#2 Russian cope, i.e. lying to themselves. Poland prudently rearms as Moscow threatens to invade everyone from Latvia to Britain. Meanwhile Russian capabilities and manpower are destroyed in Ukraine and the road to Moscow is wide open and unmanned.

Poland is religious and believes in miracles, which means that they happen there from time to time.

I think it is a great miracle that current national and international problems haven't already combined well enough to collapse everything, some time ago.

#5 Russia has destroyed herself the last century and continues to do so this century. From a great, though backward, power with a vast population to a middling and fast declining autocracy. They are well on the road to another breakup and reorganization or absorption.

One thing that struct me as a young lad was that according to demographers the Soviet Union was "missing" 100 million people going by their reported birth and death rates if they were a normal country. Those are the missing and the never born children of the 20 million from internal genocides and 30+ million dead in wars.

I'll give you some credit Grom. You were smart enough to get out while you could.
