Passenger jet makes safe emergency landing at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport

MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. A passenger Boeing of Russia’s UTair air company has safely landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport after spending about two hours in midair preparing for an emergency landing, a spokeswoman for the airport told TASS on Sunday.
"The plane landed safely, the passengers will be taken to the terminal," Maria Sharavina said.
There were 112 passengers onboard the plane.
The Boeing 737-800 passenger jet (flight UT-247) took off from Vnukovo for Surgut but shortly after the takeoff the pilot decided to return to the airport after a failure detector signaled a malfunction.
A source in emergencies services told TASS that the plane was flying at an altitude of 2.13 kilometers over Obninsk and Serpukhov (southwest of Moscow) for more about two hours to burn out fuel.
