95% people eat insufficiently in Afghanistan: UN
[Khaama] hard to believe Allah won't adequately provide for his chosen, Maybe they need sporks? Naaaahh... especially 100% of the wymyn's families? I thought they were protected under the new "sensitive" Talibanese?
United Nations has expressed concern over food insecurity, food insufficiency, and the humanitarian crisis in large and added that 95 of the Afghan population cannot eat sufficiently while the percentage is one hundred in female-headed households.

The UN has said that the number of those experiencing acute hunger rose to 23 million in March 2022 from 14 million in July 2021.

Deputy Special Representative for the Secretary-General and President Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator Ramiz Alakbarov in a press release made public on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, said that acute hunger in Afghanistan has led people to resort to desperate measures as skipping meals or taking high debts.

Ramiz Alakbarov in particular said that the situation has adversely affected children in Afghanistan wherein 3.5 million minors need nutrition treatment.

"Hospital wards are filled with children suffering from malnutrition, smaller than they should be, many weighing at one year what an infant of six months would weigh in a developed country, and some are so weak that they are not able to move." Said Alakbarov in the statement.

The Deputy Special Representative further added, continued drought, financial and banking systems are other contributors to the crisis. The latter has made 80 percent of Afghan people facing debt.

Calling on the World Community to increase the level of humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, Alakbarov acknowledged that the UN and humanitarian partners will scale up response activities reaching remote areas of Afghanistan.

It comes as the United Nations, UK, Germany, and Qatar are holding a conference on March 31 that will be concentrated on Afghanistan’s situation.

#1
Remember a large part of the Afghan food and other issues is being caused by their new religious focused roughshod leadership.

While feeling bad as an American for the mess that the Biden Admin left in Afghanistan. Given the USA has already pumped in more than $500 million in humanitarian assistance for the people of Afghanistan since Biden stole office. I ask ...
Where did it all go?

Note: The USA is the largest financial provider at 22+% for the entire UN budget. There should be enough $$$$ to handle some world hunger issues.

SIDE NOTE:
Given the USDA's own cited 40+ Million number of USA Citizens living in hunger. We also have our own hunger issue here in the USA. Along with growing common food item shortages and/or food prices exceeding many USA family incomes.

Shouldn't we focus on saving our own people before others?

Pentagon prosecutors working on deal to SAVE 9/11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and his accomplices from death penalty before his Guantanamo Bay trial
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Guilty pleas in exchange for a life sentence could finally bring to a close the over two decade-long case, the longest ever at the war court

  • The cases have been bogged down in pretrial proceedings due to the CIA's use of terrorism, but plea agreements could ignite fury from 9/11 families

  • The al-Qaeda terrorists have been charged with terrorism; hijacking aircraft; conspiracy; murder in violation of the law of war; attacking civilians and more

  • The five men were allegedly directly involved with hijacking four airplanes and carrying out the coordinated attacks across the US that led to the death of 2,977

  • They are: Khalid Shaikh Mohammed,
...also Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, Mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. He was captured in Faisalabad, Pakistain in 2002 and interned at Guantanamo...
Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin Attash,
... Walid bin Attash and Waleed bin Attash, a Yemeni who ran an al-Qaeda training camp in Logar, Afghanistan, where two of the 19 hijackers were trained. Bin Attash is believed to have been bin Laden's bodyguard. Authorities say bin Laden selected him as a hijacker, but he was prevented from participating when he was briefly detained in Yemen in early 2001...
    Ramzi Bin al-Shibh ,
...a.k.a. Ramzi ibn Al-Shaiba, senior Al Qaeda man involved in the famous Hamburg cell. The unhandsome Yemeni helped find flight schools for the hijackers, helped them enter the United States, and assisted with financing the operation. He was supposed to be a hijacker, but was unable to get a U.S. visa. He also took the lead in a foiled plot to crash aircraft into London's Heathrow Airport...
    Ali Abdul Aziz Ali,
...KSM’s nephew and one of KSM’s many relatives in the Karachi cell, also known as Ammar al-Balochi, helped nine of the hijackers travel to the United States and sent them money for expenses and flight training. He was also part of the Heathrow team ...
and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi ,
... also Mustafa al-Hawsawi, Mustafa Ahmad al-Hawsawi, Mustapha Ahmed al-Hawsawi, and no doubt other variations. Saudi Arabian accused of giving financial backing to the group, he testified in the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui, saying he had seen Moussaoui at an al-Qaeda guesthouse in Kandahar, Afghanistan, in early 2001, but somehow was never introduced to him or conducted operations with him...
all expected to face the death penalty if convicted
Update from PJ Media at 10:10 a.m. ET
During the Trump administration, prosecutors tried to work out a plea deal that would have sent the plotters to a supermax prison in Florence, Colo. with life sentences. Those negotiations fell through when the prisoners demanded they serve their life sentences in Guantanamo, which is far less restrictive.

