#1 Appears someone has extended Grenell some authority. Excellent move by the DNI, but watch for potential SSCI and HPSCI 'work arounds.' Also in need of 'deep dives' are the IC relationship to the media and bilateral intelligence sharing arrangements (beginning with, but not limited to Five Eyes).

No sense making it a Durham investigation from hell, lets just examine the past 5 years or so, shall we ?

#2 Can it be that POTUS has lost confidence in Christopher A. Wray's ability to reform and clean house in the F.B.I.?

Looking at the last administration, one should also be suspicious of the possibilities for corrupt placeholder DNIs such as were placed in the Obumble administration. "Eternal vigilance" are the watchwords.

Fortunately, Grenell was a good choice to do a hurry-up, first pass clean up of the intelligence community. Congressman John Ratcliffe, who will replace Grenell, will likely continue this clean-up and reform.
