And Gavin, don't forget with the rains will come plant growth and with plant growth. If you don't cut back the plant growth the state burns up in the late summer. Don't act suprised.

#11 The "atmospheric river" is the jet stream dipping low enough to suck in normal Pacific Ocean moisture. If it sources all the way to Hawaii, it's the "Pineapple Express". If it's too complicated for sub-genius reporters it becomes a "bomb cyclone" because that sounds cool and they're too stupid for real weather, which happens all the time = "Climate Change".

#13 bomb cyclone is any non tropical storm where the central pressure drops by 24 mb in 24 hours

happens off the east coast sometimes

frequently in the gulf of Alaska, less common off the Calif coast

not every 'bomb cyclone' has an atmospheric river with it; as implied by Frank G, if the storm gets closer to the tropics it is more likely to tap into the moisture there
