#1 To me, it looks like SCOTUS has held deportations of Venezuelans under the Enemies Act only. It seems like the government has a strong case for the legality of the process so this is more of a delay. I don’t see any indication that regular deportations are on hold. Gang members and criminals continue to be eligible for regular deportation.

#2 The reason is to protect lawyer’s jobs. They do not make money if there is not a trial. Trump is a business man, not a grifter!
