Indian man arrested while he was burying his daughter alive
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Police in India's Tripura state tossed in the calaboose
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
a man while he was attempting to murder his 9-year-old daughter by burying her alive.

The man identified as Abul Hussein was reportedly arrested after local residents of Putia village alerted police.

According to India's NDTV channel Abul Hussein had a pit in the back garden of his home while his wife was away from the house on Friday afternoon.

Police officials have said Hussein was attempting to murder his daughter Rukshena as he disliked her as he was desperate for a son and hated that he had a daughter.

The officials further added that the little girl's hands and feet were tied together before placing tape over her mouth and placing her int eh hole.

Hussein was beaten by the local residents after they found the little girl buried. "Abul Hussein was roughed up by the people who rescued the girl from half-buried condition," Amal Chakraborty, the officer-in-charge of the local cop shoppe said.

According to reports Rukshena is currently in hospital in a serious but stable condition and her father has been arrested on attempted murder and will remain in jug until 20 January.

Middle Schoolers Arrested After 'Sex Party' Recorded On Phones
[BREITBART] Four middle school students in Wisconsin have been incarcerated
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
and are facing sexual assault charges after a report that they recorded their "sex party" on their phones.

According to ABC affiliate WISN, police have recommended the students ‐ whose exact ages are unknown, but who could be as young as 13 ‐ be charged with first-degree and second-degree assault of a minor.

The "sex party" was allegedly held at the home of a classmate in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, during the Christmas holiday break. School staff called police to Brown Deer Middle School earlier in January after a student reported a "sex party" at the home of a friend during the holiday vacation.

Police eventually arrested four students in their early teens. Brown Deer Police Chief Michael Kass said the videos of the alleged sexual assaults were not posted on social media.

"We're trying to send a clear message that this type of behavior isn't going to be condoned by law enforcement, nor school officials, nor shouldn't be by parents, really, when we're talking kids that are middle-school age," Kass said regarding his recommendations.

He added that police completed their investigation and do not believe adults were involved. Kass said he has not been told yet whether the middle school students will, in fact, be charged.

Excited Woman Falls to Her Death After Her Boyfriend Proposes on the Edge of a Cliff
[PEOPLE] Dimitrina Dimitrova's boyfriend had planned the perfect proposal.

A waiter at the tiny seaside resort of Cala Tarida on Ibiza, he led his beloved to the edge of a cliff renowned for its spectacular sunset views. There, he surprised her by popping the question. 29-year-old Dimitrova jumped for joy ‐ then lost her balance and fell 65 ft. to her death, Periódico de Ibiza reports.

Dimitrova initially survived the fall, but then suffered a heart attack from her extensive injuries. She died shortly after paramedics arrived on the scene.

Authorities say the shocking incident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, is not suspicious.

"Everything is pointing towards the death being the result of a tragic freak accident," a Civil Guard front man told the Daily Mail.

A source told the British paper that Dimitrova was visiting her boyfriend at the resort and looking for work on Ibiza. The two are both originally from Bulgaria.

"She fell seconds after her partner surprised her by proposing to her as she jumped up and down with emotion," the source said.

-Land of the Free
This Week In Guns, January 31st, 2015

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

The Washington state "I Will Not Comply" protest is shaping up to be a pretty big deal. Instead of dealing with the issues at hand, Washington state legislators decided to ban open carry of rifles in the public gallery after a Washington state police officer complained to legislative leaders in Olympia. At the moment, however, it appears that a number of gun owners, there to protest any implementation of the new universal background check law, have been threatened with arrest if they show up openly carrying rifles. The main event is scheduled for Monday February 9th.

A number of organizations are pressing the issue home in Washington state. Several pro gun and patriot bloggers are involved, including the Patrick Henry Society.

This is an existential stand for those who support the 2nd Amendment. I hate doing this on a public forum, but I am praying for those men and women that the fascists are stopped in Olympia with this protest. Not because I don't support the cause, but because the call is for direct action.

But I can't be there.

In Connecticut, at least one legislator wants to give AR owners a second chance to register their firearms and "high capacity" magazines. A year after the deadline has passed no one really -- thankfully -- knows just how many ARs there are out there, and the anti gun fascists would really like to know. At last check the compliance rate is somewhere between 18 and 25 percent, and even with this new bill, it is not likely to go higher. Pity the fools who actually did register their firearms, for now the state-paid armed thugs know where to go first.

