I get it. Nobody likes it when Dad tells you to clean your room. And Trump did tweak Canada's national pride with his cracks about Canada becoming the 57th state and referring to young Justin as "governor".

But Trump's end goal here was not a trade war, it was stopping the flow of fentanyl and illegals. Initially, I was quite surprised that when offered the choice between stopping the fentanyl trade and tariffs, the Canadians immediately chose tariffs. Given the widespread and continuing commotion on the Canadian side, I am thinking this is less about wounded national pride and more about government officials protecting their rice bowls.

Side Note: Canada does have a governor, the Governor General, who is appointed by the British monarch to administer the government of Canada in the monarch's name. A historical artifact from the time of the French and Indian War or something.

Trump is a business man. The President of the United States is expected to wear a suit during such events. This is called a Uniform. The Marine had on his suit.

Elynskyyy The Entertainer was dressed in LL Bean Tacticool. That is a costume. Probably why Trump made that quip when he got out of the vehicle.
