Ismail Al Ghoul – a case study in the failure of western media
Lots of screen captures at the link.
[DavidCollier] On Monday 18 March, Israel arrested Al Jazeera ’journalist’ Ismail Al Ghoul. As usual all was not as it seemed.

Mexican president says the 'flow of migrants will continue' unless the US meets his demands
[FoxNews] The interviewer recalled that critics derided Obrador's requests as 'diplomatic blackmail'

Mexican President Obrador, nearing the end of his term, warned that the flow of migrants from Latin America into the United State will continue unless billions of aid is sent every year.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador warned on Sunday during an interview with "60 Minutes" that unless the United States complies with Latin America’s requests for aid, the tide of migrants will continue.

In January, Obrador issued a series of demands for what the U.S. must do to stop the flow of migrants to the border, ranging from sending Latin American countries $20 billion in aid a year to granting some level of amnesty to illegal immigrant workers in the U.S.

Mexico has reportedly taken some state-level action to curb mass migration at President Biden’s request, making crossings drop, however, the number of migrants began to rise again in February, with Border Patrol expecting another surge in thespring.

"Everybody thinks you have the power in this moment to slow down migration. Do you plan to?" "60 Minutes" corrrespondent Sharyn Alfonsisaid asked Obrador.

"We do, and want to continue doing it. But we do want for the root causes to be attended to, for them to be seriously looked at," a translator interpreted Obrador’s response from Spanish.

Alfonsi noted Obrador's demands for the U.S. to send $20 billion a year to Latin America countries, lift sanctions on Venezuela, end the Cuban embargo and legalize millions of Mexicans that are living in the U.S.

"If they don’t do the things that you’ve said need to be done, then what?," she asked.

"The flow of migrants will continue," Obrador responded.
‘Tis said he is a tool of the cartels.

ISIS threatens to 'massacre' Putin and Russians and says Moscow attack terrorists' torture 'has increased our bloodlust' - as new footage shows one murderer caught hiding up a tree and Kremlin vows to 'kill everyone involved'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] ISIS said: 'To all wild Russians! Stop torturing Islamic State prisoners. Beware! Do not think that we do not have the opportunity to take revenge on you for our captured brothers.

'In Friday's attack, we proved to you that, God willing, the Mujahideen of the Islamic State can punish you for any of your horrors; without this revenge, a lot of blood will remain from the Islamic Ummah.

'Torture of captured Mujahideen in your name and publication of their videos increases your bloodlust for thousands of their brothers.

'This time, let's hit you so hard on the head that future generations, God willing, will remember you and these past pains and wounds will be forgotten.

'Yes! Very heavy, deadly, bloody, stabbing, burning and devastating blows. Wait! Expect a massacre, God willing. Very soon, God willing.'

Meanwhile new arrests were made in the case today. A father Isroil Islomov, 62, and his two sons Dilovar and Aminchon, were under anti-terrorism laws as suspects of the Crocus City Hall massacre. They are believed to have sold the Renault used by the gunman to arrive at the venue, and to flee. The Russian Investigative Committee sees them as accomplices of the terrorist who killed 143 people at the concert venue.

Dilovar, 24, is believed to be the last owner of the white Renault. His relatives claim he is innocent and voluntarily went to the police when they started looking for him.

A statement said: 'With the aim of committing a terrorist act Shamsidin Fariduni involved Aminchon Islomov in the organised group no later than January 2024, and Dilovar Islomov no later than March 11, 2024.

'The investigation is requesting the court to arrest Aminchon Islomov, Dilovar Islomov and another suspect in the criminal case.' The court remanded them until May 22.

Russia doesn't appear willing to back down in its treatment of the four men, who slaughtered 137 people at Crocus City Hall on the western outskirts of Moscow on Friday night.'

Deputy chairman of Russia's security council Dmitry Medvedev urged security forces to 'kill' everyone who assisted in carrying out the terror attack. Referring to the four men, Medvedev said: 'They were caught. Well done to everyone who caught them.

'Should they be killed? Necessary. And it will be. But it is much more important to kill everyone involved. Everyone, who paid, who sympathised, who helped. Kill them all.'

Despite the evidence of torture, dozens of soldiers have been awarded medals for capturing the four terrorists.

A Russian general was wheeled out to present medals to army troops from the Leningrad Military District.

