Fast-food workers used customers' money to bail out jail inmates: police
RICO?
[FoxNews] Fast-food fraudsters at an Indiana Hardee's secretly stole customers' debit card information in a scheme to bail inmates out of jail, authorities claim.

A La Porte County jail commander and other employees noticed last month that large sums of money had been funneled from outside the jail into inmates’ communication system accounts, called Securus accounts, from sources outside the jail, according to the sheriff's office. The inmates then allegedly bonded out of the jail and used the remaining funds in their Securus accounts to load onto a jail-issued debit card.

"The investigation uncovered a complex fraudulent scheme," the sheriff's office told Fox News Digital. "Essentially, the La Porte County Jail and Securus were utilized by the arrestees to launder fraudulent monies – dirty money was deposited into the system and clean money eventually came out on the backside."

Chief of Detectives Capt. Andy Hynek initiated a formal investigation and found a network that included workers at a Hardee's restaurant in Michigan City, the sheriff's office said.

Authorities said they uncovered a scheme involving "a few" Hardee’s employees, who in August and September of this year allegedly photographed drive-thru customers’ debit and credit cards. The accounts were then fraudulently used to deposit funds into the Securus accounts for inmates with "low bond amounts," authorities said. The inmates who received the funds would allegedly bond out of jail "almost immediately" after acquiring the funds.

"After leaving the jail, the former inmates were transported to area ATMs where the remaining balance on the jail issued debit card was withdrawn," the sheriff’s office said, noting that issuing debit cards following a release from jail is "normal procedure."

The sheriff’s office found the fraudulent charges totaled $14,700.

Authorities did not release the address of the Hardee's restaurant, but there is only one location in Michigan City on Franklin Street.

"The victims, who originally went to purchase food at the drive-thru of the Hardee’s, are working with their financial institutions to have the funds returned to them," the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities said the Warrants Division and Fugitive Apprehension Street Team, along with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force, arrested four of the suspects, while five other suspects were also arrested.

The sheriff’s office said Scott is the only suspect who has not yet been arrested. Members of the public are asked to come forward if they have any tips on Scott’s whereabouts.

"We are very fortunate Captain Hahn, and the Jail Administration caught the irregularities shortly after they began to occur before more citizens were victimized," the sheriff's office told Fox.

The McLaren team set a Formula 1 record by changing wheels in 1.8 seconds.
Thus, the team’s mechanics changed the wheels on driver Lando Norris ’s car in 1.8 seconds. McLaren broke the Red Bull record set in 2019 at the Brazilian Grand Prix, when changing the wheels of driver Max Verstappen cost 1.82 seconds.

“New world record! This is a testament to the tireless training and hard work of our excellent pit team,” McLaren CEO Zak Brown wrote on social media.

As reported by IA Regnum , the Dutch Red Bull team driver Max Verstappen became the Formula 1 champion for the third time, winning the Qatar Grand Prix sprint race.

Before Verstappen, only four drivers became champions three or more times in a row. Michael Schumacher won the championship from 2000 to 2004, Juan Manuel Fangio from 1954 to 1957, Sebastian Vettel from 2010 to 2013, and Lewis Hamilton from 2017 to 2020.

Driver who rammed car into San Francisco's Chinese consulate building shot, killed by police
BLUF: Man had knife, police concerned his car was a VBIED.
[FoxNews] A person accused of ramming a car into the lobby of the Chinese consulate in San Francisco, California, Monday evening is dead, according to San Francisco police.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was inside a car that came to rest inside the lobby of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, the San Francisco Police Department said in a media briefing on Monday. When SFPD officers entered the building and made contact with the suspect, gunfire erupted and the suspect was shot.

Officers rendered aid to the suspect until paramedics with the San Francisco Fire Department arrived for transport to the hospital, where the suspect later died.

"In spite of the lifesaving efforts of the police officers, firefighter/paramedics, and personnel at the hospital, the suspect was later pronounced deceased at the hospital," SFPD said.

Local news organization, The San Francisco Standard, spoke with Stanford student Sergii Molchanov, who was submitting documents to get a visa when the vehicle crashed into the building.

Molchanov told The Standard the driver’s head was bleeding, and when he got out of the car, he shouted, "Where’s the CCP?"

He was quickly approached by security guards who held his arms back, and while the student told the news organization he did not see a weapon on the driver, security guards were holding a knife.

"He looked at me, and I was a little bit scared because I didn’t know if he had any gun or something," Molchanov told The Standard.

People were seen fleeing the building on video captured by Molchanov. Also seen on video is the suspect, who appeared disheveled and bloody.

