#3 Total speculation: Even if people wearing uniforms are not refused service, I'd wager they are getting a big dose of attitude from the hired help. Perhaps this is one reason for the rising popularity of Chick-fil-A where they simply make your food and smile.

True. But you don't have to ask. Simply explain at the first interview: "Our goal is to serve greasy fast food to anyone who walks thru the door. We will do it with a smile. If *you* can't do that, you will be gone so fast your ears will pop." Wash, rinse, and repeat often.
