[BLAZE] New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced in a media briefing Friday afternoon that open and conceal carry laws in the city of Albuquerque and the surrounding county were being suspended for 30 days.
The Democrat said that several incidents involving young children being shot led her to announce the emergency public health order.
Senate Republican Leader Greg Baca lambasted the governor for the order.
"A child is murdered, the perpetrator is still on the loose, and what does the governor do? She throws the mayor of Albuquerque under the bus and then targets law-abiding citizens with an unconstitutional gun order," said Baca.
"Tragically, this is what we have come to expect from an administration that refuses to take responsibility for the crime epidemic gripping our state. It is time for the governor to stop pointing fingers and admit that her soft-on-crime approach has failed and put the safety of all New Mexicans in great jeopardy."

This will likely be followed by "temporary bans" on firearms ownership. Grisham will not be the last governor to "temporarily" restrict Second Amendment Rights.

Does absolutely nothing to stop the miscreants and disarms the decent citizens of self defense. Spending 750k to 'study' the problem. The police chief said send me more prosecutors not this. We know what the underlying cause of the rise. Instead of this, if she had issued a 10pm-5am curfew for all those under 18 years of age it would shut down much of the problem. She had no problem with issuing a 2 week lock down fiat.

Appears the country is literally at a fork in the road. Freedom and liberty on one trail, totalitarian socialism on the other. If these SOB's cannot be stopped, the Republic is finished. Sadly, the Deep State quest for control of both the political process and the citizenry appears to be working. I am not hopeful.

Unless a "crapton" of openly rmed citizens drive a convoy through Albuquerque this weekend, openly disobeying the runt-Governor's tyrannical over-reach, this technique will pop up all over urban wastelands.
The fraying of the rule of law continues my friend!

[IsraelTimes] Report shows indictments were supported for individuals who weren’t ultimately charged, including Kelly Loeffler, David Perdue, ex-Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn
A report released on Friday revealed that a special grand jury investigating efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 presidential election results recommended indictments against a much larger group than prosecutors ultimately charged, including one current and two former US senators.
The nine-page report showed jurors recommended charges against 39 people, compared to the 18 who were charged along with former President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... . Those not indicted included Republican US Sen. Lindsey Graham ...soft-spoken senator from South Carolina, former best buddy of John Maverick McCain. Since McCain's demise, Graham has become more outspoken, more Republican and more of a supporter of President Trump. The speech he gave in support of Brett Kavanaugh was downright manly and really cheesed off the Dems... of South Carolina, former US Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue of Georgia and former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn.
Parts of the report, which has 19 pages of appendices, had been released in February, but a judge had delayed the release of any recommendations for specific charges against specific people until after last month’s indictment. While most of the intrigue in the inner workings of the case has diminished with the filing of charges, it is notable that the special grand jury recommended charges for many people who were not actually indicted.
A spokesperson for Trump, the early front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, criticized the release in a statement, calling it "biased, un-American."
Graham, Loeffler, Perdue and a lawyer who has represented Flynn did not immediately return messages seeking comment Friday.
The special grand jury included Graham’s name in a section about "the national effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election, which Trump lost to Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing... , a Democrat. The South Carolina Republican called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger shortly after the November 2020 election. Raffensperger has said Graham asked him about whether he had the power to reject certain absentee ballots.
Perdue and Loeffler were sitting US senators who had failed to win enough votes in the November 2020 general election and were forced into a January 2021 runoff, which they both ultimately lost to Democratic challengers. In the weeks after the election, they were vocal in their criticism of Raffensperger, going so far as to call for his resignation.
In an interview on a right-wing cable news channel in mid-December 2020, Flynn said Trump "could take military capabilities" and place them in swing states and "basically re-run an election in each of those states." He also traveled to the South Carolina home of conservative lawyer Lin Wood in November 2020, when Wood has said meetings were held to discuss possible ways to influence the election results in Georgia and elsewhere.
The panel spent seven months hearing from some 75 witnesses before completing a report in December with recommendations for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on charges related to attempts to overturn the election. Willis had said she needed the panel’s subpoena power to compel the testimony of witnesses who might otherwise not have been willing to appear.
The release of the identities of people recommended for indictment is a departure from ordinary grand jury protocol, which dictates that prosecutors do not disclose the names of individuals investigated but not charged so as to prevent potentially innocent subjects from being unduly maligned.
Special grand juries in Georgia are relatively uncommon and are essentially an investigative tool. They do not have the power to bring an indictment but rather can produce a report with recommendations that are not binding on a district attorney, who must seek an indictment from a regular grand jury to bring charges against anyone.

