#1 Orders for durable goods rose 11.4 percent. That’s an increase from the 11.2 percent rise initially reported and brings manufacturing in-line with its pre-pandemic level of activity.

When times are tough, people still need stuff. They don't need service jobs that don't involve making stuff work. Gotta onshore those exported manufacturing jobs.

#3 During an actual depression or recession, hard good orders would plummet. But they are increasing. The economy was damaged by these shutdowns, but not as badly damaged as the Democrats had hoped. We are prepared to bounce back, at least in certain regions that aren't being ravaged by violence.
