#3 Historically a party holds the white house for two terms. Trump has higher than usual ratings at this point, as things are currently going he gets reelected.

So the Dems would be smart to let their crazies take a run at the Presidency. If they lose they will be at least partially discredited and the Corrupt-side of the party can take over again.