The anti 2nd Amendment Violence Policy Center has come out with new data that says that gun deaths are higher in states where there are more guns. Not surprising, except if you read the data comparisons, you see the statistics juggling they do to massage the numbers. In statistics (and I am not a statistician) simpler is better, so it makes sense, in my tiny mind, that more die in states where there are more guns. My own conclusion, however is rather than the state paying fascist thugs to confiscate guns, how about paying the NRA to sponsor gun safety seminars?

But no, Bryant Gumbel, you know, the insane Gumbel, wants you to know that the one major publicly funded organization capable of tempering that data are "pigs". I mean, come on. Anymore of that and I will be forced to join the NRA. Give it a rest, please, and get help while you're at it.

Loads.

#1  Texas Governor declares Chris Kyle day. (Link)
Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared February 2nd to be “Chris Kyle Day” to honor the Texan who became known the most lethal sniper in American history. Kyle was also recently immortalized in the blockbuster film “American Sniper.”

Kyle was credited with 150 sniper kills during his four tours of duty in Iraq as a Navy Seal. He was tragically shot and killed on February 2, 2013, while trying to help a fellow veteran who was allegedly suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Taya Kyle, the widow of Chris Kyle, was recently honored by the organization AmericanSnipers.org with a donation of $62,000. According to a Breitbart News article by AWR Hawkins, the group raised the money by raffling a McMillan .338 Lapua sniper rifle. She also recently made news by shooting an antelope on a hunting trip taken to honor her late husband.

After his death, Kyle was honored with a memorial service in the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The service along with the miles-long funeral procession were also featured in the movie honoring Kyle.

During that service, then Governor Rick Perry said, “Chris Kyle was the public face of an anonymous breed of American warrior who are handed the hardest missions and assume the largest risks,” Former Governor Rick Perry said. “Chris was among the very best at what he did, and he saved countless American lives in the process. Our state and our nation suffered a profound loss with his passing. I am honored to have known Chris and to have called him my friend. Anita and I send our deepest condolences to his wife, Taya, his children and the thousands of service members that were his extended family.”

#3  From the link;

The collectivist media has been very successful in serving their masters by deliberately ignoring the armed civil disobedience movement.

The liberal media loves to portray open-carry activists as the dangerous extension of traditional Second Amendment groups. The folks that publicly carry their guns simply as a statement risk the credibility of all that are concerned with the infringement of liberties. With that said, I’ll defend your right to lawfully display your guns in public. As long as you defend my right to call you attention seeking A-Holes. Deal?

#5  Apparently there is a bill in committee proposing to ban > or = Type III body armor.

I read an article some time ago about firstt hand accounts on survival basics when law and order breaks down. First thing he suggested was purchasing body armor, mainly as a defense against stabbing.

Personally, I tend to lean towards DepotGuy's opinion, especially when it is a bunch of tacticools chomping down on burritos. I do get the point of the Washington protests. Here's the thing - the media has proven it will just make shit up if there no subject with the right narrative traction. Its how we came up with the term White-Hispanic. Its what Mrs. Peeinsocks did when she wrote up he fainting attack about the fellow who ended up have a heart monitor. I'd think if the Washington protesters were doing it right, the mag is out and the bolt is open making it less dangerous and slower to deploy than a hammer, not that it would matter to narrators who see tanks in every F-150, who use pre-format stories to report gun incidents which is where we got our famous AR-15 shotgun.

*I will note that the survival basics story suggested having a pistol in 9mm because everyone (police and security, etc) uses 9mm. As an observation, the ammo everyone uses was to first sold out and last to re-appear, namely 22, 9mm, .223, with stories of people driving 3 hours to clean out Mom and Pop stores.

#6  There are areas along the border of Mexico where open carry is a necessity, especially when it is 110 degrees outside and wearing a coat to cover the Colt is not an option. I suggest our troops who are now under an active Fatwa also be allowed to open carry even in civilian clothes until we get a border again and a formal immigration process to insure ISIS, Al Qaeda, Huthis, Boko Haram, Sinaola, the Juarez Cartel, the Knights Templar, the Gulf Cartel are no longer sleeper cells in the US who want to attack our High rises and even threaten our elementary schools.

I suggest open carry for any police officer in civilian clothes after the Obama admin actively took the side of notorious strong arm bandit Michael Brown resulting in the execution of two NYC Police officers. Since the New Black Panther Party can open carry in East Texas I suggest so can everyone else until we get a United States of America Justice Department who openly no longer refuses to honor the laws of our Constitution and any other law it chooses not to enforce that protects our citizens.

