55 die in FlyDubai airliner crash at Rostov

A FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 has crashed in a fireball while it attempted to land at a Russian airport.

The passenger jet was believed to be making its second attempt to land at Rostov-on-Don airport in poor visibility.

A video published on YouTube appears to show a fireball as the aircraft crashes into the ground.

The jet is believed to be Flight FZ981 from Dubai. Officials say there were at least 55 passengers and crew members on board and there were no survivors.

#2 FlyDubai says the passengers included 44 Russians, eight Ukrainians, two Indians and one Uzbekistani, altogether 55 people.

55 passengers: 4 children, 33 women, 18 men. 175 seat aircraft, 7 crew, a 4am landing.

Was this a evac flight?
