#2 Save $3 billion in energy, spend $6 billion in additional costs in bulbs. Just dumb. Someone will do the total carbon lifecycle of the LEDs and find them like electric cars, not very efficient from cradle to grave...

#6 I will support the change if Joe agrees to pose sucking on a lightbulb like Uncle Fester.

#8 BTW: Since I already what I need for a few years.

IF you have a Dollar Tree ($1.25 now) store, they still carry the incandescent light bulbs.

#9 I have used LED bulbs. I hate the color and they don't last near as long as advertised.

#10 You mean they gave up on corkscrew fluorescents?

I bought out most of my Aces supply the last time this $#it was around. Still got a big box full.

#11 Ford Motor Company is doubling down on EV, with what appears to be limited success. I suspect the end result will be a massive gov't bailout, but perhaps that is the plan. Gov't money on the front end, more gov't money on the back end.

Not an original thought BTW.

#12 Bidet, China Puppet delivers the next enforced monopoly to China, exactly what you thought.

"Most of the world’s LED lamp production occurs in China. By value, 94% of all LED lamp imports to
the United States were manufactured in China in 2019. Virtually no LED lamp manufacturing is taking place in the United States today."

#13 With an incandescent bulb emitting 90% of its current as heat it isn't very efficient. Because of the long hot Oklahoma summer season I did not like paying a higher air conditioning bill for my light... During the short winter months the extra warmth was helpful. So the technologies have trade offs.

#14 Nobody ever mentions that incandescent lightbulbs din indoor use do not waste energy except in the Summer. The energy supposedly wasted becomes heat, and contributes to heating the premises Thus,, in winter the energy supposely wasted must be replaced by gas or electric or wood or coal heatinr. This cuts considerably toward reducing the savings involved. It probably reduces it from what it would be if this fact were ignored, by a approximately two thirds.
And if anyone would like to change lightbulbs during daylight savings changes there would be no wastage at all from such bulbs.

#15 That’s how I used to handle it, once non-incandescent bulbs were available: summer bulbs and winter bulbs.

#16 I could just about sing a song about my first dimming 500 watt halogen torchiere. Only had to run another heater during the very hardest of freezes (in NOLA), and SAD was never a problem. Loved that thing.