#7  In CT if someone bought an AR-15 or any other firearm from a FFL, then the state already has a pretty good idea who has one. In addition to the Federal form, you have to fill out state forms that go to the police department the purchaser lives in.

"You have to set a bus on fire," the order came from the other end of the mobile phone to Fazal Miah alias Sajal, 22, when he was working in his garage.

"A boro bhai (big brother) named Pavel rang me," he said this while he was presented before the media at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media and Community Center yesterday.

"He first told me that I have to do something but as I asked him about what I have to do he said I have to set alight a bus.

"I told him I only know how to fix vehicles and have never ever done such a thing but he insisted. Later I went out with him about 12am on January 20 and set a bus on fire at 2am."

Detective Branch of Dhaka District Police tossed in the calaboose
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
Fazal along with two others ‐ Khairul Islam alias Silti Khairul, 26, and Shawkat Islam, 24, ‐ for setting fire to a passenger bus in Keraniganj area, the outskirts of the capital.

"Based on information, detectives arrested the three from Noadda village of Rajendrapur Bazar under Keraniganj cop shoppe early yesterday," says Habibur Rahman, superintendent of police of Dhaka.

SP Habib said the arrestees are actively involved in the politics of Chhatra Dal.

"On January 20, about 1:45am the arrestees set fire to the bus of Sirajdhikhan Paribahan which was parked at Rajendrapur Bus Stand of Dhaka-Mawa Highway.

The driver and his assistant were sleeping inside the bus when it was put on fire but somehow they managed to escape the fire but were burnt badly, said SP Habib while briefing at the media center of DMP.

Habib says that a case was filed with South Keraniganj cop shoppe against 30 named and 10 to 12 unnamed persons in connection with the arson attack.

Sub-inspector Sohrab Hossain of the cop shoppe filed the case.

While investigating the case, district police detectives found involvement of the three in the bus fire case and arrested them, says Habib adding that in primary interrogation the three confessed to their involvement in the bus blaze.

Another arrestee Shawkat said they first poured petrol into two soft-drink bottles. "When the opportune moment came we opened a window of the bus and poured petrol before we set it on fire."

"We have done this on the instruction of boro bhai," added Shawkat.

About Pavel, SP Habib says Pavel Mollah is the joint convener of Chhatra Dal Tegharia Union unit under Keraniganj cop shoppe.

Pavel and his younger brother Babu are involved in violence and sabotage in the area.

"We are now trying to arrest Pavel," says SP Habib.

"The three were placed before a court yesterday evening followed by their confessional statement before Senior Judicial Magistrate Afroza Shiuli.

The three were later sent to jail, says Md Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of prosecution of Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.

Ukrainian Army deploys for counterattack as rebels continue attacks

Russian media are claiming now that rebel forces have "closed the lid" on the large Ukrainian Army deployment at Debaltsevo.

For several days, rebel combat formations have been attacking the walls of the Debaltsevo salient, trying to pin down Ukrainian forces while simultaneously attempting to close the encirclement of Ukrainian forces at Debaltsevo in an operation at Krasny Pakhar and Troitskoye, both of which are on the eastern side of the salient.

While the eastern side of the operation is seemingly complete, the western side has not yet taken place which would fully close the salient.

Despite that, Ukrainian forces are currently switching forces from nearby hotspots on the front in order to gather strength for a counter attack on Krasny Pakhar. Reports from the pro rebel Voice of Sevastopol suggest that the warfighting the Ukrainian Army has been conducting at Gorvlovka has changed into artillery attacks, as Ukrainian forces are being withdrawn from Gorlovka and being switched to a planned counterattack against rebel forces at Krasny Pakhar.

At the moment, much of the rebels' attention is focused on the town of Uglegorsk, which is on the western side of the salient, just a few kilometers west of Debaltsevo. The fighting in the town has been described as "fierce" as rebels attempt to take the location along with other nearby settlements including Shevchenko, Maloorlovka and Nizhnelozovoye.

A video this writer saw was of rebel tanks and early model infantry fighting vehicles, such as the BMP-1 being used as mobile artillery platforms, firing three shots before displacing in anticipation of Ukrainian counterbattery fire. All of the fighting is being recorded on video on snow covered ground, in an icy mist with low visibility.