Graham will probably skate on the legal theory that nothing that a Senator does or says can be held against him. He can cite his entire career as legal precedent.
Georgia has jumped the shark with trying to hold Uniparty RINOs accountable. I guess Loeffler and Perdue are sort of minor league Senators as well. None of them even really like Trump despite Graham’s long record of sucking up to him. Maybe we can get Liz Cheney’s take on this new development.

I don't think those not actually charged have to do any "skating" at all...

All you need to know about the quality of that Grand Jury's thinking:
[Federalist] In the Biden White House, illegal immigration is simply politics: The politics of broader electoral viability, the politics of future voting demographics, the politics of appeasing the base, and most recently, the politics of retribution. This latest phase entered the scene this week, with the administration’s reported plan to force the millions of illegal immigrants streaming over the border to remain in Texas.
But the politics goes back to the beginning when the former vice president was sharing a debate stage with the next generation of Democrat leaders. His old boss had put a boil under the long-simmering issue with his extra-congressional amnesty for "dreamers." President Barack Obama empowered radical immigration activists who would eventually shout him down in his own White House — and push the party’s national slate hard to the left. By the time of the 2020 primaries, Joe Biden alone stood against all of their wildest reforms, including decriminalizing illegal crossings and abolishing Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Though he was old, noticeably slowing down, and had been repeatedly passed over by President Barack Obama and the rest of the poobahs, party leadership knew they needed to play on more centrist positions to compete in the general election. Aged and unwanted would take a backseat to hard power: Joe Biden was their man.
Of course, expanding third-world immigration had long been part of the Democrats’ plan. Decades before Tucker Carlson was excoriated for pointing it out, Ruy Teixeira and John Judis’s smash book, The Emerging Democratic Majority, listed the relative rise of immigrant America as one of the keys to the kingdom. Clinton strategist James Carville’s follow-up, 40 More Years—How Democrats Will Rule the Next Generation, took a sharp point and blunted it into a club. Carville’s thesis, that "Demographic change will keep swelling the Democratic ranks until Republicans have little choice but to surrender," Teixeira lamented in 2020, "is a narrative I know well, for it is based on a bowdlerization of my own work."
By the election of President Donald Trump, Teixeira had grown dismayed with how Democrats had treated his theory, betraying the white working-class voters he believed their coalition still required in the name of newcomers and illegals.

They make it up as they go along. It will be difficult to explain how it's OK to keep the illegals out of blue areas that already avidly declared themselves "sanctuaries" while requiring that they be allowed to roam at will in other areas.
Of course, there are always judges willing to twist the law into a pretzel to permit whatever the left wants while ignoring the law entirely when it "gets in the way."

Biden’s immigration plan, like all his schemes will work as well as an ACME rocket ski jump. When I was a young hoser, before I attained super status, I used to try to shortcut the hosing process by trying to hose the vomit, trash and detritus uphill. It never worked because of the natural forces of gravity and fluid dynamics. The natural force that dominates immigration if socialism in the form of free stuff doled out by liberals in their flagship cities. Jose and Ahmed are not surviving the Durien gap, abandoning their little sister at the raping tree and then settling for Albuquerque because Mayorkas sent them a text to stay away from California.

[BLAZE] The Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security announced on Wednesday that $20 million would be awarded to a number of organizations, including minority and LGBT groups, for "targeted violence and terrorism prevention."
The grants, awarded in the name of "equity," will be provided to 34 organizations through the Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program for Fiscal Year 2023 and administered by the DHS Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
In a Wednesday press release, the DHS said the funding aimed to help local communities "develop and strengthen their capabilities in combatting targeted violence and terrorism." Show us the Trans asshole's manifesto!
Their purpose is simply to reverse all Trump initiatives, and work to prevent more of the same when the Republicans return to power.
[ShafaqNews] On Thursday, the Biden administration announced the cancellation of permits for oil and gas field development in the Arctic region of Alaska, which former President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... had granted during his final days in office.
President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. The very model of propity.... 's decision effectively revoked permits for energy development in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, citing the urgent need to address the global climate crisis. Biden emphasized, "The Arctic is warming at a rate twice as fast as the rest of the world, and we have a responsibility to protect this invaluable region."
US Secretary of the Interior, Debra Haaland confirmed that seven permits issued by the Trump administration had been canceled. These permits had been suspended by the Biden administration in 2021, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
Before the official announcement, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named, citing insider sources, reported that President Biden was planning to impose restrictions on the development and investment of oil and gas fields in the Arctic Ocean and Alaska.
These restrictions are expected to include a prohibition on drilling for oil and gas in 1.2 million hectares of the Arctic Ocean and a ban on exploration in other ocean areas within US territorial waters. Additionally, President Biden intends to restrict investment and development in oil and gas fields across a vast area of 5.3 million hectares in Alaska.