Now the Biden administration, the guys that caused the debacle in Afghanistan
...the pack of self-imagined masterminds of strategy and intrigue at the service of the Biden Crime Family and a grateful nation...
is trying once again to settle the legal situation for KSM and the other plotters and has opened negotiations that would give the snuffies life sentences.

Even with successful negotiations, any deal would have to secure the Pentagon’s approval.
Lapdogs Milley and Austin would surely do whatever they're told
Even the suggestion of a deal during the Trump administration enraged then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who complained to Defense Secretary James N. Mattis about the convening authority, Harvey Rishikof. Shortly after that, Rishikof was fired.

Karnataka HC upholds Hijab ban: A look at countries where veils are barred
[OneIndia] Karnataka High Court on Tuesday ruled that the hijab is not essential to Islam in a landmark case that could have implications across the country.

The prescription of school uniform is only a reasonable restriction, constitutionally permissible which the students cannot object to, a three-judge bench of the court further noted.

Prescription of uniform is a reasonable restriction on fundamental rights under Article 25, the court said.

No case is made out for invalidating the government order of February 5, the court said.

The demand by a section of Moslem girls in an Udupi pre-university college to wear Hijab inside their classrooms erupted into a major row after some Hindu students turned up in saffron shawls with the issue spreading to other parts of the state, even as the government insisted on a uniform norm.

Hijab verdict: 4 Key questions and their answers by Karnataka high court

[OneIndia] The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday ruled that the wearing of the hijab is not an essential practice in Islam. Advocate KV Dhananjay, appearing for the petitioners, said, 'We will move the Supreme Court after the full high court order is out".

The four questions were:

1. Whether wearing hijab/head-scarf is a part of 'essential religious practice' in Islamic Faith protected under Article 25 of the Constitution?

2. Whether prescription of school uniform is not legally permissible, as being violative of petitioners Fundamental Rights inter alia guaranteed under Articles, 19(1)(a), (i.e., freedom of expression) and 21, (i.e., privacy) of the Constitution?

3. Whether the Government Order dated 05.02.2022 apart from being incompetent is issued without application of mind and further is manifestly arbitrary and therefore, violates Articles 14 & 15 of the Constitution?

4. Whether any case is made out in W.P.No.2146/2022 for issuance of a direction for initiating disciplinary enquiry against respondent Nos.6 to 14 and for issuance of a Writ of Quo Warranto against respondent Nos.15 & 16?

What the court said:

1. "We are of the considered opinion that wearing of Hijab by Muslim women does not form a part of essential religious practice in Islamic faith," Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi who headed the full bench of the High Court said reading out portion of the order.

2. The prescription of school uniform is only a reasonable restriction, constitutionally permissible which the students cannot object to, a three-judge bench of the court further noted.

3. The bench maintained that the government has power to issue impugned government order dated February 5, 2022 and no case is made out for its invalidation. By the said order, the state government had banned wearing clothes which disturb equality, integrity and public order in schools and colleges.

4. The court also rejected the plea to initiate a disciplinary inquiry against the college, its principal and a teacher. "In the above circumstances, all these writ petitions being devoid of merits are liable to be and accordingly are dismissed.

In view of the dismissal of the writ petition, all the pending applications fell into insignificance and are accordingly disposed off," the bench said in its

On January 1, six girl students of a college in Udupi attended a press conference held by Campus Front of India (CFI)
...the student/campus wing of an Islamist organization, the Popular Front of India. PFI is an Indian jihadi group, the latest identity of the National Development Front (NDF) and the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). in the coastal town protesting against the college authorities denying them entry into the classroom wearing Hijab. This was four days after they requested the principal permission to wear Hijabs in classrooms which was not allowed.

Till then, students used to wear Hijab to the campus and entered the classroom after removing the scarves, the college principal Rudre Gowda had said. "The institution did not have any rule on Hijab-wearing as such and no one used to wear it to the classroom in the last 35 years. The students who came with the demand had the backing of outside forces," Gowda had said.

Iran returns passport of detained UK charity worker
[AlAhram] Iranian authorities have returned the passport of a U.K. woman who has been detained in the country for almost six years, raising hopes of progress in negotiations toward her release.

Charity worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe remains at her parents' home in Tehran, said Tulip Siddiq, her local politician in the U.K.

``I also understand that there is a British negotiating team in Tehran right now,'' Siddiq said on Twitter. ``I will keep posting updates as I get them.''

Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who has dual U.K.-Iranian citizenship, served five years in prison after being taken into custody at Tehran's airport in April 2016. She was later convicted of plotting the overthrow of Iran's government, a charge that she, her supporters and rights groups deny.

She has been held under house arrest and unable to leave the country since her release.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe's local lawyer, Hojjat Kermani, also told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named she had received her British passport. However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
Kermani said she remained banned from leaving the country.

``We hope that these negotiations will be concluded soon,'' he said.