Molchanov also told The Standard he heard two gunshots.

Police were reportedly worried the suspect had an explosive device in the vehicle, and several police vehicles and emergency vehicles responded to the scene, along with bomb-sniffing dogs.

Who else will be shot in Ecuador: pre-election killings continue

[REGNUM] Friday evenings are famous for interesting events and are sometimes extremely far from the concept of tranquility. And the residents of Ecuador were once again convinced of this when they saw in the news information that all six suspects in the murder of presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio were killed during another riot in the Litoral prison. All six - by the way, citizens of Colombia - were arrested on the same day, August 9, not far from the scene of Villavicencio’s murder. The detainees were found in possession of large-caliber weapons, several grenades, boxes of ammunition, and, according to all the canons of the genre and the specifics of the region, drugs.

Europe
'Alternative' conquers Germany
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Petr Akopov

[RIA] Yesterday's state elections in Germany were a strong blow not only to the ruling cabinet, but also to the entire German political system. Because they showed the depth of the crisis in which she is.

Voters in Bavaria and Hesse - these two states account for almost 20 million people, that is, a quarter of the inhabitants of Germany - elected local parliaments. To the ruling parties in BerlinThe coalitions predicted poor results, but they turned out even worse than the polls showed. Chancellor Scholz's party, the SPD, gained only eight percent in Bavaria - yes, this land has never been the domain of the left, but they have never sunk to such a low result.

The Free Democrats, their partner in the federal coalition, do not enter the Bavarian Landtag at all: they have three percent. And even the Greens, the only party in the ruling coalition that had a strong position in Bavaria, worsened its result compared to the last elections and did not meet analysts' expectations: it had less than 15 percent. Moreover, they were promised a confident second place, but they came only fourth.

The Greens have exactly the same percentage in Hesse - there they are quite a bit behind the SPD. But for the latter, such a result (15 percent) cannot be considered a success: in the last elections they had 20 percent, and in the year before - 30! That is, over the course of a decade, the Social Democrats lost half of their voters. And who bought them? Who was the main winner of this election?

Maybe the CDU - CSU , which took first place in both states ? In Bavaria, the CSU took 37 percent, and in Hesse the CDU got 34—and they will remain in power. But the fact is that for the Bavarian party this is a very low result, repeating their failure in the last elections, and yet they have been ruling this largest German state forever. Now, like five years ago, they will have to create a coalition with “Free Voters,” whose leader they tried to accuse of neo-fascism, but this did not prevent the party from gaining 15 percent. However, the CDU-CSU cannot be considered the moral winner of these elections - the Alternative for Germany became it.

Harassed by the entire political elite and the state apparatus, isolated (it is impossible to form coalitions with it at any level) and called extremist, the party scored 14 percent in Bavaria, finishing third, and in Hesse - more than 18 percent, not only seriously improving its result, but also taking second place. But neither Bavaria nor Hesse are the electoral base of the AfD, unlike in the east of Germany, where its rating approaches 30 percent and even exceeds them. More precisely, they did not show up before these elections, because now these two West German states will make a significant contribution to the AfD’s ratings. At the federal level, it has confidently exceeded 20 percent. That is, the non-handshake party has become the second most popular party in Germany. And it will only continue to gain popularity, despite all attempts to stop her. Or rather, even thanks to them and the methods that are used against her.

During the election campaign in Bavaria, an attempt was made on the life of AfD co-chairman Tino Hrupalla: he was injected with a syringe containing an unknown substance, and another party leader, Alice Weidel, receives constant threats and is forced to avoid public events. Such intimidation methods will not help drive the AfD into a corner - and certainly will not scare voters away from the party.

Because in modern Germany there is a growing understanding that traditional, systemic parties (even those who call themselves “people’s”, as the SPD and CDU do) are not or cannot defend the national interests of their own country and their own people. Neither in domestic policy (and this applies not only to the reception of migrants), nor in foreign policy (and this applies not only to policy towards Russia ). But these systemic parties are capable of defaming and calling “pro-Russian” and “extremist” those who have the courage to defend their position - and more and more Germans are beginning to understand this. For whom the AfD in these conditions is no longer just an “alternative”, but a natural choice.

The traffic light went out. Elections in Bavaria show the mood of German voters
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Gregor Spitzen

[REGNUM] The significance of the elections to the Bavarian Landtag (Parliament of Bavaria) in terms of their influence on all German domestic politics is difficult to overestimate. The way voters in Germany's richest and most economically developed region vote is an objective reflection of the sentiments of the bulk of the German electorate.

