At least 13 Shaboobs killed in an operation in Lower Juba
[GOOBJOOG] At least thirteen al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
snuffies have been killed in an operation by the Somali National Army’s Danaab Commandos at the outskirts of Yaaqdabayl village in Lower Jubba region.

Danab Commando’s Commander Lt. Col. Ahmed Abdullahi NUr while confirming the incident said the government forces also seized seven AK47 rifles, one rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), and one PMK machine gun during the operation.

This comes amidst an ongoing war by the Somali National Army against the al-Shabaab snuffies as the national forces prepare to take over from the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...

On Tuesday, troops from the Burundi National Defense Forces (BNDF) handed over the Haji-Ali Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Hirshabelle to the Somali National Army in a ceremony attended senior SNA, ATMIS and UNSOS officers.

The drawdown of the 2000 ATMIS troops is expected to be concluded by the end of June.

#1  If the Danaab can clear Lower Juba (the former Italian Oltre Giuba) it will cleanse the Kenya-Somalia borderland, much to the benefit of both nations. In doing so, the far one-third south of Somalia will be taken from the rebels, and the government force can concentrate on the two sectors to the north that it must cleanse next.

ONLF accuses Ethiopian Army officer of killing 4 in Kebri Dehar city
[GOOBJOOG] Æthiopia’s Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) has claimed that an Æthiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) officer indiscriminately fired at civilians Kebri Dehar city, in Somali regional state, killing at least four people.

In a statement via tweeter, the opposition party further claimed that three of the four victims killed by the soldier were its members, while the remaining one was a local official of the ruling Prosperity Party (PP). According to the ONLF, two others were also injured in the incident which took place this morning.

"This is no isolated incident — last May, a similar terror struck the same town, injuring two young lives. Today, the rampage continued unabated for over an hour, leaving 8 more victims in its wake before the perpetrator was stopped after damage," OLNF said, and called on "the federal government and the Æthiopian army for immediate, concrete, and effective actions to cease these violations."

It further said that "absence of definitive action against these assaults could risk inciting rebellion among the Somali people.

"The message is clear: Enough is enough. Our patience shouldn’t be mistaken for weakness." The party did not provide the names of victims," the ONLF’s statement adds.

South Sudan silent on RSF's 3-day ultimatum to shut down oil pipeline
[SUDANTRIBUNE] South Sudan refrained from commenting on reports that the Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF) issued a three-day ultimatum to shut down oil pipelines in the militia-controlled areas unless South Sudan shares oil revenues or halts payment of transit fees to the military-led government.

Mayen Wol Jong, Sudan’s undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, stated to Sudan Tribune on Monday that oil continues to flow to international markets, with Sudan being the guarantor and protector of all oil infrastructure passing through its territory.

"As of now, the oil is continuing to flow. There are no disruptions," said Jong in response to media reports.

He declined to provide further comments regarding the RSF’s conditions for the oil to continue flowing through Sudanese territory. None of the parties involved have officially confirmed these reports. However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
officials familiar with the situation informed Sudan Tribune last week that RSF representatives have been pressuring for a share of the rental and transit fees.

Lual Achuek Deng, a member of parliament from South Sudan, expressed concerns on Saturday about the ongoing conflict in Sudan, fearing it could negatively impact oil revenue generation. Deng, a former Sudanese Minister of Petroleum prior to secession in 2011, shared his views with United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
-sponsored Radio Miraya during a discussion on the annual budget. He suggested that the conflict in Sudan might have contributed to the delay in presenting the budget to parliament.

Observers and economic analysts have voiced concerns over the potential risks to South Sudan’s economy and budget, as the conflict between the RSF and the Sudanese armed forces puts its oil, the mainstay of the economy, at risk.

The RSF has demanded that South Sudan either stop funding the sovereign council’s military leadership or share resources, or the pipeline infrastructure will be shut down.

This presents a critical dilemma for South Sudan, with fears that the RSF may disrupt the oil flow if their demands are not addressed in time. Compliance could lead to retaliation from the Sudanese armed forces, potentially preventing South Sudan’s oil export through Port Sudan and crippling the nation’s economy. Conversely, if South Sudan continues to provide funds, the RSF threatens to shut down the pumping station at Heglig, obstructing the oil flow to the port of Sudan.

