Taliban Says Huawei to Install Cameras to Locate Militants
[Bloomberg] Afghanistan’s Taliban
...Arabic for students...
-led government is working with Huawei Technologies to install a wide-ranging surveillance system across the country in an effort to identify and target bully boyz or terrorism activities, according to a person familiar with the discussions.

Representatives of the Shenzhen-headquartered tech company met with Interior Ministry officials on Aug. 14, the person said, and a verbal agreement was reached regarding the contract.

The Interior Ministry initially posted images and details of the meeting on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. In one post, front man Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani said the advanced camera system was being considered "in every province of Afghanistan."

The posts, which were later deleted, included comments from Abdullah Mukhtar, the deputy minister of the ministry. "We are willing to accept projects that are better in terms of quality and price," he said.

"Reports on this meeting are factually incorrect. No plans or agreements were discussed," Huawei said in an emailed statement. Spokesmen for the Taliban did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The person familiar with the meeting, who asked not to be identified to discuss the agreement, said the system was largely meant to track down members of ISIS in Afghanistan, as well as other holy warriors.

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. The group also struck a hotel in Afghanistan’s capital often frequented by Chinese nationals, and had threatened to target the Chinese, Indian and Iranian embassies in the country, according to a recent United Nations

Niger's junta expels French, German ambassadors
[AFRICANEWS] Niger’s junta ordered La Belle France's envoy to leave the country within 48 hours on Friday (Aug. 25), the foreign ministry said.

The statement read that the decision to expel ambassador Sylvain Itte was taken partly due to his refusal to respond to an invitation to a meeting with Niger’s minister of foreign affairs on Friday.

The statement also cited "actions by the French government contrary to Nigers' interests ", without elaborating.

The country's military rulers deposed President Mohammed Bazoum on July 26.

In early August, the junta said it will scrap various military cooperation deals with La Belle France that were made under the ousted President.

La Belle France, ECOWAS and the UN among others have called for Bazoum to be reinstated.

Instead, the junta appointed a new government and said it will return the country to democratic rule within 3 years.

Niamey's regime has accused Gay Paree of planning a military intervention in the country to reinstate Bazoum. They also claimed the West African bloc ECOWAS was "in La Belle France's pay".

La Belle France is Niger's former colonial ruler.

La Belle France has deployed 1,500 men to back president Bazoum in his fight against terrorism that has destabilized much of the Sahel.

Niger rebels demand German ambassador to leave country
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The military, who came to power in Niger, put forward a demand to the German ambassador in Niamey to leave the country within 48 hours. This was reported on August 25 by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

"The military regime is giving the German ambassador 48 hours to leave," the Niger Foreign Ministry, which is under the control of the rebels, quoted the agency as saying.

There has been no response from the German Ambassador or the German Foreign Ministry so far.

Earlier, IA Regnum reported that the rebels who came to power in Niger put forward a similar demand against the French ambassador in Niamey, Sylvain Itte. The diplomat was ordered to leave Niger within 48 hours.

The request of the Niger rebels to the French ambassador in Niamey to leave the country was noted in Paris, and it was indicated that the military that came to power did not have the authority to make such a demand.

French Foreign Ministry took note of the demand of the rebels in Niger

The request of the Niger rebels to the French ambassador in Niamey to leave the country was noted in Paris, and it was indicated that the military that came to power did not have the authority to make such a request. This was reported on August 25 by Agence France-Presse (AFP) with reference to a statement by the French Foreign Ministry.

“France took note of the demand of the putschists. The putschists do not have the authority to make such a request, the legitimate elected authorities of Niger are responsible for accrediting the ambassador, ”the French Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Earlier , IA Regnum reported that the leaders of the rebels who carried out a coup d'etat in Niger put forward an ultimatum to the French Ambassador to Niamey, Sylvain Itta, to leave the country within 48 hours.

The new head of Niger, General Abdurahman Tchiani, during a meeting with the foreign ministers of Mali and Burkina Faso who arrived in the country, signed a decree "allowing the defense and security forces of Burkina Faso and Mali to operate on the territory of Niger in the event of aggression."

An ECOWAS delegation arrived in Niger on August 19, intending to act as mediators in resolving the situation in the country. At the same time, the day before, representatives of the community stated that they had already set a date for a military intervention in Niger, which would take place if the issue was not resolved peacefully.

However, the very next day, August 20, a delegation from the Economic Community of West Africa (ECOWAS) left Niger after negotiations with the rebels failed.

