Rep. Darrell Issa: Joe Biden must ‘stay engaged' after leaving office
[Wash Times] President Obama has said he’ll stay out of the day-to-day scrum in Washington once he vacates the White House, but a top Republican in Congress hopes the president’s second in command sticks around and works to facilitate deals between the two political parties.
Because he's been so effective in the past.
Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican, said Vice President Joseph R. Biden can play a critical role in finding bipartisan solutions on health care and a host of other issues, even after Donald Trump assumes the presidency.

"My friend Joe Biden needs to stay engaged. He’s going to leave the office, but he says he’s going to stay engaged -- be able to drive his Corvette, but be engaged," Mr. Issa told CNN’s "State of the Union." "He’s been a deal-doer for a long time, and I think he’s freed up now as a senior statesman to be involved with us."

#1 And there you have the beginnings of the Inner Party becoming the 3rd party.

#3 why is it that whenever conservatives make strides, a so-called conservative stabs us in the back?

#4 This isn't Issa's usual schtick. Perhaps he got scared by a Dem trial atty ("Colonel" Doug Applegate) playing off his military career almost beating him and is trying to show a little more bipartisanship? If so it's wasted effort - Applegate's already said he'll try again in 2018

#5 No, you don't understand.
What could possibly destroy the Democratic party faster than having Joe Biden involved in day to day operations?

#7 If Obama stays engaged, and Biden stays engaged, and Warren and Ellison take over the Democrat party, I see the Dems marching off into the wilderness for at least 8 years (unless Trump really blows it).

#8 Remember when Nixon used China as a part of triangulation against the USSR? Canny old fox seeing the role hegemonies play in geopolitics. Now Vlad can be the same tool since apart from nukes and oil, he's got a thin hand to play from. In the game of thrones china is a bigger threat since they have decided to be expansionistic with our money. When it dries up next few years they are going to get grumpy as internal demands for sustained improvements in life for the average chinaman get hard to sustain.
