#1 Should have had the Mexican Marines on call. They seem to be the only reliable gov't force.

#2 Money talks Chapo's son walks. Mexican politicians are no different than ours.

#3 Another statement made in the long argument over why arrests and due process are so fucking necessary for elements long established to be well 'beyond the social contract'.

#4 Should have had the Mexican Marines on call.

Rantburg's own badanov used to report regularly on the doings of the Mexican Marines. They did seem to be the one gov't organization that had it together.

#5 Gun Free Zone has numerous videos.

Looks like Team Gov got walloped. Team Chapo had a collection of technicals - good ones, not the crap we see rolling about Africa.

#6 Wonder how many of Eric Holder's "Fast and Furious" weapons were used?

#7 When the cops can't do it anymore it's no longer a law enforcement problem. It's a civil war.

Y'all want a civil war? Mexico's got one. All those generals and chickenshit politicians who scream at Trump for pulling out of Syria have no further to look than Mexico for the next military engagement. The only question is: Are our politicians too corrupted by cartel money to declare war on the cartel? They won't even secure the border when they know full well that if they did it would cut off the cartel's income and thereby help Mexico's government get the upper hand in this war. But then, that would cut off a significant income stream for our politicians.

#10 How is badanov anyway? Anyone hear from him?

badanov is fine, Whiskey Mike. I see him on Facebook from time to time. As I recall, he got a new job that requires more of his time. His Mexico Drug War dispatches are for sale in Rantburg’s right margin below Fred’s books, titled The Wounded Eagle by Chris Covert.

#15 The Mexican Army was second only to the Mexican marines in terms of lethality and reliability.

You have to take a gander at their commander in chief to get a sense of what went wrong.

Thanks for the bon mots

Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