Lt-Gen Esedulla Abachev 'presented state and departmental awards to the military personnel… who distinguished themselves during the detention of terrorists in the Bryansk region that had participated in the attack on Crocus City Hall'.

He 'personally congratulated each one, highly appreciating the accomplishment of the assigned combat missions'.

The awards were for 'Courage' and 'Military Distinction'.

Medals also went to members of the Akhmat-Russia regiment - loyal to Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov - who were also involved in the operation. They 'distinguished themselves in the search for and neutralisation of particularly dangerous terrorists who had carried out a horrendous terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall.'

FSB special forces officers were also involved in detaining the four.

Moscow attack suspects' neighbours say one was a violent drunk and another was a successful barber… as terror family of father and sons are hauled into court charged with assisting the 'ISIS' killers

Neighbours of the suspected Crocus City Hall killers have revealed that one member of the group was a violent drunk, while another had a budding career as a successful barber.

The revelations come as a father and his two sons were hauled in front of Moscow court on suspicion of providing the terrorists with vehicles and logistical support ahead of their slaughter of at least 139 concertgoers.

Shamsidin Fariduni, one of four shooters detained by Moscow's security services and the man thought to have recruited the family to aid his nefarious plans, allegedly threatened to attack a dog walker in a drunken fit of rage last year.

According to a resident of Podolsk, near Moscow, a drunken Fariduni once nearly ran her over as she was walking her dog, and began screaming at her.

The resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told Lenta that the 25-year-old drove up to her and 'began talking right away, asking what the dog's name was'.

'I saw that he was completely drunk, and I answered him. I went around the car to continue walking on the other side and he drove right up to my legs,' she said, adding that Fariduni then began swearing at her and threatened to assault her.

The resident claimed she contacted the police to report her concern about Fariduni, a married father-of-one, but said officers never got back to her.

By contrast, the youngest terrorist, 19-year-old Muhammadsobir Faizov, was described as a successful barber by neighbours who reported he worked in various high-end salons and had built a group of regular clients in the city of Ivanovo northeast of Moscow.

Ivanovo residents living in a five-storey block of flats where Faizov was staying described the teenager as a 'calm' person and a hard worker who often worked seven days a week, but generally kept himself to himself and did not speak Russian fluently.

Meanwhile, Yamina Safieva, the owner of one barbershop that employed Faizov, insisted in comments to RT that the teen did not arouse suspicion and was a good worker. But she is now the target of threatening messages after her former employee was arrested in connection with the heinous attack in Moscow.

Russian news site Lenta this morning also reported that Faizov appeared to have shown some remorse for the attack, citing a post shared on a private social media profile that read 'I made a mistake, I apologize to everyone Crokys siti Hall'. MailOnline was unable to verify the post.

A third shooter, 32-year-old Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, is said to have been a keen amateur wrestler and often trained at a Mixed Martial Arts gym in the city of Novosibirsk. Mirzoyev, a taxi driver who is believed to have purchased the car used in the attack from a member of the family detained yesterday by Russian authorities, was registered on a temporary visa in Novosibirsk until January but had been living under an expired residency permit since then.

'(Mirzoyev) lived with me in the same microdistrict, the Zatulinsky residential area (of Novosibirsk). I also went to the Zeus sports club for MMA,' one anonymous member of the gym told Lenta, before insisting: 'Personally, I didn't know him, of course.'

The revelations come as Isroil Islomov, 62, and sons Aminchon and Dilovar appeared in Moscow's Basmanny district court last night, having been arrested on suspicion of helping the shooters orchestrate their deadly attack. All three members of the family from Tajikistan worked as taxi and bus drivers and had a good knowledge of transport routes in and around the venue.

Dilovar was named as the latest owner of the white Renault which the terrorists drove to the concert venue before mowing down hundreds of defenceless civilians with automatic weapons.

Aminchon, who has seven children from two marriages at the age of just 33, is believed to have been recruited by shooter Fariduni in January and helped the crew to plan their attack.

Dilovar, 25, is then said to have been brought into the terrorist fold earlier this month and provided the car the terrorists used to travel to the Crocus City Hall, and subsequently make their ill-fated escape.

Both sons are accused of aiding and abetting the terrorists, while father Isroil is being held as a suspect. All three have been detained for two months while investigations continue along with a fourth detainee, Kyrgyz citizen Alisher Kasimov, who was charged with renting an apartment to the men accused of carrying out the attack.
Even more from the Daily Mail:
Today, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to assign blame, urging the world to wait for the results of the investigation in Russia.

