#1 He's also apparently forgotten that he's not dealing with anybody named Hussein.

#3 President Trump will not play with your tail, he will just lift it out of the way before he shoves a missile up your donkey.

#4 'You will suffer consequences few throughout history have ever suffered': Trump sends stark warning to Iranian President Rouhani and says the US will no longer stand for his 'demented words of violence and death'

#5 The dear man has, perhaps, forgotten that Saddam Hussein's Iraq fought Iran to a standstill. But some years thereafter America conquered that selfsame Iraq in three days.

War is a political process. In a symmetrical war the US enjoys overwhelming superiority, but given current political paradigms this does not matter.

There's a broad consensus among Western politicians that the asymmetrical conflict with the Islamic world should be resolved by appeasing the populaces of Islamic nations.

Hence the payments of danegeld aid and the acceptance of Rushdie rules for non-muslims in the West.

The Iranian leadership can reasonably believe that Trump's current threats are as inconsequential as GWB's threats against the Taliban in 2001 were.

I predict they will defy Trump and force him to make a decision. Interesting times.

#7 Trump sound Jacksonian. We don't like or seek war, but if you want one, we will not hold back, we will wage war in the fullest (not some stupid kinder gentler substitute).

#8 Dear Mr. Rouhani:

You have perhaps forgotten that it is necessary to lift the lion's tail before planting your boot in his butt.

#9 Last I looked they had 1 major port, 1 major refinery, and 1 major religious city. Three strikes and they are out? Seems like you don't even have to level Tehran to cripple them. A one night operation. What's the Lion proposing to do to us?

#10 Three strikes and they are out?

Dunno. How far apart are they and how big is the bomb?

#11 Trump could also just order their entire Navy to be free-fire targets. That'd be a couple of days of entertainment.