Although the Bavarian elections certainly have their own peculiarities, the way other parties perform during the election campaign gives their political strategists a chance to draw the right conclusions and work on mistakes ahead of the elections to the Bundestag.

The main feature of the Bavarian regional elections is the almost unshakable position of the CSU party, or Christian Social Union, the sister party of the federal political force - the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), which, for its unshakable positions in the most important region for all of Germany, was allowed to increase its status as an equal partner in a single party that united almost all systemic German conservatives.

The CSU consistently shows excellent results in Bavaria, receiving at least a third of all votes, but this is not enough to independently form a regional government.

As a result, Christian Socialists have to block with other forces - for example, with the Free Voters Party, a political force of a liberal-conservative persuasion that has very limited popularity outside Bavaria.

If the CSU and the Free Voters entered into a coalition with the Alternative for Germany party, which, if we put aside prejudices and rabid accusations of Nazism, is very close to them in ideology based on right-wing conservative values, such a union could lead the Bavarian government without looking back on other political organizations in the region.

However, the picture of the preliminary election results last Sunday only adds to the intrigue ahead of the inevitable negotiations between the CSU and other parties to create a viable coalition.

So, according to preliminary results, the CSU party receives 37% of the votes of Bavarian voters, only slightly worsening its previous result (-0.2%).

Second place was taken by “Free Voters”, who received 15.8% (+4.2%), which is slightly higher than preliminary forecasts.

“Alternative for Germany” is in third place with a result of 14.6%, also significantly improving its results (+4.4%), which, however, was still not enough for second place.

In fourth position were the Greens with a result of 14.4%, a significant decline compared to the previous elections (-3.2%), and Chancellor Olaf Scholz's SPD party ended the campaign with the worst result in its regional history - 8.4% ( -1.3%).

Prime Minister of Bavaria, leader of the Christian Social Union (CSU) Markus Söder and his wife Karin Baumüller-Söder, election observer Wolfram Gaebisch (from left to right) during voting in the elections to the Bavarian Landtag.

The remaining political forces did not make it into the Landtag, showing results below the entry barrier and at the level of statistical error. Among them are the Free Democrats (FDP), which at the federal level form the ruling “traffic light” coalition with the Social Democrats and the Greens.

In the context of the past term, the picture of the electoral preferences of the residents of Bavaria, drawn by German sociologists from the Forschungsgruppe Wahlen Institute in collaboration with the ZDF channel on the eve of the elections, is very interesting.

The war in Ukraine, the recession in the German economy, the scandal with violence against the leaders of the Alternative for Germany, a difficult election campaign - all this may have caused voters to change their traditional choice this time.

As in the 2018 elections, the CSU is still the dominant party in all age groups. However, the results between younger and older people differ significantly. According to the survey results, Markus Soeder's party received almost half of all votes among people over 60 years old (in this age group, the CSU and Free Voters together gain more than 60%), but among those aged 18 to 29, the popularity of the CSU is more than two times lower.

“Alternative for Germany”, as in the state elections in 2018, receives the most votes of support among the most active category of citizens - those aged 30 to 44 years (19%). At the same time, support both among those who are younger and among those who are older is only slightly inferior.

In second place in popularity among Bavarian youth are the Greens, who receive almost as many votes as the CSU. The FDP is also relatively popular among young people under 30. So the chances of liberals getting into representative bodies of power in a country with a rapidly aging population are becoming increasingly lower.

In general, this situation confirms the thesis expressed by Sir Winston Churchill: “Whoever was not a liberal in his youth is a heartless person. Anyone who has not become a conservative by maturity is simply a fool.”

Considering that the liberal agenda is being intensively implanted in the minds of voters through the media, it is not surprising that young people, whom life in a well-fed and generally safe Germany has not yet forced to form a clear political position, more often vote with their hearts than with their minds.

Moreover, the higher the level of education, the fewer conservatives there are among voters: the Bavarian elections clearly confirmed this.

In the group of university graduates, the Greens are by a small margin the most representative force - 31%. The SPD and FDP also showed the highest results - 11% and 6% respectively.

A completely different situation is observed in the group of people with a certificate of incomplete secondary education: here the CSU and Free Voters achieved the greatest results - 43% and 19%, respectively. But the “greens” would not have gotten into the Landtag at all if only this group of voters had come to the polling stations.

The AfD, with 21%, ranks second behind the CSU among both voters with a junior high school diploma and voters with a high school diploma.

The parties of Germany's ruling traffic light coalition are clearly less popular among these groups. And here the results are also quite obvious for interpretation: people of working professions value stability above ephemeral problems such as concern for climate conservation, “green energy” and assistance to Ukraine, and therefore vote for conservative forces that are not inclined to revolutionary changes in the usual way of life.

