Will Pfizer provide a suddenly developed mRNA vax?

Or, did another company do it the old fashion SAFE way of collecting chickens that actually survived their infections and developed natural immunity, as the source for a vax?

Given all the recent issues with meat food sources, a person with a Tin Hat on might think Vegans were behind it?

#2 The US Department of Agriculture last week issued a conditional license for an avian flu vaccine for use in chickens.

Zoetis, the manufacturer behind the vaccine, announced the conditional approval Friday, saying in a news release its scientists had begun updating its existing avian flu vaccine in 2022.

#5  To stop the virus from spreading, the USDA has long promoted culling infected birds.

If you deliberately murder the chickens, then they do not die of influenza. Public health mission accomplished!

I can see how culling might stop the spread if you have a large number of small chicken farms, but with fewer and larger farms, you end up with a dearth of chickens. I wonder if the recent laws on cage-free eggs have exacerbated the problem.

Perhaps modern biotechnology can find a way to grow eggs without going through the chicken phase.

#7 ^2 and others

as Bobby pointed out, the company that makes the chicken flu vaccine is Zeotis ZTS (on the NYSE)

it is a well established company that makes medicine, diagnostics, vaccines, medical equipment and so forth with almost $10 B in annual sales.

#8 I have back yard egg layers and seasonal meat chickens. No way in hell do they get a vax.

We get eggs from my son's hens but I think we all need to cut the Trump cabinet a little slack, they've got a whole lot to clean up and they've only been at it for a couple of weeks, it takes me that long to clean the garage.