The Kremlin also launched a disinformation campaign targeting the UK, blaming MI6 and other Western intelligence agencies for the Moscow massacre. The Telegraph reported that social media bots had been sharing links to fake websites designed to trick people into believing they were real, established news outlets. According to a report by Meta, Facebook's parent company, EU-sanctioned Russian IT companies National Technologies and Social Design Agency carried out the attack.

The leaks come as Vladimir Putin has scrambled to save face by casting fresh doubt on ISIS claiming responsibility for the Moscow concert massacre that killed nearly 140 people, the deadliest attack on the nation's soil in years.

ISIS twice claimed responsibility for the attack over the weekend, first posting a selfie taken by the four men, all of whom are Russian citizens, in front of an ISIS flag before posting a 90-second selfie video of the devastating attack from the terrorists' perspective.

New footage filed inside the Crocus City Hall venue in Krasnogorsk also emerged, showing people running and cowering behind tables as the gunmen open fire in the main lobby of the building. People can be heard screaming as continuous bullets break through glass doors and mow down victims in what was the deadliest attack on Russia in years.

The four suspected terrorists, who have been photographed and named in the Russian media, were seen arriving in an unmarked white van before they entered the concert hall at around 8pm.

Fariddun was allegedly seen staking out Crocus City Hall on March 7 when he was pictured at the venue.

This coincided with a warning from the US and UK embassies in Moscow about the imminent threat of a strike on a crowded venue.

Separate footage has shows the arsenal left behind by the gunmen who staged the bloodbath at the Crocus City Hall that left at least 137 people dead. Officers said they found four sets of combat ammunition, more than 500 rounds of ammunition and 28 magazines at the scene of the massacre. Two Kalashnikov assault rifles were also recovered from the concert hall.

Shots were first fired at people waiting in the foyer before the killers made their way to the concert hall area. After shooting at concert-goers the suspected ISIS terrorists set the building on fire, causing the roof to collapse.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack and it is thought the men were members of for ISIS-K, an offshoot of the terrorist organisation.

The group released a sickening 90-second selfie after the attack that is too graphic for MailOnline to share. The clip, described by the terror group as 'exclusive scenes... of the bloody attack on Christians yesterday in the city of Krasnogorsk in Moscow', begins with one terrorist holding a knife running into the main hall of Crocus City Hall.

The man filming the video twice says: 'Bring the machine gun. Kill them and have no mercy on them.'

Another man carrying what appears to be a yellow and black machine gun then runs into the hall and begins firing wildly in all directions. The gun appears to match up with images released by Russian authorities of the aftermath of the attack.

The gunman filming the sick attack can be heard saying: 'The infidels will be defeated, God willing. God is great. The infidels will be defeated. We went out for the sake of God and to seek His religion.'

The four heavily armed men are then seen slowly walking away from the entrance to the main hall.

Want German citizenship? New exam requires knowledge of Holocaust, Judaism, Israel
[Ynet] The demand that migrants, refugees and asylum seekers adopt German values such as gender equality, LGBT rights, freedom of speech and freedom of the press has been a topic of public debate in Germany for almost a decade, since the mass influx of refugees in 2015.

But on October 7, when thousands of Muslims in Germany went out into the streets to celebrate the Hamas slaughter and protest against Israeli actions in Gaza, many politicians, especially in the Interior Ministry, clarified that some of the new requirements for permanent residents and to acquire German citizenship will now also be linked to the approach by those seeking asylum toward Jews and Judaism.

A leaked document from the Interior Ministry published Tuesday in Der Spiegel sheds further light on the issue and the new changes included in the questionnaire for those applying for German citizenship. At least 50% of this set of 33 questions must be answered correctly if one wants to proceed to the next stage of the German passport application process.

Der Spiegel reveals that, among other questions, refugees will be asked: When was the State of Israel founded? What is the expected punishment for Holocaust denial in Germany? And what is the name of the Jewish place of worship?

"If you do not share our values, you cannot receive a German passport," said Interior Minister Nancy Faeser from the Social Democratic party, who since the October 7 terror attack has taken a tough stance to expel Islamist organizations and eradicate antisemitism from her country. "We have zero tolerance for antisemitism and racism. This is a red line that we are drawing. Any manifestation of racism or contempt for humanity will prevent refugees from obtaining citizenship."