The differences between men and women are much smaller than between different age and educational groups. The largest differences are observed in favor of the AfD: 18% of men surveyed voted for this party and only 13% of women. Among men, AfD took second place, among women - only fourth.

Bavarian workers voted more conservatively than all other occupational groups.

Here AfD showed its best result - 25%. The CSU and Free Voters are also strongly represented - 36% and 17% respectively. Thus, center-right parties account for almost 80% of the sympathies of the Bavarian working class. And the SPD, it seems, had to say goodbye to its main brand - the workers' party.

It is curious that among civil servants the Greens showed the highest level of support, while the AfD, on the contrary, shows the lowest result (9%).

Thus, the elections to the Bavarian Landtag helped to reveal the most important trend in the picture of preferences of German voters: the ruling “traffic light coalition”, from which disappointment is growing in all layers of German society, is losing ground on all fronts.

The somewhat hypocritical change from pacifist rhetoric to militaristic one, as well as thoughtless aid to Ukraine to the detriment of its own country, together with contradictory migration policies, could not but affect the ratings of all three of its main forces.

The conservative CDU/CSU, due to its old merits, political capital accumulated in Bavaria, and formal opposition to the current government, remains the leading political force, although its ratings are no longer as high as in the “golden” years of 1990–2000.

But the AfD party improves its results every year, sensitively sensing the mood of voters. It is likely that by the next elections to the Bundestag this political force will already occupy a solid second place.

Scholz to resign soon due to the results of regional elections in Germany
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Moscow , October 9, 2023, [Regnum] The anti-record of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in Hesse and Bavaria in the German regional elections was a serious blow to the image of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and predicts a weakening of the faction’s position in the government. Political analyst Alexander Sosnovsky shared this opinion in a conversation with IA Regnum.

Earlier, Spiegel reported that the Social Democratic Party of the German Chancellor broke an anti-record in the regional elections in the federal state of Hesse, gaining only 15.1% of the vote. The publication notes that this party has never received such a low share of votes in this region. It is reported that after the closing of polling stations in the parliamentary elections in Bavaria, the conservative parties CSU (Christian Social Union) are leading, and in Hesse - the CDU (Christian Democratic Union).

“The defeat in the elections to the state parliaments of Bavaria and Hesse is not just a failure of Scholz’s party, it is a deafening failure,” Sosnowski said.

He explained that when a German party gets about 10% of the votes or even less than that, then, according to tradition, it ceases to be considered a people's party. Therefore, the SPD already has a chance of losing its former advantages. In addition, as Sosnovsky noted, the election results in the federal states of Bavaria and Hesse cannot in any way be considered passable; on the contrary, they are of great importance. According to the analyst, Bavaria is one of the most important federal states in Germany, and Hesse is the center where significant financial institutions are located.

“The failure in Bavaria and Hesse means that in general the Social Democrats are practically dropping out of all kinds of coalitions for the future, including government ones. And this means that the leading party at government level can no longer rely on the federal states. But local parliaments form the basis for the passage of various laws and decisions through the bicameral system of German government. And of course this is a blow to the image of Scholz himself,” said the political analyst.

Sosnovsky noted that the figure of the German Chancellor is often criticized, fewer and fewer voters support his political decisions, and therefore he is no longer listed among popular politicians in Germany. In the current situation, which was revealed by the election results, Scholz will have to make serious decisions, the political scientist believes.

“He can pretend, as he usually does, that nothing happened. And serve until the end of his term as chancellor. But then he certainly won’t be re-elected, and his party probably won’t join the government coalition. Or he needs to take some serious steps that could change the rating of his party. Such steps could lead to his imminent resignation,” Sosnovsky admitted.

In this scenario, when the chancellor is trying to maintain at least the authority and position of his party, Scholz must immediately propose a candidate convenient both for himself and for society, who will immediately take his place. According to Sosnovsky, it could be German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

“This could save the Social Democrats. But this is unlikely, because Scholz is unlikely to give up his seat with salary, pension and other benefits,” the political analyst concluded.

As IA Regnum reported, on October 4, the N-TV channel warned that the elections in Bavaria and Hesse could be a failure for the SPD and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who represents this political force. A total of 19 million people live in these two federal states. Both regions have serious economic, social and political weight in Germany.

On October 6, Reuters, citing sources in the German government, reported that Berlin forecasts an economic decline of 0.4% by the end of 2023. It was noted that in April the German government predicted growth of 0.4% by the end of the year. Sources in the German government said that the current forecast was negatively affected by inflation indicators and high energy prices.

