I started putting the slash on a "Z" to differentiate it from a handwritten "two" (2). I do it to a "7" also so it won't be confused with a "one" (1). Just one of the few things I learned in the Nav (NAVY).
By the way Gen Z sounds like to me as Generation Zombie.

Au contraire! In the progressive world into which GenZ has been indoctrinated, if anything has ever been adjacent to a Nazi, or someone things it has, then it is automatically contaminated as "Nazi Hate". The ADL and SPL were just cherries on top.
