They are the original of which Penzey’s is a pale, horribly politicized imitation. When I got tired of young Mr. Penzey repeatedly forcing his politics into my email In box, I found The Spice House, whose very nice phone clerk promised me solemnly that as a matter of company policy they would never be in any way political, and mentioned in passing that I was their nth refugee from Bill P’s politics that week. Highly recommended.