As reported by IA Regnum , earlier the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Olaf Scholz was driving the German chemical industry into bankruptcy with his actions. As the diplomat noted, today an entire sector of the German economy - the chemical industry, for which the country has always been famous - is on the verge of ruin.

Earlier, historian Tariq Cyril Amar pointed out in Newsweek that Germany would have to pay a “terrible price” for promoting anti-Russian policies to please the United States. The state of the German economy is causing concern in Germany - the management model is experiencing a crisis not only economically, but also politically.

On September 23, the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag published material with the results of a study by the Insa Institute, according to which the level of support for the German government among the population fell to 37%. This became a new anti-record since 2021, when Olaf Scholz became Chancellor of Germany.

Spiegel: Scholz's party suffers a historic defeat in Hesse

The Social Democratic Party (SPD) of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz broke the anti-record in the regional elections in the federal state of Hesse, gaining only 15.1% of the vote. The German publication Spiegel reported this on Monday, October 9

According to preliminary data, as the source said, in Hesse the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) won with 34.6% of the votes, the AfD came in second place with 18.4%, Olaf Scholz’s SPD party took only third place with a score of 15,1%.

“The SPD suffered a fiasco in the Landtag elections in Hesse... The party has never received such a low share of the vote in Hesse – even the poor result of 2018 was again significantly beaten,” Spiegel reported.

In addition, in the regional elections in the federal state of Bavaria, Olaf Scholz's party gained even less - 14.6%. In Bavaria, the Christian Social Union (CSU) won with 37% of the vote, according to results published by the local statistics office.

As reported by IA Regnum , on October 8, the ARD television channel, citing exit poll data, reported that in the parliamentary elections in the federal states of Hesse and Bavaria, after the closing of polling stations, the conservative parties CSU (Christian Social Union) - in Bavaria, and CDU (Christian Democratic Union) are in the lead. union) - in Hesse.

#2  Even the Swedes were so upset at the "migrants" and their crime spree that they forced the government to admit the Sweden Democrats (a sensible party.)

Germany is probably about 2 years behind, and Alternativ fu"r Deutschland will be in the government in about 2 years. They will have no choice.

#3  Unfortunately the AfD has veered towards a pro-Iran postition.

This is probably at the behest of their Russian paymasters who need political support.

They're paying lip service to criticism of Islam but objectively they're pro Islamization now.

They're no more pro Iran than the ruling bloc of "democratic" parties, but they certainly no longer are an "alternative."

*** the AfD and the horse they rode on.

Government Corruption
Senior Member of 51 'Intelligence Professionals' calls for removal of US Senator from 'human race'
[Red State] Former CIA Director and retired Gen. Michael Hayden seemed to call for the death of Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) Monday night.

Quoting a Twitter post that asked, "Should Tommy Tuberville be removed from his committee? Yes or No?" Hayden wrote, "How about the human race?"

Tuberville has been bullied by Senate Democrats and know-nothing pundits since last December over his opposition to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin's creation of an "abortion tourism benefit." As Streiff explained:

In July 2022, Lloyd Austin declared that the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs vs. Jackon Women's Health adversely impacted military readiness because if pregnant members of the Armed Forces couldn't kill their kids, they couldn't do their jobs. To do this, Austin created a program that allowed military women seeking abortion to be reimbursed for travel expenses and take up to 21 days off — that is not charged against their annual leave balance — for the purpose of having an abortion. On the other hand, if one of your parents dies and you wish to go to the funeral, you pay your own way and get charged for leave. This is a clear violation of federal laws that forbid using federal funds for abortion. In December 2022, Tuberville announced that he would place a "hold" on all senior military promotions.

All the hold does is prevent a few senior military officers from being confirmed in new positions by "unanimous consent." This means each nomination will get a cloture vote before proceeding to a floor vote.

Unlike many Republicans, Tuberville has remained steadfast in his opposition and continues to place holds on senior military promotions. Hayden's retired. What does he care? Or is Tuberville blocking nominees for whom Hayden greased the skids?

Well, they can't. Back before insanity took hold, a pregnant WAC was honorably discharged and given VA benefits for the process to complete.

#2  ^ You must be thinking of the days when they could still recruit enough men to defend the country.

#3  But the real story here is the lack of honesty and tolerance for the opinions of the political opposition. Hayden's remarks are a peek at the tyranny they would impose on America. My own tolerant and honest opinion is that those 51 former "intelligence professionals" should be removed from their pensions. Let them live on the lies they've written into books and the lies they tell on cable TV news channels.
