#1 Elon Musk is wrong.

The AfD once was a mainstream center right party but that hasn't been the case for a couple of years.

Today's AfD is being dominated by a cabal of thuggish anti-freedom, anti-Western Civilization, pro Russia/CCP/Iran/Qatar/China/Islam/Islamization grifters.

Unfortunately the self-appointed ruling bloc of mainstream "Democratic" parties which includes the Communist Party of East Germany and its affiliates is no better, but slightly worse.

I can think of only two facts redeeming the AfD:

The AfD has zero political power and has always had zero political power, thus it bears zero responsibility for the state of the country.

Only the AfD is opposed to the climate agenda.

Of course they don't when the establishment hack parties pull whatever parliamentary trick in the book to prevent the AfD getting any power.

AfD came in second place in Thuringia and Saxony elections, if I recall correctly. I suppose 20+% of the electorate just love to vote for "a cabal of thuggish anti-freedom, anti-Western Civilization [sic]...grifters." That fits the establishment political parties in Germany to a T.
