Alec Baldwin Skates
[Just the News] A New Mexico judge shockingly dismissed Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin's involuntary manslaughter case on Friday, after agreeing that prosecutors withheld crucial evidence.

First Judicial District Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer agreed with Baldwin's defense attorneys, who claimed the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office took live rounds of ammunition from the set as evidence but did not record them properly in the case file or reveal their existence to the actor’s defense team.

"The sanction of dismissal is the only warranted remedy," Sommer said, according to NBC News.

#2 A New Mexico judge shockingly dismissed...

I think very few, if any, Rantburgers are shocked at this.

Sounds like all the J6s should get the same nod given the withholding of evidence in the trials.

#5 Withhold evidence.... How does a prosecutor get to be a judge?

#6 None of the articles indicate how the ammunition represented a hook for the defense to hang their hat on.

#7 I'm not fan of Baldwin. I also feel the minute you pick up a real gun you are fully responsible for it. When a prosecutor fails to follow the simplest of evidence processes, the guilty go free, as they should. Too bad it does not work that way for all in this two teared justice system we now live in...

#8 Let's see what happens to the prosecutors and sheriff's officers to know if this is legit or not.

#10 I don't doubt that, but why wait so long? Is this part of some barakian plot? Or an election 'squirrel'?

#12 I really hate Baldwin and his ilk, but it sounds like the DA created this mess willfully. Here is CTH summation that kind of gets to that:

"Apparently, the prosecution received a box of live ammunition from a witness. The ammunition was from the same lot used on the set of Rust. That evidence strongly suggested the live ammunition that made its way on to the set came from the prop supplier, rather than from the film’s armorer.

The question has always been, how did live ammunition get into the gun on the set? The prosecution team hid the evidence and never told the defense team, a clear Brady violation."
