Interesting that he lists himself as fluent in both Dari and Farsi - as if they are 2 different languages. Most comment I have found on the internet conflates the 2 languages into a single language - Farsi.

#2 An interesting question, Anguper! They both seem to be dialects of Persian - Farsi in Iran and Dari in Afghanistan. Likely minor linquistic differences become important when trying to fit in with the locals. "You boys ain't from around here, is ya?"
