wearing the shirt with Arabic script. Important safety tip: Never wear a dress with Arabic-style letters on it in a land of illiterates.
The cop added that the woman, who was later seen seated between two bearded holy mans in one of the videos, was shifted to a safe location and her consent was taken before meeting those men.
"We did not coerce the woman into saying anything whatsoever. The consent was taken, she said what she said on her behalf," ASP Shehrbano said when speaking during Geo News programme 'Geo Pakistain' on Tuesday.
The ASP's remark came in response to a question about why the woman was asked to apologise when she was not at fault in the situation, particularly after it was pointed out by social media users.
On February 25, the woman was saved by the law enforcers just a few minutes after being encircled and harassed by an angry crowd that wanted to punish her for allegedly wearing a dress that they thought was blasphemous as it adorned "holy verses" as the print.

"They have been trying to reach out to us. Once the matter cools down, we'll look into it."
Meanwhile, ...back at the bunker, his Excellency called the chief of staff and complained that the artillery was keeping him awake... according to ASP Shehrbano, when the mob demanded meeting the woman — who was shifted to a safer location — then the religious scholars nominated by the mob to resolve the issue were allowed to meet her only after her consent was taken first.
"We asked the consent of the woman first whether she was okay meeting them because she was very scared. She said she is ok," the ASP revealed, adding that the woman was seated in the SHO's office.

It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... ’s Houthis have been targeting shipping in the Red Sea area for months, persisting in attacks despite repeated US and British strikes aimed at degrading their ability to threaten the vital global trade route.
Brian Nelson, US Treasury undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, says the latest sanctions underscore resolve in targeting efforts by the IRGC Quds Force and Houthis to evade sanctions and fund more attacks in the region.
The Quds Force is the IRGC branch responsible for foreign operations, with officials saying it supports Death Eater groups across the region, including the Houthis, Hamas ...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... and Hezbollah.
As the Houthis "persistently threaten the security of peaceful international commerce, the United States and the United Kingdom will continue to disrupt the funding streams that enable these destabilizing activities," Nelson says.
"The UK will also sanction a Houthi security minister for threatening the peace, security and stability of Yemen by supporting attacks against shipping in the Red Sea," British authorities say in a statement.
Among those targeted are Mohammad Reza Falahzadeh, current deputy commander of the IRGC Quds Force.
Houthi member Ibrahim al-Nashiri was also named by the United States over support of the group’s Death Eater efforts.
The Treasury also announces sanctions against the owner and operator of a vessel used to ship Iranian commodities — Hong Kong-based Cap Tees Shipping Co — to support both the Houthis and IRGC Quds Force.
"The revenue generated through these illicit networks enables the Houthis’ Death Eater efforts, including numerous terrorist attacks in the region using advanced unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles," the US Treasury says.