Europe on terror alert: Brutal ISIS sect that carried out Moscow massacre had already attempted 'several' strikes in France, Emmanuel Macron reveals as security is tightened at Channel ports amid fears of a copycat attack
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Europe is now on terror alert following the brutal Moscow massacre, after French president Emmanuel Macron revealed the ISIS offshoot that slaughtered 137 at a concert on Friday tried to carry out 'several' strikes in France.

France's security alert system, Vigipirate, was pushed to its highest on Sunday, after Macron held an emergency meeting to discuss the already tense security situation in the country, as it prepares to host the 2024 Olympic Games.

He revealed that ISIS-K, the ultra-brutal ISIS offshoot that Western intelligence believes carried out the attack in Moscow, has 'attempted several times to hit France.'

France's prime minister Gabriel Attal took to X to say: 'Given the Islamic State's claim of responsibility for the attack and the threats weighing on our country, we have decided to raise the Vigipirate posture to its highest level: emergency attack.'

French officials today held a meeting to look at specific measures to step up security, such as checking bags on entrance to concert halls or places of worship.

Travellers to and from the UK have been warned by officials at the Port of Dover to expect 'increased border processing times' following Macron's decision to raise France's border security checks.

Italy followed France's lead, implementing increased security checks around Holy Week observances leading up to Easter this weekend.

Both surveillance and checks will be increased, 'paying the most attention to the places of greatest aggregation and transit of people, as well as sensitive targets,' the Italian Interior Ministry said in a statement. Pope Francis has a busy schedule of events in Rome and at the Vatican in the days leading up to Easter Sunday.

In Germany, Interior Ministry spokesperson Cornelius Funke said the threat from Islamic extremists 'remains acute' but authorities' risk assessment hasn't changed so far as a result of the Moscow attack. Germany is set to host the 2024 Euros in the summer.

In Serbia, secret police officers with machine guns were seen patrolling the streets of Belgrade over the weekend. President Aleksandar Vucic said they and plainclothes police would monitor sports venues and shopping malls in the capital. The measure was criticized by Vucic's opponents as unnecessary and designed to scare the population.

British Chancellor Jeremy Hunt admitted yesterday that the UK should 'absolutely' be concerned about ISIS' comeback following its attack in Moscow.

But while Europe has been open in its anxiety about ISIS, Russia has still refused to admit that the terror group was responsible for the attack, instead pinning the blame on Kyiv, assertations Ukraine denies.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not publicly mentioned Islamic State in connection with the attackers, who he said had been trying to escape to Ukraine. Russia has been at war with Ukraine since it invaded its neighbour in February 2022.

Putin said some people on 'the Ukrainian side' had been prepared to spirit the gunmen across the border. Ukraine has denied any role in the attack and President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has accused Putin of seeking to divert blame for not securing Russia against such an attack by mentioning Ukraine.

France’s defense minister denies supplying arms to Israel amid Gaza war

Strip.

Marseille-based firm Eurolinks had sold Israel M27 links, metal pieces used to join rifle cartridges into ammunition belts for machine guns, investigative websites Disclose and Marsactu wrote.

Such ammunition "could have been used against civilians in the Gaza Strip," they claimed.

The investigative outlets’ reporting was supported by photos of the links that they said were taken on October 23, weeks after Hamas’s bloody October 7 massacre in southern Israel that triggered the intense fighting in Gaza.

AFP was unable to verify the reported shipment.

But French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu tells news hounds in Gay Paree that Eurolinks’ license to export to Israeli firm IMI Systems "only covers re-export to third countries" rather than use by the Israeli army.

According to a 2023 report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, which studies conflicts and arms, 69 percent of Israel’s arms purchases come from US firms, 30% from Germany and 0.9% from Italia.

Michigan voters no more likely than others to vote with Gaza war in mind — poll
Not the result they expected, I suspect.
[IsraelTimes] A survey released by Bloomberg polling voters in seven key swing states in the US finds that 67 percent of Michigan respondents think Israel’s war with Hamas
...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
is somewhat or very important when deciding on who to vote for in the 2024 presidential election, slightly below the figure found in other states.

Across all seven states, 70% of respondents say it is somewhat or very important. Only 1% of respondents in Michigan list it as their top issue, the same percentage found across the board in the Morning Consult poll, which surveyed voters in Michigan, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, Nevada and North Carolina.

