#1 I remember discussions here about the usefulness of tampons and sanitary pads for bullets holes and bleeding. Also plastic bags and duck tape for sucking wounds. Do y’all still recommend cold cream slathered on feet to prevent athletes foot?

#2 Dust feet with gold bond powder to keep them dry and change socks every day. I would avoid cold cream as it could cause blisters with heavy marching.

#8 Mustard oil, massaged well into feet. And feet dipped in hot water after. Not only keep infection away, give you a spring in your step if do the calves too. It ain't fancy. Smells a little. But you'll thank me for it.

#9 Our family Marine just says to p*ss on your foot for athlete's foot and leave it there for a couple minutes. Something within the chemical makeup of urine apparently does the job.

Of course his battalion never spent much time near an MCX (or a modern civilization for that matter), so they improvised, adapted and overcame.

I have tried that and it really does work. Sometimes you have to do it for a second day if you have a bad case, though.

Washing your feet afterwards is helpful in modern society, too.