The RSF controls the pumping stations at Heglig of South Kordofan, while the Sudanese armed forces oversee the transport routes to the port of Sudan, where the oil is loaded onto cargo ships for international sale. The consequences of a shutdown would be enormous, affecting the government’s ability to function and provide essential services to the people.

#1  This article is unclear. The Government of the Sudan controls the Heglig oil field in South Kordofan. Close by, and to the south of it and across the internationally respected border is the Unity field, and it is controlled by the government of the southern Sudanese. The South does not manage the Heglig pumping station which sends its oil through a long pipeline on to the Red Sea. Thus, if the RSF closes down the pipeline it will of course affect the movement of oil to market from South Sudan, but there is damned little (next to nothing) the southerners can do about it.

Arabia
Saudi Arabia executes yet another young man from Shia-majority region of Qatif
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Saudi authorities have executed a young man from the Shia-populated Qatif region over trumped-up allegations of involvement in terrorist activities, as part of a heavy-handed crackdown led by Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s crown prince against political dissidents.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced in a statement on Monday that the death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
was carried out against Moslem bin Ahmed bin Musallam al-Milad.

"Al-Milad, a Saudi national, joined a terrorist cell, which at times got into confrontations with security forces and carried out armed attacks on them," the statement alleged.

The statement claimed that al-Milad has "undermined domestic security," and "traded in firearms and narcotics."

It further alleged that the young man "supported people wanted for armed festivities with security forces, financed terrorism and terrorist acts, and harbored wanted criminals."

The Saudi national was initially referred to the kingdom’s Specialized Criminal Court, where he was found guilty of charges leveled against him, and handed down a death sentence, which was upheld on appeal, it added.

Earlier this month, Saudi Arabia announced the execution of three people in the Shia-populated Eastern Province over fabricated charges.

Hussein bin Ali bin Muhammad al-Mohishi, Fazel bin Zaki bin Hossein Ansif, and Zakaria bin Hassan bin Muhammad al-Mohishi received the death penalty
.

Saudi Arabia’s oil-rich and predominantly Shia Eastern Province has been the scene of peaceful demonstrations since February 2011.

Protesters demand reforms, freedom of expression, the release of political prisoners, and an end to economic and religious discrimination against the region.

The protests have been met with a heavy-handed crackdown, with regime forces increasing security measures across the province.

Ever since Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince and modernizer of Saudi Arabia as of 2016. The Turks hate him, so he must be all right, despite the occasional brutal murder of Qatar-owned journalists...
became Saudi Arabia’s de facto leader in 2017, the kingdom has ramped up arrests of activists, bloggers, intellectuals, and others perceived as political opponents.

It shows almost zero tolerance for dissent even in the face of international condemnations of the crackdown.

As a result, Moslem scholars have been executed and women’s rights campaigners have been put behind bars and tortured as freedoms of expression, association, and belief continue to be denied.

Local official survives assassination attempt in Aden
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] A local official in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition survived an liquidation attempt on Tuesday while he was in a vocational institute in the center of Aden city, southern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
.

The Director of Technical Education in Aden Province, Muhammad Salem al-Shakliya, confirmed in a statement to the media that he had been targeted by an liquidation attempt while he was in a vocational institute in the Khor Maksar area by a person who demanded his financial rights.

The statement stated that the attacker broke one of the institute walls, and when al-Shakliyya was about to leave the institute, he hurriedly pointed his weapon at him, but the weapon was taken from him and deposited with the director of legal affairs in the office.

The director of technical education submitted a report to the security authorities loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, but they have not carried out any measures to arrest the accused, according to the statement

Europe
France to shut down climate NGO after protest violence
[Al Ahram] The French government said Tuesday that it would shut down an activist climate group over a series of recent demonstrations including one that led to fierce festivities with police over a controversial irrigation project.

Government front man Olivier Veran accused the Uprisings of the Earth (SLT) coalition of encouraging violence at protests in March against an irrigation reservoir near Sainte-Soline in western La Belle France.

