#4 Note the subplot. G36 is select fire, that is it is an actual "assault rifle" that can be fired fully automatic or semi. By labeling the G36 as "semiautomatic" (about 37 times in the article) they provide fifth column support for the idea that semi's are "assault rifles" and should be banned.
