#2 FEMA is another agency that can be abolished without the taxpayers losing anything.

It's sole purpose originally was to disburse money to states that had large disasters, not take over those areas. After Katrina, the entire focus changed and it started to buy and hoard equipment.

#3 FEMA has an approved supplier list. If your company isn't on the list you can't help during a disaster. Can you say graft?

#5 You have to bear in mind, All government programs start from a failure, turn into a crusade, and end as a jobs program. Every single one of them, including DoD.