"You don't dissolve an association because of its ideas. You dissolve it because there is violence or a risk for public safety," Veran told CNews television.

SLT denounced "a very political and extremely worrying dissolution that was demanded from the head of state by the agriculture industry and the FNSEA" farmers' union.

"This is a vain attempt to break the thermometer instead of worrying about the temperature," it said.

President Emmanuel Macron, who has defended reservoir projects like the one at Sainte-Soline, said in March that while many of the protesters at the site were peaceful, "you had thousands of people who simply came to wage war".

Veran said SLT "whipped up violence at Sainte Soline by inviting rioters, who came from across Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
with metal bars and petanque balls to try and kill coppers".

"The climate question does not justify throwing rocks at police in a field," he said.

SLT is a coalition of several activist associations, which was also behind a recent protest against a sand quarry in western La Belle France where protesters tore up fields and equipment at a farm.

The group was also one of several organisers of a banned demonstration at the weekend against a new rail link between the eastern city of Lyon and Turin in Italia.

It is part of a new wave of more radical climate activist groups, including Extinction Rebellion,
…a well financed, very international eco-terrorism branch of the Black Bloc movement that sometimes goes by Antifa…
which use direct action to underline their warnings about the dangers to the planet.

On Tuesday, prosecutors also said they had detained 14 people for questioning over vandalism at a protest supported by SLT, against a Lafarge cement plant near the southern city of Marseille.

Protesters called the company "one of the most destructive in the world".

Government forces kill, injure brothers in Syria%u2019s Daraa
[NPASYRIA] Syrian government forces killed on Tuesday a man and injured his brother in the city of al-Sheikh Maskin in the countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press that the government forces fatally shot at Salah al-Hamlan and injured his brother Rashed on the outskirts of al-Sheikh Maskin.

The government forces carried the dear departed’s body away and transferred the injured, who was in a critical condition, to the Public Hospital in Daraa, the source added.

The two brothers, who hail from Bedouin tribes in the Governorate of Suwayda, had been living in Daraa for several years, the source noted.

They are accused of killing two coppers, Ahmad Zakariya al-Wadi and Imad Muhammad al-Safadi, on June 14 and 15, according to the same source.

State-run SANA News Agency reported that security forces managed to arrest the leader of a "terrorist" cell, whereas one of its members, who was accused of killing two coppers and a soldier was, killed.

Since the government forces re-captured Daraa in 2018, the governorate has been living in a state of insecurity, with daily liquidations targeting soldiers and officers of the government forces, as well as the spread of thefts.

AANES announces its officials killed in Turkish drone strike
[NPASYRIA] The Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced on Tuesday, in a statement, that several of its officials were killed in a Ottoman Turkish dronezap in Qamishli, northeastern Syria.

This morning, a Ottoman Turkish drone targeted a vehicle carrying officials of the AANES near the village of Beyandur, east of Qamishli. The attack killed the Co-chair of the Qamishli Region Council, Yusra Darwish; the Deputy Co-chair, Leyman Shouish; and their driver, Farat Toma; as well as injuring the other Co-chair, Gabi Shamoun, on their way to visiting AANES institutions.

The attack coincides with the AANES decision to begin trials for foreign ISIS detainees. The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
, "the sponsor of terrorism," the AANES statement reads, does not want to be exposed for "supporting and providing an incubating environment for ISIS in [its] occupied areas [in northern Syria]."

The AANES called on the guarantor states of the 2019 ceasefire agreement — the US and Russia — to assume their responsibility in implementing the deal and to "stop the terrorism conducted by the Ottoman Turkish occupation state."

The statement added that Turkey wants "to destabilize the region, undermine efforts to defeat ISIS, empty the area of its original inhabitants, and strike at the Autonomous Administration’s project."

Since June 12, Turkey has escalated its shelling and dronezaps against northern Syria, targeting 35 sites with more than 50 projectiles, and causing the loss of dozens of lives, according to a tally by the Monitoring and Documentation Department at North Press.

On September 27, 2022, two AANES officials bit the dust in a Ottoman Turkish drone attack targeting a vehicle in the eastern countryside of Qamishli.