Europe
Denmark scrambles to legislate against Quran burnings amid terror alerts
[GEO.TV] The Danish government on Friday said it has prepared a bill that — if passed — could lead to a countrywide ban on Koran burning
...One of the basic tenets of Islam is that once a Koran has been printed it is expected to last for all time, no matter how old, ratty, and smelly other, lesser holy books may become. Should it actually become necessary to put a Koran out of its misery there is a ritual that includes extensive charivari, featuring long drawn-wailing and head bonking, ritual wife beating, and the sacrifice of dozens of women's noses and pubic lips. When the actual disposal has been completed there is a prescribed period of celebratory gun sex with the expectation of a minimum of two hundred casualties. Should actual infidels dispose of a Koran, Islamic custom calls for three weeks of rioting and a minimum of three dozen dead, which is a holdover from the days of Moloch worship....
s, amidst rising terror threats and outrage in the Moslem world.

The bill is yet to be presented in the country's parliament.
Oh. So it’s a bright idea rather than an actuality. Let us know should it actually be signed into law.
Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, told Danish radio that the move sends an "important political signal" to the rest of the world, reported Al Jazeera.
And a different one if it doesn’t actually pass...
Under the new bill, burning a Koran would be a crime subject to penalties or a maximum sentence of two years in jail.

Peter Hummelgaard, the justice minister, explained that the proposed law is intended to be written into the same regulation that currently bans the desecration of other countries’ flags.

The Danish law would prohibit the "improper treatment of objects of significant religious significance to a religious community", he said.

Hummelgaard, speaking at a presser, said that a spate of recent Koran burnings were "senseless taunts" aimed to incite "discord and hatred", adding that national security was the primary "motivation" for the ban.

Denmark and Sweden have seen a string of protests in public in recent weeks where copies of the Koran have been burned or otherwise damaged, prompting outrage in Moslem nations which have demanded the Nordic governments put a stop to the burnings, reported Rooters.

Nawaz to return to Pakistan in October, confirms Shehbaz after London meeting
[GEO.TV] Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif
...served two three non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf, then by the courts...
will return to Pakistain in October, confirmed party President Shehbaz Sharif after holding a huddle in London.

"Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistain in October and lead the election campaign," the former prime minister told the media alongside his elder brother. However he did not confirm a specific date of Nawaz’s return.

On the other hand, family sources, told Geo News ahead of the meeting, that Nawaz is expected to return to Pakistain on October 15 of this year as per the family discussions.

According to the sources, the date was discussed between Nawaz, Shehbaz and close family members in London to decide that the PML-N supremo will return to Pakistain in mid-October.

Previously, Geo News reported that Nawaz will return to Pakistain by mid-September; however, there has been a change of plan in the last few days after the Election Commission of Pakistain (ECP) announced that elections are not possible within 90 days.

Sierra Leone to open embassy in Jerusalem
More normalcy! All gratitude to President Trump, who moved the Overton Window far enough that the Biden administration has not been able to move it back.
[IsraelTimes] Sierra Leone said Friday that it would open an embassy in Jerusalem, making the West African nation the sixth to commit to basing its diplomatic mission in the Israeli capital.

The announcement came in a statement from President Julius Maada Bio following a conversation Thursday with Foreign Minister Eli Cohen.

"They discussed the warm relations between both countries that date back to 1961 when Sierra Leone gained independence. As part of efforts to strengthen the relationship between the two nations, His Excellency President Bio expressed his government’s readiness to establish an Embassy of Sierra Leone in Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Israel," The statement said.

Currently, the US, Guatemala Honduras and Kosovo have embassies in Jerusalem, while Paraguay announced last week it would reopen its embassy there too. Israel sees the moves as strengthening its claim to the city as its capital, though most foreign countries situate their embassies in or around Tel Aviv.

#2  Indeed, Grom. This is one of the articles in Rantburg’s archives on the US State Department’s — and others — support of support of the international “Progressive” movement’s Israeli branches in an ongoing effort to drive out Bibi Netanyahu and even before that to put the country back in Socialist hands. We’ve been paying attention to this thing from the beginning — I deeply resent Democratic-controlled government interference that goes to the point of trying to destroy Israel altogether.

Informal US-Iran oil agreement takes effect, impacting global markets and diplomacy
[Shafaq News] An undisclosed arrangement between the United States and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
to stabilize oil prices has commenced implementation following months of confidential negotiations. This accord, reached through discreet diplomacy, not only addresses oil flows but has also shown progress in exchanging prisoners and releasing frozen assets.

According to Bloomberg report, Tehran's recent oil exports were monitored, revealing challenges Iran faces in boosting its exports due to logistical hurdles and difficulties accessing international banking systems. These factors hinder Iran's ability to access funds and obtain insurance for shipping, curtailing its oil trade.
