An American Anti-submarine reconnaissance plane flew the length of the Nordstream Pipeline just hours before the explosion

The helicopters seem like something that would be there to observe for any potential Russian vessel or aircraft that would discover their operation. Hence anti-sub capable helicopters, which have heavily patrolled Kaliningrad the past few days. All easily accessible info that will never be talked about.

Could the plane that flew the full pipe length have been the delivery vehicle for divers that performed the mission?

Seems odd to fly the full pipe length like that, unless you’re doing it because the exact location of the mission isn’t decided upon until during the mission itself based on the movements of other vessels, Russia, potential allies that might notice, etc etc. You could fly the length of the pipe and can pick your delivery at any point.

Pretty funny how publicly available all this shit is these days and everyone still shrugs and says, "Russians did it." I’m sure it just spontaneously combusted, the Slavic brainpan is incapable of designing pipes that don’t just blow up every now and again. Haven't you heard that we can measure skulls with calipers?

#8 P-3As fly along that route all the time to check for Russian subs trying to sneak their way out. That isn't too weird. Plus the standard armament of the P-3 wouldn't be very efficient at attacking a pipeline.

Any nation that has commercial deep sea ability could have pulled this off. So what nations that have that would benefit the most from Germany not being able to back out of sanctions during the dead cold of winter? They are the most likely to have done it.

#15 Big whoop. Nordstream runs the length of the Baltic, ASW P-3 fly the length of the Baltic. Wrong armaments and we've got way sneakier ways to do it if it was us (which I doubt, we can't keep a secret for squat).

I also doubt the Russians. Why? Big Vlad already had the gas valve in his hand, why should he blow up his own asset and eliminate the energy blackmail angle.

#17 If it had been known since last August/couple weeks ago, depending on the story, that an attack on the pipeline(s) is imminent, that would explain patrols, but a failure to protect would look really bad. That is a possibility.

I also can't shake that the people who are all-in on the conflict is the same team who (likely) faked two different chemical weapons attacks in Syria in order to escalate the conflict, the one under Obama (with McCain's Heroes) which Kerry accidentally diffused, and the one during Trump which ended with that whomp on the (pre-warned) airstrip which diffused that crises.

Fortunately, I have not seen any serious people with the WWII, that's WW11 for you ticktockers, who have gone the 'They Knew it was Coming and Let it Happen Anyways to Escalate the War'.

Since this is a natural shipping merge point, though not as busy as The Straits of Malacca, would there be some sort of traffic control?

Also, considering the lane merging and shallow depth, would there not also be some sort of SOSUS system in place?

#20 Thank you NN2N1. Fascinating. Going to have to let some questions roll around a bit, but first thought is, yes, accepted traffic patterns.

Looks like some 75%+ goes north of that island and that is normal because I don't see some sort of re-rout 'detour road' back south off that line.

Looks to be enough traffic and surveillance that someone dinking around would look like a person driving 40 in an 80. More so with the war situation the last 7 months risking a patrol flight.

So underwater into theater, using a ship (noise) as a screen?

Yes. One around the Denmark straits and one from Norway to Denmark and along with the one from Greenland, Iceland and Scotland. Plus always subs and sensors outside the Murmanskins peninsula.

I think what I am trying to get at is at what point does and Evil NUMA plot get a little out of hand, like But Dirk Pitt found a 1:15 scale Rolls Royce custom model at the site!

I might be off here, but I'm picturing in my mind a sonar system working with that ping map as a traffic camera of sorts.