Much has been made of Michigan’s sizable Arab population being unwilling to support Biden over his stance toward Israel, which was seen a factor pushing the administration’s change in tone in recent weeks.

The polling finds that voters in all seven states are more likely to trust former president Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......

to handle the war, by a margin of 44% to 32%, with 24% trusting neither.

In Michigan, 42% of voters trust Donald Trump to handle the war while 33% back Biden dealing with it.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
On the others side: In Pentagon meeting, Austin tells Gallant there’s moral imperative to protect civilians
[IsraelTimes] US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin says there is “a moral necessity and a strategic imperative” to protect Palestinian civilians, calling the situation in Gaza a “humanitarian catastrophe” that is “getting even worse.”

Austin’s comments come at the start of the meeting with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant at the Pentagon.

“In Gaza today, the number of civilian casualties is far too high and the amount of humanitarian aid is far too low,” Austin continues. “We need immediate increases in assistance to avert famine, and our work to open a temporary humanitarian corridor by sea will help, but the key is still expanding aid deliveries by land.

He tells Gallant he looks forward to discussing surging Gaza aid with him.

Turning to a potential Israeli operation in Rafah — which the US opposes — Austin says, “the safety of the 1.5 million Palestinian civilians in Rafah is also a top priority for the United States.”

“We continue to share the goal of seeing Hamas defeated, so we’ll discuss alternative approaches to target Hamas elements, and we must also plan for Israel’s security after this conflict ends, and that includes working in renewed cooperation with the Palestinian Authority and our regional partners to stabilize Gaza and to move toward a two-state solution,” he adds.

Speaking after Austin, Gallant thanks the US defense chief personally and the US more broadly for its support in the war against Hamas.

“While we are sitting at the Pentagon, on the other side of the world, the leader of Hamas is meeting with senior Iranian government officials. There is no more tangible expression of the war of the free world against the axis advancing terror,” Gallant tells Austin.

City’s Shifa Hospital as a hub for terror operations.

The terror operatives were detained in the vicinity of Shifa Hospital in recent days amid the ongoing large-scale military operation, the military says.

The Islamic Jihad operative, identified by the IDF as Nabeel Rajab Abed Shteiwi, says during the interrogation that he has been working with the terror group in missile production since 2012.

"Shifa, or schools and places like that, are our shelter," Shteiwi says of the Islamic Jihad and Hamas, adding that he has been living in the hospital for three months.

Asked by the interrogator where the group’s headquarters inside the hospital are located, Shteiwi says that the group "does not have specific headquarters. They are in all the buildings, scattered everywhere."

He says that a large number of Hamas operatives use the hospital’s "Specialist Building" as their hub, but adds that this "doesn’t mean that they aren’t in other buildings" as well.

As to how so many terror operatives can move around the hospital undisturbed, he says, "You might see someone who doesn’t look like a nurse but is dressed in nurse clothes walking around."

The IDF also releases footage from the interrogation of Hamas operative Bakr Ahmed Bakr Qanita, who says he was in Shifa Hospital for 25 days.

Telling the interrogator that there are 600-1,000 Hamas operatives inside the hospital, Qanita says that there are "certain places" in Shifa that belong to the group, including in the medical residency department where terror operatives store weapons.

He confirms that the group uses the Specialist Building as one of its primary locations, as Shteiwi said, along with the Management Building.

The two terror groups tend to use hospitals across Gaza as their operation hubs because of "the large population and the large displacement," Qanita says, adding that access to water and electricity is also a factor in the decision.

In a statement released alongside the video footage, the IDF says "the murderous Moslems disclosed details of Hamas terror infrastructure deeply embedded within the hospital, which is used by senior Hamas operatives for planning and directing terror attacks."

IDF confirms: Top Hamas commander Marwan Issa killed in airstrike earlier this month
[IsraelTimes] IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari in a press conference officially confirms that Marwan Issa, the deputy commander of Hamas’s military wing, was killed in an Israeli airstrike carried out in the central Gaza Strip earlier this month.

Alongside Issa, senior Hamas commander Ghazi Abu Tama’a was killed in the March 10 strike in Nuseirat, according to Hagari.

The US previously announced that Issa was killed in the strike, although at the time, Israel said it was still evaluating the results of the bombing.