Claims by major Russian media that Ukrainian forces in the salient -- numbering between 8,000 and 10,000 -- have been surrounded, are premature, to say the least. However, rebels say that Ukrainian positions at Debaltsevo and Uglegorsk have been encircled, albeit with supply routes under rebel artillery observers. How long this "operational encirclement" -- as the rebels have characterized it -- will continue will depend on the success of Ukrainian counterattacks at Krasny Pakhar to the north.

Ukrainian military journalist Dmitri Tymchuk said that the famed rebel "Ghost Brigade" has suffered heavy losses in the operation against Debaltsevo, losing a total of 15 armored fighting vehicles and tanks, and more than 100 personnel. Tymchuk said the brigade has been rendered incapable and has apparently been pulled from the front for rest and refitting near Alchevsk, to the east of Debaltsevo.

According to Tymchuk, 40 resupply vehicles have been observed by Ukrainian forces heading towards Alchevsk. Tymchuk also noted that rebel forces have brought up to the Debaltsevo front an additional eight rocket artillery launchers and 12 towed artillery tubes.

He said that a self propelled artillery battery consisting of four 2S1 Gvozdika pieces were being moved to Gorlovka by rebel forces.

Ukraine Peace Talks Dropped as Civilians Die
[VOA News] At least 12 civilians on both sides of the eastern Ukraine conflict were killed Friday as a new round of peace talks between Kyiv and pro-Russia separatists failed to materialize after a cease-fire ruptured early in the year.

The city administration in rebel-controlled Donetsk reported that five people were killed by shell fire as they were waiting for humanitarian aid outside a cultural center, while another two people died when shelling hit a trolley elsewhere in the city.

City officials blamed the attacks on Ukrainian government forces. The Ukrainian government's National Security and Defense Council blamed the shelling outside the cultural center on the rebels, and also put the corpse count at seven.

Europe
Bloomberg View: Greece turns left, Europe goes right.
Posted by: Besoeker || 01/31/2015 00:38 || Comments || Link || [4 views] Top|| File under:

#1  Cherry-picked from the source article:
"The resistance to reducing state employment, cutting budgets, and working harder for less money and shorter vacations becomes resistance to the market economy itself. The ex-communist radical left is the natural place for such resistance: The economic program of the left simply denies that such measures will actually help"
"the northern European far right has no credible economic program"
----
A better headline might have been: "EUrope goes crazy, but Greece goes even crazier!"
Posted by: Anguper Hupomosing9418 || 01/31/2015 10:07 Comments || Top||

#2  Seems like the typical claptrap of a Harvard professor. Note his definition of "far right" with no credible economic program.

Goes right along with his "ex-communist" radical left. What's EX about them? This will be an interesting time if Greece really does default on all their borrowing. Maybe the EU can move all their industrious Muzzie immigrants to Greece to bolster the workforce.

#3  Who knows what "far right" means nowadays... It seems to mean socialism but without the international aspect.

Never seems to mean more markets and less government that most people think that's what they mean...

It's "almost" like the MSM like to use words that mislead.

#4  Here's something that sheds some light on where the author stands:
"Feldman was a featured speaker, alongside noted Islamic authority Hamza Yusuf, in the lecture Islam & Democracy: Is a clash of civilisations inevitable?, which was subsequently released on DVD. An excerpt from Feldman's 2008 book, The Fall and Rise of the Islamic State, appeared in the New York Times Sunday Magazine and was attacked by Leon Wieseltier for "promoting" Islamic law as a "swell basis" for a political order. This, according to Wieseltier, amounts to "shilling for soft theocracy" and is hypocritical since Wieseltier presumes that neither he nor Feldman would actually choose to rear their own children in such a system."

It is also remarkable that the article lacks any mention of the root cause of this crisis: the Euro.

Without the Euro the Greeks and others could never have amassed debt at such a catastrophic level.

No matter how much the government might have cooked the books the truth would have been revealed at the currency market.

The Euro acted like an analgesic and the nations in crisis interpreted the absence of pain as an absence of economic damage. That worked until 2010 when the debt had already catastrophical levels.

Russian envoy called in after nuclear bombers cross Channel
Relations between London and Moscow were rocked again yesterday when the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to explain why two of the country's bombers had flown unannounced across the English Channel.

The long-range nuclear-capable aircraft flew south of Bournemouth on Tuesday, forcing British Typhoons to scramble from their bases in Scotland and Lincolnshire. The manoeuvre took place on the same day that a public inquiry into the poisoning of the former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko began an investigation that has irritated the Kremlin.
Paywall after this.

