Britons who travel to suicide clinics in Switzerland to kill themselves face a new "death tax" of up to £30,000. In Britain anyone who aids a suicide can be jailed for up to 14 years in prison, although no one has been prosecuted. More than 115 Britons have traveled to Switzerland for euthanasia in the last 11 years.

To end this so-called 'death tourism', right-wing Swiss politicians have launched an initiative for a public referendum that would make it extremely costly for foreigners to end their life in clinics.