Blaming UN vote, Israel pulls negotiators from Qatar after Hamas rejects truce deal
[IsraelTimes] Prime Minister’s Office points to ’damage’ caused by Security Council resolution, as Gazoo terror group digs in on demands Israel calls ’delusional’

Israel on Tuesday recalled its negotiating team from Qatar

The delegation had been in Doha for eight days.

However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
several news outlets reported that a small Mossad team remained in Qatar to continue talks. The Prime Minister’s Office would not comment on the reports. Majed al-Ansari, a spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, told news hounds that negotiations on a truce in Gazoo

were still ongoing, without providing details.

In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Hamas’s decision to reject a US-brokered compromise is "clear proof it is not interested in continuing talks, and a sad testament to the damage caused by the UN Security Council resolution," referring to a call for a ceasefire passed Monday night that the US did not veto, thus enabling its passage.

The PMO accused Hamas of retreating to its "extreme demands," including a complete end to the war and full IDF withdrawal from Gaza.

"Israel will not cave to Hamas’s delusional demands," it said.

A diplomatic official quoted by Hebrew-language media said Hamas demanded that Gazooks be given carte blanche to return to their homes in the north of the Strip and did not even address a hostage release.

"There is no one to talk to on the other side and the Israeli negotiating team has nothing to do in Qatar," the source was quoted as saying.

Hamas said on Monday night that it had informed mediators that it will stick to its original position on demanding a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, a return of displaced Paleostinians, and a "real" exchange of "prisoners" — demands Israel has repeatedly rejected as delusional.

While the terror group has conditioned any further hostage releases on an Israeli commitment to end the war, Israel has insisted that its military campaign to destroy Hamas’s military and governance capabilities will resume once any hostage-truce deal is implemented.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in a radio interview Tuesday morning that the US decision to withhold a veto on the Security Council resolution would hurt Israel in talks to free its hostages.

Katz drew a direct line between Hamas’s rejection of Israeli terms for a truce and hostage deal in exchange for prisoners and the US decision to allow the Security Council resolution to pass, which he called "a moral and ethical mistake."

"Hamas is building on the fact that... there will be a ceasefire without it needing to pay a thing," he said.

Katz said Israel will now need to up the military pressure to prove its commitment to releasing the hostages and taking down Hamas.

"In our view, there was a message, a no-good message, to anyone on Hamas’s side that the US does not support Israel as much, and so we need to prove, militarily, that we will stand by our goals," he said.

Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer told Bloomberg TV on Tuesday that the US decision gave Hamas reason to believe "they’re going to get a ceasefire without giving up the hostages."

Saying the war is in "the home stretch," Dermer implored the US to "stand with us, let us finish the job, and let’s get to a day after where can have a real grinding of the peace processor that can give hope not only to Israelis, but also to Paleostinians."

The Security Council resolution demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages taken by Gazan terrorists on October 7. The US abstained, and the 14 other council members voted for the resolution, backed by Russia and China, that called for a ceasefire without conditioning it on the release of hostages.

In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office after the adoption of the resolution, Israel warned that the US decision to abstain was harming the war effort against Hamas and undermining attempts to free hostages.

The statement called the decision “a clear retreat from the consistent US position in the Security Council since the beginning of the war,” and one that “gives Hamas hope that international pressure will allow them to get a ceasefire without releasing our hostages.”

Then why bother going through the UNSC vote?

Hezbollah announces death of three members killed in Israeli strikes, inc. total to 251
[IsraelTimes] The Hezbollah terror group announces the death of three members killed "on the road to Jerusalem," its term for operatives slain in Israeli strikes.

They are named as Ali Din, from Zboud in the Baalbek District; Ali Jawhari, from the nearby city of Hermel; and Ali Akhras, from south Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...

Their deaths bring the terror group’s toll since the beginning of the war in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

The announcement comes following several recent IDF strikes on Hezbollah targets over the past day, including in the Baalbek and Hermel regions in northeastern Lebanon.

Hezbollah announces death of 248th operative in fighting with Israel

[IsraelTimes] Hezbollah announces the death of a fighter “on the road to Jerusalem,” its code for operatives killed in ongoing hostilities with Israel.

It names the fighter as Hussein Ali Dabouq, 29 or 30 years old, from the town of Chabriha, on the coast north of Tyre.

Dabouq is the 248th Hezbollah fighter killed in nearly six months of fighting with Israel, according to the Iran-backed terror group.

Israel said late last night that it carried out airstrikes against Hezbollah in Mays al-Jabal and Abou Chach in southern Lebanon
