#3 It's the only way to keep them in the hotel. Otherwise they'd be back on the streets looking to score. This is the end result of the government's failure to enforce existing laws which would require these people to be incarcerated, not in hotels but in jails or camps out in the boondocks.

#5 The gum comment trigger a fourth grade memory where I mischievously brought an entire box of. Beemans Gum to class and purposefully got caught. When Mrs Goldman asked me that I said yes and instead of a triumphal acquiescence she promptly took the box and call my mom after class. Hopes for class fame
dashed.
