Given, there is NO CURE for chronic paranoid schizophrenia, he will always be a threat to society and those around him.

Having taken 5 lives and injured 10+ others, to achieve what he called rebirth, instead of just committing suicide. He will get a lifetime of free room and board.

Which means the families that he adversely impacted will now continue to share in paying his room, board and medical care for life.

Seem to remember a ScFi movie or book where an island was set up to place such society threats.
