#1 My dad was an allergist-immunologist. People used to ask him where to move to to ameliorate their symptoms. He told them all "You can't move away from your genes."

#6 "You can't move away from your genes."

Mr. Wife has pretty severe allergies — he started getting asthma attacks at the age of two. He got some relief after moving from his childhood home in Buffalo, NY to Cincinnati, Ohio after university, but with time his immune system started overreacting to the flora here. Thank goodness the treatments have improved since he was a child — the only time he was symptom-free was the year he mostly spent in Egypt.
