#1 ...UXO - even 'safe' (properly stored and handled) - can be extremely dangerous. Add to that the fact that 80 years after Okinawa was occupied, they're still finding UXO on the base. Matter of fact, there is an area about one kilometer to a side there that is filled with UXO from the battle, and is strictly off limits.