Greece Says It Won't Negotiate With Bailout Creditors
[VOA News] Greece's new left-wing government was in open dispute Friday with its European bailout creditors, saying it would not negotiate with European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
and International Monetary Fund officials on the country's bailout conditions and rejecting new loans offered for February.

Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said Greece had no intention of talking with the negotiators from the lending "troika" (the European Union, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund) about an extension of the existing bailout, and instead said he would rather meet with eurozone leaders.

"Our intention is to -- with an absolute will to cooperate -- to persuade our partners ... that our common interest in Europe is served best by a new agreement that will emerge following talks between all Europeans,'' he said.

Germany Warns Greece Heading Wrong Way as Tsipras Shunned

[BLOOMBERG] Greece's government risks isolation in the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
by threatening to break ranks on sanctions against Russia and ditch its bailout deal, German Chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany. She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom...
's minister for European affairs said.

"Greece is firmly anchored in the mainstream of the European Union," Michael Roth, who's also deputy foreign minister, said in an interview. "I can only hope that this is where it wants to stay."

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras's government, sworn in Tuesday, is putting Greece's financial lifeline at risk, the German Finance Ministry said. Greece's bailout terms mean his government needs to undertake further reforms by the end of February. Extending the deadline would only make sense if Tsipras showed willingness to implement agreed reforms, and "the announcements from Athens go in the opposite direction," ministry front man Martin Jaeger said Friday.

Federal Judge Accuses Justice Dept. Attorneys of Possible "Fraud Upon the Court"
[SharylAttkisson] From any neutral viewpoint, it's a big and serious story when a federal judge (appointed by Clinton) accuses seven Justice Department attorneys of fraud in a whistleblower case. In essence, the judge is alleging the worst sorts of ethical violations "possibly criminal" against the very government attorneys who are supposed to protect the public's interest.

In a newly unsealed, Dec. 1, 2014, court ruling that legal experts said was highly unusual, Allegra accused seven Justice Department lawyers of "fraud upon the court," banned them from making any further filings in the case and took the unusual step of directly notifying Attorney General Eric Holder.

[Judge] Allegra said the government attorneys may have intimidated a witness and charged that seven of them may have kept illegal behavior secret from the court.

What happens when those who are supposed to protect the public's interest harm the public's interest? To whom can citizens turn?

What happens when the nation's chief law enforcement agency loses the public's confidence?

How can the same Justice Dept. convince the public it is conducting an independent investigation of the IRS while defending the IRS in private litigation?

The same Justice Dept. fails to follow Freedom of Information laws while defending other federal agencies defying the law as well as using your tax dollars.

Is this story getting its due coverage? If not why?

What are your thoughts?

Here are some articles discussing this extraordinary case and the judge's allegations

#1  Maybe it's a trend. Just this week I watched the oral argument in the case of Baca V. Adams before the 9th Circuit. It's a case about false evidence, a prosecutor who lied on the stand, and evidence hiding by the California Attorney General. As a criminal defense attorney since 1982 I am familiar with DA's who lie and bully and hide the ball with no punishment. It's delightful. Alex Kazinsky finally put this bum in his place.

Texas teachers to use deadly force in defense

#1  Maybe it's just the way the article is written, but it says that the teacher would not be subject to any prosecution. That seems too broad to non-lawyer mind. There has to be some reasonable justification. Otherwise you will have scenarios like this:
Teacher: Johnny, go sit down.
Johnny: NO! I don't want to.
Teacher: I feel threatened.
BANG!

Cops have already used this sort of defense when shooting civilians. They feel threatened, so they are "justified" in shooting.

#4  Probably a response to the vid on the net in the last couple of days showing a student assaulting a teacher. School administrators are loath to report crime to the police. Looks bad. Covering up crime is in itself a criminal offense. Too many administrators get away with it. Bleeding body is hard to cover up.

#7  The actual bill as filed merely extends current Texas Penal Code defenses in the case of justified use of deadly force in self-defense or in defense of a third person, with the emphasis on justified, to an educator on school property. The interesting part is that an educator is also given immunity from any civil action arising from the use of deadly force in self defense or in the defense of another. Hard to say if the bill will make it through the legislature. Seems to me to be tied to the current trend of school districts in Texas to allow trained educators to carry concealed firearms.
